I was in such a good mood here! Mostly because I'd just finished watching Stranger Things. Stranger Things is incredible! The Duffers got everything right with this 80's style thriller! They've not only captured the aesthetic of classic films we grew up with, but they've found a way to recreate the feeling you had when you first saw The Goonies or Poltergeist. There lives an emotional connection between these young characters that far exceeds their ages, genders, or character stereotypes. The plot is simple yet fantastic, and the visuals are both high quality and familiar. Netflix has a truly instant classic on its hands. read more

I have to give it a one because the service we had was so horrible. We LOVED the food, but Valery was one of the worst servers We've ever had. She was so crabby and even sighed when we asked for lemon in our tea. She basically didn't speak to us and was completely unwilling to help us with our order. It's unfortunate that a dining experience can be completely ruined by such an unhappy person... Ps - she charged us gratuity... UPDATE... After all the talk of this place we finally ventured into WP to give it a try last night. Bartenders were in their own little world on their phones, BSing with what appeared to be a regular. The guy next to us sat with an empty wine glass and was passed numerous times without a glance from either bartender. After waiting 15 mins to be acknowledged for a food order one bartender walked by picked up our menu and kept walking. OK, got it. We'll leave. We Just Love Hernando's Pizza Pub a Must stop every time we are up in Winter Park, If it was not a far drive from Denver i would go get it once a week, We always go up for July 4 and it's always busy so we went a little earlier and just sat down. I know this place is noted for its pizza, but try the Lasagna. A generous portion, with spicy Italian sausage, and wonderful marinara sauce makes this the best lasagna I have ever eaten. Great service and a nice selection of beer. This is a great family place with a unique and friendly atmosphere. read more

We always go here when we are in Winter Park for skiing or biking. It has never disappointed. Great pizza, atmosphere and beer. In the summertime a table out on the deck is a very pleasant experience. This is one of the reasons WP is better than Breck, Aspen, Vail and all those other resort towns. read more

We're in winter park for the first time and we ordered take out from Hernando's on our way into town. It had been a long day of driving and we were anxious to get to our cabin. We had heard great things about this place and we wanted to try it too! It was a Sunday night, and really busy! The food was delicious! I'd definitely come back. However, we walked away with the wrong order. Not sure if we somehow grabbed the wrong one or if the order was messed up. About half of the items were correct. An average pizza pie, but definitely the best in the Winter Park-Granby area. It looks like a German Brewhouse from the outside, strangely enough, so don't miss the sign. Bench-style seating in a cozy atmosphere complete with a fireplace. Pies are thicker than average, sure to fill you up after a hard day of skiing. Ingredients were pretty fresh. Not possible for me to come to Winter Park without coming here. Looooong waits, but they give you buzzers that work as far as the parking lot. I'm not a huge pizza fan but make an exception for this place. The thin wheat crust is great for the pizza (I like artichoke, red onion, and spinach) but be sure and sit by someone who order the thick crust so you can smother it with honey. read more

I'm a self admitted pizza snob. The pizza here is very good and for me the only thing that separates very good (4 star) to great (5 star) was the crust. Amazing Gluten Free Pizza, great atmosphere, what more could one want?

This is a favorite of the in-laws, and whether it's the best pizza joint or the only pizza joint in the ski resort region, my recommendation is unchanged: call in for a time slot/reservation, cause you will be waiting over an hour for pizza. This place certainly has a lot of character, there are one-dollar bills plastered across the walls and ceilings. I'm not particular to the history, but as my wife and her family states, it's the best post-ski trip pizza joint that they've ever had. The alcoholic beverages, aside from the beer is pretty generic, and the bartender definitely favors a stiff drink. We tried three different pizzas, the supreme, the vegetarian and the Jeffrey on the traditional crust. I do think the crust is the most unique aspect of the pizza, kind of a blend between thin crust and sauce filled crust. However, I wasn't a big fan of the toppings, as they were fairly skimpy and not enough to cover the dough. The service was decent and if it weren't for the fact that we placed our names down early, we would have been waiting for 1.5 hours at least. My recs, if you aren't starving for pizza, just look elsewhere cause you'll be waiting quite a long time for decent, but not outrageous pizza. read more

This is a great family dinner joint after hitting the slopes. They have bench style seating, so good for large parties. Great for pizza/pasta (hence the name). A wide variety of chohices on the menu, great beer selection. We got there early - 5:30pm found a table easily, but by the time we were done around 6:30pm, there was a 30 minute wait already. This place is a bit overrated. For my taste, it has a very tacky atmosphere. All the walls, tables, and even ceilings are covered with defaced $1 bills. At least $20,000 of wasted money. The pizza and pasta were okay. The wine okay. The beer list was lacking. The place is super busy and you should call ahead for seating unless you want to wait 2 hours for a table. Why was so busy? Because it's overrated by Yelpers. If you are okay with takeout pizza, try Elevation Pizza further down the road in Fraser. Much better. However, if you want to put down some beers and eat some hearty pizza on a cold winter night, this is the place for you. Addendum: I do appreciate the managements response to my original review. It shows they are very attentive to their customer base. To improve the pizza here I would recommend more tomato sauce, less cheese, and better definition of the individual toppings that we ordered. They all seemed to blend together. I couldn't really make them out when I looked at the pizza. As far as the dollar bills being posted everywhere, I was aware of the original story. I had read it on the menu when I wrote my original review. I really don't think anybody comes to this restaurant to see the dollar bills on the wall. They come here because the food is good, the service is excellent, and the management clearly cares about the customers. Why not take down the dollar bills and make this place look more classy? read more

Hernando's Pizza is the best place to get A pizza or some pasta in Grand County, the portions are huge. It's a bit on the expensive side but well worth it. Give this place a try! read more

This place can compete with any pizza place in the metro area as well. I'd love to see a second location in Denver! The dough is perfect, not too heavy. This is such a great pizza pub! The pizza here is thin and delicate and browned and the pizza edge is so delicious you eat it with honey. The walls are lined with $1.00 bills that patrons have decorated- thousands 0f them. Salad good as well. Good family spot - forgiving. Very rustic and casual. Easy access and parking. read more
