three deliciously cooked pieces of fried chicken
    Neville E.

Hershey's Restaurant it's like a Dive Bar and steroids when it comes to fried chicken. friendly staff and patrons make it a bonus to always go back the 45 minute wait for the fried chicken means you know it's cooked made to order and is always fresh. I have yet to get a bad order of chicken to date. The food brings you back to old-school cooking close Grandma's Sunday gathering. I love the apple slices, and even enjoy the Bands that play there sometimes. It's a hidden gem that doubles as a nice place to relax and chill. go for the jukebox stay for the karaoke occasionally listen to a great band overall get a cold beer relax talk to the locals. I think you would like the place.

Just had a great meal with my parents at Hersheys. Dad had the meatloaf, which was moist and a very generous helping. Mom and I had the chicken tender salad. They're known for their chicken and we can see why. Loved the chicken tenders and the salad was very fresh. Hershey's has been open since 1893!! If you like vintage places with character, this place is for you.

    Chicken tenders! Yummy!!!

I love the atmosphere at this great gem hiding in Gaithersburgs semi industrial park - no frills and when you sit at the bar you drink - play keno and order the great fried chicken!!! The bands play and the people dance - fun place and I recommend it!

À very generous platter of two-piece white fried chicken with coleslaw and fried okra

I had an appointment to install my car alarm, and had to wait a couple of hours until the installation was done, so I went on a, search for a place to have lunch, and, serendipitiously, stumbled upon Hershey's. I got there a couple of minutes before they open-ended, but I was invited to wait in one of their outside tables. It gave me some time to look around the place. Hershey's is tucked away in a semi-industrial area of Gaithersburg, right across the railroad tracks. It has a lovely patio outside, which I am sure would be great in the summer months. The establishment is primarily a local watering hole with a well-stocked bar that also serves a limited but substantial menu. The dishes seem to be influenced by Southern cooking. There are multiple tables, which by the time I left were busy with patrons. Following what is usually my preference, I sat at the bar. I ordered one of their beers on tap, Kona, which was refreshing. I ordered one of their fried chicken platters, the two-piece white, which came with two sides, and mine were fried okra and coleslaw. There is a 25 minute wait whenever you order fried chicken, because it is fried "a la minute" (to order), and that meant receiving a wonderful plate of fried chicken that was shateringly crispy outside and juicy and moist on the inside. The chicken was well seasoned, and so where the crispy fried okra. The servings were generous! I want also mention the wonderful service I got at the bar, where I appreciated the conversation with the bartender. Hershey's was a little gem that deserves to be visited more than once!

3 piece thigh with 2 sides $15. Deal!

Hands down some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. Light, crispy and well seasoned batter. Just how I like it. I ordered the 3 thighs with a side of Mac and Collards ($15). The Mac was ok. It's not your traditional homemade Mac and cheese. It was very one note with not a lot to it. The greens were my least favorite. They didn't have any flavor and again, weren't your traditional big leafy fresh collards. I'm always a little weary of finely chopped collards. We went in on a Friday evening when it was pretty busy and they were short staffed. I was ok with that because the fried chicken, which is what I went there for was AMAZING. My guess is the 3.5 star rating they have has a lot to do with the service. If you're ok with sacrificing the service for good food you should give it a try. Will def be back!!

I have to say, though busy, the service didn't miss a beat. Jenn - our server - was attentive/kind and fun. I got the filet mignon with the compound butter and my homie got some BBRibs to complement the aforementioned cornbread. The food came out fast and we got to eating. As always with every time I've been here, it slapped. Sides were solid, the steak was cooked to perfection and them ribs were disappearing off the plate! Good times. We followed up our entrees with a solid - and I mean solid - bread pudding. Jeez, this thing is decadent, but we got after it. Jenn brought us a scoop of ice cream and we went to town! Delicious. If you've got a sweet tooth, do yourself a favor and grab the Bread Pudding. It was soft, pillowy, but sweet (not overly sweet) and filling. As for ambiance, again, we were kickin it patio side and could see the water just fine. Honestly, this was a dope backdrop for our super deep convo on Frank Ocean vs. Frankie Beverley. Before I let you go, check'em out some time. You'll enjoy it. Or do you not think so far ahead?

Ava took care of us and she was simply amazing from her demeanor and kindness to her stellar recommendations. We began with their extremely fresh spinach dip that included salsa and sour cream. Absolutely fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I had the rainbow trout with spinach and mashed potatoes. The fish was fresh, light, and tasty. The trout itself was a very generous portion. For dessert, we dove into their Chocolate Uprising: Sort of like a ice cream sandwich on steroids with heavy cream and a chocolate and caramel base. It was fantastic and insane and we just couldn't finish it! I cannot remember having caramel that good (not sweet but rich). The staff is excellent. They work so well in concert from running food to clearing dishes. The bartenders are outstanding. I had a perfect Hendrick's Gin martini with blue cheese stuffed olives and my girlfriend loved her Malibu Bay Breeze. We look forward to returning -- and we'll start with the Chocolate Uprising and go from there!

The hostess was warm and accommodating, offering to seat me while I waited for my friend. Once she arrived, we were promptly shown to a comfortable booth in the dining room. The floor-to-ceiling windows filled the space with natural light, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. We started with the cheesesteak spring rolls (three per order), which were delicious. They tasted exactly as advertised--gooey cheesesteak filling wrapped in a perfectly crispy spring roll. For our entrees, my friend ordered the short ribs with broccoli instead of risotto, while I chose the Cajun shrimp pasta. The short ribs came with two generous pieces and were incredibly tender. My friend, who always orders short ribs whenever they're on a menu, was thoroughly impressed. The Cajun shrimp pasta was just okay. While it included a generous portion of nicely sized shrimp and the sausage added some much-needed flavor, the dish overall fell short of my expectations. The pasta was cooked slightly past al dente, and I was hoping for more of the bold, spicy kick you'd expect from a Cajun dish, but the flavors never really came through. To top off the evening, our server surprised me with a complimentary birthday dessert, allowing me to choose anything on the menu. That was such a thoughtful touch. We shared the cheesecake, which was served in a half mason jar with whipped cream, a chocolate "Happy Birthday" plaque, and a candle. I requested the blueberry compote on the side since I wasn't sure we'd enjoy it. While it ended up being a bit sweeter than our preference, it complemented the tart cheesecake filling nicely. The only thing that caught me off guard was that the cheesecake was served warmer than expected. On a hot summer evening, I was anticipating a chilled dessert. Overall, I had a fantastic experience. The attentive service, comfortable atmosphere, and the fact that we never felt rushed--even after spending about two and a half hours at dinner--made for a memorable birthday celebration. While my entrée didn't quite hit the mark, I'd gladly return to try another dish with a bolder flavor profile.
