Where do i start... used to love this place...NOT anymore. Went with friends on friday. It was dead. The first thing we noticed was the the staff were all drinking behind the bar. When our server finally came to take our order she was so intoxicated that we could not understand what she was saying. SMH. when i asked her to please repeat herself, she had the audacity to get mad. (Seriously?) Its really a shame beczuse this used to be a great place. They need to fire the new owner, Chelsea. I visited this place 2 years ago while working in the area and had a good time so I decided to come back. They play good music and the drinks are priced fairly. I ordered a whiskey and ginger ale and some hot wings. The wings are pretty good, nothing to brag about but they without a doubt are good. Seems like a popular spot amongst locals as staff knew majority of the guest on a first name basis. It really has that bar and grill vibe and the staff has high energy. Popped in for what I thought would be a quick visit but stayed longer because this was a fun spot. Ogeis offers food, music, alcohol, and hookah. On this visit, good crowd and energy. I ordered blueberry mint hookah. Very nice flavor to smoke. I ordered their Philly sandwich. It was decent. Went there for some hookah and drinks during happy hour and the customer service deserves a 5 star rating for sure. My server (Fay) was outstanding! She was constantly checking in with my table and with the rest of the guests to see if anything was needed, super kind, super fast with bringing out orders and making sure everyone was taken care of. Randomly stopped into this place on a Wednesday afternoon because my sister needed to use the bathroom. The lady at the bar was super friendly and welcoming. A large group of my friends and I were there yesterday evening and we received the WORST SERVICE we have EVER experienced!! The server was the bartender as well as our server. He was slim, had a beard and wore a baseball hat. We strongly believe he was either drunk or high on drugs. Every time he would come over he would start hitting on the women at our table. He kept my friend's credit card for an hour after she asked him to close her tab. When she went to get it from him he gave her attitude, said he's not going to charge her then asked our two friends why they were friends with her. Another girl asked to order a drink and he walked up to her and TOUCHED HER LEG!!!! Several of us witnessed this happen. He then proceeded to ask her if she would put a $20 tip for the drink. I asked him "Are you ok?! Are you OK?!" And he said "why do you have to be mean?" I went to ask another server if our server was intoxicated. Shorty after, our server came back and started YELLING at me and he said "just because I'm having fun, doesn't mean I'm intoxicated! I heard what you said!" At this point one of the guys with us went looking for the manager. A woman came over who said she was the manager, and we told her that the bartender had been harassing us the whole time we were there. She told him to leave us alone, but didn't do anything else. It seems like this is normal behavior for them. We are still in SHOCK at the behavior and harassment we received from the server. He should be fired immediately! The only good thing was the music when the dj came out. If you're the owner, I would suggest listening to your patrons and doing something about your staff! read more

I'm here to update my 5 star review. I used to lovveee coming here when the nice blonde lady used to run the bar. But we've gone 4 times in the past 4 months and regretted it every time. The food is always non seasoned & burnt these days. The food tastes like you're eating leather shoes. I remember in 2023 when everything was nice and fresh and the drinks were quality. The drinks are so watered down now, the amount of juice and syrup turns your stomach by the second drink and you won't taste any alcohol. This happens every time we go since they've had the male bartenders. It's almost as if they don't put any alcohol on it and try to pass it off as if it's a drink. Now for the service... straight TRASH. Don't go there thinking they'll be nice to you. They treat you like it's an inconvenience for you to be there. They pick & choose and are only nice to non blacks. Doesn't matter if you tip $30 on a $15 bill every single time because I make sure I overtip EVERY time. You get treated crappy every time. The new guys are rude af, rush you no matter how much you're spending and will make you feel unwanted in the establishment. The bartenders have crazy snappy attitudes even when you're being extremely nice just in case they're having a bad day. Not to mention, we usually wait 20-40 minutes for ONE drink. (In march it took 47 minutes to get our first drink). We ordered food but by the time an hour 20 came by, we decided we were over it. You have to run them down for your debit card after asking them to close the tab. All 4 times in the past 4 months they've been mean af to me for absolutely no reason. Good place good vibe and good hookah . Hookahs are not for single person so next when shared . Both price and amount of tobacco. Chicken kabob plate was amazing very flavorful. Atmosphere is nice . I've come here multiple times for happy hour with coworkers! Ogei's has some wonderful happy hour drink specials as well as appetizers specials!! I ordered the Old Bay Wings! They were fresh, hot and delicious!! The drinks are made very well! We sat outside in the hookah area when the weather was nice!! It's very nice out there! Pretty cool place but service is hit or miss, like mentioned by previous Yelpers. BP's work friends invited us out. There was one Hookah ordered for the table. The server did give individual tips to those who wanted to smoke, so I thought that was nice. BP and I stuck to food rather than smoking, but those who smoked seemed to like the mint melon hookah. If you want great service, with the best crowd of locals around, i highly recommend going to ogeis on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. The bartender that is there on those days is literally the best, pays attention to her customers, drinks are made well, and has the best energy. However, if you go on any other day when the other bartender with gray hair is there, be prepared for a completely different experience. She puts gratuity onto her customers checks even if you only buy 1 ginger ale. She will ignore you until you have to call her out, and says smart comments at every turn. I am happy to have a local hookah bar where my coworkers and I can enjoy hookah outside and drink and relax. With that said, this place could use some improvement. Sometimes I just don't want to hang out here for the following below. Service is pretty bad, slow or busy night. Don't sit and assume someone will come to you to see if you need another drink or anything. Mixed Drinks seem really watered down. You are safe with beer on draft. Shock top is my best personal choice. The hookahs seem fine. Again, if you need a repack, don't assume someone will come to you and ask. Go get help. The men's bathroom is always a mess. I don't think anyone cleans the bathroom regularly. I say this because there is no bathroom check sheet documenting hourly/regular checks. I also say this because if you start the night with a dirty toilet, it will only get worse. I'm talking about broken toilet seat cover, urine all over the floor, and paper towels on floor next to trash can. It looks like they repaired the walls and mirror. Well... I came here for my birthday with a few friends. We actually didn't have to wait very long to get a table or drinks. BUT... we did have to wait for everything else: A waitress. The menus. The hookah. The food. Geez. Good thing the music was awesome or I would've been really upset. When we finally got it going... the hookah was great and the food was delicious! THEN a cake fight broke out at the table next to us!! Really?? Cake everywhere! They almost knocked over our hookah and everything. Apparently another gal was celebrating her birthday too... her family and friends completely took over the entire venue. Smashing cake everywhere, smoking cigarettes and other substances in our faces, screaming and hollering so loudly. Then the DJ started playing only the music she wanted to hear! We had enough. Of course, we couldn't find our waitress when it was time to leave. Took us almost 45 mins to pay and get out of there!! A fight was starting to break out, so we signed our checks and ran out of there. Just as we were leaving, the cops showed up. Thank goodness we got out of there!! I hear it's nicer in the day time for lunch. I will just have to take their word for it right now. Not so sure I want to try it again anytime soon. read more

I've been going to Ogei's for a while now most of the staff was nice once i was able to get in, drinks are good, but prior to entering the security guard at the door was very unprofessional! Two of my friends and I were coming in on a Friday night and i have never been charged before, but this night was different he charged my friends and i $5 each and then got mad when i asked for change from my $20 bill also. It appears that he was under the influence on the job so i felt like he was pulling a fast one on me! Queen Peach Sheesha is THE BEST. The drinks are okay, not too potent and the ice is dirty. I never was charged a cover and we have spent MANY A NIGHTS here. It is one of the few things to do in gaithersburg in the summertime. outside hookah. they serve food, i havent eaten there but the staff is cool. they play music, smoke hookah and have fun while working. GHETTO! I just waited an hour plus for my hookah which was served by a another patron (will be calling the fda or whoever for that) and had to call the cops for my card back. They, Server Jessica and the owner who REFUSED to tell me his name, held my card hostage & again I had to call the police to get my card back. Police came and the staff was silent to the issues and gave me my card back. I used to come here all the time before they switched owners and I DO NOT recommend coming here anymore. They called me a liar for how long I waited and the owner was a disrespectful asking me why I WAITED to complain about the service after being sympathetic about there only being one server. WARNING*** The owner and staff are taking advantage and ripping off their patrons. Check your receipts, I saw this last night, once again 5/27/19. A gratuity of 18% for one meal. There is a federal law, set in place by the IRS in 2014 that prohibits servers and owners from using this practice for groups less than 6. He is trying to cook his books and save in taxes by using the patrons to pay extra on their service to compensate for lack of tips the servers are receiving due to half-ass poor customer service they provide. The owner does this so he does not have to payout his employees if they dont make what the state requires as minimum wage. If you get crap service from your server, which I have from Ogeis and i know others have as well, then the server should not be rewarded with more money when it's time to pay the bill. This law was set in place, so big parties (6 or more) dont leave skimpy tips, for hard working servers, but still allows smaller parties of 5 or smaller to tip a percentage on service received. Good get more and bad...... well you get it. We are being used and ripped off for our hard earned money. If I'm out alone or with a date or 3 friends and we get crap hookah, watered down drinks, and bad service all from the same server, you expect me or my friends to pay a 18% gratuity... get real!! Not to mention how many people did not catch this and put another 10%-20% tip for the server, who didnt deserve it. I made the owner aware of this back in 2016 and I saw it again last night and told the owner and he barred me from his place of dirty business...who cares. But since he is not willing to stop ripping customers off, I need to post this so you, my fellow patrons, know and have knowledge he is allowing this practice to happen. Watch your receipt, pay attention. I dont know what he will do after June 13, 2019 when all establishments in Montgomery County will no longer allow smoking, vaping, hookah smoke, or ecigs in or near any commerical facility. But that's his problem not ours. The owner has no experience, uses the establishment as his own personal hangout. The one good thing there is Sean...I think he is British. Why oh why did I not pay heed to the 2 star review from Zack H??? So there I was, with 3 co-workers, in town for a conference at NIST. None of us live in Gaithersburg and are not familiar with the restaurants. We needed to get some food and then get back to work. So out of haste we quickly settled on this one. As we walked through the cracked glass door one of the two waitresses behind the bar has an annoyed look on her face and says "can I help you?" I responded "seating for four please". She said to just go outside and find a table and they'd be with us. After a few minutes both the waitresses came to our table and dropped off 2 menus for the 4 of us. Then they came back with 2 more. Weird how they didn't really say anything the first time. Then they came back and the annoyed-looking one, who by the way looked like she was smuggling some wonder bread in her breasts (due to the distracting colorful polka-dot bikini under her see-through white button-up shirt), says "this is (name), she's in training today, ask them what they want to eat". The girl in training was shorter, looked like she was in high school, was also wearing a bikini under a white shirt and had an array of tattoos scattered about her body, says to all of us "What do you want to eat?" We were all kind of taken aback. She was trying to be a cheery person, but it was obvious that this was probably her first job and the first time she ever had to work customer service. She should have at least addressed one of the women first. But even before that, she didn't take our drink order while we sifted through the menus. So I interjected and said "how about you take our drink orders?" "Oh okay". Everybody took their turn telling her what they wanted. For water she actually asked if we wanted bottles. We noticed that she didn't write anything down and was off like a shot. She came and dropped off a can of coke for me and a can of sprite for my associate, then took off again. I looked at the top of the cans and they were disgustingly dirty. So when she came back I asked for a napkin or something to clean the tops off with. She took off again and showed back up with a couple of toothpicks. Before I could ask anything else, she took off and then came back with a couple of plastic cups. No ice, just cups. Then I asked for a napkin, to where she quickly took off again and fetched a napkin. Now it was time to take our lunch orders. She went around the table one at a time. I ordered something easy - the BLT with fries. Two people wanted the turkey BLT but with some modifications. Then the wonder bread waitress says "do you want cheese on that?" Both people said "sure". For some reason I had a feeling that customizing their orders was gonna get all jacked up. The funny thing is, the waitresses didn't write anything down. I thought to myself - "self, they either have memories like rain man, or they are going to F$%^$^ this SH#%% up." When the food came, mine was right. But everyone else's order? -All jacked up as I predicted. They told the newby what was missing so she took it back. Then wonder bread comes back and says "I asked you if you wanted the turkey cheese sandwich and you said yes." We were all like deers in headlights. Everybody was fuming. I just went with the flow. You could see the daggers in my co-workers eyes! My female co-worker from Jersey was about to flip that table and smack a b$%^. But everyone remained calm. The table next to us was experiencing the same problem. All their orders were messed up as well. As far as the taste. It's really hard to mess up a BLT. Mine was okay and they fries were hot. But that whole experience seemed like one of those days when you drink too much and stuff happens to you where you kind of know whats going on but can't really control what's going on and everything feels like your in dreamstate. It was kind of like that. If you happen to read this because you're in the area wondering where a good place to eat is. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS: A) You're a guy and you want a cheap thrill by staring at the girls and their tiggo bitties stuffed in polka dot bikinis because, the strip joints in DC are just too far of a drive. From word of mouth I decided to come back for happy hour with my bestie . WE HAD SO MUCH FUN . Our waitress was the co owner and she was on point . Drinks on point , food delicious and the hookah was awesome . We were chilling on the patio area and a few friends also came through for a good time. everyone else was mingling. Came here last night with my boyfriend and his friend. We Had to pay a $5 entrance fee which honestly I think is ridiculous for such a small place that just serves subs and hookah. The service was horrible, our server came by about 2 times and that's it. We had to go look for him if we needed anything including the bill. We ordered steak and cheese and payed extra $3 for fries and a can of soda. The food was good but way over priced. The environment is very nice and I would go back but I would not order food because it made the bill come out very high. $68 just for 3 sub combos and 1 hookah. I would only go back for the environment and to hang out. Also we ordered a strawberry hookah and when we finally get it we try it. It didn't taste like strawberry so we said something, the server said he had MIXED it and WASN'T going to tell us but since we noticed he did. Wtf? read more
