I was on the search for a decent priced rental car for a couple of days while my car was at the dealer and I found it with Hertz. The service was quick and great, the gentleman who helped us during pick up and drop off was friendly and helpful. The car, however, could used better maintanence. It looked as if the inside surface had been basically dusted but the nooks and crannies could use a good clean. To me, service is mainly what keeps customers coming back so it's a plus for me. Had the worst rental car experience here in my life! (And I've rented over 100 cars all over the world) Made a confirmed booking. When I went to pickup my car, waited for about 30 min before any help. Then they wanted to charge me over $100 (50% extra) for some random airport concession fees, even though this location is not at an airport and I didnt just fly in?! I told the rep my receipt and confirmation say should be $190, not $300+ charge. Brittany said i have to call Hertz to remove the extra fees. I was on hold for like 15 min. While on hold, I asked her why am I having to call Hertz when Im at Hertz right now and cant she remove the extra fees? She refused and in fact escalated things so much that she said she won't honor the reservation at all and I can just leave. Unbelievable! Brittany Ware, the branch manager, is a complete moron with a horrible attitude problem. (Maybe she just didn't her dozen donuts this morning and took it out on customers?) We were there right before 12pm on Saturday June 6th to pick up our rental. Our *scheduled* rental at 12pm. We walk in and the first thing that was said was 'we are closed' not 'hello! Good afternoon! Etc' The man who worked was incredibly rude, short with everyone and kept mentioning it was "his wife's birthday" 1. Not relevant to my reservation 2. Your wife's birthday is not problem. You working a Saturday is not my problem. The website and the on-site not being coordinated is NOT my problem. The man working was again incredibly rude, highly lacking in customer service and would not stop complaining. Also our rental had just shy of 3/4 of a tank. Why wasn't it full? Why were WE required to give more gas than received? The lady working 6/13 was LOVELY. The man on 6/6 should find a job where he doesn't interact with others. I can say that the people here at this location were perfectly decent to work with and seem to have had the general intention of being helpful. However, they did deliver a car to me with the flat tire indication on, which I took a picture of just to have as backup, just in case. As it turns out we drove from Denver to Keystone and later that same night the tire pressure was 26 psi, so we filled it up. The next morning we went outside before going to the lifts and discovered the pressure was down to 23 psi, so we went and tried to fill it up again. In this case the tire air machine didn't work (probably because it was -1 degrees). Regardless, we called roadside assistance who later had a driver meet us to change out the tire. Upon arrival the driver, who was great btw, said it was probably safer to fill up the tire and drive back to Denver than to install a doughnut spare for that drive through the mountains. So, that is what we did. Because of the air situation I was not comfortable driving the car the rest of our trip so I delivered it back to the location one day early. Calling Hertz Customer Service was pretty poor. All they would say is that I had to fill out a form, which I did to ask for the credit. The response from Hertz was nothing more than, paraphrasing "Thank you for being a valued client, we apologize for the inconvenience. Anyway, I'm not going to upend my life to try to get them to do anything differently, but I will not be using Hertz for my personal car rentals, and I am removing them as a vendor so our employees can no longer use them for their travel. It's not out of spite, just that having such an impoverished customer support system is too much of a tell that my staff would almost certainly be treated similarly should they ever have such an experience whilst traveling for work. read more

I would give Hertz Corporate, and this store, negative 5 starts if that was an option. I had a reservation set up by insurance. I couldn't use it until the car was due to go to the body shop. I got 2 phone calls a week from the store, and from corporate. I would call back, and YOU CAN ONLY TALK TO CORPORATE. There is no option on the phone tree to talk with the person at the store that called you. All the same, apparently they don't talk to each other. I would talk to one, and the other would call me a few days later. I talked to someone again, and round about the same. I finally got it set up for them to pick me up at 9am today at the body shop. No one showed. I called and finally got to speak with someone at the Aurora store. I spoke with BRITTANY. She was rude as hell right out of the gate. She told me they don't have my car, and they don't have my reservation, and that they would never agree to pick someone up at specific time, and especially at the distance I was. I got transferred to the Englewood store. No one there would answer. I called again with no answer. I got on the phone with corporate, and spent another 30 minutes on hold, and got told that they do have my reservation, but they would have to escalate the issue and someone would call me. Ultimately, I was able to call my insurance company and they got me a reservation with Enterprise. Enterprise came and got me and took care of me before Hertz called me back. In order to make this right, they told me they would have the vehicle ready and I could come and pick it up. Like I would waste more time after they made me miss one appointment, and made me late to another. Hertz, you know who I am, and you know how to reach me. This location is great! I have never rented a car prior recently to totaling my own. Thankful for my insurance covering a small portion of the rental, however SO SO grateful to Jeff, the District Manager, who really went above and beyond with the remainder of my reservation. I threw pretty much every imaginable problem at him and Jeff was able to assist with everything, even between being extremely busy with nonstop phone calls and several other guests as this location is fairly busy. I am truly thankful and not only has this gentleman secured at least 4-6 months of revenue from my business until I purchase a new car; I will be utilizing Hertz and this location any chance possible, and will be sending everyone I know here. Not only was Jeff great, but all other associates had a friendly demeanor and made the experience a positive one during a low point in my life. My experience with Hertz in Havana, and Brittani in particular, has been disrespectful and dangerous. Avoid this business at all costs. They rented a car to me that had warning lights regarding the front sensor and check engine. When I drive the vehicle back and asked for a different vehicle Brittani absolutely refused to switch vehicles. she said that they had other vehicles, and if someone else came in right then they would rent one to her, but they won't switch out my vehicle simply because "You don't lIke it ". She also said they are aware of the sensor issues but they don't think it's big deal ( I recorded the conversation). I'm stuck because Larry Miller Jeep is paying for the rental because of warranty work on my vehicle and they won't let me get a vehicle anywhere else. so frustrating and unsafe. read more

If I could give zero cars I would. The district manager was in today and had the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. I was fine talking to the nice young lady at the desk and he came hovering behind her micromanaging everything and getting in the conversation, unnecessarily escalating a situation that could have easily been fixed. I have rented cars here before and dealt with the same woman and never had an issue but now I see why this is so lowly rated. I have kids and work from my car I would have never rented a compact chevy spark. But that's what they little computer said so he decided to argue with me rather then make it right. And making it right was by charging me an extra $15 a day for a bigger car when the online difference was $4-6 because it was "last minute". And then proceeded to argue with me and escalate rather then be a manager. If this is what hertz has as upper management no wonder this location has 2 stars. read more

I rented a car through Hertz on June 5th 2023, for my trip for June 16th through June 20th when I picked up my car it was supposed to be a Malibu or similar they just rented the last Malibu said they put me in a Nissan Sentra, I said fine. Then all of a sudden the lady says I've got two other Chevy Malibus the white one needs to be detailed and the gray one I can bring right up to you or silver, I said that one's fine I received the vehicle tire pressure light on on the dashboard after I left the place I went & check my air pressure as I always do 25 lb of air in three tires 10 lb of air in the driver side rear tire. On my trip it got dark out and the rear window all you could see was a haze out like a fog with headlights behind you not a clear window it was covered with smoke film,this car was not detailed before it was rented to me. I had service maintenance of some kind on the dashboard the whole trip showing a big wrench and I'm worried about whether I'm going to make it there and or back. When I got back I complained about the smell of the smoke the hazy back window the front windshield only being halfway washed clearly seen it's a smoke Haze ashes in the bottom underneath the radio in a little tray I left all that there because I wanted them to see it didn't think they would believe me. But now I look at my credit card statement and they have charged me to clean that stupid f****** vehicle. You rent me a dirty piece of crap, and then charge me to clean the piece of crap you rented me no that won't happen. DO NOT RENT A CAR HERE! If there was a way to give a -1000 I would! They were so rude! They gave us a car that wouldn't even go an hour before they closed. We had to stay at the hotel the entire first day of the trip other than walking distance. We figured we would just wait until they opened after going to 3 other places that were all closed because the car was unsafe. We went back at 9am and they insisted we would either pay extra for the 2 gallons of gas we used driving from Hertz to Hertz looking for help or we could leave, take it to the station and lose more of our 3 day trip. When we tried to tell them why we believed that was an unfair request considering we hadn't been anywhere and had already lost a day. At this point the assistant manager began screaming at us. He screamed at me I wasn't even on the rental why am I even speaking , when clearly we were here on vacation together. Another man heard the yelling and came around the corner stating he was a "district" manager and was screaming so crazy at us that he was spitting. Told us we could have gone somewhere else and that if we lost so much time dealing with the broken car we better hurry up and go get the gas or he was just going to cancel our rental and we could walk. Mind you, we are two 50 year old ladies. So we go get the gas and when we come back I try to calmly approach the "district" manager and he doesn't want to hear anything I have to say....just wants to tell me that the assistant manager was right to tell me to shut up because I'm not on the rental paper. WTH is wrong with these people. From there it was just all stupid dealing with them. Ghetto, ignorant and the worst customer experience I have ever had. This place is terrible! I had a reservation booked through my car insurance. I got there just before closing on Thursday night. During the inspection of the car, I pointed out that the front tires were bald on the front wheel drive vehicle. He did not seem to care. Because I didn't have a choice. I took the vehicle and drove it home. It's important to note that we had a snow storm on Wed so the roads were not great. I live about a mile and a half from the rental place, and I almost got stuck three times in that mile and a half. Once I was home I realized that car was not safe and I decided I would return it in the morning. That night I made other arrangements for another vehicle. At 11 AM on Fri (18 hours after I brought it home) I returned it and told them it was unsafe to be in the road in these conditions! Again they didn't care! My insurance didn't cover the whole cost of the death mobile so I had to pay the difference of $19. They charged me for 2 days, 18 hours!! I will never patronize this place again!! If I had had an accident. U bet ur sweet bottom I would have sued them for allowing this unsafe vehicle on the road! read more

I personally came to Hertz to get a car through my insurance. I did not read any reviews until afterward as it was more necessity than choice. The team members I dealt with were nice and helped me with all the questions I had. The only complaint I have is that the phone completely shuts off after hours and if you have questions regarding an insurance rental you cannot use the automated lines so it is hard to get in touch. I did not experience any of the other issues outlined in the comments but that does not mean they don't happen. My last Hertz experience before this was horrendous and this experience rectified that slightly as the workers were nice and helpful. I would come back to this location. read more

My reservation had a pick up time of 12:00(Sat). I got there around 12:20 and as I reached for the door. The manager locked it in my face and said they were closed. He told me I was lucky to see him there so late because he had been helping someone else. He told me they would be open Monday at 7:30. Started out as a negative experience and has just gotten worse. When I picked up my rental, a manager who supposedly is a store manager or higher was rude. The car I was provided has been giving a low tire pressure warning since the third day I have had it. I have been just dealing with it by getting the air filled. I may have to go on a long distance trip soon. When I called to extend the rental today, I asked about getting that tire swapped out if I came in. I was advised since I didn't purchase their insurance that I am responsible for getting this fixed. A reputable rental company would just swap out the tire instead of saying it's your problem. I guess there's a reason it's called Hertz. It "Hertz" the customer instead if helping them, like they could have helped me today with the tire. Finally, the rep I spoke to could not give me the exact amount of the renewal for the two week period and was not willing to take the time to figure it out with the taxes. She just said she does not have a way to calculate it. Lazy and not customer oriented. Update as of 10/3: The representative I spoke with this morning gave me wrong information three times. After I spoke with a District Manager and told him my opinion about that experience, there was conveniently a note on my account stating repairs to my vehicle were finished and that if they were not finished; a new contract had to be written. This involves me coming to the location; which means I have to come in late to work due to yet another screw-up by someone at Hurtz. That spelling is not a mistake. Update as of 12/14: I had put in a reservation for 12/24. Apparently, this location is not only incompetent but; they don't like being called out on it either. I called them out on it during my previous rental. Today, I get a call from the District Manager stating they are canceling my 12/24 reservation due to the last experience when I rented with them. Does not know how to professionally navigate a conversation. They moved a van I returned to a location 25 minutes away AFTER I called them at 8:40 a.m. to inform them of the garage opener I left in there. The other location told me it was around 10-11 they got the van. I was disgruntled and would mumble something, he was very quick to act intimidating and confrontational with "what did you say". Had no problem instigating during the conversation. Basically said it was my fault for not retrieving my lost item, like I didn't do something right or try hard enough. And I was now responsible to chase it down. He made the nice girl at the desk call and find out if they even had it. Doesn't have any care for customer satisfaction and is very reactive. Customer service started off great. Service was quick. When the service started to go down hill when I happen to over hear a phone conversation that one of the employees was having. The lack of empathy that the "general manager" had for customers calling that were unable to book due to the high volume of rentals from the recent hail storm. I don't want to take any chances if it happens again. The staff member just assumed sense I was there with a insurance claim that she didn't need to ask the proper questions. The sheer disrespect of the employee was infuriating. We called and told them and they told us they close at 5:30pm sharp when their website says 6pm. We arrived at 5:29pm and they were not helpful at all and rude. I had made a reservation at a hertz office on colfax st but had a unfortunately bad experience with Uber delivery so moved my reservation to the Havana st office. The office is pretty shabby but the people were very nice to deal with. Jeff gave me a choice of two cars to rent and honored the price I was quoted at the other store. The only down side to this location is that they close at noon on Saturday and don't open until Monday. You do have the option of dropping the car off and leaving the key in a lock box. read more

Mind you they close at noon, so when we arrived there they were closed. No call to check in with us or notify us 'hey FYI we close at noon.' We were stranded in a city we had no clue about with luggage and a huge tent. We were frantically ubering around and calling to find another rental company before everyone closed. This place is an absolute joke. Waited in line for over an hour. ONE person ahead of me and "3 chicken's with their head cut off" trying to look busy. Literally the worst managed car rental office I've ever been to. The lady upfront is rude, and the boss man just sat in the back office the entire time. This is at 9 am on a Monday. I've rented from tons of car rental places... I will never be back. I've called before and been told that there isn't a car available until next week! Over 6 days away!!
