Quantell was the worst! F- AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Absolutely awful experience at this Hertz location. I waited about 30 minutes just to even be acknowledged, while a full office of customers stood around getting more and more frustrated. At one point there were around 8 people waiting, and instead of managing the counter or helping clear the line, the manager, Quantrell, was outside lazily and slowly washing cars while the office backed up. It was unbelievable to watch. When I finally got helped, I was told there were no rentals available unless I wanted to pay a lot extra for an slightly upgraded vehicle. My other option was to be put on a waiting list as "number 4" and wait by the phone. Seriously. So instead of honoring reservations or offering real solutions, this place seemed more focused on pushing customers into paying more even after we all had to wait long. The customer service only got worse from there. One employee the older lady with the dyed red hair was rude, combative, and completely unpleasant to deal with. Quaytrell was no better. He was misleading, unhelpful, and clearly not capable of managing the location. He even told me other rental companies would probably be out of cars too, which turned out to be a complete LIE!!! I walked over to Enterprise and was in a car within 10 minutes, with multiple vehicles sitting right there on the lot. The Hertz glendale location had no idea what they were doing, did not care, or both, probably both. Unqualified people are working here, Quartell is a complete joke. He got vengenance and charged me a $28 no show fee after telling me he cancelled the order, Quantell never cancelled and I knew he was bad news from the start. This was easily the worst rental car experience I have ever had. Disorganized, badly managed, misleading, and completely unprofessional. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else, this place is not worth the discount, I think it's going to close soon, the employees are so bad here and read the reviews they are ALL BAD! Amazingly unprofessional and shoddy, even by car rental agency standards, and we came in with low expectations. We showed up on time for a reservation pickup. Waited for ten minutes in the tiny reception while people chatted away in the office ten feet away. They told us the car we ordered was not available, we were told we could come back later that day for the car we had reserved...but they couldn't guarantee that they would have a car then either. The sales associate found this funny apparently. They couldn't tell us if there were any other locations in the area that had the car we had reserved. They also couldn't/wouldn't cancel the reservation, which led to us having to call the main Hertz number and cancel it ourselves in front of them. Absolutely useless. read more

I rent from this location a lot. The customer service is excellent and the selection of vehicles is perfect. The vehicles are well maintained and full of gas. From time to time they do get busy, I recommend making a reservation online. read more

First time renting a car since my car was being repaired and decided to pick this location since it's close by to where I live. I'm glad I chose this location because the staff was super helpful and nice. The gentleman there is really nice and had incredible customer service! So did another woman named Alexis. I rent cars fairly regularly. There are three within a reasonable distance to my home. By far, my favorite is enterprise on Hillhurst. Avis on Hollywood is OK. This hertz is the worst. I would recommend only if it's the only available option. read more

Do not go to this Hertz location if you have a Chase banking account or a credit card with a chip, they only accept a credit cards with a strip (Not sure who still has credit cards with out a chip??). Don't find yourself in a position where you're stuck at the shop with no car to rent and out of your control. Everyone there was really nice but the system they use is terrible. read more

the absolute worst !! i would NEVER work with Hertz, ever again. i made a reservation for a 9:30 pick up and had an email confirmation of the booking. walked into this location, my own car in for repairs and needed to be at work - hence the rental reservation AND the time booked. no car - nothing guaranteed - very lackluster apology and saying i could be put on a waitlist 'if something comes in ..' completely mind blowing - no way to do business, incredibly unprofessional. my suggestion - NEVER give this company business as i will never do - total BOYCOTT. what a nightmare. This place is a COMPLETE joke. Words can't express what an insanely horrible experience we had. DO NOT RENT YOUR CAR HERE. Everyone was waiting for an hour+. They gaslight all the customers and are extremely unprofessional. The cars are not ready and there is a very small fleet. No one is getting the car they paid for online and if they don't have a car in the same class you paid for, they will bump you to the next level and you will have to pay extra for that. LEX was childish and unprofessional and passive aggressively attacked me and when I brought this up to Quanzell (the branch manager), the response was, "It's Friday, what do you want me to do about it." He then responded with, "It's OK!!! (is it?!)) I apologize. ARE WE GOOD, ARE WE GOOD, ARE WE GOOD (repeatedly)." Horrible business. Booked ahead on managers special for $60 and prepaid. Showed up at my pick up time at 4PM and all of a sudden they have "no cars left" besides electric and or an unnecessary luxury vehicle for my reservation of less than 12 hours of use. Apparently, electric cars can't go to the airport pickup location. So, my only option is to pay $40 additional (166% of what I agreed to pay), no additional discount given or anything. So, I decided to cancel. However, they can't give me a refund there at the location(shocker), and I have to call a phone line and wait on hold until I can reach somebody that can. She then accused me of using a third party website to book (which I did not) and when I corrected her, she had nothing to say. The entire time, the coworker was calling others in the company and talking loudly next to the last helping me in a tiny front office. Actually think it may have been the manager, which is embarrassing in and of itself. Overall, pretty bad experience, but I should have expected that from Hertz. Hopefully will have options going forward where I won't have to return ever again. read more

After claiming to not accept my credit card, the geniuses at this dump turned me away, then had the nerve to charge the very card they claimed they didn't accept. I have been requesting a refund for weeks and after a futile call with a foreign call center, have to go into this joke of a business to demand my money back. Super scammer vibes. Horrible Customer Service, they have a 2 hour grace period or your loose your reservation for the car without any notification that they are going to give your rental away. Not even a call or text. The receptionist was just sitting when we arrived and it took us about 20 mins to see a manager only to let us know that they don't have any cars available. WTH is the point of reserving the car. Doesn't matter what time we arrive it was pre paid already. Plus they can't even issue us a return only through calling hurts. Horrible customer service and horrible company policies. What a bunch of clowns. This used to a great location a few years ago, i exclusive got my rentals from the brand location but now it the worst. Who is managing this location? I went in to get my rental and now they have a policy that you need to wait 24 hours if using a debt card, it was frustrating because I used to rent all the time with a debit card and always brought back the vehicle in perfect shape. I decided to come back on day 2 when the 24 hours was past and now they cant accept my id with no reason given. Most places would offer an alternative or at least great customer service but not this location. All i got was "cant rent, goodbye". The manager was not at the location both days and there is no way to call him. How are these idiots still in business? read more

I rented a car back in the summer and wasn't going to leave a review until I booked a car to use today and they didn't call to let me know that they had no cars available so i wasted money on an uber to get there. They told me they had 31 reservations and no cars available ?! If they had just picked up the phone and let me know I wouldn't have left the review. But now that I am I'll speak on my experience in the summer too. I booked a car for 12 days for a road trip and I selected the suppliers choice which was not my best idea and it was only about a $20 difference total in cost to get a compact car but usually the suppliers choice is a compact car which I was completely fine with. When I got there they wanted to give me a gigantic trunk. I'm pretty sure they could tell by looking at me and the distance I was going I would not be comfortable in a truck. I asked how much more it would be to get the cheapest small car and it was $180 more. Lesson learned. I'm sure if I was a young guy that would not have been the car they chose. They just have horrible customer service. I still can't fathom that they have 31 reservations and no cars and are not calling to let anybody know in advance. Last week I called this office because my own car was hit and was going to be repaired nearby. I had a very difficult time reaching a human in this office. Several times, I was on hold for very long periods of time and eventually hung up. Ultimately it was only after State Farm contact this office and gave them the authorization that someone from this Hertz office called *me*. I explained to her that I needed a car the next day. I told her I'd be at a body shop nearby and asked if someone from Hertz could pick me up at the body shop to take me to Hertz to pick up the car. She said yes. So, we completed the rental-reservation process. I told her I'd be arriving at the body shop at 1pm and asked how I would contact her office to let them know I was ready to be picked up. She said all I had to do was call when I was ready. I explained that I had previously called several times, but that no one had answered--so I was concerned about reaching them, the next day. But she said, "Don't worry. I'll be looking out for your call around 1pm tomorrow." I was skeptical, but I agreed. Well, you can see where this is going. The next day, from the auto-body shop, I called this Hertz office THREE TIMES, and no one EVER answered. I even called the national office and asked to be transferred to this Glendale office, but nothing I tried worked. The folks at the auto-body shop, realizing my dilemma, recommended I use Enterprise instead. I'm not particularly fond of Enterprise, but the body shop called them, and within 5 minutes, a driver had appeared to take me to Enterprise. Earlier, I had received some texts from Hertz, confirming my reservation, so I replied to their text and said, "I'm at the body shop right now, and I've called you *three times* , but no one ever answers the phone. You have wasted my time. So, I'm going with Enterprise instead." And that's what I did. Despite my previous impressions of Enterprise, their Glendale office was very accommodating, and I got what I needed. No lock box to drop car key overnight or early morning. I arrive next day during business hours and wait to return vehicle, 3 customers ahead of me. Finally one of 2 associates calls me over for return. When I tell her the car was towed in overnight, she waives me off and says I have to continue waiting. She cannot help me for a complex return. Quite possibly the WORST car rental place in the world. I've rented from Hertz in LA, Burbank. Long Beach, Sacramento, Bordeaux France, and Nice France. Perhaps the financial struggles at Hertz have added to this, but customer care is non existent. I remember a time when hertz had courteously picks and drop offs, then ride share vouchers, but no more. The level of rudeness by the staff, particularly the lady with red hair, is pretty atrocious. Rented a car from hertz. Showed up to the rental place at 5:05 pm. The door was locked and they all literally looked at me through the door and would not let me in or rent me the car because they "closed at 5:00pm". When looking on their website this location was said to close at 6:00pm. It was so cruel of them. After spending $40 on ubers each way just to show up to get a rental they refused to even speak to me. I would say horrible customer service and rude individuals. Also false advertisement.
