I really enjoyed my dinner at this Thai spot in FiDi. The interior design from the entering the restaurant to being seated really makes you feel like you left the city temporarily. Looking through their cocktail menu, I noticed everything was made from sake. Not hating on it, just an observation I noticed. We got the Chiang Mai Lady ($16), which was made from Japanese plum wine, sake, lemon juice, cranberry juice, ginger-infused syrup, and fragrant rose water. Sounded like an interesting combination of ingredients and tasted pretty decent. I personally ordered the Thai Coffee Martini ($15), which was on their specials menu. This is made from Thai coffee, sake, and Baileys coffee cream. Good drink to get to stay awake with a Thai twist. For appetizers, we ordered the Thai Dumpling Curry in the Ocean ($14), also from their specials menu. This was more of a vegetarian dish made mainly with chives and mushrooms soaked in Massaman curry. Great for the vegetarians out there. We also got the Grilled Shrimp Mango Salad ($16), which I was surprised how well it tasted. It may have been my favorite dish out of everything we ordered. For entrees, we ordered the Drunken Noodle w Duck ($27). Duck was prepared well. I ended up having this as leftovers for lunch the following day and the duck still tasted great along with the noodles. We also got the Seafood Pineapple Curry ($38), which was massive as they served the dish in a gutted pineapple and anything that didn't fit in the pineapple in its own bowl. Comes with white rice. This definitely can feed two people alone. Did we have room for dessert? No, but we always make room. We settled on their Ube Ice Cream Cup ($12), which was a lot larger than I thought it would be. It's meant to be shared. I loved the touch of diced fruits on the side, which goes well with the ube ice cream.

What a cute little restaurant in the Financial Distract. The restaurant is bright and fun. The staff was attentive but rather loud. Probably do to customer base. Restaurant was basically empty. Good was delicious!

Came here while in town celebrating the Knicks win. The spot was not far from the Pier 11 area. We walked here from our hotel in the Wall street area. Most restaurants were over crowded with long waits but we lucked up when we popped in! There was no wait. We ordered drinks and food. The chicken satay was good. It was paired with a peanut sauce and a pickled sauce. Both were good with the chicken. I got the shrimp pad thai which was also good. Not that many shrimp but i do know it is expensive these days. I would go back while in town

Cute interior space with cherry blossoms and other colorful decor. Service is good, waters are always refilled and they take your order quickly. Onto the food, I loved my half chicken with papaya salad and sticky rice. This was so so good. The papayas salad had some sort of fish sauce dressing which cut through the richness of the roast chicken. The sweet chili sauce was also a great addition. Sticky rice was wonderfully chewy with a crisp exterior. Unfortunately, my friend did not like her pad see ew at all and barely touched it all dinner. I felt terrible but she didn't want any of mine. She said it's very hit or miss here and to be honest, it really just looks ok to me as well visually. The noodles don't seem very bouncy or fresh and the sauce wasn't great. Maybe was an off day. Prices are very reasonable for FiDi.

Conveniently located near South Street Seaport and Circle Line Cruises. Not super authentic Thai ( don't expect Thai level spice), but the food and portions are good and the staff was helpful. Lovely decor and a lot of seats, but can be a long wait for walk-ins. The lemongrass soup didn't have much flavor so I would skip that one.

We went to Hey Thai for our lunch with friends. It has cozy interiors. We ordered Appetizers platter and it was delicious. For main course; we ordered pineapple fried rice and drunken noodles. They were fab too. For dessert: We got mango sticky rice. The mango wasn't ripe and was definitely not a Thai mango. However the rice pudding tasted good despite the odd coloring. The staff was humble too. Will definitely visit again.

We went to Hey Thai for dinner on a Saturday night. It's a beautiful restaurant and they have delicious Thai and Pan-Asian Fusion food. The drinks were great! The staff members were friendly and accommodating. We had such a great dining experience.

Lunch from Hey Thai was okay. I ordered the drunken noodles as part of an office group order for delivery, and found the spice level to be pretty good. There was a nice heat in each bite, evenly spread through the dish. The noodles were okay, the consistency was decent, if not a bit soft for some bites. Chicken in the dish was fine. But the dish overall was a bit bland and a little heavy on the oil for some bites. There wasn't a lot of taste to the noodles beyond the spice alone, it left a bit to be desired.

Feels like a solid 3.5. Ordered a takeout and they taste not bad even after a five mins walk. Pad Thai with shrimp $18 was alright. Noodles is Al dente not mushy. It's also right amount of sourness. Shrimp is big, deshelled and bouncy. Crab rangoon was not good. Four piece for $9. But I couldn't taste any crab, not even fake crab meat. It's just sweet cream cheese inside. Don't recommend. Curry roti appetizer $10 was pretty good. Roti probably is deep fried so it's super greasy so it only taste good for the first two pieces. The curry however is the highlight of this meal. Taste so good and flavorful.

Hey Thai was great. So glad my hubs and I stumbled in. We were really hungry and had walked past this restaurant the entire time we were staying at our Airbnb in NY. It sat right on the corner of the block. We finally wandered in after my daughter mentioned that she loved it and that we should try it. We walked in and it was so cute, and the greeting was the best. They were very warm and friendly. The service was amazing. As for ambiance -- SO CUTE! Very well manicured, clean, and curated. Now for the main question: how was the food? Wonderful! The pad see ew was excellent, the shrimp curry was on point, and the portions were shareable. We loved it and will be back! It's a great, quiet, and chill vibe -- perfect for a reflective or deep conversation, or a "I just want to be with you" date. Check them out!

Overall: C // 3 stars Running a generous promotion on Uber Eats with significant value takeout food. However, it seems like the flavor profile is also on discount as there are some critical ingredients lacking from what otherwise could've been a solid arrangement of food. (Chive Pancake: C) - The sauce has a delicious savory, acidic, and sweet profile. I like the chive component, but it needs more chive to make it taste like eating a big blob of mochi. (Pad Thai: C) - A large plate of pad thai, but when I first tasted it, I was incredibly disappointed to find that it had no flavor. When I retossed it on a wok, it seems like the flavor profile was correct, but it just seemed like someone forgot to add any amount of salt. (Pad See Ew: B) - Similar to the Pad Thai, this dish needs to be better seasoned. That said, there was a light soy note that could be tasted, and would be even better if it was intensified. The beef was tender. (Tom Kha: F) - The flavor profile of this soup was incredibly problematic as it tasted like coconut water and lacked most of the spices built to make the soup have its distinctively captivating flavor. Ran in for a quick lunch. Service was quick and efficient. I had a shrimp pad Thai. I was impressed with the pad Thai. I hate a dry noodle but this one was saucy! The shrimp were large. Love a good NYC takeout and this hit the mark.

A group of us visited this restaurant after an event. The restaurant had very nice decor on the inside. The servers were nice and able to seat our large party pretty quickly. The waitress even helped me to choose a good appetizer. I got the Thai pancakes which were very tasty. The sauce served with them wasn't needed but was a nice addition to the dish. I wasn't as enthused by my entree. It was not as flavorful as I thought it would be. The salmon had a nice sear but not well seasoned. I would definitely try again but choose another entree. read more

What a cute Thai restaurant! The decor was very bright, pretty and floral. We were sat promptly and we immediately ordered cocktails and the Hey Thai platter appetizer. The platter was great! I loved being able to try the coconut shrimp, the chicken satay, the chive pancake, the shrimp dumplings, spring roll and golden bag. Soooo tasty. I decided to order the Panama curry with shrimp. My cousin got the seafood pineapple curry! It was huge and so delicious!! We definitely had leftovers. The service was great and attentive. I'm definitely glad we chose to come here. Stumbled across this restaurant after I saw how lackluster the Winter event at the Watermark was and I was happily surprised. Drooping flowers everywhere gives it a feminine touch. It's nice to enter a space that takes you out of the concrete jungle. Now, for the food. Everything was delicious. Generally, I don't think you can go wrong with Thai but I'm happy this spot held that message to be true. Everything was fresh and came out quickly. Hosts/waiter came around with a smile and took our orders. He didn't speak English too well, but it didn't really matter since it was easy to point at the menu. Amd I don't know if it's because I was going to a specialty event at the Watermark, but I just thought it was so affordable for the area. read more

Might of caught them on a bad day but I came because I was craving Thai food and park slope has such a large number of thai restaurants that I ventured out to try a new place. I really was craving some spicy eggplant stir fry so I ordered just that. right off the bat I noticed the prices on the menu were slightly cheaper than other places (in terms of their lunch special) but you get what you pay for because the portions are smaller. Sadly the eggplant dish didnt really hit the spot, the eggplant was undercooked and it didnt have enough sauce so it felt like I was just eating eggplant that was stirred around in a pan for a bit with some soy sauce. It was still mostly edible , but there was one bite where the eggplant was evidently still raw. My rice was also not great because by the time I got to the bottom of the pile the rice was all stuck together, hard, like it was dried out from the bottom of their rice cooker. The staff is friendly and the restaurant has nice seating but I'm not sure if the food was my cup of tea. read more

In a mood for some warm Thai food during this cold winter, so my friend and I stumbled across this quaint little place. The interior was decorated so nicely with a lot of flowers and a bunch of Christmas decorations. It wasn't too big of a place but they were still able to have a lot of seating. We were seated immediately and handed menus. Pad See Ew with beef (4/5): It's hard to go wrong with Pad See Ew and this one was really good! It had a lot of beef parts and was the perfect amount of sweet and savory you would expect from a good Pad See Ew. Chicken Khao Soi (5/5): The star of the show!! All the flavors were perfect and it was the perfect amount of spicy (as someone with low spice tolerance). The soup was delicious and warm. They had plentiful amount of chicken bits and I lovedd the noodles that were used! I would definitely come back, especially for the Chicken Khao Soi and the cute ambience of the restaurant! read more

Hey Thai is a beautiful establishment located in a beautiful part of NYC matching the vibe and aesthetic of the vibrant city atmosphere. Beautiful indoor decor and style, with spacious seating and high ceilings. The venue overall is clean and bright! The Chicken Pad Thai was good, as well as the Crag Rangoon! The menu is full of options with many things to try, and I decided to try something new. The name is escaping me (pictures below), the violet/blue colored dish was sent back. It wasn't good and the texture wasn't for me. The cocktails were delicious! The end of my visit was rushed as they closed 10 minutes before their scheduled time of close. I was the only individual in the restaurant and I guess there was an assumption that I was almost done. It wasn't a good feeling. Cute little Thai spot that we spontaneously decided to grab dinner at. We were able to talk in and promptly get a table. We ordered Pad Thai with tofu and spring rolls. I came by with a friend for a quick weekday dinner; we got here around 6pm and got seated immediately. I ordered the pad see ew with chicken, which was delicious. The chicken was tender, noodles chewy and flavourful, and overall the dish was just exactly how I like my pad see ew. The portion size was pretty big (I ended up packing up roughly a third of it). My friend ordered the basil entrée (?) with tofu and chicken, which was also really tasty. Basil flavour definitely came out, not too spicy, and the tofu was surprisingly well cooked (not dry or too hard). Price point was quite good, too - for sure better than what I expect from this neighbourhood haha. I'd definitely come back! read more

Came here on a Sunday and most of the booths were filled. I loveeee the ambiance and decor of the restaurant - I caught myself admiring the ceiling and interior a few times! We ordered a Hey Thai Platter, Chicken Pad Thai, and Chicken Drunken Noodle. The Hey Thai Platter was very fresh and came out piping hot. Everything was tasty however, I wasn't a huge fan of the texture of the Golden Bags - it was a bit too mushy for my liking, but flavor was decent. The Chicken Pad Thai was on point flavor-wise. However, I wish it was a tad bit wetter. It got kinda dry after eating it for a while. The Drunken Noodle was definitely saucier and more flavorful, but I've personally never really liked the taste of the dish so I can't give a fair rating. It was spicy though so if you're into that, you might like it. The service here was great, everyone was friendly and food came out at a good speed. They kept refilling our water and came over to ask if everything's okay a few times. Not the best or cheapest Thai food that I've had, but I would be down to come back to try their lunch special if I'm in the area! read more

Blown away by the decor as soon as you walk in! The restaurant is stunning and perfect for pictures. They offer a really great lunch special during the weekdays. The ambiance of this place is amazing! I love how small but yet dynamic and cozy this place is. It's almost romantic to take on a date. Aside from the nice ambiance, the food is great! I been to many Thai places in the west coast and for a Thai place in the east coast, this is pretty unique. The sweat and sour fish dish was really good! It was fried with sweat seasoning that gives you that Thai flavor similar to Chinese sweat and sour chicken but more of Thai flavoring. You have to try their peanut dumplings though! I feel that the peanut dumpling was something unique in this case. Most Thai places I've been to do not offer this. It was not only unique but the taste was chewy and just very balanced flavor. The peanut doesn't just hit but felt so balance along with tenderness of the dumplings! I would come back here to try out other dishes! read more

Had an early dinner here and got the drunken noodles, lemongrass pork chop, and Tom yum soup with vegetables. The soup was amazing with the right amount of tartness and a hint of spiciness. There were a variety of vegetables in it and I felt very healthy eating this. The drunken noodles were flavorful. The pork chop however came out room temperature... I have been the Hey Thai a few times for dinner, but this was my first time ordering take out. The restaurant for dinner is a cute spot, with nice decor and solid food. Nothing revolutionary. I ordered the red curry lunch special which comes with a vegetable soup. I asked to switch it to a different soup but unfortunately they don't allow substitutions. No issue though, I understand the no substitutions policy, just FYI if you go. I waited for about 15 mins before getting my food, and they have cute swinging benches to sit on while you wait. The red curry was full of veggies but not a lot of actual curry. I appreciate them filling the veggies and tofu, but there wasn't enough liquid to really soak my rice. I wish there was, because it had good flavor! I've ordered this in restaurant for dinner before and didn't experience this. The vegetable soup is....weird. There is not much flavor and the vegetables have an odd odor. Overall, I like Hey Thai. It's a solid neighborhood Thai spot. read more

Super cute restaurant - it's like walking into a little garden! I am not downtown often and was looking for a lunch spot for myself and a colleague. I am happy that I found Hey Thai. They have a weekday lunch specials menu that we ordered from. My go-to dish when trying a new Thai restaurant is Pad Thai, so I had it with chicken and side salad. It was really good and flavorful. My colleague had the Spicy Basil Fried Rice. Our servers were friendly and attentive. Service is also very quick. I would definitely dine here again when I'm in the neighborhood. read more

Saturday Lunch! Came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We did not have reservations. Upon arrival we were greeted by the hostess and told they only had 2 tables available for a party of 2 without reservations. We picked the 2nd option which was towards the back. The tables are very close together... so close I felt like I was apart of the conversations the other tables were having. After a quick scan of the menu we chose the Thai Shrimp Dumplings as an app along with Lemongrass Porkchop for me and Duck Curry for my BF's meal. The curry for the Duck was very good but the Duck was mainly fat. The shrimp dumplings were very tasty and the dipping sauce mixed well with the flavors. I also tried 2 cocktails, both were very juice like. Starting with the mango mojito which was overly sweet, finishing with a coffee martini which reminded me of a chocolate milkshake. Hey Thai is the perfect photo op....Everywhere you look there's a chance for cute photos. Overall I would rate my experience a 3.5. read more

Such a great neighborhood Thai spot! It's definitely a go to for lunch in FiDi. Quick service and the lunch combo is a great value with a choice of vegetable soup or salad and an entree. I really wanted to like this place, but the experience fell flat because of the service. They close at 10, which is totally fine, but we were reminded of that repeatedly throughout the evening to the point where it felt like we were being rushed out. Cool Thai spot my friends and I went to for one of my best friend's birthday lunch! I checked in on yelp for the free thai iced tea but to me, it wasn't as tasty as I expected. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed the curry puffs, spicy wings, curry roti, shrimp pad thai, chicken drunken noodles, spicy chicken basil fried rice, thai dumpling curry in the ocean, and the green curry! Our table ordered green papaya salad and fried pork belly for the appetizers. Both pretty good. I had penang curry with shrimp which came with a side of rice. It was delicious and I really enjoyed it; I should've asked for it to be a little spicy and I'm sure it would have been even better. It was a good sized portion and I'm going home with leftovers. My family got roast chicken which was light and not too salty. You can never go wrong with the classic pad Thai. The waiters were very kind. The restaurant is very cozy and they played nice music. 1. The place was decorated very nicely. The owner definitely put a lot of thoughts into it. There are five booths that are super comfortable and spacious: it is however reserved for reservations first and then open to walk ins first come first serve. 2. The food is great. The staff will explain the menu if you ask and they have another seasonal menu with new dishes. I like spicy dishes and their spices won't disappoint. 3. Overall very good service. I've ordered from Hey Thai quite a few times and it's okay. I get the dishes with Tofu and it's fine, standard fried tofu cubes. Good: - Pad See Ew. Can be a little mushy but it's tasty and good comfort food. Mid: - Pad Thai. Nothing really to write home about. - Pineapple Fried Rice. Heavy on the curry powder but still is pretty bland. Wish there were cashews or something else in it to add some more flavor and texture. - Summer Roll. It was fine - healthy and refreshing. Bad: - Massaman Curry. This was a bizarre curry to the point where it compelled me to write a review - it came LOADED with cabbage. Some of the larger potato pieces were undercooked. There was a lot of carrot and onion which I didn't mind, though I didn't like the red onion. The curry itself was pretty mild, bland, and watery (maybe because of all of the cabbage??). I was expecting peanuts to be there based on the description. Overall I was just surprised it was loaded with vegetables with relatively little curry sauce, and what sauce was there was pretty flavorless. I ended up throwing most of it away because the tofu itself needs flavor and the curry wasn't adding anything. - Mango Sticky Rice. The mango was not ripe and the rice itself was globby and blue for some reason which might have been a style choice but it was off putting. - Fried Calamari. It's been a while since I had this but the texture + flavor of the calamari wasn't good/was a bit fishy and almost ruined my appetite. Overall I think this place is okay for the area. Started off with the tom kha, and to be genuinely honest I'm not sure if there's anything in the broth except coconut milk.. You can already tell by the color here that this soup is 90% coconut milk, which should be an ingredient not the whole base. Don't think I can finish this one unfortunately. I came here with a friend yesterday and it was one of the best Thai spots I ever had. It was pretty quiet yesterday and we came around 5pm. I ordered the black pepper steak and it was rich with sauce and flavor. Inside was very pretty and definitely worth it for the gram haha. The panang curry had a great blend of sweet and savory flavoring and not too much spice. The crab meat fried rice tasted fine and had good flavoring, but it was just a tad salty. this is one of the worst Thai restaurant I've ordered from in all of New York. I love Thai food and I've tried many places across the city. Pad Thai - so so so bland, 95% noodles, 5% peanuts, chicken and scallions. Drunken noodle - overcooked mushy noodles, weird flavor not the typical flavor of pad kee mao (I tasted no oyster sauce or soy sauce), and there were so many carrots and broccoli in there... Red curry - the flavor of the curry was actually good and thank god for , but this was like 80% green bell peppers. Their food was tasty, their prices were also affordable, portion sizes were good, their service was fast, the restaurant was decorated so beautifully, they had amazing customer service, and the restaurant was also spacious. I also liked how when I went, it wasn't crowded. I definitely recommend everyone to check them out! Also the restaurant is beautifully decorated and spacious. It has a tropical/bohemian decor to it. Now folks, this is my favorite curry of all time -- actually one of my favorite foods of all time -- and while it's common in LA where I used to live, it's not as common where I live now, in the Bay Area. And the restaurants that do carry it usually do not make it right and it's not very good. I am used to Massaman in the traditional preparation where it's more like a beef stew made with chunks of beef and needs to cook overnight. When done right it is the most aromatic curry ever -- it's almost like an aphrodisiac! -- and the beef comes out oh so tender. Usually if places have this curry but then offer a choice of protein, then it generally is not cooked properly, and that is actually how they prepare it at SaiTong. But because of such great reviews I decided to take a chance and try it. Well, let me tell you, it was definitely not the norm...it was absolutely delicious! I had it with chicken (they serve breast as default), and the chicken soaked up the curry really nicely. I also asked for there to be no onions, which I think alters the flavor of a curry too much. It does include the traditional potatoes and peanuts, and the potatoes were fine and cut into nice little chunks, the peanuts actually were thrown in raw.. what I think is the more traditional way which is to actually burn the peanuts a little bit, but that's okay, it didn't take down the dish any. Their brown rice is of the very dark kind, which I like, and goes so well with the curry. Service was wonderful from the bartender but was also provided by the rest of the staff and everyone was so nice.
