Bit surprised by how much Chicha San Chen outlets now are available in different parts of the town. What's helpful is it's now way more accessible and doesn't require looong lines anymore just to grab one. Particularly in love with this Ktown outlet with decent street parking, very convenient and well-lit space, also open till quite late. As for the drinks though, I feel like Chicha's one of the most expensive ones and the drinks prolly don't really justify the higher tag. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad but I really wish it being more affordable. Besides, I somewhat love the tea flavor of the ones I have back home in Asia. Recently tried their Passion Fruit Green Tea and Orange Lemon Pouchong Tea here, which are refreshing but I might not buy regularly as they're quite expensive. read more

Parking is available in the garage that's attached and you can get validated in the store for 90 minutes. Use the QR code for the site to "reserve" a spot. I accidentally found myself in the garage without going through this method since I didn't see the QR code initially and the staff was nice enough to let me out. Two kiosks inside to order and a couple of tables and seating but most orders are probably to-go. My favorite here is Taro Ball Green Tea Latte as I prefer the taro over the tapioca. Staff is friendly/helpful and service is relatively fast with a screen to show you which orders are in-progress and which are ready. They were also showing World Cup games so some people stuck around for a bit. Overall, this location is on par with the other locations although I really wish they would bring the Taro series here. read more

I love Chicha San Chen, but outside of the Arcadia location and locations in Asia (yes I got boba from them in Hong Kong lol), I find that their drinks are sweeter than I'd expect! Same quality is there and unlike a lot of their other locations: there's decent seating area, a clean bathroom, and even the World Cup playing! Downsides is they take a lot more delivery app order at this location than others (I don't think you can get delivery from the Arcadia; Rowland heights was pretty limited from what I remember) so the store can look empty...and you could still be like 8th in line for getting a drink. They take their time setting up every drink and the staff are helpful (almost everyone was wearing bubble tea earrings ahaha). It was hot as hell inside so keep that in mind lol. If you're a fan of the Arcadia location, ask for less sweet here! read more

I had to try the Michelin star boba near me! Chicha San Chen had a short 5-10 minute line on its second opening day. The service was friendly and quick. I ordered the bubble milk tea and it came out in about 5 minutes. It was really cool to see the tea machines and fresh tea leaves being brewed for every order by the cashier. The inside had some greenery on the wall and had white and gold decor. There was some small seating on the inside but it was really busy. Definitely, better for just getting your drink and then leaving. The bubble milk tea was solid. The black tea was strong and flavorful. It was not too sweet at 30% sugar. The milk and cream was delicious. The boba was also perfectly cooked and at a great sweetness level. Only thing is my drink was over $8 and pretty small, so I think it's worth trying but won't be my new go-to boba shop. read more

I was super excited that Chicha San Chen opened a location in K-town since I've been going to their other spots in Arcadia. We were not greeted at the door and just stood around until we saw they had a self ordering system near the front register. There were only a few people waiting inside, which was deceiving as I noticed the guy at the end was constantly busy putting together orders for UberEats and such. Then there was back to back customers coming up to pick up their orders, so my order took awhile to be ready. My friend was also annoyed that they gave him a small straw instead of the jumbo one since he ordered mango toppings with his drink. I have been here a couple times already and I love it. I have tried I couple of different drinks all of the so far have been so yummy. The drinks are not too sweet even at "perfect sugar", the teas are so refreshing, and the flavors really come through. I went to the grand opening for their store in Sawtelle so I am so happy there is one near me now. Staff are friendly. There is street parking around and you can park in their parking structure in the same building, and they validate. There is also seating inside. Super disappointing as I had high hopes from other locations. The one in Alhambra has it down with tea flavor and boba quality, but this location had neither. Tea was extremely bland and watered down with soggy boba that lost its chewiness. We ended up paying almost $18 for 2 drinks that were more than lackluster. In general this is some of the best tasting tea out there! This location had a soft opening last Wednesday that had a long one hour wait. On Monday afternoon, the line was very short. However drinks took about 20 minutes to come out. It was worth it though! The other location's seem to have stronger tea flavor which I enjoy. I'm hoping that as this location gets the hang of things more that it will taste just as good. Dong ding oolong is definitely my favorite on the menu! I was more excited than anyone that we got a ChiCha in Koreatown. I like it so much that I'll drive 20-30mins to the SGV to get it, and unfortunately, I think I'm better off keeping it that way. The tea was still good and much higher quality than the majority of shops in K-town, however, the boba was overcooked and the service wasn't great. I was one of the first people inside when they opened, and the person taking my order wasn't knowledgeable of the menu at all and actually a little rude. I understand that it's overwhelming when you're new, but that kind of negative energy ruins the experience for me. At the CCSCs in other cities, the baristas are very helpful and friendly, and the boba quality is ALWAYS consistent. It's a bummer, because this location is super convenient, but I'll probably only go when I'm too lazy to make the commute down the 10 (unless they improve with time, which i'm sure they will!) p.s. there's no rewards system at the LA locations, so prepare yourself for the $8 price tag! read more

I really like ChiCha SanChen's Dong Ding Oolong Tea with Cream and I can really taste the flavor of the tea. It's a creamy drink and I highly recommend it at 30% sugar. The sugar levels can only be 70% or 30% but honestly it's fine like that because the drinks aren't too sweet like that. Some drinks can't be customized in terms of sugar and ice level which is fine but that is important to know.
