I've always wanted to try Tpumps for years and finally had a chance when I was in the area! I love the idea of customizable boba, so I was really excited. There is paid street parking, but there is a Sprouts free parking lot nearby, so I just parked there and took a short walk. Upon entering, the interior is quaint with no tables and chairs, so it's a grab-and-go type of place. They had free samples of this watermelon tea which was so yummy and refreshing, so I thought that was such a nice touch! There were so many flavors to choose from that it was difficult for me to pick! However, for my order, the flavors I chose were macadamia nut and vanilla with black tea, creamer, and boba (Tpumps size + normal sweetness). I love that the boba is free as well. My total came out to $5.50 which I thought was really reasonable, especially for the size you get! My order came out quickly. Tbh, I thought my drink tasted okay. I liked the sweetness level, but I didn't really taste macadamia nut. There wasn't much of a black tea flavor as well. It kinda just tasted like sweet milk with a hint of black tea. However, the highlight of the drink was definitely the boba. It was nicely sweet and chewy! It wasn't a bad drink by any means, but I just wish the flavors were more prominent. Overall, I'd give my drink 3 stars, but the boba is definitely 5 stars. Would I come back? I think so! The format for Tpumps is definitely unique. There's just a variety of topping & flavors to choose from. If you're into customizing your own drinks. Tpumps is definitely the way to go. There's also preset drinks if you want to pick something off the menu, but you wouldn't really see the menu as it's placed in the corner of the store. Store is pretty small, and parking can be accessible on the street. I would say that the store is moderately clean, plentiful of cute posters worth of a background for your social media post. We were given some samples to try which is nice especially for customers wanting to try new drinks. We created our own drinks. I had the rose vanilla green milk tea with honey boba, while my partner ordered the honey macadamia nut green milk tea with honey boba. Although I was pretty skeptical about how the drinks would turn out, but thankfully both drinks were pretty refreshing. Most definitely well made, nothing over the top but the flavors most definitely have more impact than the tea itself. One thing I can appreciate is that the tapioca balls are very soft and easily the best part of the drink. It's street parking which can be difficult in Pasadena - I recommend parking at the back lot of where Walgreens and Sansai japanese grill is since it's only a 5 minute walk from there and you can find a parking spot for sure! Whenever I go here, I usually customize with a taro milk tea or jasmine milk tea base, 100% sugar (I'm a sugar fiend, my "not-too-sweet dessert Asian mom hates it hehe) and choose fun toppings like boba bran (basil seeds) or mini sago (mini tapioca pearls), along with extra toppings like lychee jelly. I have been going to TPumps here and there over the years. At one point there would be dozens of teenage kids in line at all times. I am not sure if it is still like that but the parking and lines were convenient the past few times I went. The format is fun where you can pick your base tea and flavors to add in as well as boba if desired. They always have a tea for tasting while you are in line as well as a case with some ready made, discounted drinks. These drinks are already sealed, so you cannot add toppings. You can control the sweetness level. For me the flavors overpower the actual taste of the tea. However, I appreciate their monthly suggestions which got me to try combinations I would probably never attempt on my own. I was on Lake street to visit pillow talk and wanted to bc heck out TPumps again and it's really not the same. The storefront didn't look very inviting--there were papers taped to the doors, a trash can out front, and overall it gave off kind of a "shut down" vibe. But they actually were open. The location is tough parking wise. I stopped by around 7:45pm on a Monday and all the street parking was full. The best boba in Southern California. Everyone knows the bay has the boba game on lock. The quality of the pearls is unmatched. The teas are real brewed teas. They have tea samples available. Service is quick and convenient. I ordered one of their promo drinks this month, it was unbelievable. I say that because i find boba to be very starchy, but when done right, it is very pleasing. Looks like Tpumps updated their online order site to allow optional boba and/or sago (mini boba)! Ordered online after receiving the promo email for $1 off for Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough flavored milk tea on any size. Placed order at 6:00pm on 11/11 Saturday and said earliest pickup is at 6:30pm. For some odd reason the promo wasn't taken into account on the online order. My partner ordered a Guava Peach Marshmallow Black milk tea. When I arrived to the location at 6:32pm I was expecting it to be busy given the 30 minute pickup timeframe but our drinks hadn't even been made yet. I mentioned that my drink didn't receive the discount as expected and the baristas said they couldn't do anything about it. I feel like that's false advertisement on their part. My partner and I also specified for our drinks to be light sweet but both turned out to be really sweet. Her drink had some mint flavor in it which was odd because she didn't order that. I feel like they made our drinks in a rush carelessly. Tpumps has been very hit or miss since they've opened here in Pasadena, for both the drink consistency and their customer service. I've been coming here since I went to Pasadena City college (2015-2017), and could say that Tpumps is still as amazing as it's ever been! At about $5 to $6 per drink size, you can't go wrong! The cups are MASSIVE and the combination of the flavors are endless. Honey boba is also included which is a nice plus since most boba shops are about $8 per drink now and also charge you 75 cents to a dollar for boba. Don't forget the daily $2 teas in the fridge! A steal if you're looking for a quick fix. My go-to drink is the Rose Vanilla, but almost every combination seems to be pretty good. It's a small shop, but the workers are really friendly and efficient. Lines can be long, but usually never take more than 10 minutes. They have a variety of flavors you can choose from and combine. They also have a list of their most popular mixes. They have $2 Daily Special in their fridge you can buy everyday. They also offer a free sample of a mixed flavor drink. To be honest it is just flavor syrup that they pump into the drink so it doesn't taste all that fresh. But, for the price and what you get I think it is worth it on Tuesdays. Their boba is very soft and sweet (not hot though). The workers are always very nice when taking your order but sometimes you feel rushed by them because it gets crowded. There's no sitting; it is a quick grab and go. This was my first time trying TPump. I will say I was pleasantly surprised by the ordering selection. The cafe is rather small and there are not tables to sit in wait for your order to be ready, but the team members were rather fast getting everyone their drinks in a timely manner. I order a slushie strawberry green tea with normal sugar. I found that it was better than what I had anticipated. Usually when I order anything green tea it tends to over power the other flavors I put in my drinks. I do think that the strawberry popping boba tasted more like rose water than it did like actual strawberry. The drinks pricing was rather fair for the size of the drink. You do get your money's worth and maybe I have not found the correct mixture when it comes to normal boba but I will just need to go back and try more combinations and different boba balls. read more

Been here twice and I have to say the teas aren't the best but not the worst. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but I wouldn't mind. I tried the rose vanilla green milk tea and there wasn't any vanilla flavor at all. I did order it 50% sweet so that could be why, but it was also still too sweet. There was barely any tea flavor so don't expect a strong tea. I've also tried the peach rose green milk tea. For this, you couldn't taste either flavor, just the green tea. However, green tea is still on the lighter side. I wouldn't get this again. I'm surprised both of these drinks were on the recommendation list. Definitely would not recommend these.
