A friend from the Bay loves this place! We took her to the KTown location last time and whenever she's back, she always asks if we can stop by here. So glad they opened this Silver Lake location because my experience here has ALWAYS been amazing! Food/Drink: Delicious as always! I always opt for the Double Matcha but since we came around almost closing, I opted in for the Double Hojicha and I am so glad I did! I love the roasted/nutty flavor from hojicha and this drink definitely had that! It was an easily chuggable drink. Service: AMAZING! The two ladies working on 8/28 around closing time were INCREDIBLE! They were so kind and patient when taking our order, quick with service, and just overall amazing. My party and I were sitting outside chatting with our drinks and when it was around closing time, they let us take our time catching up even though they had to start cleaning up the patio. I wish I got their names, they were both so amazing! Ambiance: No seating inside as it's a order, grab, and go type of store, but theres outdoor seating outside. Decided to give rok a try since I was in the area and heard it's thee new, trending matcha place in LA. Was super disappointed. Don't get me wrong- the place has a super hip LA vibe to it. The little patio area they had was full of people and it was super cute. But I had ordered our drinks for pick up. The staff was friendly, but when I saw the drinks I was immediately disappointed. The cup size was definitely smaller than what I normally get at other places. That strawberry matcha with Almond Milk was over $9 and what you can't see (the way the cup is tilted) are the big cubes of ice. Volume wise it was definitely on the smaller side and taste wise I was disappointed. To be fair, I go to a LOT of matcha shops so maybe that makes me pickier than most. But the drink was mid, parking was a pain... sorry but I won't be back anytime soon. read more

Took a nice stroll down Sunset and stopped in for the Matcha Duo. It's a super small space with a few seats outside. I ordered on the kiosk and my drink was ready within minutes. The matcha was delicious. Perfect amount of bitterness and sweetness. The black sesame coffee wasn't great. The black sesame is chunky so the coffee mixed with the chunky sesame is textural difficult to drink. Very busy! I love the matcha though! read more

I've always wanted to try rok's matcha as I've heard really good things about it. We got the strawberry matcha and the mango matcha latte. The matcha top was delicious and creamy and had the perfect balance. However, I do find the drink a little too sweet and the strawberry/ mango overpowered the matcha. If you have a sweet tooth, definitely get their fruit matcha. The strawberry one is a little more tart while the mango one is more sweet. Personally, if I were to come here again, I'd probably stick with the regular matcha latte. The line wasn't too crazy on a Sunday afternoon and we waited a good 5-10min for our drink. I really enjoyed my drink, it was super refreshing and creamy. Parking at this location is pretty easy, there is a parking lot around the corner and street parking as well. You order at a kiosk outside and then can wait inside for your drink to be called. Small outdoor seating for 3-5 people, but mainly a takeout spot, no seating indoors. There is a restroom inside for customers that was clean and well-maintained. Glad Rok opened this new spot in Silver Lake right in my neighborhood! All of their matchas are unique and delicious, though they tend to be more sweet dessert drinks rather than traditional matcha. Coconut matcha einspanner was 5/5 - perfectly refreshing and sweet! Blueberry matcha duo was too much blueberry puree so it was overly sweet. Not sure if this was just a heavy pour, but the drink could benefit from probably half the amount of blueberry puree that was actually in it. OMG - I have never been a matcha fan but I think Rok finally converted me. Their coconut water matcha is SO good - it's almost chuggable because the coconut water makes it refreshing but the matcha itself is lightly sweet and fragrant. This matcha spot is such a great addition to the neighborhood. I never braved the long lines in their other location by Koreatown so I was glad that they opened a location in Silverlake. Rōk has found its way into Silver Lake joining the dozens of coffee shops on the strip. It's a teeny location with limited seating, so perhaps not the place to go if you want to sit and chat or work. They have kiosks outside where you can place your order, but welcome you to order inside if they're not too busy. Service was fast and friendly and the interior was minimal but clean. I tried something new and ordered the Strawberry Shortcake Matcha Duo. I'm sure a lot of people will love this drink, but it wasn't for me. Perhaps it was all the elements, but it was just way too thick for my liking. The consistency reminded me of an incredibly dense shake. There just wasn't enough milk to cut through the saccharine flavors. That said, the aesthetic of the drink was absolutely gorgeous. Rok is one of my favorite spots in LA to get Matcha. I live in SF currently and every time when I come down, I always make it a point to come here. I usually go to the one in k Town so it's nice coming back to see that it's opening more locations. I always get the double Matcha 10/10 , but decided to try something new. I got the double hojicha. It was good but I've had better so I'll rate that and 8/10. I'll either go back to my regular order or try either the mango or the strawberry flavors. Overall, really easy to order there was no line when I went on a Sunday afternoon. They also have a restroom available with minimal seating outside on the patio. Parking can be a little tricky though. It took roughly 5 to 10 minutes to find parking on the street. read more
