This place seems to pride itself on using natural ingredients. They have fruit teas that taste moreso like juice, matcha drinks, and brown sugar milk tea drinks. They also have shake versions of some of their drinks, which are a bit odd because they are like a slushie with boba on top. I've had the Mango Boom and the Grapefruit Mango Boom from this location. The grapefruit one barely had any grapefruit.. I would just order the Mango Bloom instead next time to save $1. I do like that the drink has mango pulp in it. It is quite sweet even with less sugar. I also like the addition of sago in there. It doesn't really have a tea flavor to it though, if that is what you're looking for. The brown sugar milk tea was also solid. The balance between brown sugar and the milk was good. Boba was chewy and a good texture. When I came on the weekend in the early afternoon, they ran out of cheese foam and would not serve any of the matcha drinks except for the shake, which was disappointing since it was the middle of the day and their matcha drinks sounded good. I LOVE LOVE LOVEEE Heytea, it is absolutely worth the hype coming from a monthly heytea drinker and visitor. As much as they don't have inside seating and small interior. The one thing I really like about the inside is the AC on top of the door, which I found out, contains jasmine tea fragrance which makes you feel relaxed and I'm obsessed with it . DO NOT wait inside for your drinks. It could get cramped and very humid especially how onto the door there is only ONE AC machine which can be really cooling if you stand under it.(I've done it before, love!) If you aren't fond of standing, order online, it only takes around 10 or more minutes to wait for the drink and takes WAYY less time than standing in line. I promise you, IT IS WORTH THE WAIT!! Especially with the 2nd new heytea in Irvine, I'd have to guess the lines will get shorter. Stand outside, or on the grass hill if you are waiting. And you can absolutely enjoy and take your pictures of your purchased drinks there too! I do recommend standing in line or waiting if you're interested in trying a unique drink delicacy. The different types of ingredients they use are TO DIE FOR. The textures in every drink is immaculate as well. Went to Heytea for the special popmart x twinkle twinkle collab and tried their promo: Tiramisu milk tea. Loved the aesthetic and stickers/ bag the drinks came with! I went to get this on Xmas day and they ran out of the collab pins but I did get the stickers. I went to Heytea awhile back and got their mango cloud drink, also one of my favs here! I was super excited to see that they opened a Hey Tea in Irvine! My friends have been raving about this place in NY so I was excited to try it. The first time I went on the weekend, they said the wait for a drink would be 40+ min so definitely be prepared to wait if you come at peak hours. The parking in this plaza has been pretty painful since all the new shops opened as well so try to be patient when you come here during peak hours as well. The store itself is super small and only has 4 seats inside to wait. They have a QR code that links you to an online app to order if you would like but I don't like downloading new apps. They only have a menu that is posted near the cash register so you can't see it until you get all the way to the front. The menu also doesn't even tell you what is in the drink so you kind of just have to guess? My friend swears by the grape drink but unfortunately they ran out of this by the time I was ordering so I'll have to try that next time. The coconut mango boom was recommended by my other friend and I do have to say that this drink was incredible. I had super high expectations of Hey Tea when I heard we were getting one in Irvine! The location itself has always been tough to park in as it is in a very very busy shopping plaza. There are only a few parking spots directly infront so I think having a good quick park, pick-up, and go system is so important. Otherwise you are having to fight for parking with a popular grocery store and lots of food restaurants in the parking lot and then walk over. To me, a boba shop has got to get the most basic drink down: the milk tea boba. I ordered both the brown sugar milk tea boba and a milk tea boba. I did both at less (~75%) sugar, where I usually would get 50% sugar at most boba places. This allows me to get a gauge of how much sweetener they usually get to be able to better adjust for future drinks and I can still enjoy my drink currently. I was very disappointed in both my drinks. They were too milky/creamy and I can't really taste much of the tea at all. It's pretty rare that I don't finish my milk teas, especially if I'm paying $7 bucks for a drink. Both drinks I got through about 60% of it before tossing it. The boba balls itself were also okay, a bit softer than I also prefer. The hype for this spot is still going strong, coming here after 9 pm on a Friday night and saw that the line was STILL out the door. Granted, the store is very small, and there were maybe 8 people ahead of us. The design is very minimalistic, with a board to keep track of where your orders are. They do have an app if you want to download and place your order through the app instead of waiting in line! At $8.50 a drink, I was a little disappointed with the drink. Might have been what i ordered, but I got to try their Strawberry Boom, Cloud Mango and their seasonal Blue Spiralina Drink. We liked the Strawberry and regretted the Blue Spiralina drink entirely. I had a really frustrating experience at Heytea. I ordered 4 drinks, but they only gave me one bag that could barely hold 2 drinks. I was by myself -- how does the business expect one person to carry a bag plus two drinks in their hands at the same time? That's just unrealistic and honestly kind of ridiculous. When I asked for a second bag, the staff refused and said they were "reserving" bags. This doesn't make any sense -- if I had placed two separate orders of 2 drinks each, they would have given me 2 bags anyway. So why make it difficult for customers ordering multiple drinks at once? Time and time again, I am pitched these "amazing" mango-related desserts by friends, influencers, and yelpers. I'd give them all chances, but will inevitably be disappointed because mangos in this side of the world are simply inferior, and no amount of syrup can replace the real thing. It's not the fault of the mango or the recommender, as they've just never had a Southeast Asian mango. What I tasted from the first sip to the last took me back to the motherland. The flavor, the rare chunk that wasn't blended properly, and the "mango hair" texture that you stumble upon (when eating close to the core) were all there. The cloud was essentially coconut-based, and it was good, but you get this because you want good mango. Is there a chance that I've been bamboozled and syrup did all the work, and this was just your ordinary Indian/Mexican mango? Sure.
