Heytea is my FAVORITE boba shop lately. Their mochi yingde milk tea is too die for. (Too bad they've been sold out lately.) Their mochi is made with cheese and it's the best thing I've ever had. And I think compared to other places, their cheese cloud is tastier as well. One thing I dislike is that they generally only have one size and it's too small for me. The second thing I dislike is that they don't add much boba if you add it as an extra. It makes sense because the drinks are small but it's a dollar extra. The store is small, only enough space to order drinks. And the wait can be long because the place gets so busy. Theres no food served at this boba shop. The service is ok, however, for regulation on orders, it's pretty bad. I understand that there's certain events and collabs that take place for a while, however, the wait is insane! I waited for an hour and 30 minutes for 3 drinks for my collaboration drinks. The collab drink was the tiramisu milk tea. I got it with less sugar. Its a nice light tea with the flavor of tiramisu. The ambiance is average with music and people talking over each other. The only thing I recommend is to order online if you can and I don't think I'll order again unless the hype dies down or it's a slow day for them. TIP: There's no restrooms here! I couldn't really taste the pistachio, but the tea itself was really strong and had the perfect level of sweetness, which made it really enjoyable overall. I've been here many times and have tried other drinks like the mango grapefruit, and it's always been a good experience. Service is usually really friendly and fast (unless they're running a promotion like a BOGO, then the line gets crazy long.) Another tea/boba for the 626 area and why not? Everyone likes them and it is handy to have so many. Finally got to try Heytea and I will definitely be back. There was a surprising variety compared to other tea/boba places. I especially like the Kale Boost Tea. It turned out to be not a bit "grassy" tasting and really refreshing. Although I will say, the lines were a bit confusing since the store is small so you can't tell if people were waiting to order or pick up despite the signs. I always see a long line in front of this store and I've heard that this is a lot of people's favorites so I definitely wanted to give this place a try. Luckily they allow mobile ordering so I could order ahead and then just go in to pick up without having to wait outside for a long time. I ordered the Jasmine Tea ($3.99) with Brown Sugar Bobo ($0.99). I've also tried the Supreme Matcha Latte (7.99). For the tea itself I would say that it's one of the better, higher quality ones I've tried. The boba is good too, but not so outstanding. Out of all the boba places in this area, this is definitely one of the better ones. The prices are higher than other places though, so it's not as casual as the other places either. Aside from them bringing your drinks out, it's pretty much no contact since they also have a kiosk inside for you to place your orders. There's no seating inside, only a small waiting space so all there really is inside is the counter. Tea here is good and they seem to have different seasonal drinks that are different from other places. Have been to a few different HeyTea locations worldwide, and while this one isn't the nicest or most luxurious, it stands out as being quick and efficient, and the quality, like any other HeyTea, is admirably consistent. Main drawback is lack of any seating, and they do get busy. Their efficiency means busy isn't a big deal, and the current seasonal special (guava, both the king jasmine milk tea as well as the guava grape slush) are both subtly good. I've been wanting to try Heytea ever since the Lisa hype with the matcha and finally pulled the trigger when my friend told me about their BOGO Jasmine latte. I got there and there was a small crowd. I was like line wasn't bad! By then they were all waiting. The deal is automatically applied if you use their App which everyone else seemed in the know. I love the idea of the promotion, because I would never order two drinks for myself, but that came at a price. The competition for tea shops is high in this area. I ordered the Jasmine milk tea and the King Jasmine guava. Apparently, this tea shop is known for fruit teas. The wait was long at opening. I can't blame this shop for the long queue, considering how cute the magnets were. From 11 AM. I waited behind about 15 people. It took about 30 minutes for it to reach my turn, and another 10 to get my drink. I did have a major issue, with two different orders, where the screen dictated both numbers, but when I came to the front to get my order, the staff said it wasn't there, when it was just in front of me. The second order, same thing happened, the drink was in front of me, and the staff said it wasn't there. If I did not insist on looking for them, I don't know how long I would be waiting for? The jasmine milk tea was not that special? Especially for $7.50? I don't know whether I can blame the staff either, considering how they were under a lot of pressure from this promotion. No it's not the perfume or scents that heytea normally uses- it smells like straight sewage. Tried this new HeyTea spot out and it was...crowded. It was packed like sardines when I first arrived. There is one ordering kiosk, and one person at the register, so that it at least sped up the line. There was no seating inside, so you just had to take it to go. You can see when your order is being made, and once it is completed, it shows on the screen they have in the shop. Picking up the drink was its own challenge, though... Once the drinks are ready, they are lined up on the counter and sorted. However, the "line" that is there for pick up is kind of just scattered since once the orders are done, people just flock to the counter for pick up. It got the Mulberry strawberry boom with less sugar and less ice. It was decent; the mulberry flavor didn't shine as much as I'd hoped, but it was still there. It has hype. It has a lot of people waiting in line. It's efficient. It's worth it? The only reason I stepped into the spot was because of the hype and a opening discounts they offered. Strangely, I'm still debating whether the entire process was worth it. The tea is fresh. You can see and appreciate the ingredients they're using. Drinks were very flavorful and worth their price. It's probably something I would buy at full price if I wanted to splurge myself to a nicer treat on a hot day. It's downhill from there. There's simply too much traffic. If you're looking for a reason to kill time to talk with friends while doing something, it's worth it. It's what I did and I thought it was a great way to just spend time together. But that was more for community than it was for the drink. We probably waited over 30 min to order. After we ordered, we waited another 30 min or more with a large crowd outside waiting to get our drinks. The place is very crammed all around. It's crammed getting in the store to order, leave the store, then pick up your drink and leave again. It's crammed at the cashier's desk with multiple people just standing shoulder to shoulder taking orders. Then you can take a peak at the back and see a similarly crammed assembly line of over 10 workers moving only their arms making the drinks. My friend introduced me to Hey Tea and it's like my eyes have been opened. It's honestly become my favorite drink place now. It is important to understand that Hey Tea is a grab and go concept; there aren't tables or chairs where you can socialize. The Monterey Park location has enough space for a kiosk to order and minimal waiting room, so mostly everyone puts in their order and then waits outside, peeking back in occasionally to see if their drink number is being prepared yet. The service is friendly and efficient; it's just that there is high demand. There is definite wait time if you don't order in advance (ex: I came and ordered from the kiosk midweek after dinner, and the wait time was about 20-30 minutes). My friend seems to have figured out the trick for minimal wait time: get the app, and order online 15-20 minutes before you arrive. There is limited 30 minute green curb parking on Atlantic, or you can park in the commercial center. I haven't even gotten to the drinks yet! If you like mango sago like I do, order the Coconut Mango Boom with less sugar. Every sip is like a bite of mango sago, with the tapioca and chunks of mango. It's so good! The store is strictly to go only; there is barely any standing room for waiting. No seating. You can order through the self-serve kiosk, or the cashier can ring you up. Once you order, keep tabs of your ticket so you can watch the screen when your order is getting prepared and when its ready. They also called out the orders too. I ordered the Mango Grapefruit Bloom, which is one of the most popular drinks. The bits of grapefruit and mango is a nice surprised. The drink is more of a dessert than drink IMO. This is the only location I've been to for heytea and it's a hit or miss. Some drinks are great, others are not. For example, I really like their mango series but didn't enjoy any of the grape series. What I don't like is that this location is pretty disorganized. Even after your order is marked as "ready" you might still wait up to 20 extra minutes for the order. A few times, they've also made part of the order first and let it sit on the counter for 10-15 mins while waiting for the rest so our drinks have come out watered down. Another time they made the wrong order and asked me if I would take the wrong order as is instead of remaking it correctly which wasn't ideal for an $8 drink order. When I looked at the menu, I saw there were different types of one drink and wanted to know the difference, but the person didn't understand so I just chose a random one to save myself some time. I got the Matcha Cloud Coconut Blue and Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea, and I wasn't too impressed by the drinks. I decided to go again on another day to try a different drink. The kiosk was easy to use, and I got the Coconut Mango Boom. This drink was a lot better, and I liked it. However, I waited for the drink for a while and my number was never called. I realized something was up when I heard the next person got his drinks first. So, when I got my drink, it looked like it melted...really disappointed by how it looked but the taste made up for it. This is hands down my favorite boba spot. I've been here several times and it's always a hit. Food (5/5): I've tried several drinks from here and most if not all of them have been great. My top favorites are the cloud blue coconut (zero sweet) and their mango boom. I've tried their slim boost tea which was an elevated and sweeter green juice with some chia seeds in it, which I thought was interesting but I do like the bottle that it comes with. First impression was weariness as I saw a large crowd standing nearby and outside. However, I'd later discover that the ordering line is actually short. Customers stand outside because HEYTEA (Monterey Park) is very tiny. Since there's no place to sit or wait, they gather at the front. Despite the many customers, it took two minutes to reach the cash register. (Quick Note: Street Parking looked tight, so I found the nearby Atlantic Times Square Underground Public Parking Lot. There's plenty of parking. And its stairs bring you near HEYTEA.) Staff is very helpful, professional, and welcoming. I received a bright smile. And all customers received a "Thank you. Have a great day!" At the counter, I was able to pay with cash or card. Also, there's a nearby self-service kiosk if wanting to skip the human interaction. HEYTEA (Monterey Park) is extremely busy. I counted over 14 customers waiting outside. However, the drinks are served efficiently since its location has many staff members in the back. Despite the many waiting customers, my Mango Grapefruit Boom ($7.99) was ready within eight minutes and 42 seconds. As mentioned prior, the Mango Grapefruit Boom ($7.99) is a must-try. It's unique, fresh, and flavorful. I felt all my worries and anxiety melt away as I sipped. The immediate taste is fresh, supple mango. It melts away as it rests upon your tongue. This prominent, delectable mango is generous and present with each sip. The Mango Grapefruit Boom ($7.99) contains mango, mango juice, Aqua Green Jasmine Tea, coconut milk, coconut milk jelly, and grapefruit pulp. The Mango Grapefruit Boom is refreshing, cold, and silky. I got their BOGO cheese brown sugar bobo milk tea. It was insanely creamy. The cheese foam added that salty-sweet balance and the brown sugar boba was soft and fresh. They said the boba sold out when I ordered but when I got it, it came with the boba. That being said, I waited about an hour from line to drink in hand (5:57-6:56). For a BOGO deal, that is to be expected. Also, the location is very small and can get overcrowded indoors due to the line. Service was good given how busy it was. I wish they had a speaker microphone to call out the order numbers. Overall, the drink is rich, heavy, and definitely a "once in a while" treat unless you're trying to test your cholesterol levels.
