The teas are very good but not sure if I would add boba in the future because I got literally like 8 bobas. I go to boba tea mostly for the bobas but this franchise gives very little bobas. With tax, tip etc, a cup is around $10. Good tea but I would say it's expensive for what it is. I would probably go back and try again if I really wanted just tea. I just looked at the hey tea menu website after the business response to the portion control. Hey I don't mind at all paying more for a good product and small portions but the boba tea displayed on the website with the amount of ingredients is not even close to what they serve. I usually don't go out of my way to write reviews, but my experience here really ruined my day. The drink itself was amazing- honestly one of the best boba teas I've had! But the service was really disappointing. It took about 25-30 minutes for my drink to be ready, and when I finally got it, it was the wrong order. That part I can understand, the staff looked super busy and overwhelmed, so mistakes happen. The real issue was the attitude I received when I politely pointed out that it wasn't what I ordered. Instead of helping, the worker argued that it was what I ordered because it was printed on the receipt. To be fair, I hadn't double-checked the receipt, but it seems the person who took my order was more focused on chatting with a buddy (who coincidentally got his drink right away) than actually listening to my order. They did end up exchanging the drink, which I appreciate, but being dismissed and made to feel like it was my fault was really frustrating. read more

I told the cashier lady that I wanted extra boba and she said it would be an extra 99 cents, however, she said she would not charge extra, but she then said "oh I'll just tell the guy to do extra", so I then waited 20 MINUTES for one drink, which is the worst service I've ever had. The worst service ever. If you order online you're SOL as they prioritise in store orders. Absolutely the most inefficient store ever! Not anywhere close to Heytea locations elsewhere. We checked out HEYTEA's grand opening in Del Mar this past weekend and took advantage of their BOGO deal (went both Saturday and Sunday!). The mango cloud drink was our favorite, thick, tropical, and so refreshing, while the mulberry strawberry cloud was a miss because of the frozen berry texture. Surprisingly, the Kale Boost Tea tasted more like a pineapple kiwi refresher with chia seeds than anything "kale," and the Supreme Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea stole the show with its chewy, fresh boba. The line was long, but the staff, especially Reagan, made the wait feel easy with their kindness and efficiency. Drinks are on the pricier side, but for a treat yourself splurge, HEYTEA in Del Mar is worth it, and I'm already planning my next visit to try more of their milk teas! read more

Drinks are good but service is horribly lacking. Ordered 5 drinks online, with an expected 5 minute wait. After 25 minutes of waiting only 4 drinks had been prepared. When I asked for the status, the worker told me they were still working on one drink. The 4 prepared drinks had been sitting on the counter for over 20 minutes at that point. When I told the worker I was not happy that the drinks had been sitting and were noticeably melted, he gave me a bag and very rudely told me I could just take the 4 drinks. When I told him I had paid for 5 drinks and wanted all of them, he just stared at me. I had to find another worker to ask her to remake my drinks, which she agreed to do so. After having HeyTea multiple times in LA and New York and becoming a loyal fan, I was super excited to find out they were finally opening in San Diego! I ordered the Coconut Mango Boom. I love the combination of the sago, mango slushie, coconut milk, and coconut jelly. It was good overall, but I only have two minor complaints-- the slushie part isn't as icy as I'm used to at other locations and there was just a little too much coconut milk compared to mango. This led to the drink being more liquidy than I'm used to. The location just opened so I'm sure quality will improve over time. read more

Drinks were fantastic and customer service was the best! I was pregnant waiting in line and the manager saw me and graciously let me go to the front so I didn't have to stand for a long time. Flavorwise, its nice. But they do put a lot of ice--probably only 1/4 the cup is the actual milk tea. Also, the Asian genZ girl brat who's the cashier on Dec 27, 2025 evening 7 pm is rude. I asked if all of the drinks are caffeineted. Reply is a dismissive "Yes, it's tea" like im dumb and didnt know the obvious. It would have been fine is she's stopped at "Yes." I was really excited to try Heytea but was very disappointed with my experience. The line moved extremely slow and menus were extremely hard to spot so you had to decide as you were ordering which I assume is why the line was moving so slow to begin with. The workers have absolutely no recommendations on drinks so I am assuming the owners don't let the workers sample anything, and I don't blame the workers for not buying anything either due to their egregious prices. Worst of all, I have had much cheaper boba that tasted much much much better. The flavor was lackluster and the entire experience was an overall letdown. For this plaza specifically, I would just walk over to omomo which had really delicious boba, a terrific environment, and overall a really great experience. read more

Happened to be nearby and there wasn't a line. Got the Crisp Grape Boom which is like a slushie with some fruit and tea at the bottom. Taste was mild in a good way - not overly intense but very tasty. Grape but not artificially grape. Only criticism is the boba (added) were a bit mushy as if they sat in water for too long. Ordered a drink and saw flies and gnats all over the sink and assembly line. they were also landing on top of my cup and other customer's cups also the tea dispensing machine looked like it had not been cleaned in a while.
