Hibiscus is a pretty nice place in the bottom floor of the Best Western. The service was really good, the waitress was friendly and everything came out promptly. I had the jerk calamari and the Jerk chicken. The calamari was pretty good, but i was hoping it would have a little more kick to it. The chicken was cooked well, and it had enough of the jerk flavor to be satisfying. For dessert i had their Creme Brulee. It was pretty good. i like it enough. The next time im hear i think ill have to try their rum bread pudding. As a nice aside, they did have live music which was rather nice on friday night. This review is for the Morris Plains location, but it didn't come up on Yelp. Will leave here because they are all the same chain. We ordered a big office order for lunch. We ordered through their official website and left a hefty tip for the driver as well as for the staff as it was a pretty big order (10 meals). When the food arrived EVERY single order was wrong. The website let's you pick if you would like white rice, rice and beans etc. or substitute with rasta pasta or Mac and cheese for an additional $2 charge. Naturally some people wanted the substitution and of course we paid the extra charge. Every single meal did not come the way we ordered at all, just rice and beans and steamed vegetables. They completely forgot to send a vegetarian roti, so someone would have been starving. The wings we had asked for jerk seasoning and they sent it with honey bbq. Once we called, the employees tried to blame the delivery driver that she showed them our order on her phone and they didn't know the orders had modifications. But as I stated in the beginning we ordered on the restaurants website not through a 3rd party site, why would'nt they have the order already ready for the driver once she arrived if they use door dash or grubhub as thier delivery service? I'm in Morristown a couple times a month and usually stay at the Best Western this restaurant is attached to. But even if I didn't, I'd go out of my way to eat at Hibiscus. The food is consistently incredibly flavorful. My favorite is the Island Brown Chicken, a relatively simple but super satisfying (and huge) dish. I normally get takeout or room service, but dined in once (it's BYOB) and I'm glad I had that experience. When I'm in town the place is usually pretty quiet in the restaurant, but they have a very cozy atmosphere and the staff is always friendly. I had a great experience, and I'm planning on rounding up coworkers whenever I can so I have to chance to dine in again! Definitely give it a try and don't shy away from the location. I have been here before for dinner and enjoyed the food. Today, I went in for lunch. I ordered the stew chicken, vegetables and plantains no rice and beans. I was told my total was 13.81. I paid that but after I did I saw a sign that said lunch special $8.95. I asked why I was charged more and was told I didn't ask for the special. It had a nice tropical taste it just needed lite rum to make it a boat drink. Jamaican Rum Flavored Bread pudding was the flavorful end to a most extraordinary Caribbean meal. Next go down a flight of stairs to a cute little restaurant, nicely decorated. This was a Tuesday night and it was small but quite crowded. The menu is American and Caribbean (SP) and I ordered the spicy pasta dish with chicken and cream sauce which I was told had "kick" but personally I didn't taste much kick. But nonetheless very delish. We were told by our waiter that they have a lunch buffet and also jazz piano on weekends. This review is based on a take out $12 combo platter that I enjoyed. You get the choice of 2 meats, plain or rice with beans, a mixed veg, and some plantains. I got the jerk chicken and the curry chicken with the rice with beans. I liked the seasonings but added some of their jerk sauce because I am a spice fan. The food had an interesting floral note but I wish the temperature was hotter. Everything was just warm and overly spicy. I went to the hibiscus with my parents for a birthday dinner and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was very warm and friendly especially Carlene. She found out it was my birthday and had the musician sing a wonderful rendition of "Happy Birthday". We ordered the sampler as a appetizer and were a little disappointed at the amount of food that came out but we enjoyed the festival they placed at the table. The entrees came out about 20-25 minutes later and boy were they delicious. Everyone was pleased with the flavor and portion sizes of the food (not too little not too much). Things happen I understand, however, I called 2x for a refund and no one ever got back to me. I ordered from their Vegetarian/Vegan menu (veg Rasta pasta). When I got my order it was made w/ a white sauce and cheese. (I'm Vegan) I called and the girl told me she would talk to her boss. I never heard back. Since I'm vegan I didn't have lunch for the day b/c of this. Restaurants should be more mindful of what they label as vegan if it isn't Vegan. I called the next day where a different girl answered the phone, she had no knowledge of me calling the day before, she took my name number and message and said the owners would be notified right away. Do try this place. My family talked me into it and, despite my skepticism (which only increased when I found out it was in a hotel...and then again when I found out the hotel was a Best Western), I loved it, returned and loved it again! The skeptic's scowl returned when I asked what the "don't miss items" were on the menu and was told "it's ALL good", but of the 10 entrees and 6 appetizers we've tried so far, I can't argue with the "all". Do try some jerk. It's got a kick, but nothing most of you can't handle. The seafood stew and the curry were also wonderful. The kids were intrigued by the house signature drink (sweet hibiscus tea) so much that the manager gave us a bag of dried hibiscus flowers and told us how to make it! They have live music on busier nights (reggae one night; jazz trio another) which really enhanced the experience. No liquor license, but you can bring your own or order from Cambridge Wines to get them to deliver your packaged goods via scooter (which amuses our son to no end for reasons which escape me). These are the kinds of restaurants we should be patronizing: individual/family owned and operated; employees who are clearly invested in the success of the place; people who are genuinely grateful you gave them business; live music; and from-scratch food that tastes amazing (and a great bargain!) read more

When I arrived I noticed right away that the place was so clean (including the bathroom). Food was authentic, fresh tasting & delicious! We ordered the oxtails, rice and beans, sautéed vegetables, cabbage, festival bread, mac & cheese, fried sweet plantains and Jamaican meat patty. We were hungry!! EVERYTHING was amazing! Hot, delicious , fresh and prepared with care and flavor! I stopped by again two weeks later and got curbside pick up. The employee who took my order was very friendly and accommodating and the food was just as good as the first time, or better!
