I've been to this location twice. Once when they just opened years ago and another more recently. I must be missing something. My first visit I thought it was ok, but nothing special. This most recent time it was so packed inside. Lines out the door, kids everywhere...it's not cheap or anything. Come to find out when I placed my order that there was a fundraiser for a local school that night. I'm all for fundraisers and it's nice to see a business busy. The beef pho and chicken pho were better than I expected. They were great. Hiccups wasn't the first choice of pho restaurant if we wanted authentic and delicious but this togo order kinda changed our minds. I think we will go back to Hiccups if we don't want to drive 30+ miles to OC for a bowl of pho. In the South Bay area, Hiccups seems to be one of the better choices for pho around here. I asked if they had regular iced tea--they didn't--so I picked the strawberry twister on a whim instead. Parking can be tough given that it shares its parking with other businesses. I came twice and the first time I got a stir fried beef noodle dish with a free milk tea check in. The beef noodle dish was very very very salty. I think maybe slight overdo in their seasoning. Drink was delicious though. The second time I came I got the pho. I think their pho is not bad. Soup is actually decent. Good amount of noodles. Hubby got a message saying they had a BOGO pho so we took advantage of that. The downside is that we couldn't use the free drink Yelp check in deal because only 1 promo can be applied at a time. Boo. I think prices for each dish are a little bit high for this place in general. However I give it a 3 -3.5 stars for the drink. Favorite Americanized Vietnamese food. Usually they're way too Americanized but I think Hiccups is just right. The lines can be long sometimes but they're pretty quick. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The portion size are also decent. I wish they were a tad more but I guess the quality makes up for it. All the drinks are around $4-5 bucks. The food entrees are $8-14? I recommend the beef pho and the fried rice. I tried their match milk tea twice and both times, they were delightful. I do wish to try their Viet coffee soon. Broooooo! I love this new franchise so much! I've been to this specific location about 4 times. Each time I get something new. Hiccup brings a new flair to the boba/Asian cuisine restaurant world. This place is really hip and alive, at least it was when I went.lol The location isnt too bad but they are very spread out because the franchise is still growing. It is very well lit and there is always recent music playing in the background. The staff is very friendly and upbeat...they are young. What sets them apart in my opinion is the process, the look, and the menu. The menu specifically set to have a "daily special" which is at a discounted price. The food items are not only delicious but the portion amount is almost guaranteed to force you to get a togo container. When Hiccups first came to Carson they gave large portions, had great lunch specials, great customer service and a nice variety of menu items. The portion sizes are smaller, customer service is so so and the menu has changed but not for the better. The wonderful lunch specials are gone and prices have increased consistently even before COVID. I still go occasionally when I want Pad Thai or Pad See Ew but things have definitely changed. I expect when prices go up and portions go down to Al least have an outstanding product and awesome customer service to make me want to spend my money. I'm definitely looking for a new location to enjoy my two favorite dishes. The only menu item that has been consistent is the Filet Mignon Pho. read more

This was some months back, but I wanted to write a review because I feel it is necessary. Hiccups has been a mixed bag for me and my Mother ever since we started going back in 2017 or 2018. One minute it is possibly one of the best meals you'll come across, and the next minute it is one of the most "meh" experiences that'll make you question if it worth the trip. We started going to the Hiccups in Carson around the time of the Pandemic and Lockdowns, and at first it was great; then it became a mixed bag and we stopped going for awhile. About some time earlier in the year we decided to stop by the Carson location as we wanted some of their Shrimp fried rice and Mango smoothie. Upon entering, it was just a different vibe, but definitely a good one. The place looked clean (as it usually does), the music was cranked up and playing Hip-Hop and R&B, which in this case was a great thing because it gave a nice lounge vibe. The employees working had a great personality and were able to get everything right, and prepare it in a timely manner. Not only this, but everything was great. We liked the service so much we told one that was working that we thought was an employee, but turned out to be the Owner of this location, Andy. It was a surprise because he didn't give off a vibe as such, but maybe this was a good thing since he didn't use his ownership as something to brag about, but rather to ensure that the location was up-to-par with what they were doing. The fact that he didn't make it apparent showed that he was more focused on great customer service and great food, and that is important when it comes to having a successful business. I haven't been since just because I haven't been hungry for more of their rice and smoothies, but I will say that I will be back to this location. I will give this 5/5 because of that customer service and food and would tell those to go to this location, but definitely go when Andy is there because I cannot guarantee the service and food will be great when it is just the employees running it. read more
