Cute, little, "hidden" gem! Located just off the busy main strip, it's a great spot with good food! We went on a Saturday morning and it was busy but not too busy. I got the Breakfast Kickstart, daughter got Chef's Crepes and Dad got biscuits and gravy. All were delicious! Would give 5 stars but there was no ice in the water glasses and the orange juice, although freshly squeezed was not cold. If you don't need cold beverages, but want a good breakfast nook, this is the place to go. We will be back next year for the next Easter Jeep Safari event. read more

Our server was nice, but other than that we left pretty disappointed. The gravy was runny and didn't have a lot of flavor, my husband's toast was moldy (they apologized and brought him more, but left the rest of his plate ) and our friend's avocado toast was burnt. YUMMMM!!!! The food and coffee here are on point. We started each morning off here. They have freshly squeezed juices, espresso, the food is fresh and delicious. The bagels they use for their orders are delicious too. Service was very quick and accurate, waitress was impressive with not having to write orders down and getting each order correct. Holy Mother of Jesus!!! I have never tasted heaven before, but I did at Hidden Cuisine. Owned by a South African owner-chef, this restaurant is a couple of miles away from Moab, in Spanish Valley neighborhood. We only spent a week in Moab, but had at least three meals there (saying "at least", because if we have time, we might get breakfast there before we leave tomorrow). So, breakfast: I don't even remember it anymore, it was so delicious. I had Hidden Scramble Eggs. I also remember homemade juice which was just lovely. Other than that, my memory must have blanked out while all senses concentrated on the tongue area. I do have better memory of the dinners, which were a-m-a-z-i-n-g!! The first night. I had Cape Malay Chicken Roti which was a feast for the senses!!! The incredibly tender and flavorful chicken mixed with potatoes and some greens, enveloped in tortilla and deep fried. You cut it, put some apple chutney on the bite piece, put it in your mouth, and enjoy the nirvana. My husband had a Boboti the first time around, which is kind of like a meatloaf with custard on it (mind-numbingly delicious, I tried), and ribs the second time (equally as delicious, tender pieces, in a perfect amount of some South African glaze that is praise-worthy). I had chicken roti for both dinners (it was that good). I shared chicken roti with my 5-year-old both times, and she now wants to know if there will be a "rainbow restaurant" in Denver, too (which is where we live). (Rainbow, because it has multi-colored fence outside). Arugula salad is delicious, too, just they way I make it at home!! The second time around we were lucky to wave goodbye and say thank you to a lovely lady who appeared to be a cook/owner? Anyway, I could sing praise to this restaurant for awhile, but I think I am going to sit down and digest that lovely dinner. Dinner was excellent with a nice choice of both casual African and American style dishes. Nice wine list with several South African wines. Christina was our server and was very attentive and helpful without being intrusive. We came back 2 days later for lunch. Breakfast items are offered during lunch as well. We opted for breakfast as lunch was mostly sandwiches. We had both the scrambled egg crepe and the sweet fruit filled crepe. Very tender and tasty. read more

The owner cane and spoke with us for a bit and she was super nice and genuine. As someone from miami and Cuban/ mexican I'm ver discriminating when it comes to guacamole . Normally every place I go doesn't add any flavor , not here . Chef knows what she is doing the breakfast guac toast is awesome . The French toast and the country fried steak is amazing . This place needs MORE visitors and reviews! I cannot say enough about this hidden gem. I visited Moab over the weekend and went to dine here three times. Food was absolutely delicious and very customizable! I had the avocado toast multiple times and asked for extra onions (which I expected the chef would just add to the top of the toast, but she put them IN the avocado mash! genius!). The servers are wonderful, attentive, and kind and the owner/chef are such wonderful people. Also, GREAT outdoor dining space for these COVID times. Could not recommend enough! So wildly amazing the words can't paint a good enough picture. Staff was fantastic, food was AMAZING, the rain tried to stop our dinner with our pup on the patio but they moved us under better cover. We were excited to end our Moab trip with breakfast that was well reviewed and had a local touch, but was sadly disappointed. We arrived and waited about 10 minutes to be seated, which wasn't a big issue. But, we were seated and were told that our waiter would be there shortly. 15-20 minutes later, we still didn't even get drinks ordered. The waiter passed and looked at our table multiple times but did not approach once. To top it off, 2 gentlemen walked in, were seated right next to us and got their order take right there and then. Not one to bring race into things but it was hard not to feel ignored/discriminated against when we were not helped--but the white men who walked in got the kings treatment. We left and decided to go to Denny's for a 2nd time instead. If there was a delay on things they could've at least told us (provide some customer service) instead of walking past us. read more

What an amazing little hideaway of a brunch spot! The food was incredible. My friends and I ordered the avocado toast with bacon and the breakfast crepes. The crepes were cooked PERFECTLY and the avocado toast was so fresh. They also have freshly squeezed juices that are perfect before or after your morning hike or to start your work day the right way. What a great "hidden" gem! A small ride out of town was worth the mileage for a tasty breakfast. My family stopped in on a Thursday morning so it was a bit quiet -and I am glad we did stop in! Good drink options and they use a juicer for their juice which was a nice touch. As far as unique options - they had a couple crepe choices- one savor and one sweet. Healthy options are available as is biscuits and gravy. But seriously, try the savory crepes. :) The two women working front of the house were charming and sweet. Oowee--we now get great dinners at Hidden! Two of us had the ribs--spicy and sweet and no fat on the bone. The side of cold bean salad is a nice treat, delicious flavors. The Roti was flaky and light, even though it's deep-fried, and the Carbonara had a nice cream sauce, with penne instead of spaghetti. Wonderful to have such a variety of new ethnic items and flavors coming to Moab. read more

My wife and I recently ate at the Hidden Cafe in Moab, UT. I was looking forward to trying out their South African cuisine. While I have never eaten in South Africa, I was curious to try it. We had an early reservation and were seated quickly. I noticed that the table ha three bottles of spice sauces, two different kinds of McIlhenny's Tabasco Sauce and another kind I see in Mexican restaurants. Other than a few pictures of elephants on the walls, there was nothing to give an African atmosphere. The staff included two women who worked hard in several capacities (receptionist, waitress and kitchen staff) and a tall guy who seemed a bit underinformed And lost. My wife had an order of Lemon Butter fish and shrimp. It came with yellow rice and vegetables in curry sauce. I tried her food and it was fairly good. The fish was said to be "Asian Sea Bass" but bore a strong resemblance to a breaded Tilapia Fillet. My dish was an African BBQ with French fries and a salad, and three bean salad which turned out to be baked beans and were served right out of the refrigerator without heating. The menu did not say whether the ribs were beef or pork, and they turned out to be pork which could have benefitted by fat trimming. with 1 beer and two glasses of wine the total came to $125 with taxes and tip. I noticed that the two women were animated and engaging with the customers, while the gentleman seemed a bit awkward. Overall, nothing really distinguished this restaurant from any other cafe. They need to rethink the overall concept of what separates their vision from everyone else, and makes them stand out. read more

The four of us ordered an omelette, French toast, eggs medium (done perfect btw) and some oatmeal with all the fixings... everybody liked their meals very much.
