I was very impressed with this relatively new addition to the Hershey restaurant scene. The atmosphere is quite modern industrial, as it resides within a very renovated former Hershey recycling center. Hidden Still moved from Lancaster, and I did not have the opportunity to visit that location for comparison. The food options are great. Plenty of elevated pub fare items at one end and things like short rib pot roast and sea scallops and grits at the other. There is a pretty extensive kids' menu as well. The drinks are nicely crafted with in-house liquors like their David E. Bourbon, which is my personal favorite. As a beer fan, I was also impressed with their tap list consisting of PA drafts from all over the state. Make a reservation if you can because this place gets busy. read more

I went to Hidden Still Spirits before going to a concert and had a great experience. You need to make reservations for sure. Although it's a large venue, it was completely full. Our waiter was so accommodating, friendly and provided great service. He also made sure we were served quickly so we could get to the concert! We started out with their crafted signature bourbon cocktails, all outstanding. We started are food journey with Kung Pao Fried Sprouts and Bang Bang Calamari both were delicious. I came here with my grown kids and we just loved it. The building itself is architecturally beautiful and there is a large patio. We had a mix of salads, sandwiches and entrees and they were all plentiful and tasty. None of us are big liquor drinkers but the drinks looked beautiful as they passed by. Got lunch with my parents, wife, and two kids. The food and service, especially our server William, was incredible. My sons both have severe nut allergies and we stupidly ordered the fried Brussels sprouts without noticing they come with cashews. William suggested he take the dish back and bring us a new one at no charge. William was also really patient in taking my kids' lunch order, offering to make substitutions or put things on the side. And the FOOD!!! The Brussels are amazing. We also got chicken fingers. They are tender and salty-sweet. Absolutely irresistible. I tried this fairly new restaurant in Hershey for a weekday lunch during a business trip and it was very good. The clam chowder was excellent and I had the Pastrami Reuben which was really good. The place was packed so some people must like it, Very limited seating, your packed in tight, the alcohol was high priced, the food prices were very expensive and the portion size was good, but the food was just ok. Best place to get good food with "the" great(est) American whiskies ever (distilled) and yes, I did say greatest with a plural? And great cocktails too, if you are into it! Stop by to try the different whiskies (and other spirits distilled there) and do it if you can at the bar- and talk to Matt! This is such a solid place to visit if you are in the Hershey area. First off - the building itself is really something to marvel over. Modern/industrial vibe...you can't go wrong. Huge windows that bring in a ton of natural light. The only downfall to a space like this is noise, but that's to be expected as you walk in. If you are looking for a more intimate place to eat, I wouldnt have this at the top of your list, but if you wanted to just get drinks, or have a fun & casual lunch or dinner, totally the right spot. Their bar is pretty big, can likely sit 30 people or so, and their bartenders definitely know their stuff. There are even suggested cocktails on the menu per some of their plate offerings, which is appreciated. I ordered the elk burger, given you don't see that on an every day menu, and let me tell you...I could come back here for the burger ALONE. Cooked perfectly, and packed with flavor. The gaminess was actually complimented well with sweet bourbon caramelized onions, and then a nice fresh zing from the blue cheese. Their sweet potato fries were killer as well. I didnt go with their recommended drink, but I did have the Blueberry Cream Ale, and I thought that still went really well with the sandwich. Prepare to make reservations. This place is always packed, which if you dont trust my review, then at least trust what you hear when you try to make a reservation. Would highly recommend checking this place out. read more

We visited for the first time and had a great experience! We started with drinks at the bar. It was a busy night but the bartender (guy with blonde hair) was awesome and made us well blended drinks. Before we were sat, he gave us recommendations for food and he was spot on! Jessica was our waitress and she was also awesome! She had great food and drink suggestions as well. We got ribs and crab cakes and they were great picks. Best ribs I ever had! They have a dry rub so we took the advice and got both sauces on the side and we would do it that way again. The guy who ran our food, I wish I knew his name (mustache/beard) was also awesome. He would make a great waiter too! Our first visit here. Drink menu was amazing as well as the food menu options! Meal was paced well and the meal presentation was great. We selected the baby back ribs, and the prime rib sandwich, crab flathead app, and apple fritter dessert. All were freshly prepared and tasted amazing. Enjoyed a great meal with friends. Head bartender Billy started the night with expertly crafted cocktails. Especially liked the signature David E. Manhattan Started with a few appetizers; crab Scotch eggs and tuna nachos. Using fried wontons for the nachos was a delicious twist. Excellent flavor and crunch paired nicely with the fresh tuna. Main courses included sea scallops and grits cooked to perfection. My wife enjoyed the chicken and leek pie. The chicken was tender and flavorful in a delicate puff pastry. The meatloaf stack was a refreshingly different way to deliver an age old classic. Outstanding flavor in all respects. Shared a delicious bourbon pecan brownie. Had dinner here with two friends last month. All I can say is...WOW! This is an amazing addition to the Hershey dining scene. One block of Chocolate Avenue, the distillery and restaurant are housed in a renovated former Hershey chocolate plant. They distill their own spirits and use them to create signature cocktails that are a step above what I've found in the area. The food is absolutely amazing. We wanted to eat outside. The weather was calling for rain so all the restaurants had their patios closed. We called Hidden Spirits and they were so so kind and said come on over. They have an outdoor patio and a covered patio as well. The drink list was varied and the bourbon choices were excellent. The drinks actually taste like they had alcohol in them. Warning for dog-owners! We came to this restaurant specifically because it said it was pet friendly. I even called ahead, and should have taken the cue then that we weren't really wanted. We were told there "might not be patio seating available." (They were at no more than 1/2 capacity outside the entire time we were there). The sign did say to check in inside, but the rest of the town has been extremely pet-unfriendly, and I did not think they would want us to come in, so I went around to the bar in the back to ask what to do. The bartender was friendly and said he would have someone come to us. All good so far. The waitstaff took their time from there. A hostess finally came to lecture us on the fact that we should have gone to the front, but she would help us from there if we would wait while the hostesses "had a conference" about where and whether we could be seated. We were lectured twice more on the need to check-in at the front, then made to wait an excessively long time. I tried to explain that we were told to wait there. In the meantime, no fewer than 6 other parties, who arrived after us, were seated in the shady areas of the patio. My 12-year-old and I, who had just had a fairly miserable day of being turned away from every park, garden, cemetery, and campground we tried to visit because the town does not allow dogs anywhere, already had the distinct impression that Hershey is the most pet-unfriendly place we've ever been. We also found out that PA has recently passed a law making it nearly impossible for people to find pet-boarders, especially on short notice if you are from out of state. So, despite wanting to leave already, I swallowed my pride and just hoped we wouldn't be turned away and that I could salvage some of this trip with my child. After waiting in the hot sun for over 15 minutes and being ignored by most of the staff, I finally left my son with the dog to check in at the front, thinking we would not be seated unless I followed proper protocol at this point (which I would have done if they had just clearly stated this from the beginning, or if the sign at the front had indicated dogs were allowed in the lobby. The hostess was at the hostess stand and said I was "just on time" and that she was "about to come get us." Finally, when we were seated, we were placed in the hottest, least-shaded spot on the patio next to trash and cigarette butts (this is clearly where they place all the undesireables). My dog proceeded to lay in the cigarette butts to get out of the sun as much as possible. Someone did, thankfully, offer to bring her water. She loves people, is calm, and never barked. I understand restaurants not wanting animals, but please don't say you accept them, then treat customers like 3rd class citizens. The menu looked exciting and delicious, but fell flat. The haddock sandwich was excellent, the fries one step above cardboard. The snowshoe crab cakes tasted like they were a few days past their prime, but the brussel sprouts were good, and the quinoa salad respectable although not delicious. The bartender, alone, helped the rating. He deserved a 5-star review. Overall, we felt it was clear we were only barely being tolerated. We might have come back as this is the only "pet-friendly" place in town, but, alas, no thank you. read more

This place is great! They have a rotating seasonal menu and there is always something new and amazing to try! Their staff is super great, they opened up the patio for us on a colder day so we could sit outside with our puppy. They even have a grassy area with poop bags for all the doggos. read more

Made a res here based solely on Yelp reviews and can affirmatively say Hidden Still has earned its high rating. The drinks, apps, salads and entrees we ordered were delicious and well presented. Our server Layla wonderfully paced our meal, giving us time to enjoy or cocktails and apps. The pretzel and calimari were out of sight. Our salads and entrees were generously portioned. Loved the ambiance and the buzz of the dining room. My only nick is that when were seated in a booth that was directly next to the bar and in a high traffic area off the hostess stand into the dining room, the hostess would not move us to another open booth further away, telling us we had to be seated in a particular server's section. That's the first time that's ever happened to me, and the booth I asked for remained open through and after our meal. Our consolation though was Layla, one of the best servers we've had in quite some time. read more

We decided to come here before a concert, and I would say it was just okay. The drinks were the only thing we really liked. We ordered the Still fries as an appetizer, they were very under seasoned. We ended up having to add a lot of salt, they were just okay. We ordered 2 burgers for our entrees. My burger came out uncooked in the middle so it had to be sent back. But they were nothing special. We probably wouldn't come back here for the food. Very nice atmosphere though! The service was also amazing! The 1st time we dined here about 4 months ago it was perfect! Service was just ok but the food made up for it. The burger was juicy and tasty. The pulled pork was fantastic. Ok fast forward 2 months ago. Service was excellent (Hispanic gentleman with a low cut). Pulled pork this time was a smaller portion and dry. Hubby loved his meal (chicken pot pie). Ok fast forward again to today..absolutely horrible. The service (Anna) was not attentive nor friendly. Rarely checked on us and we felt like we were a bother. This time hubby ordered the fried cod with nonexistent "Gouda" mac and cheese. Too much mac and not enough cheese. The cod batter was thick and dark. Yuck I changed it up and ordered the chicken and dumplings..I actually came just to have the chicken pot pie but it was no longer available. This so called chicken and dumpling dish was served in the smallest ramekin looking bowl I've ever seen with a huge dry looking biscuit on top..uhhhhh where's the dumplings.. I didn't even taste it and sent it right back.. Definitely not an entrée and definitely not worth $20.. I opted for the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich instead. Omg it took FOREVER to come out!! With this long of a wait I expected it to be scorching hot but NOPE it was room temperature at best, although tasty. I'm not sure if they changed cooks but they need to get a new one and pronto!!! We will try it once more in the coming weeks or months and I hope things change for the better. read more

Food was excellent. All in my party enjoyed their meals and the prices are reasonable. Meatloaf/Mac was really good. Short ribs on point. Short rib and chicken were flavorful and portion sizes were perfect. Less than $50 for one person for meal and two alcoholic drinks. Good spirits distilled on site. Well made Tom Collins, Rosemary Bramble drink was great, my party enjoyed their beer, martini and margaritas, It's a loud place and was busy so not ideal for a quiet couples dinner but this was not unexpected either. The main issue that lost two stars was the service. The server, Layla, was disinterested in our group and walked by the table multiple times without noticing our attempts to get her attention for drink orders,including one when she was less than a foot away and was called by name. Only when the manager stopped to check on the table and we mentioned needing drinks did she respond. Could have just been the server but a 4 top,all drinking multiple rounds and ordering food deserves more than cursory attention and a seemingly uncaring attitude. Training opportunity for this staff member for sure. Will try again based on the food and hope for better service next time we are in Hershey. Edit. We really liked this restaurant. The atmosphere is chic with a cool vibe. They have a nice, looking loft with a view over the dining room. They also have patio seating on the patio outside. We made a reservation, which is recommended for a Saturday night. We dined in a nice quiet area of the restaurant. The place is large with lots of seating and parking in the lot. The food was amazing. I didn't take pictures this time, but I've been there twice before and posted on Google as well. This time, we ordered a couple of new dishes, though. We got the Still Fries. Amazing toppings on the fries. Bourson cheese melted on top with bacon and scallions. So delicious. I also tried the crab crusted salmon, which was amazing. I took the leftovers home and can't wait to eat it. The salmon has a lobster cream sauce and comes with roasted vegetable cous cous and asparagus. The service was excellent as well. We went 2 nights in a row and we never do that! The service is so outstanding especially the bartender Liana. She is just so accommodating and makes the very best old fashion. My wife is a diabetic and worries about sugar content. Liana made her the most wonderful drink. Over the 2 nights we had meatloaf, Nashville chicken, short rib grilled cheese, and the ol burger. All were absolutely delicious. In terms of service, I have never been approached by more employees ensuring that I was happy. Great place and in highly recommend. read more
