Entered the elevator n' saw their July music calendar posted, which was great bc I wanted to be in a music setting. They have live music n' a DJ on the weekends. Couldn't decide on a drink so the bartender asked what I liked n' my go-to request is for "fruity, strong, n' sweet." It turned out creamy n' good. The pupus we ordered to snack on were delicious, would definitely order them again. Atmosphere was nice n' casual. Drinks were good, food was great, n' the beats the night I went was my kine of music!
After some udon, we crossed the street for a drink and some live music. It was the perfect night with the island breeze, 2000s R&B playing, and a strong yet delicious espresso martini. The whole experience was perfect and made for such a great night out.
Stressful from the start. I called to inquire about parking a week prior to my rsv and was told they were sold out for the night. I mentioned that it was just a general question and i wasn't coming that night. They informed me that it's validated for two hours and it's first come first serve. After the 2 hours its $14 an hour. Getting into the valet area was stressful enough as there was a car parked right before you turn and pedestrians that walk back and forth from their main driveway entrance. I also had to wait for valet for a bit too as there was 2 other cars in front of me and probably only 2 valet on duty trying to move cars forward. Reservations can be made on open table, but there was really no point to doing that since it's open seating during happy hour times. We ended up just picking a table that was in the shade, and noticed they only have their menu by QR code which is kinda annoying. The server was pretty nice tho and he brought my dog some water mid way. Their happy hour runs from 2-6 and the menu is slightly less expensive. The food was kind of standard hotel type of food and nothing really stood out. Otherwise the vibes at the restaurant was nice and i do like that they allow dogs to join you. it seems like they have live music after a certain time. I was even more annoyed and stressed with the valet when i went to pick up my car. They literally just handed me my keys. My car was parked along the wall probably 20 steps away, but they could have at least taken out my car cause it was so hard to get out, but i guess it's nice they trust that i wont bang the car in front of back of me i guess even tho im a pretty terrible parker. at the time they didn't look as busy as when i first arrived, so i dont know why they couldn't have just done the bare minimum with just pulling out my car from the stall.
I loved finding this spot! I looked at the coffee situation at my hotel (Hilton Garden Inn) and the lack of anything but powered creamer (yuck) so immediately went on the hunt for something better. I initially tried the bakery directly across the street at the International Marketplace, but they didn't open until 7am. I began to walk towards a distant Starbucks I found on Google and noticed an active escalator and signage pointing towards the open Hideout at the Laylow. Advertising local coffee, I immediately took the ride upstairs and was greeted by two young ladies full of smiles and Aloha spirit! Being summertime and hot (even at 6am) I ordered a large iced latte and decided to drink it on their large open lanai. I'm glad I did. The breezes up there were perfect and watching the daylight get brighter with local birds chirping and fluttering about made for a very nice wake-up! This became my go-to stop every morning of my visit! I only ordered breakfast once and kept it low-carb so I had cheesy eggs and Portuguese sausage. Perfect and hit the spot. If staying at the Laylow (Marriott product) or close by, I'd recommend this as your morning wake-up as well! Enjoy!
Great service and yummy food... Tucked away at the Laylow hotel, is a chill restaurant with fun Hawaiian vibes. We started our vacation with dinner at the Hideout, and upon entering you could immediately hear live music. We received a warm welcome, and brought over to our booth where our server Kai was quick to greet us. We ordered cocktails (I don't remember the name of mine. It's something spritz, and my husband tried the banana bread old fashioned) and we shared the appetizer platter (brussel sprouts with pork belly, kalua pork egg rolls, poke tacos, and edamame)to share. We also ordered the garlic shrimp dumplings. Everything was super tasty. Lots of other items on the menu that I want to try during another visit to the island.
After being out all day in Waikiki we wanted a nightcap to end the day. It's a great rooftop spot with some views. We got seated right away even though we had a fairly large group. The service was quick and super friendly. Most importantly, all the drinks we ordered were delicious and we enjoyed our time there together.
Excellent brunch! Got the townside breakfast sammie- wow, one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in a while! The potatoes are cooked perfectly- soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. I really liked the side of garlic aioli. My fiance had the French toast with eggs, bacon, and toast. I also tried the vanilla latte- just everything was great. Would definitely come back. Great ambiance too!
Celebrated a birthday dinner here. For a party of 12, reservations are highly recommended. This restaurant is on the rooftop bar of The Laylow hotel, Waikiki. Serving Hapa cuisine and craft cocktails. Love their interior. Unfortunately it was raining when we were here so the lounge area was wet. Very laid back lanai vibes. They even had a live DJ. We made it to happy hour so we tried to order a little of everything on the menu to share. The Laylow Maitai was highly recommended, so we got a few of those. Crispy pork belly brussels sprouts - delish! Mainlander burger - good! Shrimp dumplings - okay. Truffle fries & Hideout fries - good! Chicken karaage - so good, got 2! Poke tacos - good! Kalbi beef plate - fave! For our keiki, she enjoyed their butter pasta. Honestly, I almost ordered one myself. Great dining experience. Friendly staff. Cost was reasonable since we made it to HH for half of our meal. Check it out!
Service and music were great! They use a QR code menu so to me finding a drink I wanted was not simple. We had the chocolate bread pudding was delicious and we really enjoyed the vibe!
Hideout is a nice large updated open space which you can access from the street by going up the escalator at the Laylow hotel. The decor is fresh and welcoming and offers a wide range of comfortable seating options. Servers and staff are calm, friendly and helpful. Hideout has one of the longest happy hours, daily 1-5pm, offering a wide selection of discounted foods and drinks.
We had a credit since we were staying here at the hotel and decided to get breakfast here to use it! If you are going for breakfast, you have to get the pancakes. They definitely could be the best pancakes we've ever had. They were so good. The rest of the breakfast was good too but those pancakes were stand out for sure. Lots of live music in the evening with a great vibe too.
Hideout for dinner was a total vibe! The live music was so much fun! It did start to rain a little outside but that didn't stop us from Enjoying the evening and the food! Steak was great !!!
A true cocktail bar, with a decent enough kitchen attached to it. I wanted to talk with the bartenders about the drinks, be transported by the live music, and customize a couple cocktails for the mood I was in. The staff here is working hard. Many Waikīkī restaurants are staffed by people projecting and living the island vibe. Hideout's bartenders, highlighted by James and Jeremy, kept my club soda topped off while I wasn't looking, and listened to my drink feedback to pick the right bourbon and guide my food choices. They also had a regular in that night who visits 5X/year - they knew what she wanted and put in the order invisibly when she sat down. The espresso martini is not to be missed, and worth its "best of island" award. You also do need to try the Mai Tai here - flavorful, bold, and strong but not spirit-forward. With live music every night, it's tempting to stop by again and again. If I'd had better food it'd be a slam dunk recommendation. I was not about this play on spinach and artichoke dip that I got, but I ate it; they were definitely willing to swap it out if I'd insisted. That's good service. On my last night and third visit to the bar, Jeremy made a strawberry lily koi lemon drop just for me, based on my request for something "fruity and acidic". It was lights out.
Whenever we pull up to Waikiki, the Hideout is a favorite spot for food and drinks with the homies. A reservation is best if you prefer being on the rooftop portion or have a large group. Even the waiting area is a vibe because it's connected to the adjoining hotel lobby and you can basically see and hear everything going on in the seating area. Wagyu Burger. Mo Bettah. That's it. That's the tweet. Jk, but allow me to expound. It's an incredible tasting burger. On the greasy side so you should probably cut it in half and put your phone away, but the bun absorbs it pretty well. Flavor is a 10/10 with that bacon jam and roasted garlic aioli. Let's be real it's probably one of the mo bettah things to get on the menu... ha If you're not a burger person, fear not, there's literally options for everyone's palette. Salads, wings, bowls, other sandwiches, fish. Our group had so much variety in food ordered, with everyone happy with what they got, so that goes to show how well curated the menu is. Same with cocktails. Espresso Martini with the mac nut foam was a great local twist. And the Hide & Seek (ube / pandan concoction poured from its own bottle) was memorable in flavor, but so strong tasting that you might not remember how the rest of your night goes if you have too many lol. Come for the vibes, not the food. I loved the ambiance and music, the drinks were good as well. As far as the food though, I wouldn't suggest making this your dinner, but more the social portion of your evening. For context I got the roasted corn salad with prawns, but it was missing two main listed ingredients...macadamia nuts (one of the main reasons I ordered it) and the Tomatoes (There were 3!). My three girlfriend had the islander salad or something like that and it was horrible as well. The kalbi however was killer, so I would have gotten that. Maybe it's a salad problem? Also the service was not good at all, we were never asked if we wanted a second drink or how the food was, because I would have asked for some extra tomatoes...and honestly maybe not written this review, I rarely write negative reviews. After a long day of traveling, I chose in-room dining with Hideout. After I placed the order on the Marriott app, it arrived within 20-25 minutes and was handled by friendly staff. I ordered the edamame, kalua egg rolls, and manoa chocolate bread pudding. The edamame was great with a tiny bit of spice - enough for someone like me that can barely tolerate mild buffalo sauce. The pork in the kalua egg rolls was dry, but the pineapple jam helped and its sweetness complemented the egg rolls well. There was a little bit of slaw inside the egg rolls that served no purpose other than texture. Most of the slaw created a bed underneath the egg rolls. Finally, the bread pudding was chocolate overload - in a good way. It was very decadent and the chocolate gelato was my favorite part. What I liked about the service was that the delivery to the room was more takeout style than in-room dining. The food was provided in to-go containers inside of a brown bag. This is a lot less awkward to discard after finishing your meal compared to having a tray, and calling room service again to come collect it or leaving the tray outside your door in the hallway. The entrees didn't appeal to me and some of them seemed overpriced, which is why I didn't order any, but I recommend Hideout if you'd like a casual place to dine with quick service and a more elevated menu. read more

By far, this was my favorite restaurant in the Waikiki area. They served the best Mai Tai I had during my stay: well-balanced and not overly sweet. The outdoor setting, paired with live music, made the experience even more enjoyable and truly captured the Waikiki vibe. I ordered the Pork Belly Skillet, and it absolutely did not disappoint. It was rich, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. read more
Our waitress was the star of the show! She was so attentive + so friendly. The ambiance is relaxed and it's in the Ludlow hotel. We had brunch on a weekday morning with no wait. Food: - We thought the loco moco was too salty (the gravy was overpowering) but the eggs + meat were cooked well. I wasn't able to make a reservation, the restaurant was not answering the phone. I walked in that same evening and was able to get a table inside the restaurant. It did get a little warm. If you sit on the deck, it's much cooler. There was live music playing, then a DJ started to play later in the night. Very trendy ambience. Good place to come with friends. Our waitress was attentive and quick. Great service. Food: The braised short ribs were tender and flavorful. The mash was filled with spices and perfectly prepared. The brussel sprouts were crispy. I would've preferred a little more fat on the pork belly, but that's just me. The portion size was perfect to share. Sweet and savory dish. read more
It's located in the lobby of the LayLow hotel and it truly is a hideout. Great atmosphere and tucked away in between all the city noise. If you come in the evening, you might even be able to catch some live music. The food was pretty good. I came here twice for breakfast. Here is what I tried: + Laylow Breakfast - Simple breakfast; I chose spam as my choice of protein. Honestly you can't go wrong. It was filling and delicious. + Loco Moco : The wagyu beef patty and mushroom gravy were savory and seasoned well. I'm not sure if it was the patty or the gravy but something was heavy on the black pepper. It wasn't the best loco moco I have ever had but I still enjoyed it. + Buckwheat Pancakes : Pretty good but I wish they were more fluffy. + Laylow "Hawaiian Style" Cold Brew : Light coconut flavor and the macadamia nut cold foam was good. read more

Stopped to check out their HH and waited for the live music. I stayed for 5 hours!! That says a lot! The food and drinks were great! I had the pork belly Brussels spouts (AMAZING), the garlic fries (Delish) and my friend ordered the spicy edamame and chicken salad bowl. Everything was so good! Probably one of the best places to enjoy a dirty martini or an old fashioned. The ambiance is fantastic, with live music and a great staff that makes you feel truly welcome. I came here twice during my trip -- that's how good it was! A must-try is the truffle fries -- full of flavor, served hot and fresh. The view is another highlight you don't want to miss, and I really appreciated the umbrellas they provide in case of unexpected rain. Highly recommend! read more

I chose this place for the Banana Bread Old Fashioned. Cool vibe, but if you are flying solo like I was, the bar is crowded so you may end up around a fire pit with others. Live music. Over looks Kuhio Ave so there is a lot to see if you are near the edge. Server was prompt. I ordered the Mo Better burger. So good. Bun was soft and buttery. Added bacon. Old Fashioned was great as well. I ordered a second drink (Mai Tai) and it took a bit (20 minutes) to come out. That's the only negative comment I can make). Bill was $80. read more

To start off, come during dinner time on Sunday because the artist performing live music Jasmin Nicole is . She plays a mix of throwback classics, r&b, reggae, and more and had us jamming all night during dinner. For the food, the HFC appetizer was crispy and had a kick of spice but the flavor and seasoning was super good. I ordered the Mo Bettah burger and it was the perfect burger I needed with the jam inside it was flavorful. I had to try their signature espresso martini and it was pretty good, with a different taste to it due to the macadamia nut foam and it was strong. Our waitress Sarah was really kind and kept refilling our drinks without asking! This spot is definitely a must visit on the waikīkī strip for any visitors. We will be back!! read more
The hideout is a solid spot that won't let you down and will even impress you with a few of its items. Their catch of the day with beurre blanc came cooked in a way that allowed the accompaniments to go together and create a unified taste that leaves you appreciating the dish. For appetizers + Kalua Egg Rolls- the Kalua pork on the island is never a miss, regardless of how it is implemented + Edamame- I know it is just edamame, but if you love spicy, you'll get it Since I stayed at The Laylow, I had the opportunity to swing by for drinks a few times, and they without a doubt have the best mai tai. The monkeypod might argue and say it's them, but their foamy, tasteless drink is far from that. If you prefer to avoid the sweet beverages, well, the "meet me at midnight" will provide the elegance of an old-fashioned with the punch of a Manhattan. The outdoor deck style seating is a beautiful option to have when you're on the island. The service was never bad. read more
Best espresso martini I've had in my entire life - and I've had quite a few. They do a signature macadamia froth which really takes the drink to the next level. Great vibes here. The ambiance really made me feel like I was on vacation without a worry in the world. There was live music when we stopped by Sunday evening and rooftop seating was the perfect place to enjoy the sunset. I would make a reservation to be safe (no cancellation fee). I would highly recommend for large groups and celebrations. We didn't dine in for dinner here but the apps and other drinks we got were amazing too. Sashimi was super fresh! read more

Such a vibe here on the rooftop in Waikiki! Our waitress was incredible giving recommendations and had great energy. A modern bar/restaurant with some live music in the evening. Happy hour was the way to go, we got to try the Mai Tai and their poke tacos. For our meal we had the catch of the day which is so fresh and delicious and the Caesar salad with seared ahi tuna (incredible). The waitress made our meal special with a dessert to celebrate my birthday and it was one of my favorites, lychee gelato. Try to book a reservation if you can because the experience here is great! read more
I'm ready for the Hideout to break out as it was truly one of the best dining and drinking experiences that I have enjoyed during my recent stay at Waikiki in Honolulu, Hawaii. Located on the promenade level of The Laylow Waikiki, which serves as an Autograph Collection resort, The Hideout at The Laylow as it is officially known as, basically serves as the hotel's restaurant and bar but upon our own discovery of this establishment, it is so much more, as they serve as a gathering spot for weary travelers looking for one of the best espresso martinis and other festive cocktails, in addition to those who are looking for a great Happy Hour deal, and those who just happen to be staying at the The Laylow Waikiki, and with the pool well cordoned off past the entranceway, the Hideout truly lived up to its name with an quite unassuming patio that overlooked the bustling Kūhiō Avenue without hearing any of the ambient noise that traditionally comes with it. Of the group of visitors we fell into the Happy Hour group that was hungry and arrived just in time looking for a good affordable meal accompanied with a festive local cocktail to pair with it. Upon our arrival, my dining mate and I managed to get lucky and find the two connected seats that were remaining at the bar area. The Happy Hour menu at the Hideout is separated into categories including their signature Combo, which featured their Mai Burger and Mai Tai; two Cocktails; one Wine, four Draft Beers; and plenty of options to eat. They also had an additional beverage menu and lunchtime menu when we visited. To start our meal off right, I ordered their Tropical Sangria which was filled with seasonal flavors, while my dining mate ordered their Happy Hour cocktail, their Blue Hawaiian which was made with Bacardi Coconut, Bacardi Pineapple and Soda Water. To eat, we ordered three items from the eat section of their Happy Hour menu, including their Kalua Egg Rolls, which were filled with Kalua Pork, Island Slaw, and served with a Pineapple Jam dipping sauce; their Kauai Shrimp Dumplings, which were topped with Sweet Chili and Yuzu Chili Butter; and their Wonton Poke Tacos which were made with Ahi Poke and Avocado, and topped with Yuzu; and served with a Mango Salsa. Once we were served our cocktails, I loved the refreshing quality of my Sangria which was the perfect breezy cocktail to enjoy while out on their terrace, but my friend took a brief taste of their Blue Hawaiian and felt it was too sweet for their taste, so they asked to order another cocktail, of which she ordered their So Fetch cocktail which was made with Lalo Tequila, Strawberry Calpico, Basil, Hibiscus and Honey. This new cocktail order was right up their alley and the team did not charge to make the original cocktail, which was a very nice gesture. We enjoyed all three of our Happy Hour food entrées, with the highlight being their Kauai Shrimp Dumplings, which were five of the nicest and tastiest dumplings that either of us have enjoyed in quite some time. We easily could have ordered an additional bowl of these dumplings and could have been satisfied right then and there, but thankfully we were able to enjoy the crunchiness of both their Poke Tacos and Egg Rolls. Staying there for the next couple of hours, we encountered some nice people, including their staff, which included our server/ bartender Taylor who was so pleasant and accommodating, as a couple next to us came in to enjoy their Hideout Signature Espresso Martini, made with Big Island Coffee Roasters Espresso, Pau Maui Vodka, Caffé Borghetti and topped with Macadamia Nut Espresso Foam. It sounded so good and looked even better that my dining mate just had to order one for themselves and was not disappointed as it was a cool creamy blend of coffee and liqueur. Our total bill was $96.33 before gratuity was added in, and it was an enjoyable meal and experience all around. We will be coming back to the hideout to enjoy a nice meal and live music during the warmer months in Waikiki, as this bar and restaurant is a hidden gem that deserves to be discovered by more locals and tourists alike. read more
Hideout was such a vibe! We loved the rooftop setting--the view of the city was beautiful, and the ambiance was perfect with cozy fire pits and a great overall atmosphere. We started with the Kalua pork and rolls, and they were so good--super flavorful and such a great start to the meal. For mains, I had the braised beef short rib bowl and my boyfriend got the pad thai. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection--we were seriously impressed with the quality. This place really had it all--delicious food, a stunning view, and a relaxed, stylish rooftop vibe. We would totally come back on our next trip to Honolulu! read more
Such a cute rooftop spot! The vibes were chill, music was on point, and it wasn't super packed for a Sunday morning (which I loved). I ordered the pork belly skillet -- and wow, it was AMAZING. All the flavors blended perfectly, and the kimchi added the best kick. My boyfriend got the breakfast burrito (and keep in mind he doesn't even like eggs) -- he said it was "okay," lol. Overall, really good vibes, tasty food, and nice options to choose from. Definitely a spot I'd come back to! read more

Family of 5 went for dinner after a long day of travel. Food was top notch, and the presentation was beautiful. Service was great, our server was shelby and she was so helpful and accommodating. And the restaurant is a beautiful, Hawaiian restaurant. Would go back again. The shrimp dumpling are phenomenal. read more

Drinks: virgin mai tai (super tasty and beautiful with a flower in it), citrus swell, fries. Service: Bartender Aaron was attentive and friendly and made us feel welcome. Ambiance: live music! This is why we came here for before dinner drinks with live music. Clara Stegwell was performing and she has a beautiful sweet voice and plays the guitar. She played songs from different decades that you could recognize and that were easy listening. Just what I was looking for. Really enjoyable. We sat at the bar and you can see the small stage from there. It is all open into a lanai with different chairs for your comfort. They also pipe the music into the inside (and the bathrooms!) so you can hear the music. This was a very relaxing and pretty spot to chill and enjoy a good drink and music. We will definitely return when in Waikiki. Location: inside the Laylow Hotel. Enter from Kuhio St. and take the escalator up. What a wonderful hidden gem. It's tucked away on Kuhio, off the beach front but the skyline views and open-air patio are just as good. They have fantastic mai tais and their happy hour was a great way to snack before heading to Cirque du Soleil. I enjoyed the pork egg rolls (especially with the pineapple jam which is sadly not available for purchase - I tried). The whole crew was friendly and just, nice. This would be an excellent spot to become a regular and also for the live music. Can't wait to visit again. read more

The bar is very clean. the menu is not that diverse but extra point to the bartenders for adaptability *asking for drinks thats not on the menu but still making it* . The bartenders aren't too friendly/ talkative as it was busy. the bartenders were very aware and observant to all customers. gave me club vibes because of the Dj's song selection. tbh I expected a intimate cozy, low-lit ambience. total opposite but i wasn't mad. read more

Best bar in the area! The bartenders are all amazing, helpful, and friendly (especially Jeremy, James, and Carson). The breakfast is amazing (try the breakfast sandwich with bacon jam or the short rib breakfast burrito) and so is the dinner (some of the best brussel sprouts). This takes a lot, but after trying a few really good places, I am committed to saying that I like the Hideout's Mai Tai the most out of any others I have tried on the island! The restaurant area is nice and open with plenty of seating and heated lamps to keep you warm at night. The bar is always fun and busy. Hideout holds a special place in our hearts as this was the first restaurant we went to celebrate our engagement about 3 years ago. Last night we stopped by again and it was just as amazing as our last visit. The ambiance was amazing from live music to the atmosphere to the food and drinks. Luckily we were able to walk in and sat at the bar which I prefer and Aaron was attentive even though he was busy with making awesome drinks. I tried the Lilikoi martini which was good but too sweet for my liking. The hideout special espresso martini was tasty, I enjoyed the mac nut foam. My husband got beer. As for food we tried the french fries which was seasoned but it gave us heartburn lol. The kalbi bowl was delicious though, the meat was tender, white rice cooked well and the kimchi was good. read more
Hideout is the best way to describe this spot. Waikiki is packed with tourist including us so if you're looking to get away from the crowd but still have a nice view/roof top vibes, the hideout was such a nice getaway. It does get busy at night so I recommend booking a reservation. Since it's more like chill hang out spot, a seated area might be slower than a restaurant. Booking a reservation especially with a larger group could get you a better view too! We didn't order any food but wished we did! We just finished dinner at another location and decided to come here for drinks. The view, the service, the cocktails, live music on a summer night! Super cute place! It wasnt busy at alllll when I went on a random Saturday morning, which is so rare for town. Their espresso martini was amazing and my partner loved his mai tai. If it wasn't so far from where I live in Kapolei, I would definitely be a regular! read more
Stopped by to meet friends for a couple drinks and had a blast. Served was quick and super friendly. I was packer but that didn't stop the great service. Loved the feel and the DJ was so good. I wish we got to stay longer! I will go back to experience it more and maybe try out some food. The espresso martini was yummy , but by the second I would say it was a little sweet. So I just sipped on some bourbon. But check this place out! Super fun! read more

Yes! there were lots of kids, even very young ones) when I was there recently
The online menu says they have "mimosas for the table" at Sunday brunch. Is that still offered? I don't see it mentioned in anyone's reviews which seems unusual.
Hideout recently brought brunch service back since the pandemic. Mimosas for the table is a new addition to the Sunday brunch menu, which is why you may not see reviews about it. Hope this helps!

Is the vibe of this place too young for seniors? I need a family friendly place for dinner with my aunties, in their 60s and 70s
It is a bit trendier on weekend nights but totally doable with your aunts. The dinner food was good, breakfast not so much. It is a pretty chilled out place with nice music and they have firepits incase your aunts get cold.
So my truck is lifted and my wheels are kinda wide do they let you just leave your vehicle upfront or someone takes it and drives it somewhere?
You might want to call the hotel and check my answer, but we felt their valet garage was tight and cramped. It sounds like your truck would be a tight fit. I'm pretty sure you can park at the International Marketplace which is right next door.…

Only the coffee place was open and you can sit anywhere

There's valet in front of the hotel. It's located next to escalator. The Hideout can validate yr ticket.
