Excellent Lunch Spot for your family! My husband, son, Mother and I stopped for a quick lunch after shopping and it was better than expected. Their spot is downstairs next to a surf shop and the vibe is lowkey during the day and plenty of room for a stroller. Ordered a guava & passionfruit mimosa and they were so tasty and refreshing. I had a very disappointing experience because of the manager, Ian. While I was there, he was speaking to one of his coworkers in an extremely rude and disrespectful manner right in front of customers. It was uncomfortable to witness and completely unprofessional. When I politely mentioned that he shouldn't be speaking to his employee that way, he laughed at me instead of addressing the situation. He then became rude toward me as a customer, making dismissive comments instead of handling the interaction professionally. No employee deserves to be treated like that, especially in front of customers, and no customer should be mocked for respectfully speaking up. We had two dishes from the happy hour apps -- the coconut shrimp and the tuna tataki. The ambiance was lively. They played jazz/hawaiian Christmas music, and the server/host was attentive. ShoreFyre Beach Bar + Grill's happy hour was not it....... I think ShoreFyre has such a great location at the International Market Place, but it was a disappointing happy hour for me. I ordered the Hibachi Steak Happy Hour and paid +$4 to upgrade my rice to fried rice. It was a $19 happy hour meal that looked pretty, but the meat I got were literally 75% pieces of steak fat. The fried rice was not throughly cooked and not flavored well. It wasn't consistent and was not worth +$4 up charge. I think this was the worst happy hour I visited.... I had so much hope. The service was also fair! I will say, the Coconut Shrimp was delicious! My husband ordered it and it was delicious, but RUN AWAY FROM HIBACHI STEAK! Love MonkeyPod. Delicious Food, Epic MaiTais. Earls is top Notch. Beautiful Steaks, amazing Service. For my money? No spot better than Shorefrye. It's about a half block back off the main drive. I think the location must be the only reason it isn't completely slammed from open till close. It doesn't appear to be anything extraordinary from street view, but the menu is enticing. I dodged a few "woah, killer bro!" surfers and their boards going down the steps to the bar. The food is so damn good. I've tried a bunch of stuff. Shrimp Ceviche, Hibachi Steak, Loco Moco, hell even the quesadilla was banging. I was digging on the coconut Mai Tais and the bottled import beers. The bartender is an awesome guy and will take great care of you. The value for the price is unbeatable. The happy hour is an awesome deal I don't think anyone on the island can beat it. Sad I wasted time and money going anywhere else. Hopefully the rest of you will ignore my advice and spend $90 on the Korean BBQ/Seafood buffet across the corner at the Hyatt so I can still stroll in whenever I like. Shorefyre has two locations in Waikiki. This one was down the street from our hotel so we stopped in on our first day in Hawaii. The vibe at this location is super casual and beachy. Happy hour is 3-6 pm every day! We ordered the 4 for $38 special. The winners were the ceviche, popcorn shrimp, and hibachi steak. I end up ordering a veggie omelet and potatoes-no joke you guys but my food was out to me not even 5 mins later, this was A BIG PLUS!!!!! Great customer service, and my food was amazing my omelette was well cooked veggies were fresh and potatoes were everything and more, not to hard or soft but with a little crunch on the outside and soft in the middle. Right next to the Shorefyre Koa location is a small surf shop where young surfers of all levels come to have their date with the tip of the blue wave. Sitting at this tiny beach bar watching surfers preparing for their adventure is a joy. I wish I could join them, only if I had grown a pair of invisible wings just like theirs. Happy hour 3-6 is my preferred time to visit during the week. Signature cocktails for 10 dollars and a great selection of bar snacks that cost $ 15 or less are the best deal around. I love seafood, so I always order 'Fresh Ahi Tuna Tataki' and Tropical Shrimp Ceviche. Food is fresh and delicious. I have been coming here for 4 years and have never had any bad meals here. Servers are always friendly and prompt. The Kov location is off the beach, a block away from the Duke statue, an ideal place to get away from the chaotic Waikiki jungle. read more

We came here for casual drinks and dinner as it was about 10 minutes walking distance from our hotel (and Tiki's was closed for a holiday party). This was one of the recommendations we got from our waitress at Merriman's and it was definitely more lowkey than a lot of the places on the main strip of Waikiki. We liked how casual the vibe was and we opted to eat outside. We each ordered fruity Hawaiian cocktails (I got a blue Hawaii) and we ordered the pork and the fresh catch. The kalua pork was *chefs kiss* -- fatty, salty, rich... when you're in Hawaii, pork is always a solid choice and this sandwich at Shorefyre was no exception. The truffle fries were yummy, too. My mom really liked the fish from what I remember. Worth noting that the bathroom here is in a separate building in a back alley -- kinda sketchy, but not a deal breaker. The restaurant is upstairs on the third floor of the mall with the other restaurants. They have a large indoor and beautiful outdoor seating with a view. They have live music at night as well. This was absolutely phenomenal. We had it with the fried rice. The gravy was super savory and unique, it paired well with the meat and gravy. It was SO GOOD. My friend paid so I didn't see the itemized bill until later I ordered the Kalbi lunch plate which came with 1.25 pieces of Kalbi, a supahhh small portion of fried rice, and 2 pieces of asparagus. The menu said $25 but I was charged $35 on the receipt. For the portion size, $25 was already too much. I would never order a $35 LUNCH entree from a casual restaurant like this so it was definitely a bait and switch with the bill.
