Amanda was Amazing- food was great, drink recommendations were on point, and fast! Definitely worth eating here! Also, the views are amazing.

Food, great. Ambiance, chill. View, beautiful. Didn't come for a full dinner, but instead enjoy pupu plates with my girls. The Mac cheese and chicken wings were so tasty. They honestly had the best brussel sprouts I have ever had. The crisp * chefs kiss. But what really made this experience was our host TAI. Literally from the moment we walked into the restaurant/bar, until we left.. she took such good care of my group. She made my bachelorette dinner so so special and I'm forever grateful! She's the reason for the 5 star! Cannot forget about Alexis also - she was super accommodating and just as sweet!!

**This is a review for the experience, it is not for the food. My friend wanted to go to SKY for her birthday, so I made a reservation for sunset. After reading the reviews, I opted for drinks and apps, and booked dinner elsewhere. Our table had a nice view, though to take a photo with the sunset, there is only a small corner where this can be done. Our service was good, and the drinks came out quickly. We shared the charcuterie board, which was fine, but just okay for the price. We came on a beautiful evening and it was lovely to sit on the rooftop with good friends and drinks, enjoying the view. I think the experience was great based on our planning and expectations.

The perfect spot for a reasonably priced happy hour cocktail and fries! Great ube drink and mai tai, amazing ambiance and view! If you want a quality and aesthetic place to go, this is it!!

VIEWS - and a great sunset is what's up at Sky Waikīkī! We came here for oysters and champagne and it was a beautiful day . Special shout out to Damian for always being so welcoming and inviting! Highly recommend asking for his section whenever you are here . Great vibes always !! Will be back !!

We went for happy hour and the food was solid - good prices. The appetizers were great and there were many options. The appeal of the location was primarily the view and ambiance. Service was solid and we got great seats to see most of Waikiki. Enjoyed our time here.

Celebrated a friend's birthday here at Sky. It's a rooftop spot with stunning panoramic views. There were a lot of groups there, so it's a great place for birthdays, reunions, or any kind of gathering. The staff were attentive and made sure we were taken care of throughout the night. The food portions varied depending on the dish, but overall it was a fun, lively place to celebrate with friends while enjoying the beautiful Waikiki skyline.

The coconut girl was way too sweet! I like sweet but this was cloying. I couldn't even taste the alcohol unfortunately. The prosciutto was good but we were expecting local fruits, this didn't hit the mark. Finally, we had a reservation and weren't even seated with a view. The food was meh. I recommend skipping this place if you're visiting.

OVERALL: food was disappointing as were the views FOOD: overcooked short ribs with sauce that tastes like ketchup, bad octopus that was overcooked and had random pieces of spam and a black sauce that added no value. Small portions but enough for two to share. Mocktails were great. SERVICE: hostesses were great--super friendly and helpful. I had an interaction with a waitress waiting on a table next to mine who was so rude. She was a young blonde with a high braided ponytail. Our actual waitress was friendly and professional though. VENUE: very small. You only get a decent view if you're sitting in the area in front of the bar and even then all you get is a view of buildings. Everyone else sits along the glass wall with views of the parking lot. Pretty sure all the review about the views are fake having now been there. It is also hard to find the place but it's next to the H&M

    "8 oz" center cut steak.

The view was nice but the only good part of this place. We shared the 8oz steak that was only 4 oz and over salted, the Calabrian chile butter was flavorless and still frozen when it arrived at our table. We also ordered the side mac n cheese and it was bland and definitely frozen/premade. The service was ok the staff was very friendly but continuously brought wrong orders to wrong tables or just seemed frazzled. I would recommend coming here just for sunset and for drinks don't waste your money on the food, it was so expensive for the portion even for Waikiki.

If you are in Honolulu, this is the one place you need to check out! Food was great. We didn't take a pic of our wing dings but it was delicious. The ladies who served us was great! If you go to the women's restroom, make sure you Venmo or to tip the Nana so gives you an assortment of bathroom goodies! Fun place to just chill, celebrate a birthday or just have fun here in the 808!

One of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time, thanks to Amanda. She was attentive, genuine, and made everything feel effortless. Her service elevated the whole night--we even ordered extra rounds just because we were enjoying ourselves so much. Amanda is a standout. Highly recommend.

Sky Waikiki is all about the views and the vibe. The city skyline from up here is beautiful--especially at sunset rolling into night. It's one of those spots where the atmosphere really carries the experience. The food holds its own too. The steak and seafood were on point--well-cooked, flavorful, and definitely satisfying. If you're a steak lover, this is a solid place to check out. The energy picks up as the night goes on. Live music, DJ, and a full-on club vibe especially on a Friday. Just know the sound hits hard, so it's not the quiet dinner type of place. Staff was friendly and kept things moving despite the busy crowd. Perfect spot if you want dinner that turns into a night out with great views, good food, and high energy.

    Cheers

Ask the Community - SKY Waikiki

What music genres is played there?

Does this turn into a club after restaurant hours?

Yes, with free entry if you had dinner there

Is there a cover charge and dress code (can shorts be worn) for the club?

There is a cover charge of about $20 dollars and the dress code is formal so no shorts.

Hi, Need reservation for Saturday night? Tks.

100% get a reservation! We were seated very quickly but it was very busy!

    Can kids dine?

I feel like when I was there there were some quiet, well behaved well dressed children there with their posh looking parents...I'd say best behavior is probably the standard because most people don't want to hear kids screaming or running around at…

    Is this the revolving restaurant?

Top of Waikiki was the revolving restaurant, located above Sky Waikiki. They have been closed since the pandemic.

Do we need to have reservation? Or is it first come first serve?

I highly recommend reservations but they have some seating for walk-in's

    Are Kids allowed?

I have been there twice with young children (4-6 year olds). It wasn't a problem at all but perhaps because they were happily sitting and not loud.

    Is there a Dress code?

I believe there isn't. My hubby wore his slippers shorts and button up short sleep

    Where is the parking?

You have to park in the garage about two blocks away. Look up parking garages on your maps.

Do we need to make reservations if we are only there to order drinks at the bar?

Yes the bar seating is really limited (like 6 seats) so I'd recommend a reservation.

    Is there Happy Hour?

    Yes!

Do we have to make a reservation?

No but it's wise too. If you don't, I would show up early and there may be a wait.

    Is there parking validation?

Yes but I believe you need to spend $50 or more.

How do you make a reservation? No one ever answers the phone :(

Go online to Open Table or use the app.

    Is there a dress code?

There is a sign that says no beach wear.

So you take walk ins? If we came at around 5:30 on a Friday night would we be able to get sat by 7 or so? Or is it like impossible to get sat w/o a reservation?? PS i am…

Good luck on a walk in. Making a reservation gets you sat in the seat with a view.

Do they have a better number to call? No one answers the number posted and when it goes to voicemail, it refers to another number...

Nope. They just don't answer. You have to go in.

Is there an age limit during early hours?

No age limit. I saw young children with their parents eating. All good.

Can you just order drinks? Or do you have to order food as well?

Now you can. Before you had to order food with the COVID-19 city mandated restrictions.

We started our vacation with dinner at the Hideout, and upon entering you could immediately hear live music. We received a warm welcome, and brought over to our booth where our server Kai was quick to greet us. We ordered cocktails (I don't remember the name of mine. It's something spritz, and my husband tried the banana bread old fashioned) and we shared the appetizer platter (brussel sprouts with pork belly, kalua pork egg rolls, poke tacos, and edamame)to share. We also ordered the garlic shrimp dumplings. Everything was super tasty. Lots of other items on the menu that I want to try during another visit to the island.

I mentioned that it was just a general question and i wasn't coming that night. They informed me that it's validated for two hours and it's first come first serve. After the 2 hours its $14 an hour. Getting into the valet area was stressful enough as there was a car parked right before you turn and pedestrians that walk back and forth from their main driveway entrance. I also had to wait for valet for a bit too as there was 2 other cars in front of me and probably only 2 valet on duty trying to move cars forward. Reservations can be made on open table, but there was really no point to doing that since it's open seating during happy hour times. We ended up just picking a table that was in the shade, and noticed they only have their menu by QR code which is kinda annoying. The server was pretty nice tho and he brought my dog some water mid way. Their happy hour runs from 2-6 and the menu is slightly less expensive. The food was kind of standard hotel type of food and nothing really stood out. Otherwise the vibes at the restaurant was nice and i do like that they allow dogs to join you. it seems like they have live music after a certain time. I was even more annoyed and stressed with the valet when i went to pick up my car. They literally just handed me my keys. My car was parked along the wall probably 20 steps away, but they could have at least taken out my car cause it was so hard to get out, but i guess it's nice they trust that i wont bang the car in front of back of me i guess even tho im a pretty terrible parker. at the time they didn't look as busy as when i first arrived, so i dont know why they couldn't have just done the bare minimum with just pulling out my car from the stall.

Located in a hotel called The Romer on Nāhua Street in Waikiki off of Kuhio (closer to Ala Wai Canal) it is a smallish unpretentious looking building on Diamond Head side of Nahua. They have valet stand in front and validate parking for up to 3 hours. The valet wasn't very friendly when we walked towards him and usually they hold the door open but this one did not. We realize he's probably not part of Lei Stand staff but it doesn't make a good first impression. Walk into the lobby and directly to your left is the Lei Stand. It is brightly neon but dark if that makes sense, and very small. If you're a fan of when it used to be on Bethel St downtown then you'll be disappointed with this venue. No view to be had, dark drapes cover the windows (we were there at 6:00 pm) and no cute little lanai or garden. Tiny tables either high tops or rounds - maybe 10 total and a small bar. There was one tiny corner booth. The lost star was for this set up but also another lost star for NO MUSIC. Music is such an important part of a place especially a bar so we were disappointed and appalled there was only silence. Bartender said the music was "broken" so we turned on our phones to get something on our table. Then two girls brought in something to light the place up with some tunes so that helped. The final lost star was it is called The Lei Stand yet there wasn't a lei stand inside the place. When we asked the bartender where it was he didn't even know what a lei was. Then we explained to him and he said it is in the hotel lobby but you have to go to front desk to let them know you wish to purchase one. Another disappointment. Thank goodness I bought her a lei from downtown in case they didn't have any. The good stars ... Star 1 goes to the drink menu and how delicious they tasted. "Rub up on my belly" was beautifully prepared and so delicious I had to have another one lol I mean how could I refuse a second guava jam infused Tito's vodka??? Bartender prepared with cute little garnish and an ice stick to keep it cold! He was very nice and took good care of us. My friend opted for the "Clifton's Curse" - yes there's a back story to this drink- and enjoyed the cognac, absinthe, bitters and sherry concoction! Ono! Star 2 goes to the food or "nibbles" as they call it. Taro chips and crack dip were yum and a nice handful of chips not too much and not too little. Hurricane fries - to die for! Plenty of furikake, parmigiano reggiano and spicy aioli. The girls who brought our food were very nice and made sure we had what we needed to enjoy, bringing us waters too. They also had a smash burger for $25 but we had dinner rez later so didn't want to indulge but it looked good. It might be cute if you wanted to do a private party here and I noticed a room across with a beautiful large table set up for a private dinner - not sure if part of hotel or bar.

The House Without a Key is at the back of the hotel facing the beach and famous Diamond Head. The menu is excellent and the service is truly exceptional. The Halekulani Coconut Cake is our favorite dessert, anywhere in the world. Prices are a bit high even for Hawaii, but we think that they are worth a nice lunch on the amazing waterfront. The name of the restaurant comes from one of the Charlie Chan mystery books written by Earl Derr Biggers in the late-1920's. The legend is that Biggers, a Honolulu police detective, wrote his Chan books in the back yard of a friend that lived in a house where the hotel is now located. A bonus - the restaurant comps parking at the hotel - just tip the guys parking the cars.
