Poorly hung paintings falling on us as we tried to take a group photo

TEA TIME: I called around 6pm and asked if they could accommodate a party of 16, since their online reservation system wouldn't allow booking for more than 12 people. I acknowledged that it was very last minute and understood that there was a high probability they wouldn't be able to at such short notice. However, the woman who answered the phone said it would be no problem, but that we would be seated indoors and not on the sky deck. That was perfectly fine for us! We showed up at 7:30pm, and the sweet and welcoming hostess, Tai (we love her), walked us into what we thought was a private room. It was actually a karaoke room with table settings that were so crowded together on a series of small tables; there wasn't nearly enough table space to accommodate all of us. Additionally, the tables were so far away from the booths that it was actually ridiculous that they expected us to eat like that. We asked Tai if there was any way she could add a few tables and chairs and informed us that she actually had space on the terrace. Yay? She walked us outside and brought us to literally the smallest, shortest table/corner booth I have ever seen. They expected 16 grown women to fit there? After raising concerns, THEN they told us we would have to split our party into two tables. Now we're annoyed. Why would u say over the phone that you accommodate our party when they CLEARLY could not? We ended up squeezing 12 of us into the booth and 4 of us had a separate table. Thankfully, they had great service and truly enjoyed their meal. I wish we could say the same. The 12 of us decided to order a bunch of items and share them family style. Since we were all sharing, our waitress, Anna R, offered to bring us extra plates. A few moments later, she arrives with the plates and says, "the plates are kinda big, so I brought you guys 8 of them." She actually only brought 7. Why would you bring us 7 plates for 12 people?? Did she expect us to share plates??? The math is not mathing. She comes back to take our drink orders. We tell her that we're actually just gonna do a round of tequila shots. Tell me why she goes, "OH THANK GOD" as if in relief, implying that if we each individually ordered different cocktails it would be an inconvenience. Like??? It was very condescending. Anyways... we ordered 5 tequila blanco, 5 reposado, and 1 Hennessy shot, and happily expressed that we wanted them CHILLED. She comes back, not even a minute later, and says she forgot whether or not we wanted it chilled. Eye roll LMAO At this point, we wanted to leave. Unfortunately for us, the food started to come out already. To say the food was mid is an understatement. Luckily, the other 4 members of our party at the separate table enjoyed their meal! As our meal was coming to an end, we asked Anna if she could help us clear our table. She looks at us and says, "gimme one second" very rudely. Like GOD FORBID we ask our waitress for help LOL The one star I'm giving this review is solely for the hostess Tai and whichever bartender served our shots. Otherwise, I would give 0 stars. P.S. the poorly hung paintings in the lobby fell on us while we tried to take a group photo

Decided to give Sky Bar a try for happy hour, and it was a great spot for a cocktail or two. It wasn't busy, so we were seated quickly at a table right along the edge with a beautiful view. The table was a little small for everything we ordered, but it worked. The drinks were good, and the service was fast and attentive. The oysters, however, were disappointing and not something I'd order again. Overall, I wouldn't come here for the food--there are much better options nearby. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a couple of cocktails with a great view before dinner, I'd definitely recommend it. Just be sure to bring sunscreen and a hat if you're sitting outside during the day.

Wow! What a spectacular panoramic views of Wikiki & the ocean! The open balcony welcomes the local trade winds and the upbeat music from the surround speakers gets that party started! The well stocked bar with YELPTASTIC Five Star Service by Bartenders Amanda & Kaei! Their dynamic personality and classic mixology skills create custom drinks that will take take you to that higher ground. I also sampled Birria Tacos with cheese. Super tasty and satisfying. Lots of small tables to talk story and enjoy the ambience of that great 808 State of mind. I also had the pleasure of walking and talking with General Manager Emmanuel "Manny" Cournede on his amazing staff and extensive menu with a fine dining menu and a late night $14.00 Special La Birria Tacos that includes a house cocktail or Domestic Beer. The sound system turns the late night into a night club atmosphere that brings back those Boogie-Oggie-Oggie days! A Huge Shout Out to our Yelp Community Manager StacyLei for putting this awesome venue together. Five Fabulous Stars for making Waikiki night life YELPTASTIC again!

I came here for a Yelp event and had such a great time! The views overlooking Waikiki are absolutely beautiful, and the atmosphere was so much fun. The food and drinks were great, and it was such a fun way to spend the evening. I can't wait to come back again and enjoy the view!

A must do if you're in Waikiki! Super nice rooftop bar with beautiful drinks and tables, couches, etc. There is a paid parking garage at Waikiki Shopping that takes you all the way up to Sky Waikiki on the 18th floor! You can see the views in the bathroom and on the elevators! There is even a cool sushi spot right next door. The drinks were the perfect amount of alcohol. Not too much, not too little. Staff was nice as well. Great place to take photos with good memories, perfect for date night or with friends.

Amanda was Amazing- food was great, drink recommendations were on point, and fast! Definitely worth eating here! Also, the views are amazing.

Food, great. Ambiance, chill. View, beautiful. Didn't come for a full dinner, but instead enjoy pupu plates with my girls. The Mac cheese and chicken wings were so tasty. They honestly had the best brussel sprouts I have ever had. The crisp * chefs kiss. But what really made this experience was our host TAI. Literally from the moment we walked into the restaurant/bar, until we left.. she took such good care of my group. She made my bachelorette dinner so so special and I'm forever grateful! She's the reason for the 5 star! Cannot forget about Alexis also - she was super accommodating and just as sweet!!

The perfect spot for a reasonably priced happy hour cocktail and fries! Great ube drink and mai tai, amazing ambiance and view! If you want a quality and aesthetic place to go, this is it!!

One of my favorite places to stop for every trip to the islands. There's parking & breathtaking views day or night. Drinks and food are very good. Service is what it is and just depends on the day. Make a res before you go.

**This is a review for the experience, it is not for the food. My friend wanted to go to SKY for her birthday, so I made a reservation for sunset. After reading the reviews, I opted for drinks and apps, and booked dinner elsewhere. Our table had a nice view, though to take a photo with the sunset, there is only a small corner where this can be done. Our service was good, and the drinks came out quickly. We shared the charcuterie board, which was fine, but just okay for the price. We came on a beautiful evening and it was lovely to sit on the rooftop with good friends and drinks, enjoying the view. I think the experience was great based on our planning and expectations.

VIEWS - and a great sunset is what's up at Sky Waikīkī! We came here for oysters and champagne and it was a beautiful day . Special shout out to Damian for always being so welcoming and inviting! Highly recommend asking for his section whenever you are here . Great vibes always !! Will be back !!

I have lived around town for a few months and I went to try Sky with my friend. The first time we went at night and got seated on the side. I loved the views of the skyline and we got our food. Everything was delicious I was surprised ! We decided to come back one week later in the day time and sat on the ocean side, so so amazing. They got a good happy hour! I highly recommend the tomato and burrata salad as well as the Mac and cheese, with some drinks of course! My favorite was the spicy margarita

Celebrated a friend's birthday here at Sky. It's a rooftop spot with stunning panoramic views. There were a lot of groups there, so it's a great place for birthdays, reunions, or any kind of gathering. The staff were attentive and made sure we were taken care of throughout the night. The food portions varied depending on the dish, but overall it was a fun, lively place to celebrate with friends while enjoying the beautiful Waikiki skyline.

Ask the Community - SKY Waikiki

What music genres is played there?

Does this turn into a club after restaurant hours?

Yes, with free entry if you had dinner there

Is there a cover charge and dress code (can shorts be worn) for the club?

There is a cover charge of about $20 dollars and the dress code is formal so no shorts.

Hi, Need reservation for Saturday night? Tks.

100% get a reservation! We were seated very quickly but it was very busy!

    Can kids dine?

I feel like when I was there there were some quiet, well behaved well dressed children there with their posh looking parents...I'd say best behavior is probably the standard because most people don't want to hear kids screaming or running around at…

    Is this the revolving restaurant?

Top of Waikiki was the revolving restaurant, located above Sky Waikiki. They have been closed since the pandemic.

Do we need to have reservation? Or is it first come first serve?

I highly recommend reservations but they have some seating for walk-in's

    Are Kids allowed?

I have been there twice with young children (4-6 year olds). It wasn't a problem at all but perhaps because they were happily sitting and not loud.

    Is there a Dress code?

I believe there isn't. My hubby wore his slippers shorts and button up short sleep

    Where is the parking?

You have to park in the garage about two blocks away. Look up parking garages on your maps.

Do we need to make reservations if we are only there to order drinks at the bar?

Yes the bar seating is really limited (like 6 seats) so I'd recommend a reservation.

    Is there Happy Hour?

    Yes!

Do we have to make a reservation?

No but it's wise too. If you don't, I would show up early and there may be a wait.

    Is there parking validation?

Yes but I believe you need to spend $50 or more.

How do you make a reservation? No one ever answers the phone :(

Go online to Open Table or use the app.

    Is there a dress code?

There is a sign that says no beach wear.

So you take walk ins? If we came at around 5:30 on a Friday night would we be able to get sat by 7 or so? Or is it like impossible to get sat w/o a reservation?? PS i am…

Good luck on a walk in. Making a reservation gets you sat in the seat with a view.

Do they have a better number to call? No one answers the number posted and when it goes to voicemail, it refers to another number...

Nope. They just don't answer. You have to go in.

Is there an age limit during early hours?

No age limit. I saw young children with their parents eating. All good.

Can you just order drinks? Or do you have to order food as well?

Now you can. Before you had to order food with the COVID-19 city mandated restrictions.

I was able to experiment with different flavors with the Old Bay seasoning, garlic mayo, lemon, and butter. The garlic mayo was surprisingly good with the lobster. You can also throw the Old Bay seasoning on the chips if you're in the mood. The price is pretty steep which was my mistake. I don't know what I was expecting when ordering lobster in Waikiki. The lady at the cash register was less than pleasant and helpful so it makes spending that money feel a little more painful. If you can afford it and are really craving a lobster roll, this should satiate you. I didn't feel like I needed more to eat after finishing my meal. Location: The store is located in the Royal Hawaiian shopping center. You have to take a staircase from the first floor to a lower floor to get to it. You may need to ask around for directions. The restaurant is super small. Maybe two or 3 small tables that can fit no more than 6-8 people.

We went out to have dinner and realized everywhere had an incredibly long wait time. We remembered passing Kirin and the menu looked good so I called to ask if they had a long wait. I was happy to hear there was no wait so we walked over and were immediately sat at a table. We eat Chinese food a lot and was happy to be back in a familiar environment. Our waitress was very kind and funny and the food was very tasty! The only issue we had is we felt there could have been a bit more chicken in the sweet and sour chicken. We ordered the 6-piece dim sum plate, hot tea, BBQ fried rice, and the sweet and sour chicken. Had we had known about the chicken we would have ordered a bit more food because we left a tad hungry still. We would still recommend this place!
