Rooftops are pretty rare in Palm Springs, so finding this one was a nice surprise. The view is definitely the highlight -- wide open, sunny, and exactly what you want from a rooftop bar in the desert. Service was good, and we grabbed seats in the lounge area with open bar seating. It was a hot, sunny day so we stopped in just for drinks. The mocktail selection was very limited -- mostly classic cocktails made without alcohol, so more juice than crafted mocktail. I was hoping for something a bit more creative. Prices were on the higher side, but that's expected for a rooftop pool bar at a nice hotel. They are dog friendly, which is always a huge plus and makes the space feel even more relaxed and welcoming. Didn't try the food, but the menu looked pretty standard. Overall, if you're coming for the views, it's great. Everything else was just okay, but still a solid stop if you're already in the area and want a rooftop moment with your pup. read more

High Bar never fails me. Beautiful views, you can great photos from the bar with a fantastic cocktail and Palm Springs as your back drop. You can even spy Marilyn down below. Beautiful decor, and landscape, with umbrellas, awnings, outdoor ceiling fans and comfy bar seating as well as high chairs and tables with a gorgeous view! All the servers are super attentive and offer complimentary ice water. Occasionally they have a DJ which adds to having a great soundtrack and new memories!! Love to be "high" on life...So, sitting at this rooftop bar located at the Rowan Hotel in Palm Springs on a sunny afternoon was fabulous! There is a pool a few feet away which looked very inviting...Instead I sipped on a refreshing Hugo Spritzer which was perfect in the desert heat. High above downtown Palm Springs is truly a bar with a VIEW! Take an escalator to the roof of the Kimpton Rowan and discover a pool bar to remember. The menu is cute and to be honest i would never come for food, but this is the place to stop and have a drink. Best for reconnecting with friends in an elevated (pun intended) pool bar experience. I appreciate how kind and helpful all of the staff have been every time i have visited. It's not too noisy and a great for a small group where you would rather enjoy a view and conversation that doesn't require you to yell. My friends came to visit from LA, and on a walk We stumbled upon this bar. You take an elevator to get to it. Right after the elevator you're greeted by security. One side is a pool!! The other side is a bar and seating area w/ a gorgeous view! There were kids at the pool. I thought that was kind of odd, kids at a pool/bar.. okay. The restroom was clean, but the sink set up was awkward. While washing your hands water got everywhere, unintentionally. The drinks were pricey, like $17+ we didn't get anything. Shortly after we arrived they had someone come to do live music. I told my friends if he was good, we would get a drink! Because I didn't want to get a drink and then he sucked and now I have to listen to finish my drink. Well he wasn't our cup of tea at all. This place is perfect for a nice cocktail and just relaxing at a rooftop bar/pool area. Part of the Rowan hotel, it's the top floor where it's part of the pool. The back area is where this bar sit. It overlooks the mountain which is a beautiful view. Also of the Marilyn statue. Plenty of table seating as well as the bar counter. We tend to just hand out at the bar area as it's always great chatting with everyone. Service is always great, staff and bartender are always fun and friendly. Drinks are great. They serve food as well but we normally just come for a drink and enjoy the view. It's always a nice stop for us when we're in town. read more

absolutely delicious drinks! every drink I had was phenomenal, service was amazing. the warmth of the desert is definitely enjoyable on the rooftop next to the pool and DJ (I was lucky enough to be there when the DJ was there!) I was able to bring my drink to my hotel room in a plastic cup of course, but what a luxury! The award winning prickly pear sour stole my heart, I ordered it multiple times during my stay and it was perfect every time. It is a winner and pretty, too. Located on the 7th floor, the outdoor bar overlooks the PS mountains and looks toward the pass, opposite the rooftop pool. The menu includes snacks and desserts, wine, and 12 dollar beers on tap, plus some inventive cocktails. Open from 10 am to 10:30 pm, there is a happy hour from 8:30 pm to 10:30. Good food. Good service. Crazy prices. Who gets their kid a $30 grilled cheese with a soda? They are super vigilant you don't bring in any outside food and it's not surprising given the prices. You are not permitted to even bring food from elsewhere in the hotel. They have security scouring the pool area to make sure you don't have any contraband: nuts, chips. High Bar is a rooftop bar at the Kimpton Rowan in downtown. This is the highest building in the city, so you get undisturbed views of the strip and the desert. Our crew recently stopped by for a round of cocktails and some appetizers. We grabbed their watermelon salad, the Market Meza Plate with baba gonnush and hummus platter. Staff were very friendly and helpful. asked for Tajin on the rim and it paired with the paradiso (highly recommend!). The shrimp tacos had super nicely grilled shrimp. Rowan Rita was solid too but liked the paradiso more. Seating is first come first serve. Make sure to take a look of the views because they're the best in town. They do have a separate elevator entrance on the side of the building.. My Husband & I started our Anniversary celebration at the High Bar with Family & Friends. The drinks were refreshing & the food was delicious (we had the tacos). Our server Sebastian was absolutely amazing. He made us feel very special along with delivering outstanding service. This place clearly used to be very nice... It's honestly sad how neglected it looked because it could easily have a line to get in with some small changes. The building it is located in and the elevator ride up feel very premium and exclusive, but as soon as we went to sit down we noticed how very dusty and neglected the space was. Dirty menus, stained seating and cobwebs covered up what could've been a beautiful spot. The gorgeous view had to be viewed through dusty streaked windows. It was August and above 100 degrees, but not all the ceiling fans were on and there were no misters.... I ordered a guava daiquiri and it was nice but nothing special especially for the price tag of $18. There was live music that was fine, not bad and not great. The reason I'm giving four stars instead of three is because the view is beautiful. I wish they had a good vegan option on the menu. That was a little disappointing. To be honest even though the drinks looked good cause I was in a big group with lots of people ordering them nothing on the menu particularly interested me. This is a great spot to come in a small or large group they have lots of patio furniture that's comfortable to sit on and chat and socialize with your friends. The bar is also connected to the pool and if you're a hotel guest you can go on the pool. Please add some vegan options to your menu that are a little more substantial. read more

You don't need a reservation and can walk right in. The bar is seated behind the pool area and pool seating. Our waitress was very sweet and checked on us often. This is a great afternoon spot so you can observe and take in the gorgeous views, but wouldn't be bad in the at sunset or evening either. There was a lite breeze and plenty of sun so we were happy, but likely on very windy days I wouldn't recommend. While staying at the hotel, my wife and I came here to relax after a day of hiking. The Saturday atmosphere was lively but not overly crowded, with upbeat music playing and friendly servers pouring endless pitchers of ice water which we greatly appreciated. We hung out in lounge chairs while drinking Tom Collins Cocktails (a summertime classic if you've never tried one) and took frequent dips in the pool to cool off. Located on top of the roof of a hotel, high bar can be a little difficult to find. You enter through a smaller door and take the elevator to the roof There's a large pool and cabana seating for hotel guests only. However, non guests can still come for food and drinks We had 8 people in our party and it felt like drinks took forever to come out. I also ordered tequila shots for the table and unfortunately the tequila was super warm. They also don't bring salt unless you request it, which was kind of weird.
