The Brock was a take on a margarita with a great foam topping Bright Young Thing was also excellent, especially if you like gin. Orange foam was delish. Skip Portrait in Pink. Tasted like perfume to me. But the waitress was great and got me a new drink when I didn't like this one that I originally ordered. Short ribs baos were *chef's kiss*. For sure, get them. We had a reservation on Saturday and were excited to try this place since we love Bar Cecil. One thing that felt a bit odd was that the restaurant and bar share the same host stand. I wish there had been a smoother transition between the two spaces. When we arrived, the restaurant seemed only half full, but the seating arrangement was disappointing. We were placed at a communal-style table with other guests seated very close to us, which made the experience uncomfortable. We ended up asking to move to another table, and thankfully that made a big difference. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly, professional, and attentive throughout the evening. The food menu was somewhat limited, but everything we ordered was delicious. The drinks were also very good and well made. One additional thing stood out during our visit. For about 20 minutes, there appeared to be a social media photographer or content creator moving around the space, talking with several employees and taking a lot of photos. It felt somewhat distracting and out of place. I was expecting a more polished, high-end bar experience, so it took away a bit from the atmosphere. Overall, we enjoyed the food, drinks, and service, but the seating experience and overall ambiance affected our visit. While I'm glad we tried it, it's probably not a place I would visit frequently. read more

I have yet to dine at Bar Cecil (still can't figure out the reservations timing to actually land one), but I somehow nabbed a same-day res at its newish born sibling Beaton's. It seems Beaton's is meant to be more drink/cocktail focused, but their food menu is actually decently varied. It's a take on the French brasserie, which I'd say is rather successful as someone who has actually lived in France. I wanted to take my partner out (who happens to be French) for a nice birthday treat, and Beaton's really covered everything to the T. Fun and moody ambiance, interesting and well mixed cocktails, with surprisingly great food options including a fantastic steak au poivre et frites. Albeit a smaller filet, it was perfectly cooked and just the right amount. The beef tartare arrived first and was also on point (fresh and well prepared/seasoned); a sign of more good to come. The pigs in a blanket are wrapped in puff pastry kind of seasoned like an everything bagel. Dipped in mustard, they're an elevated and tasty take on the typical lowbrow finger food. To complete the birthday meal, we ordered a chocolate mousse, which happens to be one of my partner's favorite desserts. It truly rivals chocolate mousse commonly prepared and found in France. Just the right density of texture and depth of flavor. If you enjoy hiphop, you'll also appreciate their music selections. Heard some Tyler the Creator, OutKast, Kendrick, Travis Scott. It may be different nightly, but if not, then that's what you can likely expect. Almost forgot to add in that the complimentary potato chips and green olives when you are seated are also such a nice touch. We had a cute night cap af Beaton's. The ambiance was dark, moody, and SEXY! Reservations are hard to snag, so make sure you grab them in advance. There is tons of parking out front. We came here a little earlier than expected, and the hostess was able to accommodate. I absolutely loved the decor here. The cocktails were bold, vibrant, and had some sneaky ingredients that I appreciate. For example, The Windsor cocktail had a side shot of underberg (which is a German bitter, most commonly used for digestion after heavy meals). Beatons a swanky bar attached the Bar Cecil with plush vibes, neat decor, and tasty drinks. We showed up at opening and were able to snag a spot without a reservation for a limited but plenty of time. The Singapore Sling was a delight as a favorite of Cecil. The original cocktails all came in unique cups and flavors. And the deviled eggs were a delight and the mustard seeds were a nice touch. Service was solid as well. read more

The place looks and feels amazing. Employees only vibes for sure. The drinks were spot on. The service was great. And the food hit all the right buttons. The salad was delicious, the pasta as well. Very authentic bolognese. That bread is really really good too. I can't think of anything to change except the reservation system at all three restaurants. It's way too hard to make a reservation and really easy to walk in. I don't think people realize this. We tried for three years to eat at Bar Cecil. And even when we showed up at 5pm as instructed from the staff at Del Rey. We didn't quite understand the concept of Beatons. It is its own thing. Which wasn't made clear at the host. I just think that walk ins need to be welcome and Bar Cecil needs to be a little more accessible. Love the food at this location as it's much brighter and diverse than most. Beaton's should be on everyone's list for Palm Springs. We were told by someone in a gallery to go but hard to get in without a reservation. 6 women walked in at 6:00 and were greeted by Alex. We would have been happy seated in the waiting area with green couches. Alex seated us at the Owner's table, after calling us Lovelies and telling us we would have a lovely table. The bar is beautifully decorated with chandeliers and framed photos in the bathrooms. We ordered fun cocktails, French 75s, spicy margarita and mocktails. We loved the music, and picked many of the songs to add to a dance playlist. We canceled reservations at a restaurant to stay and enjoyed deviled eggs, Girl & Dug farm salad, vegan bao buns, pigs in a blanket, oysters and colossal shrimp cocktail. Our server Alex was perfect for our group. He was very attentive, offered good suggestions from the menu, was willing to take photos for us. As the night went on and we danced and sang to the music, we had great conversations with other servers and the other host Jason as well. My girlfriend and I had a 5:30 reservation but got stuck in horrible traffic driving back from the Pasadena showcase house of design -we pulled in at 6:30 a full hour late. Great front desk staff who still accommodated us on the patio. Gorgeous interior! BTW we were walk ins on a Monday night with plans only to have a cocktail. We were given a table and the server was so delightful that we asked if there was an opening for dinner at Cecil... She got us a 8:15 table! There were no other openings that i saw. We ordered our meals at the same time we ordered our cocktails. We ordered steak Frites and spaghetti Bolognese. The spaghetti Bolognese arrived first and I waited about three or four minutes, hoping that my partners steak Fritz would arrive so we can enjoy the meal at the same time together. The steak fritz came way later and I told the waiter while we were waiting for the steak fritz what should I do with this spaghetti Bolognese as I would like to have dinner with my partner. Steak Frites $40 (way overpriced for the portion). Well, we finally got the steak fritz and while eating our meals we became more frustrated because everybody that went to the bar was able to get their drinks immediately as ours arrived after we ate. Our table was closest to the bar, so we witnessed the customers at the bar getting their drinks immediately Ambience and decor is amazing but playing rap music with the lyrics F this F that is not what we want and honestly that's not music that's noise. It was conveniently close to our hotel, making it the perfect choice for a date night--and I'm so glad we gave it a try. From the start, the host was inviting and attentive. We asked to possibly be seated at the bar in Beaton's. We waited briefly in the lounge for about 5-10 minutes, which gave us a chance to take in the atmosphere. Beaton's Red Room has a unique, elevated vibe that really stands out from other spots in Palm Springs--I absolutely loved it. Luis, the bartender, truly made the night memorable. Amazing ambience definitely have to book in advance. They do take walk-ins, but I would recommend a reservation very classy French inspired restaurant with a lot of different appetizers. They do have pigs in a blanket, Bao buns, oysters, spaghetti, and some other little things to knock on. Might not be for a full meal or right before you go to bar Cecil however it was enough food for me for dinner. The drinks are amazing and I would recommend all of them they even have amazing artwork throughout the walls and the staff is very good and tons of servers to help with anything you might need. The host Alex is incredibly kind and makes you feel welcomed. That is a major boss move when you walk into such a chic place bc it can be intimidating. We were sat and were immediately greeted by the wait staff. We ordered Mexican cokes and two tequilas, neat. The drinks were delivered 15 minutes later. We ordered food. A burger and steak frites. Both cooked to our desire and delicious. Nothing to rave about but a good solid meal. Beaton's is beautiful and there's a lot to take in and observe. There are several informative 5 star reviews of Beaton's on here and I'm not sure I can add much . We were totally spontaneous walk-ins. We were lucky and got 2 seats at the bar right away. We felt a little under dressed for such an elegantly decorated establishment, but the friendly bartender's response was, "it's Palm Springs, no worry, think of us as over-dressed." That was the kind of personality we found in all the staff. Our drink was simple, a gin martini with a spritz of vermouth and a lemon twist. But we pushed things a little by asking the bartender to split it for us, a great way to limit our alcohol intake. No problem--we ran into just the opposite attitude at a well-known establishment, two hours later in DT Palm Springs. Excellent martini and they provide an ample portion of castelvetrano olives and fresh potato chips as a snack. We ordered the baguette with French butter, sea salt and radishes. Excellent but the radishes were more like cute garnishes. I would have loved some nice big slices of radish to go with the baguette. Basically we are committed to coming back on our next time in Palm Springs, and to start working the challenge to get a reservation at Bar Cecil. read more

It started off as a good experience, but unfortunately took a turn for the worse due to how the situation was handled by management. A customer began harassing my friend and me, and the manager, Nick, did not take appropriate steps to deescalate the situation. When we tried to calmly and respectfully express our concerns, he became defensive and dismissive rather than addressing the issue professionally. His use of profanity was especially disappointing and unprofessional. What was most concerning was that no staff member stepped in to support us, and it appeared the individual harassing us may have been a regular, which could explain the lack of action taken. Overall, the handling of the situation left us feeling uncomfortable and unsupported. read more

Food was fine, service was abysmal. Waiter never brought two items, was generally MIA, and then he ended the night by spilling a tray of drinks on a woman in our party. Then, not only did they not comp anything off the bill for this VERY BAD spill, they then overcharged us. I had to send the bill back for having random drinks added to it. Came in just before 6pm on Friday of Coachella weekend. We were surprised they had a spot available. I knew nothing about this place and I was so pleasantly surprised. My husband surprised me by taking me there before we were meeting friends so unfortunately we didn't have much time. From the encounter of the person at the reception desk, who was extremely friendly through all of the people that work there everyone was very professional, friendly and attentive. So A+ for staff. Now on to the Ambience. If you have had the pleasure of going to Paris this place will take you right back there. So much detail. I have included a few photos but it doesn't do it justice. We had two appetizers due to our time restraint. If not we would have spent much more time. Looking around the room everyone was definitely enjoying themselves. The bartenders were very stylish. When you first sit down you are served a classic tidbit tray think classic mid century with delicious homemade thin crispy potato chips and huge olives. We ordered classic vodka martini with a lemon twist and my husband had the bar Cecil old-fashioned. We had the deviled eggs and beef truffle tartar that also came with those incredible potato chips. Both were delicious. I saw other people ordering food and drinks that also looked fun. Overall, we're definitely going back and spending much more time. Such a disappointment experience. Went for our anniversary and we requested a booth. Arrived to our reservation and I was told they had no booths available and they sat us on the patio at the tiniest side table in the back corner next to some bright lights. It was cold and I have anemia so I asked if we can please sit inside at least anywhere. The host said if I wanted to wait 30+ min I can. No personality just someone who hates his job We were waiting a while just to place our drink order people who seated next to us and came after us had their drinks and an appetizer before our drinks even arrived The drinks Martini's arrived in daiquiri glasses and the drinks weren't even cold. Went to beatons end of march to celebrate my birthday with my family, i had really high expectations considering ive heard amazing things about bar cecil and growing up in the valley its exciting to see new restaurants like this pop up but anyways was left disappointed. i myself work in the fine dining restaurant/bar scene so there was a level of service i was expecting. like i said it was my birthday, but received no birthday wishes at the door or from our server. we brought a bottle of champagne to enjoy and no one offered to open the bottle or put it on ice. i asked basic questions about beverages and the type of glassware the drinks came in and our server couldn't answer if a certain drink was served in a martini glass or collin's. once we ordered drinks they took maybe 20 minutes to come out and we received the food before our drinks even though there were maybe only 5 other parties in the bar with 3 bartenders. unfortunately also when we wanted to order more drinks it took a few minutes after our drinks were empty before we could catch our servers attention. serviced lacked but the ambience was nice and i got cute pictures but i was hoping for some celebration from the restaurant considering it was my birthday but we didn't receive anything (i put it on the reservation notes) and the cherry on top was that a friend went recently after my experience for her birthday and she received a note form the waitstaff, round of drinks, and a sundae. since this is apart of a michelin guided restaurant i expected more from a fine dining establishment which is a bummer i don't know if i would come here again for a special occasion read more

Easily got in tonight with a 7:45 reservation even though they seemed pretty full when we arrived. Really appreciate that they save half the tables for walk-ins, especially since Bar Cecil is pretty hard to get into without a lot of pre planning. We were greeted immediately and seated within a couple of minutes. The service was exceptionally prompt and welcoming. There is great teamwork among the servers and staff and they all seem to know the menus in and out. Since I'm allergic to watercress I asked if there was any in the salad because I saw there might be. Our server went to the kitchen and confirmed there might be some in the salad. He offered to substitute anything that would work. The cocktails were fantastic and the timing is paced in a great way. Very relaxing evening. Bolognese was great as well as the beef tartare.
