Extremely rude staff. The bar was not busy we sat down at the bar and waited and waited and waited while the guy just chit chatted. A girl with a nose ring dark hair clocked in and was even more rude. Was very annoyed she had to wait on us. Slammed things down and around. It was clear she was having a bad day and didn't want to be there. However another girl who was cleaning behind the bar was very nice she answered all our questions and was super friendly. I had family visiting and this was just not the vibe I was hoping for. When family visits again we will go back but not to this bar we will definitely try the restaurant instead. It was nice views though and maybe just an off day for them so hopefully they don't treat everyone like that. The wine was also good. read more

Despite my buddy telling me to the contrary, I had low expectations for a tourist cafe in the clouds (well, at 8,500 feet). Well gosh, the spicy chicken sandwich was worth the $22 paid including great curly French fries. Our orders were delivered quickly and expertly. There's a fun bartender who is friendly and helpful. The scenery, naturally, is gorgeous. You can order off the menu and sit at the bar or at nearby tables. Plenty of water available despite the nearby super-water-saving bathrooms. read more

Visited here for the first time. The views were spectacular but this bar totally disappointed. It was bad enough that ONE cocktail was $25 dollars, but to add insult to injury, the dark long haired female bartender literally would have had her face break into a thousand pieces if you were to ask her to smile. The Aerial Tram ride is great. A 2.5 something miles up the mountain. You can hike starting at the bottom or the top. Depending on the time of year you'll see and will be able to play in snow. There is so much parking available at the bottom, but be sure you pay for your parking ahead of time. The Lookout Lounge is a bar at the top along with a restaurant and another two smaller places for food. The restaurant is only open for lunch so we got stuck with the smaller food place and it wasn't that good at all. The bartender was nice and the drinks were good though, but left there starving. read more

At the top of the Aerial Tramway, I was actually pretty impressed with this little lounge. They have a full bar as well as beers made specially for the lounge and some food options. And staff here are absolutely wonderful, kind, and knowledgeable. But the real catch of this lounge is the view. You can sit inside and still see out a bit, but they do let you bring your drinks outside, and there's a full 360 walk around you can enjoy. It was the perfect end to a day of hiking the top of the mountain. Highly recommend stopping here before your tram back down the mountain. read more

Great spot to enjoy spectacular views while having a drink. Lookout Lounge is located inside the mountain station of Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. As soon as you depart the tram, Lookout Lounge is right around the corner on the same level as the restaurants. They have a nice selection of cocktails, beer, wine, and appetizers. If you are not able to get a seat at the bar, there are nearby tables you can sit at with your drink. Hours are 11:00 am - 8:30 pm daily. It was nice to stop here for a beverage after doing a hike in nearby San Jacinto State Park. read more

We went up the hill by the historic Palm Springs Tram and enjoyed a nice afternoon. We went to the "Lookout Lounge" to have an adult libatio. Tyler was our bartender and we was so friendly, polite and professional. After a short hike, we returned to the "Lookout Lounge" and ordered a Mediterranean Brushetta. Honestly better than i expected. The food itself was a lot softer and fresher than I thought for being at the top of a tram in the mountains. Solid cocktails and good open bar seating area where you can see views in multiple directions. My friend and i were both craving some snack foods which they didn't have a lot of, but the caprese flatbread did the trick and the dough was a lot softer than it looked. I was pleasantly surprised and not mad about spending $16 on it. For dessert, we got the Apple Pie Tart which was tasty in terms of crust and caramel but the apple slices were pretty dry/dehydrated. So overall a bit expensive (to be expected), and simple to grab a seat and enjoy the view instead of sitting at one of the more formal restaurants. read more

Second time here, this time brought some family from the UK. Nice ride on the gondola up as it wasn't to bumpy. First thing first, stop off at the bar for a cold pint of beer. This time, service was way better than the first. The bartender was actually there, 2 of them. Last time, we had to flag someone down just to get something to drink. We ordered 2 pint of beer and took it out to the lookout point. The view was amazing, weather was great. Just sitting there and enjoying the view of the desert was spectacular. It's amazing what you can see from a top. There's also a restaurant inside that has Ana amazing view itself. That's more of an intimate sit down place. As also, a cafeteria style restaurant that you order and take your food to any seating that's available inside or outside. Haven't had any of the food so no comment on that. As for the overall rating of the place. Highly recommend venturing up the gondola to the top for an amazing day of scenery, hiking, lounging or whatever floats your boat. At the Lookout Lounge, you will definitely get a breathtaking view of the mountains. You are literally above the clouds! There is really no service off the bar seats. We were sitting in our seats for over 15 minutes without any service. We ended up just walking up to the bar order. The bartender, I think Vanessa was her name or the blonde bartender, was not very nice. When my boyfriend was trying to order, she didn't even give him attention. He literally had to keep talking out loud just to put in an order. When we ordered a hot chocolate, she said we could order that else where, but she did have some. We ended up ordering the alcoholic hot chocolate because she wouldn't give it otherwise. We also ordered the bread pudding which was actually good. The alcoholic hot chocolate was gross, because it was watery and not really hot. I ended up not finishing it. read more

From this lookout point you get an amazing view of the mountains. There really isn't anything better than sipping on your favorite drink while taking in a one of a kind view, feeling like you're on top of the world. With the wind blowing, nothing feels better, especially coming from the desert where the temperature was already 95 degrees. During our visit, there were two bartenders working in tandem, they were quick and sociable. It did get busy though. The best time to stop here is before the afternoon visitors come in to catch the sunset. They offer several local tap beers as well as an American Mule. Nothing is a bad choice as long as you do so in moderation. If you don't like the gondola ride, this will be the best place to refuel with some liquid courage. I'll be back again for sure. read more

Well, there also just happens to be a full bar up there too: the Lookout Lounge. After our short hike around Mount San Jacinto State Park, my partner in crime & I came by for a drink while we mulled over what to do back on the ground after the tram ride down. The bartender was attentive, very friendly, & sure knows how to whip up a mean cocktail. There was also a reasonably decent selection of local craft beer on tap. & while a bar up here amidst mountaintop wilderness is certainly a welcome sight, the drinks were ringing up at ballpark prices, if you know what I mean. & for a place called the Lookout Lounge, the views from the lounge area weren't that spectacular compared to other spots in the Mountain Station. My wife and I are season pass holders for the tram, and as much as we love hiking (really -- we got snow shoes last year so we could come up here in the winter), this place is always the highlight of our excursion. While there is nothing quite like unwinding with a gin & tonic after a 4-mile stroll through the woods, the head guy here, Frank, makes the experience even better. We came up here for the Christmas tree lighting a couple of days ago, and the moment they flipped the switch on the tree, we ran inside to the Lookout Lounge to make sure we secured our spots at the bar. Frank made the wife a special Irish Coffee (which she loved), while I got my standby gin/tonic. We also shared an avocado/bacon burger, which was delicious, and came with a new style of fries they have come up with, which can best be described as "curly wedges." We were both glad they didn't put more of those potatoes on the plate, because we would have devoured them if they had. In a place that is filled with tourists, it is really, really nice to have the barkeep recognize you, and remember your beverage of choice. I am made to feel like a VIP here. read more

Meh. It was just ok. I was really disappointed because there was so much hype about it. So we go there and I ordered lamb because, it's LAMB right? Hard to not like lamb. Yeah, not so good. I have no idea why, but they breaded it and put it out way overcooked. So disappointing. The drinks were not wonderful. I got the whiskey apple pie and it was tasty, but tooooo sweet. After getting to the parking lot, the shuttle, then the awesome tram ride, I went on a short hike. The altitude and my age made the day exhausting but exhilarating. I needed a stiff drink and a thick meal. The bartender, an absolutely delightful woman of good humor, mixed me an excellent custom Martini for 7 bucks. With the view and environment, that was a bargain reward. I sat at the bar and met some fun visitors. To my right was a pleasant, non-obnoxious gaggle of Twinks, and to the left were two women I joked with. They were proudly wearing Dodgers caps, which I find repulsive. But this is an all-inclusive establishment and I respect that. People who travel to beautiful outdoor places on a mountain and head to the elegant bar -- because it is there -- are my kinda people. We really enjoy this place and come here a lot as we are yearly pass holders. The drinks are good, my sister loves the Mountain Gust, I go for the American Mule or one of the local craft beers on tap. There are some new people working there and the vibe has improved greatly. (We were there in June and Frank and Robbie provided good service). The food is the same as you get at Peaks, the sit down restaurant. We usually get the hummus and tapenade, which is delicious.
