Mira Bar serves up "Polanco " Restaurant bites all day ! Located in the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Golf Resort Palm Springs. We opted for some fresh lighter bites . Surprisingly vegan friendly & easily modified menu items . I ordered the watermelon salad omit the mozzarella. Delicious ! I'm an iced tea junkie and the tea here was refreshing . We stayed at the DoubleTree and found this bar down the hall from the front desk. You can't miss it; it's literally in the middle of everything. THE FOOD ELABORATION. - Chop Chop | I thought this salad was really great. It has all the components of a Cobb salad; grilled chicken breast, applewood smoked bacon, tomatoes, egg, cucumber, avocado, blue cheese crumbles, and house made ranch. No complaints here and I actually ordered this a few times during our stay. - Crispy & Spicy Pork Ribs | Great flavors and not as spicy as one might expect. The pork ribs were a little firm, but I still enjoyed this appetizer. I liked the carrot embellishments and overall presentation of this dish. THE DRINKS DRUNK. - Ginger Apple Fizz | Tanqueray gin, reál crisp apple, lime, and ginger beer. This was refreshing and sweet with fizzy playfulness. It hit the spot on a hot summer day. - Tonic Highball | Beefeater London Dry Gin & Tonic with tonic and lime. Less sweeter than the Ginger Apple Fizz, but still refreshing. THE VIBE EVOCATION. It's a cool little wrap around bar with views of the pool and golf course. Other seating is available surrounding the bar area which is better for parties who want to be in a more intimate setting. I hung out at the wrap around bar because I liked the vibe there. THE PARKING AFFAIR. Free surface lot parking available. During the summer, probably best to put shades on your windshield as this area can get into the 100's! THE RESERVATION DETERMINATION. No reservations needed; just pick a seat and plop down. I am retuning after a mediocre visit a while back and I tried again their breakfast restaurant and boy that place has improved. Now I returned to try Mirabar for late lunch and wow, mushroom ravioli and Ahi poke were spot on! Service friendly and great ambiance! Definitely a must try! read more

Just checked in after a long day of traveling. Didn't want to go out for dinner so we thought we would go to the lobby restaurant/bar. Bad choice for us. First the stools are excruciatingly uncomfortable to sit on. There is literally no way to get a comfortable position. Might want to think about that if you are planning on sitting for a while. I ordered the chicken wings and garlic fries. I'm not kidding I bit into my third wing and it was bloody inside. I cut open the next one and it was bloody as well. Nearly three up in my mouth a little on that one. Also my garlic fries and no taste of garlic. My wife ordered the grilled chicken sandwich that was ironically over cooked and dry. My daughters chicken fingers were likewise dry and over cooked. My other daughters flat bread did not seem to be cooked all the way but was at least edible. So two meal over cooked, two meals under cooked. Not good at all. I would stay away from this place at all costs and just order something delivered to the patio or your room from somewhere outside the hotel. I have been staying almost exclusively at Hilton's for business and personal travel over 30 years and I can say that this is extremely disappointing. read more

Not even 1 star for the horrible experience we had. We visit a different happy hour every month and after looking at their website we chose Mira Bar. Happy Hour M-F 3-7 pm. Nice menu, reasonably priced. We arrived at 4:30 to an empty bar. Signs said Bar Opens at 5. We sat in the lounge area next to the bar. 5 O'clock came and went. The bartender arrived at 5:15 and at 5:25 started taking order from bar patrons. She never came to us, disappeared for 10 minutes. We finally went and asked for a menu and got a snarky reply. We waited and waited. Finally went and ordered at the bar. 35 minutes for a bowl of chips with cheese poured over it and a Flatbread pizza. Can't give the food any stars either. While we watched the bartender go to all the other tables we were never approached to ask if food was good, if we wanted anything else or another drink. We waited for a check which never came so we left money on the table and walked out. Terrible all around! read more

Stopped off to have one drink before heading home. It was about 7:00PM and the bar was about 75% occupied with the lounge area empty. The female bar tender did acknowledge us right away, took our order and brought drinks. Unfortunately her shift either ended or she took a break. From there on out service was just about nil. Bartender Frank C seemed to be "here but no where"......after three tries to get his attention he came by so we could order an appetizer. Half way through the appetizer we had finished our drinks, so as customary in most bars we put our empty glasses towards service side of the bar. Every bar I have been in this indicates another. Nope not him.... by the time we finished, he finally came by, but by then appetizer gone we decided to go. The final straw was when I got my bill, I had been charged for a premium drink and not the happy hour. Glad I checked. Typically I probably would not bother with this review. However, we are locals and in the past liked to stop in. Last night we were given the attitude that they could care less about repeat business because they an rely on the business men and women who stay at the hotel. That is a shame. read more

I wanted a real dinner when staying at the DoubleTree, and it was a quiet off-season night, I guess, so only the bar was open and serving food. I had a nice cold draft dark beer, forgot the name but I think it was local. My salad with added grilled chicken was crisp and good. Decent friendly service. read more

They did a really nice job of remodeling this place. The bar has a contemporary look to it, and the surrounding seating area is comfy -- though it can be a little cumbersome to sit in one of the comfy chairs and lean forward to eat off of the coffee table ahead of you. Next time, I'll probably just stay at the bar. They offer a pretty good happy hour, with reduced pricing on beverages. My house gin & tonics were $5/each, strong enough to do the trick, and normal-sized. Although not on happy hour, there is a decent selection of "lite bites" at fairly reasonable pricing. We had bacon-wrapped prawns, which were tasty, and the fries, which gave us something to nosh on while chatting. The bar staff is friendly. I'll be back, especially given its close proximity to my home. read more

Ive been to this double tree twice in the past 3 weeks . Came out on a last minute quick get away. The hotel itself is nice! As for the bar. .. ehhhh!!! Im sure there are better local places to choose from. Food is good.. Service. Blehhh!! Im here mid day, Id assume the bartender would be more friendly being that nobody is here and he'd want to work his tips.. NOT the case. Hes bland.. I was ready to order I put my menu down and he walked up to me and just looked at me.. said nothing! Like, can I take your order? Can I getcha something? So I just stared at him until he finally asked. Omg! Smh! Lol. Im thinking what kind of service is this?! .. Dry and bland personality is not a good attribute to have as a bartender.. We own a house in the resort, so Mira Bar / Polanco is a natural choice as it is so near and we can reach it with our golf cart. We gave them several chances, each time I ordered something else to try. Each time food was awful to meh. Mostly I left it on the plate. The cocktails are meh, and I think you can find more variety in a small village pub. (They never heard of prosecco, their wine list is what list? And this is a Double Tree hotel, not a mommas poppas restaurant which probably would have so much better food and wine.) People are nice, but too busy for you and have no knowledge to prepare cocktails. No real bartender. At the end we gave up, rather drive somewhere and enjoy our meal/drinks than beating a dead horse. read more
