It's a nice space, we came here for some afternoon drinks. Nice patio, has a real vaporwave vibe to it with all the pastel colors. They have an interesting wine selection, with wines made locally and also some exotic varieties you don't usually see on the menu, like some greek orange wines. The wines that we ordered came out a bit warm for whites, should've been cooler, to get that maximum crispness. It was ok, but I mentioned it to the bartender when closing our bill, she apologized and took 10% off the bill because she said that we weren't satisfied. I didn't really need her to do that but that was a kind gesture. I'd come back to try their menu, they have oysters and sandwiches, it looked interesting. Came here for a friend's birthday brunch after seeing the pretty decor pictures on yelp but was a bit disappointed. The one thing i definitely want to highlight is that there was a staff member who was very accommodating with helping us take group pictures. However, the food took a very long time to come out and despite us ordering right after another, one of our friends had to wait long past our foods came out and we noticed the other table getting their food before one of our friends as well. Food was ok but didn't seem that outstandingly special. The restaurant was pretty empty so we were hoping for quicker service. Also was a bit interesting that they did not have takeout boxes. High Tide has chill vibes and cute atmosphere. Very instagram-able. Found this place on Yelp and stopped by for afternoon drinks on the patio. The location is not great - it was near Skid Row (which we didn't know about, but had to find out the hard way when walking to the bar....felt very unsafe on the streets). We ordered beer and frose. Frose was a bit pricey ($12). It was a refreshing drink, but could not really taste the alcohol. Resembled more of a fruit slushie. Overall, High Tide is a cute place to hangout. This place is a bit different than my expectation. First from the images that were shown here, the colors were a lot more vibrant and "instagramable". This place's actual colors are a lot more faded. The furniture are a bit outdated and worn out, but still kind of cute. The location is near art District, there are a few meters near it but if they were full, I definitely would note park a few streets down as it is VERY close to skid row. Might not be too safe for a few girls to walk down to get Happy hour. We ordered the happy hour combo which was a great deal, $45 bucks for a dozen of absolutely perfect Kushi oysters with a jug of mimosa. Very happy with the price for this and we would come back hopefully to eat the same oysters. The area is literally one street south of the unfortunate side of skid row, but when you get inside it's a totally unique atmosphere; a gorgeous setting of pinks, mints, and velvets. It's a very relaxed setting with self seating and ordering at the counter with the bartender. All the frozé are delicious and different in their own way. I liked the original pink rosé, but the charcoal frozé has a hint of refreshing ginger. We ordered food as well, but it took awhile to get the food out. I understand it has an outdoor patio/ lounge, but seriously, I saw a swarm of flies hanging out inside of the cafe. Visited this spot during the week (around 6ish) and there weren't many people around. Granted, it was a cold and almost rainy day in LA, but still I was surprised. The vibe is very mellow, very cute. I liked the set up and when it gets warmer I will definitely be back to have a drink in the outside seating area. It looked really inviting. The drink selection was solid (I need to try the frozen rose when the weather gets warm again) but I don't remember there being a great happy hour deal (kind of a bummer, no?) Surprised I haven't written a review sooner about this spot! A definite gem on the edge of DTLA. Expect tropical vibes, with flamingos, palm trees and FROSE aplenty. The outdoor patio is 'Gram ready with beautiful decor and seating. As far as the menu, they got all of the essentials, organic wine, craft beer, good selection of ciders, and FROSE. You come here for that. They also offer small dishes, think cheese, sandwiches, salads. It's a fun, vibrant spot with management who cares about quality and attention to detail. They have plenty of cool events so check their calendar on the website and do glassblowing throughout the week. I have been coming here and will continue coming here because it's that awesome! Pastel pink walls, bird cage photo prop for the 'gram, plus the string lights still can not keep up with the competition in the arts district. I was pretty intoxicated when I stumbled in, but from what I remember, there's only wine and beer to choose from. Even through my intoxication I quickly snapped out of it because my reaction to the music wouldn't allow me to enjoy my buzz. Parking: There's some street parking, but only a small part of it is within the "safe zone" of Skid Row. Best to just Uber. Atmosphere: it's what it looks like in the pictures. The place is intentionally made for Instagram. Drinks: it's beer and wine Food: The menu isn't anything too fancy; it's just appetizers. Overall: High Tide is in its own little oasis. Decor is extremely cute and well put together, they picked the right designer. If you want a picture, you can definitely get some good ones here. But, the location isn't the best, it's right next to skid row. Drinks: The flight is 3 extremely small wine glasses which includes their frozen flavors. I liked the black magic and frosé the best, the desert ice was a bit too strong for me. We also got the Rosé Spritz and the Pink Flamingo. Rosé Spritz: too watered down, couldn't really taste much. High Tide DTLA is a great family friendly and dog friendly place to come to while enjoying great foods catered for all diets and countless drink selections with beverages from non-alcoholic to alcoholic selections. If you have a friend that's visiting LA, and you're looking to take them to the newest Instagram-Friendly-Super-Millenial spot, this place is it. Just picture, a glass of frozen booze with a pretty flower in it, lifted on front of a pink wall, with hints of green plants, and flamingos in the background. (Don't forget to turn your macro and portrait modes on!) If you're not really into that, don't worry, the ambiance is still nice, and there'll be plenty of people watching opportunities for you to do here too. Now on to the frosé. There aren't a lot of places that does booze like that, so to me it's worth the trip. They usually have three different flavors on rotation, and you're able to get the full flight of flavors if you want to just try them all out. This place feels strange. That's the one adjective that comes to mind each time I think of High Tide. I'm not sure if I went on an unusually strange and quiet Saturday evening or if this place is just really strange, but my experience here was one that keeps me from coming back here. I held my friends bday get together here at 7pm on a Saturday evening. It was completely empty (which is fine, but just made the experience so much stranger. Like, how come there's no one else here). The decor, furniture and ambience of this place felt very "cheap." Moreover, their menu items are extremely over priced and of poor quality. For an example, we ordered a $15 Lobster Mac and Cheese that literally looked like they used craft mac and cheese, topped with one frozen piece of "lobster." The mac and cheese was also quite watery, which made it more of a mac and cheese soup. Don't get me wrong, I love me a good craft mac and cheese, but NOT for $14..! Ugh, I'm getting angry just thinking about this. The only decent food item on this menu was their shrimp ceviche. Overall, our entire experience here was one where we would not come back or recommend for others to come here. Don't let the exterior fool you. Once you walk in you can't tell you're anywhere near DTLA. Their frozen drinks are bomb and dangerous. Can't really taste the wine. . This millennial pink paradise is a breath of fresh air to DTLAs current bar lineup. I love the fact that there are USB charging ports everywhere and some atmospheric entertainment with the glass blowing is an additional bonus. Amazing draft beer selection and the roast beef sandwhich is some of the best meat I've ever put in my mouth... and this mouth has seen some things... I've come here twice and both times it was pretty empty. The first time unfortunately the frozen drink machines were not working so we ordered wine instead. The second time, I got to try the frozen drinks and they were pretty good. Not surprisingly, they drinks were very sweet, but that's pretty standard for frosé. Super cute spot!! The frozés were amazing. Just sweet enough without being overwhelming. And the food arrived quickly. I'll start with the avocado toast - it's pretty big. I found the hard crust a bit challenging and ultimately decided to forego it. Now, on to the oysters. Never tried them. Never had a desire to. But they presented really nicely and I was challenged to try something new... They weren't terrible but texture can make it or break it for me and I learned that oysters are not for me. At least I can say I tried. What I really loved, though, was the lobster mac & cheese. It was delicious and contained generous portions of both bacon and lobster. So savory!
