I just had a 3 bedroom move a week ago on a Friday. I used the Yelp quoting system to get a price quote from another big name mover. I got about 5 replies and one of the very first replies was from Highlight Movers. Naturally I checked all the reviews and looked at the pictures. What impressed me was how hassle free they were with providing a quote. I've done a lot of moves over the decades and that's what I was expecting. I prefer smaller companies that deliver a personal touch and have accountability in the quality of service they deliver rather than a moving company that just contracts a bunch of random dudes. Nelly was very responsive. She also provided a very straight forward pricing model based on number of hours and number of movers. And a $20 gas fee. Straight forward just like how I like it. I scheduled the move two weeks out and they were able to accommodate without concerns. Nelly's team showed up exactly on time. Andrew, the lead mover, and his team were so professional in making sure all my stuff got to the destination safely. The move was from LA to Cerritos and the time estimations were on point. I always dread hiring movers. There are so many out there and you never know what you are going to get. Total crapshoot. I can say Andrew and his two comrades were much better than the team of 5 bozos that moved my stuff out of my last apartment and carelessly shoved my stuff into storage. I was given a 9-10 arrival window. I asked them to slow up closer to 10. They called with an ETA just before 10 and rolled up around 1015, not a big deal since I wanted to beat them there. I needed Highlight Moving to get my stuff out of 3 UBoxes at the downtown Uhaul warehouse and into to my new 3rd floor place in Westchester. The whole thing took 4.5 hours, plus a half hour drive doubled, so paid for 5.5 hours and got a small cash discount. There are cheaper movers out there, but also much more expensive ones, I feel like they are a happy medium. They were efficient and generally careful with my belongings. They also went above and beyond helping me assemble my sofas and bed frame even though they didn't disassemble them. Would definitely recommend Highlight Moving for making annoying moves around LA less painful. read more

They were able to flex to my availability to call me to scope my move, and everything went according to expectations. Movers showed up and are as efficient as one can be on a 90 degree day. They are clear with explaining what steps they will take as they progress through the move. We made 2 stops for pickup and they were still able to to finish the day well before dinner. Hired these movers and they did an over all great job with the move. They worked really hard, and got everything moved over as best as possible. Due to the size constraints of the items we have which were awkward bulky items, we could not get all 100% of the stuff moved over but that's not the movers fault. Andrew the crew lead did a great job keeping the team on task, as well as ensuring things were packed. I was glad to see they took their proper breaks they needed too. We only had one issue with the move. I brought it to their attention. Andrew and highlight moving company immediately addressed it, and took care of it. Their prices were reasonable. The movers are responsible and trustworthy. If you need movers I highly recommend them. EDITED - I am giving this rating for Andrew the handyman who mounted my TV! I scheduled the move about a month ago and had requested a handyman as well to take care of tv mounting. they explained it would be extra cost because the movers were not licensed for that. I agreed. the move was only from one unit in a building to another unit on the same floor, 2 doors down. I also had things to go to a storage room on the same floor (so no truck and no stairs). the movers showed up within the time frame, but there was a miscommunication about the tv mounting and the handyman ended up coming a few hours after the movers left. the crew was not considerate of things like if you're take something from the bathroom, put it in the new bathroom. they finished the move so fast I was not able to spot check those things, and then the main guy told me that he had to watch me enter a review on yelp! he stood over me, selected 5 stars, and then had me post a pic of him. it was the most awkward interaction and when I told him I wanted to write the review, he would not leave until I posted one. he even offered me a script from chat so I don't have to think of what to say I called after he left and talked to Nelly the project manager. She apologized. Andrew the handyman came later to mount the TV. he also apologized for the earlier experience. I think Max was the name of the other guy. they were lovely! overall: nothing was broken and they were fast as heck, but the movers did not give attention to details. but when the guy made me write a 5 star review while he stood over me, it was completely inappropriate and made me very uncomfortable. The owners should be very happy to have Andrew (and Max) onboard to help make things better! read more
