Shoutout to our local community heroes!!! I don't know how many times that I have passed by this plaza and not ventured in. But today was the day to be honored by the wonderfulness of Hillary's!!! Diana was our ambassador today. She was radiant, personable, attentive, and definitely a major influence on the charm of this venue. Sure, we bonded a little extra because we are both from Missouri, but it made it especially memorable during this winter storm outside! Cold outside today, but nice and cozy inside here due to the yummy food cooked with Love and the happy hearts of the patrons. People were meeting friends, having birthday dinners, date nights, and even chillin' at the bar. The food is masterfully made. It's a nice menu. Order the pizza first even before the appetizers and drinks... the Chicago deep dish pies take @1 hour!!! Well worth it, trust me! Now after Diana wisely helped guide me through the ordering sequence, she helped me craft my pie. I wanted my fave: double pepperoni, extra cheese. Well, she assured me that there was plenty of cheese already and that she could even offer me to have a layer of pepperoni on top to get crispy. YES, I happily cheered with my hands in clasped in prayer... because I knew God meets not only my needs, but meets my desires. I LOVE a crispy pepperoni!!!!! Ok, let's talk about the beverage selection... can sodas ( my favorite form), amazing wines, and craft beers with many on tap!!! The beer section is top notch!!! I never imagined a small venue like this having an amazing beer selection! Diana let me pick a few to taste. I love an amber, red, or dark, bready, malty, thick mouthfeel, Pilsner, lager, or stout. After those I tasted, I ended up with the Shiner Bock. Great pairing with my pretzel appetizer with house made Boursin cheese!!!!! What!!! Yes, that's right! Don't sleep on this cheese!!! You can spread this unctuous concoction on about anything and kick it up to sky level with its herbs and creamy garlicky goodness! My hubby ordered his favorite hot Italian beef sandwich!!! It was gorgeous and literally so savory, perfectly tender, and mixed with spicy pickle peppers & veggies! I think that sandwich was gone before I finished my first piece of pie!! He kept giving me samples ! "You gotta try this, and this, and this!". He smiled and said this reminds him of his trips to Chicago. High handed compliment from him. And with his last bite of sandwich, he said that he is coming here from now on and ordering this every time!!! Now to my beautiful masterpiece!!! The height of this thin crispy golden crust was like a Royal crown filled with jewels!!! Crispy pepperoni atop of tangy chunky tomato sauce atop of the layers of cheese and more pepperoni!!! I was so excited that I almost didn't even want to stop to take pictures for all of us... but behold!!! I'm so happy!!! Al the textures, decadence, and detail was perfect!!! Gooey cheese pull test exceeded!!! Savory pepperoni was on point! And yes, I shared some with hubby and saved some to take home to do the leftover cold pizza test.... Order a deep dish large enough to have leftovers!!! It was crazy stupid good!!!! Hubby said this was proper food and I whole heartedly support this message!!! I want to try the beers that we out today and whatever the new ones are next time. We don't need to travel but 10 minutes from our home to get spoiled like this!! God bless !!! We stopped here while in st Augustine for a few things. It was a cute little place and my boyfriend and I got two different pizzas, some cheesy bread and I got a ceaser salad. The service was great our waitress was very friendly and helpful in giving my boyfriend a suggestion on what to get, he always asks the waiter/waitress their opinion since they know best since they work there and he wasn't disappointed. We started with the cheesy bread and it was pretty good. My Cesar salad was absolutely AMAZING. Loved it. He got the Chicago deep dish pizza and he had never had one before. He LOVED it! It was a lot of food. I got the hot honey pizza and it was a flatbread pizza. I wasn't the biggest fan of the pizza and I'm not entirely sure why. The one thing I can pinpoint is that there was a lot of honey on it and sometimes it was way too overpowering. It was also a cute little place. I will say if you are coming here for pizza you definitely want to make sure you have time. The deep dish pizza takes about 45 minutes (it says this on the menu so it isn't a surprise which I love.) and the flatbread pizza was I believe 30-35 minutes. A number of people told me to visit Hillary's for some great pizza, and I have no doubt that they truly enjoy the unique flavor and texture of Chicago Pizza - it's not exactly my style, but Hillary's does do a nice job overall of providing a nice dining area, excellent Greek salad, and a quality of pizza that many others enjoy. I found the pizza better on the second day when I reheated it at home. I found the outside of the business not so enticing, being right next to a check cashing store. Once inside however, the Chicago themed artwork, lighting hanging from the rafters, and the bar area we're all quite attractive. Service was also good on the day of our visit, we were told that the standard thick crust Chicago style pizza generally takes between 45 minutes and an hour to prepare, in case you're expecting to enjoy in-restaurant dining. Pricing for a salad and a shared pizza with drinks, tip and tax average about $30 per person, a reasonable value. Overall, the quality of the product is excellent, it's just not necessarily my preferred style of pizza. read more

We had heard about this pizza place from some other friends and decided to give it a try today for lunch. They are known for their Chicago deep dish pizza. The menu also offers thin crust pizza as well as salads and sandwiches. They also have plenty of Chicago themed artwork and decor. We started with the Greek salad and it was really good with Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, peppers, artichokes, olives and feta cheese. The dressing was also good. My husband heard good things about their deep dish so we made the trip to give them a try. It's located in a strip mall so there's plenty of parking, especially because there are some stores that look shut down. It's on the smaller side but there's plenty of room for each space with their layout. We of course got the deep dish so we needed an app to tide us over. We split the pizza, which was pretty decent but could use a better balance of cheese and sauce. Service was good. If we're in the area, we might stop in. read more

The Chicago style pizza takes 45 minutes to cook so you may hay a few minutes to grab a cold one on a hot Florida day or evening. You really should. This way you can sample the beer specials at the bar. Some nights they also have wine sampling to try glasses or 1/2 bottles of wines. Amazing. This is what I miss most about Chicago. Don't waste your time with deep dish. It's a tourist trap and just mediocre (I didn't try Hillary's, it may be amazing, idk). We moved here from the Chicago area 4 years ago and I haven't been able to find a "true" Italian Beef sandwich since, that is until now. They have the real deal here and it was delicious. She had the meatball app and it was very tasty too. The service was great, I believe Diane was her name and she was a one woman show on a Sunday afternoon and she was all over the place but she never forgot about us. We felt like we were the only table she had. On top of that there was a lady at the bar who had been waiting a long time for her pizza and without any complaining from her, Diane brought her a comp dessert for her patience. That was awesome! Came down for a yelp event and decided to eat here first. Super unassuming location but pizza really delivered. Ordered the monthly special brisket pie and the hot honey. Both delicious on the Chicago crust. Super crispy and tasty. They had Prosecco on tap which was so tasty. We also tried the dessert special cheesecakes made by a local chef. I got the "personal" chicago deep dish pizza and it was delicious, I loved it! Very flavorful, from the crisp crust, the sauce had a kick, and the cheese was generous. I'd definitely grab carryout again. I'd recommend calling ahead because it takes a while to cook. The dining area is also very small. I actually got 4 meals out the "personal" pizza. Probably the best Chicago Beef sandwich in all of Florida...and that includes the Portillo franchise. Authentic as it gets with rolls and giardinieri from Chicago. Owner was super friendly and the place has good Chicago decor. I did t have a beer but they seem to have a good selection. We didn't do the deep pizza but went thin crust cheese. It was good but not to the level of the sandwich. Could have used some toppings and next time will try the sausage on it, also brought in from Chicago. I visited Hillary's Chicago pizza in St. Augustine today. This place is small but very homey and the people are very friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Chicago deep dish pizza and was told that it was going to take 45 minutes to an hour. This is normal for deep dish that is done properly and from scratch. The pizza was very tasty with plenty of ingredients. The sauce had a little wine flavor, which is indicative of homemade sauce. The crust was amazing and the pie was cooked to perfection. They also have deep dish slices which take less time and may be more appropriate for a quick lunch. The thin crust from what I saw from others seemed very thin and crispy. The Chicago Italian beef also looked good. The place also offers wine and beer. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and the food was very good. If I'm in the area again I'll definitely get back to Hillary's Chicago Pizza. read more

We have eaten here many times and the pizzas are consistently delicious. We are a divided house. My husband prefers the deep dish and I prefer the tavern style so we take turns. Hillary's makes a delicious crust thick or thin. One server working and she took care of everyone. It was 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Almost every table was full. It is all decorated for Christmas right now and there are holiday lights and decorations. It looks very festive. If it wasn't for the waistline situation, we would eat here every week. read more

$16 for a dry combo sandwich that took over 20 minutes to make. Bar tender with blue hair gave the excuse that the cook was only 1 person working. However a total of 4 customers in the restaurant made for a rough explanation. when I received the combo sandwich it had 1 bell pepper slice, 2 pieces of sport pepper and a carrot cube. Not exactly a Chicago combo from back in Bridgeport. I then told the blue haired bartender that my combo lacked peppers for $16 I was charged she pointed to the 2 peppers. If I can get a picture added to this review I will so that you can see the sad sandwich they call a Chicago combo. Real Chi town people have more pride in their hometown food. We tried Hillary's deep dish Chicago style pizza in the past by takeout, and it was amazing, so I was really excited to visit for a sit down meal at their location in the Barnes and Noble strip mall, where B&D used to be. Hillary's has their sign in place now so there should be no trouble locating them. Which is good news, because you're going to want to locate them, whether you dine in or take out. This time I tried the thin crust style pizza and let me tell you, it was amazing. Paper thin cornmeal crust with plenty of high-quality cheese and a delicious sauce, sheer perfection. I had originally planned to save half to take home for lunch the next day, but between my wife and I we finished it off with no regrets. We also tried the Chicago beef, which was excellent, and the pretzel with beer cheese. The only complaint is they need to give us more cheese sauce! Meatball sub with homemade meatballs-delicious. The artichoke dip was also excellent, but the star of the 'side' show is the creamy garlic dressing you can get with your salad. We did ask for more of that and it was happily provided. In fact, service was excellent overall, conducted with a smile and genuine welcome. Pros: Plenty of parking in the strip mall, and an extensive draft beer collection! Hilarys Chisago style pizza. Finally made it out there If your from chicago and living in Jacksonville FL area. This place is the closest you'll get to Chicago style pizza and Italian beef.. I have tried all of them carbines, rosatis, moon pie etc. Forget about it. This is it.. 1) the Italian beef was spot on and the gardinara peppers slices it up. 2) my kids devoured the thin Chicago style pizza. Also spot on 3) the deep dish is a cross over of rosatis sauce but thankfully not as much. Lou malnatis crust without the thick sausage(which I actually love about lous). This is the closest you'll get to Chicago style pizza on fl .. The place is kinda small but you can order to go frozen and make it at home or half way cooked and finish it at home.
