My freezer was melting so I got on yelp and searched emergency appliance repair. They have great reviews and their info said they did refrigerators so it was an easy choice. I spoke with Cathy at about 8:30 am and Leonard was here in about two hours. He opened the freezer door and with out doing anything else knew what the problem was. He was great because he explained everything the whole way through. What part was broke, why it broke, how he was going to fix it and why that fix is going to last. Great service the whole way through from my initial call to the final repair. I admittedly have some dated appliances so I'm sure I'll be calling them soon haha. read more

This appliance company hands-down is by far the best I have ever used. Professional, honest, friendly and the customer service was exceptional. I called a few days before Christmas and the owner answered. Leonard was so helpful and he came out right away on 12-26-2018. My gas cooktop burners were not all working. It turned out several knobs were broken and instead of him charging me to come out again, once the parts came in. He called the manufacture ordered them for me so that they would come directly to my house and I could replace them myself. Broken dishwasher. Water leaked from the countertop into the control panel and short-circuited the panel. It was a high-end new dishwasher. Hillside came within a day and discovered that the part would take one week to be shipped. No problem. That part was to $250. Ok. I can deal with that, but the labor was $220 and took him a total of 40 minutes between two visits -total. So I think they have five star service, but I also think that they're slightly overpriced. That's why I gave them four stars. The technician was clean, kind, and did not stink so maybe that was worth $75 more? Top service, just expensive labor. read more

Called Hillside Appliance the Friday before a long weekend because our washer had broken. Our washer was covered by a home appliance warranty but the warranty company kept telling us that they called 10 places but would not be able to get a tech out until the Tuesday after the holiday. We called Hillside at about 4:30 PM on a Friday. They had a technician at our house on Saturday. Aleks was very nice and diagnosed the problem right away. They did not charge us extra for working a Saturday before a holiday either. The company worked with my home appliance warranty company to resolve the issue to our satisfaction. I like this company's work ethic and everyone I have spoken to at the company gave me a honest, hard working feeling. If I ever have an issue, I will not hesitate to call them. These guys are awesome! Our dishwasher revolted on Thanksgiving! Not the best timing, but Leonard was able to get one of his crew out to fix it on Saturday! Alex was professional and did a great job! This is absolutely the worst company ever...we have been waiting for a guy to fix our oven, he ended up canceling his appointment with us and never called us back. I stated my concern on an email and he answers with "I'm not sure if i would ever come to fix your oven" just because i stated my concern about the fact that he canceled and we never received a call to reschedule. We had a fridge that wasn't cooling properly. Called Hillside, due to its high ratings, and we were not disappointed. Travis arrived a couple of hours later. When calling, we had requested the tech wear a mask and Travis did so. We felt he was honest and clearly knew what he was doing. Turned out we needed a part that would cost $500, including labor. Travis advised that it probably wouldn't make sense to replace the part, given that the fridge is 10 years old. So we ended up buying a new unit. We'll definitely call Hillside again! read more

Leonard left trash behind, didn't clean up the space after spraying dust everywhere in our kitchen, and came unprepared without his own equipment and asked to use ours. My refrigerator stopped cooling at 5pm, it had power, but the compressor seemed not to work. I called Hillside appliance to see if they could come out and service the unit before all the food spoiled. They said they would be out in 30 minutes. In 20 minutes the were at my door. Leonard the owner, came out with a new service person to work on the refrigerator. I was impressed with his logical and straightforward troubleshooting method. He explained to his new technician each step in the process and they quickly determined a relay for the compressor and a capacitor, was defective. The refrigerator was back in working order within 20 minutes. This is the second time I have used Hillside Appliance repair (the first time for a washer repair), and I highly recommend them!! read more

Hillside Appliance Services: Leonard from Hillside Appliances came to my home on 7/20/2013 to un-plug/repair our washing machine. After about a 1.5 hours and not supplying any parts I was billed $200. In addition to being highly overpriced, he broke one of the hose clips, couldn't figure out where a missing screw went to (he put in the tray underneath the washing machine) and scrape one of my doors with the washing machine while bringing it back into the home. I wouldn't recommend Hillside Appliance Service for any type of work. They are incompetent, unapologetic, and extremely expensive. Shop around if you need this type of service. I wish I had had a referral to begin with. read more

Another review states that the service call was $50 a year ago, today it was $75. The technician found that the leak with my LG washing machine was an unfastened hose line attached to the drum. He put a simple clip on it and charged me $100 total. It didn't seem to me that this should be a charge beyond the call. He was at my home 30 minutes. I'm pleased to have my washer fixed. read more

Leonard just left after fixing my washing machine that wouldn't drain. This was after two other companies did not show up as promised and one earlier today who told me to just buy a new one (my washer is only 4 years old). When I called mid-afternoon, Cathy was so sympathetic after I told her my story she promised someone would be at my home before 5. Leonard arrived by 3:30. Within minutes he found the drain motor that had been installed only 4 months ago by a different company was not wired correctly and was no longer connected. He rewired the motor connection, and the washer works like a champ. I've never been so excited to do laundry. We had a washing machine with a leak. Sears, whom we've used in the past for service, was unresponsive to our need to fix it so we looked for providers on our own. A Google search turned up Hillside. They seemed to have good reviews so I decided to go for it. We were very happy with their service. They were able to give us an appointment the day after my call and the technician arrived within the quoted time window. He found the problem right away - a bad valve. I appreciate that he showed me the problem. Fortunately he had the necessary replacement part with him and was able to install it and get the machine working again in less than an hour. I was very satisfied with the experience with Hillside and will definitely use them again. read more
