Not my idea of good Greek food. Most of the ingredients are processed. The tzatziki was made with a sour cream substitute instead of yogurt. The gyros was frozen reheated meat on the griddle. The Greek Salad was served with prepackaged dressing on the side. The fries were frozen. read more

Early dinner after Apple picking on a Sunday afternoon. Bright no frills restaurant, order at the counter. Had the Gyro plater w fried and salad. The Gyro came wrapped w typical toppings. The salad came w olives, red onion and feta. The portions are very generous. Second item was Haddock plater w option of fries or onion rings. Fish was hot and nicely cooked onion rings crisp as well. 5 stars for being what a family-run diner should be. The first thing you will notice is that the place is so very CLEAN. Every surface looks like it just went through an end-of-night thorough breakdown, and I came in right after lunch rush. The entire kitchen is in open view, with mirror-bright steel and everything organized. That takes passion in what you are doing. I spent ten years in food service and never worked in a place run that well. The result showed in the food. I had a burger and fries. The fries were perfectly cooked and a beautiful golden color. They were certainly not cooked in yesterday's oil. The burger was large and tasty, and unlike most burger places, they had the sense to put the mayo on the lower bun like I do at home, to help keep the bottom bun from getting soggy with juice from the burger. This place has what so many restaurants are missing, AMAZING SERVICE. The owner and other gentleman I often see are beyond friendly and always go out of their way to accommodate. I usually come in with my 2 young kids, one being a crazy toddler, and they always do whatever they can to make us happy. They are so friendly and kind. The food is great. It's simple, casual food, with great flavor and large portions. i was even able to request a dish that wasn't on the menu and they were happy to put it together. Found this place on here on Yelp while on the way to Tougas farm this past September. It had good reviews so thought we'd try it out. It's located on West Main St (Rt. 20) with plenty of parking and the entrance in the back. First impression at walking in was "wow, this place is impeccably clean!" Wasn't sure what to order and was advised to try their home-made Roast Beef sandwich - it was delicious! The beef was thinly sliced and juicy with fresh veggies on a lightly toasted ciabatta roll with some mayo and cheese on it. I don't think that sandwich could've been made any better. My girlfriend ordered their Greek salad with grilled chicken which was also very fresh and the chicken was marinated and juicy. Overall a great lunch experience. It was slow when we came in but around two dozen people visited during our stay. They all seemed pleased and some who picked up to go orders seemed like repeat customers. The place was super clean and the family who runs it were very friendly. They offered us to try (for free) some of their dessert saying that their mom / wife just made it that morning. It was also delicious. This is what a true family restaurants should be like. Hopefully this great service doesn't change and their new and repeat customers get the same experience we did. So far I've tried the Chicken Souvlaki, Roast Beef Sandwich, and Greek Mac N Cheese. All are delicious. The Roast Beef is so good!! Get it warmed up with horseradish and its delicious. The guys there are awesome and so friendly. They will remember you if you go a few times. We order and eat there and they bring the food over to you when it's ready. Friendly service and good food! Place is hard to find as it's very nondescript. Even inside kind of looks like an old pizza joint. Don't let that fool you. The food there is incredible. I had the chicken souvlaki . It was awesome. Even my wife had the roast beef sandwich based on recommendations from other people. She literally said it was the best she's ever had. Boy we wish this place was closer to where we live. If you're in the area or if you're local you have to try this place. If we are ever passing through the area again, you can guarantee that will be stopping by. We just went back again this past weekend and shared a fried haddock and onion rings dinner. The strip of fish was large and thick, more than enough to feel full and happy when we finished! Hit Hillside on the way home from Solomon Pond. Our visit started with the owner holding the door open for us, and made some friendly banter as we entered. He made excellent food suggestions. I had the chicken souvlaki. It was perfect. My girlfriend had a Greek salad with grilled chicken. Her salad was HUGE with tons of chicken. The quantity and quality is exceptional. They answer the phone and sound like they want to talk to you, when you walk in you're greeted with a smile. I've only ever ordered salad here so I can only speak for that- their antipasto is huge and SO good. I've been looking for a big salad with lots of meat in the area and finally found my go to place! Whenever I am driving Northborough I always stop by Hillside Grill, they serve really great food and I really enjoy their chicken tenders and steak and cheese subs with their crispy fries. This is a cute, family-owned short order restaurant, with sandwiches, salads, pizzas, and other options. We stopped here with our kids for lunch during a road trip. When we arrived, we were personally greeted by the owner, who introduced himself and add jokes with my kids. They even offered up a custom kid-sized chicken plate for my daughter. We tried gyros, a burger, Greek salD, and fried chicken, and it was all great. The owner have my kids free Popsicles on the way out. Great food, great service. Customer Service & Convenience Hillside's only been open for a few months, but I'm already a regular. The restaurant is operated by a father and his two sons, and you really get the family feel. From the moment you walk in, they're focusing on details and catering to your every need. Thankfully, the food is as good as the service. I got chicken fingers, the used real chicken, breaded it and fried it. That's right, they didn't just reach into the freezer and throw into the fryer. Fish and chips was one of he best I have ever had Chicken Slovakian (spelled wrong) was perhaps the best I have ever had. The staff really cared. They were friendly and enjoyed working there. Most entrees come with a side of fries, but you can request to substitute with side salad, which is as large as a full entree salad at some other places (and topped with heaps of feta cheese). John is funny and friendly, and makes a genuine connection with customers, all while manning the grill and putting together mouth-watering meals. Family run small kitchen type establishment with absolutely excellent food!!! The fish was fresh as could be and the portions were huge. The salad and fries were very tasty. The Shrimp Stir Fry was also very good. The decor isn't much but with reasonable prices and great tasting food, who cares. The service was friendly and quick and the Father even came out of the kitchen and spoke with us for a while. He was very gracious and generous!!! I highly recommend this eating here!!!! read more
