If you like sitting with two more people on a table that is barely enough for two people, if you like being shoved by people walking next to you while you are trying to put food into your mouth sitting in your chair, if you like being treated by waiters as if they are doing a great favor to you by allowing you to eat in their restaurant, if you like seeing the cleaning guy hurriedly shoving left food crumbs onto ground so that they can quickly allot the table to next one on list and finally if you like being told by waiters that you should wait for whatever time it takes for the finished items to be refilled then this is the place for you. This is a very popular place on a weekend where you need to wait for 45 mins to 1 hour before they give you a table. Due to high demand they packed so many tables here is hardly any place to move around. The waiters are very rude and they feel that we somehow need to be indebted to them just to be able to dine in their restaurant. For them, you are just a line on their list they want to scratch off. You should just shut up, eat your food and get the hell out of there so that they can give your table to next one on the list. Don't get me wrong, food tastes excellent, though the number of vegetarian items is very less compared to other restaurants. But the ambiance is extremely poor and the seating is so bad that you will feel that the person in next table is sitting in your lap. I would not go to this restaurant EVER. Might order to go but may not go to pick it up myself, don't want to ever talk to any waiter here. Might use door dash or uber eats. read more

This place is the bomb. I stopped by one time because there was still a sign for the taqueria that used to be in the same building. Decided to try their chicken marsala and was blown away. The thick buttery sauce was perfect. Tried the chicken chilly is also to die for. I enjoy every item i try off the menu. The one complaint I have is the wait time is a little long for such a small place but the one waitress they usually have working there is always really nice. I went there for a buffet today and boy, was I surprised! I had never seen another restaurant as busy as Himalayan! Aftee 20 mins of waiting, we were seated! We stood in a long line for the buffet! Boy, am I glad we did not bail when we saw the long line to get a seat! The non veg food was really yummy. The selections included goat biryani, chicken biryani, goat curry, gongura chicken, tandoori chicken, mint chicken and a couple of other meat curries. The flavors were rich and meat moist! Spice level was perfect! I also had the val papdi fry as my only veg dish and it wqs good too! Dessert was fruit salad and some kind of bread pudding! It was awesome too! And to top it all the bill was only$23 for 2 buffets! I thought there was a mistake in the invoice but I guess not. This is my new favorite place for non veg options! We placed a delivery order from this place using eat24 site. Minimum order is $50 for delivery. We ordered 3 thalis ( 2 vegetarian and 1 fish-thali) and other items. First, they allowed us to customize our thali from the eat24 website. After order was placed, they called us to tell that it was a mistake and thali is standard. As per eat24 policy, they are not supposed to call customers. But, they did anyway. We decided to anyways go with the order. Once we received the order, we found that one of the vegeterian thali had fish in the lentil and a small piece of kabab. Thali was just ok. This was the worst kind of service. Simply horrible service. We sat down the waiter can and took our order. Owners and staff came out of the kitchen one by one with their food and ate while we sat and waited. All this time we could still hear someone in the kitchen cooking away and 45 minutes passed no sign of our food. Went and talked to the waiter and the waiter confirmed the food is coming in a minute or two it should be almost done. Waited another 15 minutes and still no food. Again had to go to the waiter to go ask no one approached us as to see what was going on. Customers who came after us got their food and here we are thinking we must have ordered something that takes a long time to cook. Still no food my wife and kid had started getting really irritated and the third time I went and said is this for real what in the world is going on. The waiter went inside and found out that our order had been misplaced and our food was not even in the picture. We left after 1and 1/2 hour and pissed. Never going back here. I am surprised that this restaurant has good reviews. I had a horrible experience that makes them deserve ZERO star. I went there with my 3 months old baby and went to grab good food with my family. Went in late lunch time at round 3:00. The waiter took forever to take the order. First asked for water...the waiteress didn't show up, had to call again. Then they took 30 mins to take the order. Then to our mere disappointment we had to wait for 1.30 hrs to see that the neighbour's table had their food come. Those ppl came much later than us (20 mins before their order came) and had similar order. Then when we asked them they said "oh we misplaced your order" and they only had 4 table of occupied. Helo...the order was similar. I see lot of places those are considerate and accommodating to see a visitors with small baby. This 3 months old baby in the bassinet was getting cranky. They cared less. Then we see bunch of staff marching from the kitchen with their share of food amongst which was the owner too. She cared less unless we had to literally walked out. She finally staggers her way out in the parking lot to talk us. Only thing she said was "if the food was ready, i would have let you take it without paying" Hello where is the customer service apology. I would say this place is racist too. coz they were catering indian crowd rather than the Nepali crowd. I would never want to go there nor would recommend anyone. read more

Food was really good. At least a four. Services was SO TERRIBLE that was a zero, so averaged out to two. I can't think of too many places where I loved the food so much, and hated the service so badly that I would think twice about returning. First the good things: tikka kebob was hot with just the right amount of spice, tikka masala was great, biryani was enough for three meals, and my guest raved about the lamb. I agree with the woman who said the naan could use more butter. Service was terrible when we came in and continued throughout the night. I was on crutches so wanted a table close to the front. After being told it was fine to sit there, someone insisted that I move to the back. One meal was served 15 minutes before the other three. Mango Lassie never arrived and had to be requested twice (room temperature when it did arrive). Naan didn't arrive, had to be requested 4 times. While the cute Indian girl at the table next to me was getting her second basket of naan delivered, the old white lady (me) was making her fourth request for her first basket. They tried to give us food we didn't order, so I suspect I wasn't the only person there unhappy about the service. Bill was screwed up and had to be redone, took 15 minutes (at least) to get out after we were done eating. And this was on a Thursday night, I can't imagine how bad things would be if it was actually busy. read more

Ordered the Himalayan goat meal over Eat24 for pickup. 10 minutes later I received a phone call telling me I couldn't order what I ordered. I repeatedly asked which one of the six options I couldn't have but their English was not good enough to explain to me the problem with the order. They just kept saying the curry was permafrost. I understood this and I did not make any special requests but there were five sides with the dinner special which all had options. I assume one of these was the problem but they didn't have the English skills to explain to me what it was. After five minutes on the phone, I asked to cancel my order because I had no idea what I would or wouldn't be receiving anymore. My recommendation would be not to offer whatever options on Eat24 that are not actually available. And also to get a better phone that doesn't sound so muffled or have someone that speaks better English use the phone. read more

I went to this place a couple of times because it is literally a few steps from where I live. Not great food (but does the job) and yes like one of the reviewers aptly pointed out, they can't handle more than 10 people at a time. This evening I visited, I got a to go box for a generous portion of leftover biriyani, forgot to take it with me as I left but soon realized so walked back in right after I went out of the door. The table was still being cleared I guess, so I asked and the guys seemed to be confused and looked around at all places. I tried asking the lady if they have thrown it away so that I wouldn't really waste my time standing there. She was least bothered to even look at me let alone answering any queries. At last one of the guys pulled out my box from the trash can and made a gesture as to ask if I was going to take it!!! They say i have to order food worth atlasT 50$ minimum... I was like wtf?? I would just want to eat one biriyani at max or so...Then I went ahead and ordered food for 2 day supply ( i stay in a hotel since i won't be staying here for long).... Oh Boy the chicken pakodas that they offer are the best.... Even better than HYD ventures....The best thing about this restaurant is that their food tastes better than other indian restaurants out here and i ordered like thrice from them already and all with Super spicy option and they did deliver what i wanted ( ofcource we need more spice in our curries and biriyanis ) but i did not mind... So anyone want to taste Indian food, try joint out and you won't regret...... A word of caution though when u order 3 breads ( naan etc ) you get 3 pieces and not 6 like we get in INDIA......
