Stopped in today and the hostess was nice and that's where it stops. Was seated and then ignored for 10 minutes. Wait staff walked by but nobody stopped at our table. No water, no menu, no acknowledgement and the place wasn't that busy. We just left and the dirty booths with food and hair on it made the decision easy to leave. read more

I could see that our waitress had a lot of tables, so this appeared to be more of a management issue or lack of staffing. We ordered two flights and ended up trying almost all of the beers on tap. (Yes, Hinterland is getting a three star review even with beer goggles on). The dark beers were a solid 4/5 stars overall. The lighter beers were a miss (overall 3/5). We wouldn't be back for the beers. THE NACHOS ARE A MUST ORDER ITEM! Seriously, so delicious and a decent portion size! The final complaint was that we wanted to visit the gift shop area after dining. We were looking around for a while, took our time picking out what we wanted, waited for help, and then I had to eventually go up to the host stand to ask someone to check us out. There were quite a few people at the host stand. We were told someone would help us soon, and then we had to wait almost long enough for us to give up and leave before someone walked over. Came here for a late lunch and got seated right away. We split the wagyu burger and it was perfectly cooked with melty cheese and dripping sauce but I thought it could have used more toppings. We got the side salad for an extra $4 and it was very satisfying with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and radishes. Ranch was also very creamy. 3 is ok on Yelp standards. This place is just that. What's most disappointing is the potential. Overall the food and service are good. What kind of knocks it down for me is the inconsistency in making great things from scratch and then charging a $3 up-charge for frozen bagged French fries (I didn't know they were bowling alley fries before ordering) instead of accepting the come with my meal chips. There's zero ways those fries are worth an additional $3, so this just seems opportunistic to me. Another turn off is getting slapped with a 3% charge for using my credit card. The items on the entire menu are overpriced, I guess I just figured I wouldn't get nickel and dimed having to pay a credit card convenience. The receipt says this isn't in excess of their fees, if that's true, this is a poorly managed business. These guys have decent food they actually do make, and the server couldn't have been nicer. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the beers he tried and being directly across the street from the stadium will keep these guys busy enough they probably don't care enough about the little tweaks that could make this place amazing. read more

I stopped by Hinterland Brewery with family while visiting Green Bay. It was a wonderful experience. The food and service were excellent but the highlight was the amazing craft beer. We only tried the burgers and fries but, they were outstanding. Our server was so helpful and on top of everything. Not impressed. The food was not good. We did their two different burgers, cheese curds and kids cheese pizza. The burgers were over cooked, burnt bacon and covered with way too much blue cheese dressing. The kids cheese pizza was charred and also was horrible tasting. No clue how you mess up a cheese pizza. Nothing special with the flight of beer. The kids only liked the cheese curds. It's unfortunate because it's a great atmosphere and area. On a plus note the server was very nice. I feel they are trying to push out the food too quickly and not focusing on quality. I'd rather take a slow ticket time over crap food anytime. Hinterland is a great spot in the area to have a few drinks. In fact, from a location standpoint, it's probably the best spot in the area for a few drinks. When there are games, it will be packed. The night before game day has been my only experience with Hinterland, but I assume my review would relate to many as that is likely where they make most of their money. If you are planning on getting food here, my recommendation is that you get plenty of drinks beforehand. Maybe one or two of their flights. The drinks that the bar make and the selection of beer were very good and take attention off of the food, which was not good overall--our pizza was not cooked all the way through, and the steak was mediocre. That said, comparatively to other restaurants in Green Bay, it was not terrible. The culinary scene is just nonexistent there. Not the best spot for food.. but for drinks and socializing, I enjoyed my time there. read more

Upscale brewery with refined foods. The space is really big but you should definitely make a reservation for night before game day. There were huge groups waiting but we had a 7pm reservation and skipped the line. Overall good experience and good food but one dish was disappointing and generally speaking, the menu is limited (no sides, no vegetarian entree except pizza). Brussels sprouts - good flavor and tasty BUT i have my issues with this dish. It is just leaves, not whole or even halved balls. It was probably a total of 10 balls with it leaves (at the max). Not worth at all the $14 price. I would not order this. Pizzas - great chewy crust and excellent flavors from the toppings. Meat - classic, good. Enough for one, probably won't finish or two people to share with an appetizer Mushroom - Does not have red sauce but it had so much flavor from the cheese and the abundance of mushrooms, the spicy arugula was a nice touch. Would order this pizza over and over again. Nachos - we didn't offer this but the portions we saw on other tables were HUGE!! Long time resident, first time at Hinterland. Love the fireplaces and ruminant decor. The menu selection is small but very intentional with locally sourced products. The brisket chili was quite good with huge serving sizes! Nice strong pour cocktails but $16 per drink is a bit outrageous for Green Bay. A great place to stop and check out next to Lambeau Field but be prepared to pay a little extra for the location. Also - you gotta try the salt scrub in the bathroom, great for those working hands! read more

Stopped in for one of their craft beers. Tried two of their stouts. The beers were well crafted but for $8 a glass I at least expected a clean bar at which to enjoy drinking them. Less than half the bar was occupied when I walked in and only found one space that wasn't dirty. Wet spots and food scraps everywhere. Literally more staff than customers yet no one thought to try cleaning while frantically looking for something to do. Even after 45 minutes and a dwindling "crowd" no cleaning was done. Oh, and the stench! It smelled like someone threw a salmon sandwich in a garbage can three days ago and set it on the barstool next to me. Had dinner here twice during our stay in GB. Everything was amazing. The vibe inside this brewery restaurant was unique, the wildlife decor gave it an outdoorsy feel without losing the brewery style. Came for dinner on July 4th weekend. We were a bit surprised that it wasn't packed. It's a bit pricey for the average Green Bay dinner (having lived there previously, I can say that). But, it is definitely worth it in my opinion. A "side salad" upgrade was $4, but this was not your average side salad. It was filled with crispy romaine, delicious veggies, pickled onions, thinly-sliced cucumbers and radishes, and actually ripe tomatoes. I had the mushroom pizza with goat cheese, arugula, lemon truffle sauce. So good! The lemon was very light, but that along with the peppery arugula perfectly set off the umami of the goat cheese and mushrooms. The crust had just a hint of beer. And lots left over for a midnight snack. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich. It had to have at least a half pound of smoky pork set off with an apple slaw. It was a little dry in parts, but overall very good. A couple of their cherry wheat beers added just the right note of tart. Service was very good, with everyone pitching in and friendly. I'm sure this place is a madhouse on Packer weekends, but worth checking out anytime. read more

If you enjoy sitting at a bar that hasn't been wiped down or cleaned in 3 hours, this is the place for you! if you are someone who has the ambition to wipe your hand across the bar to gather the crumbs and food scraps, it could provide a soft place to rest your elbows while you wait for the bartenders to stop talking to their friends and wait on you. Okay, pricey and a little loud...so what!! Food is remarkable and truly makes you reaffirm the old saying "you get what you pay for!" Ate at the bar and watched the kitchen work like maniacs to get the food out! Beet salad was light and delicious, while the pork belly and shrimp was heavy and delightful! My wife and I split the amazing pastrami sandwich which was, seriously, the best one we have ever ever had!!! Finally, the beers...excellent, just friggin excellent!! This is the worst service I have ever experienced. We sat down at the bar, ordered two beers , then the bartender gave us four beers and demanded that we pay for all four beers. But we only ordered two beers. Then we had trouble getting a Lyft driver to pick us up and the bartender told us to walk a half mile to another bar, because it was easier to get a Lyft from that bar. Needless to say I will never be back again, and encourage others to steer clear of this bar. read more

Eclectic The servers are nice but what they tell you in on special is actually just a regular item menu where they mixed up the protein ingredients What we had Aleppo cauliflower - I wasn't expecting a dee fried middle eastern cauliflower dish. It was weird but not bad Mixed salad- it was tasty but at $14 dollars - what over priced Chorizo chicken spicy chili- very tasty with good heat- for $8 a small bowl-steep in price but cheap compared to the salad Wisconsin plate - an array of cured meats and cheeses. Ok. Nothing special. Best for sharing but worth $18 Thai chicken salad- pretty good All in all- not bad. But I think I liked their old location better read more

We had a company dinner here. It's a pleasant venue. The Gochujang BBQ Duck Wings were a great starter. The kimchi was not overpowering and added nicely to the sweet and spicy oriental BBQ glaze on the wings. Then came the entrée. I thought I'd go with the ribeye. Who wouldn't, right? I mean, it's ribeye. Then at the last moment, I asked the server, who my buddy was flirting with, "What sort of cut is a 'striploin'? I've never heard of that before." She said she didn't know, but she could go ask. I was too dumb to make the decision to go back to the ribeye. I should have paid more attention to my spider sense - it was tingling...trying to tell me that if she didn't even know what cut it was, that it wasn't the right choice to make. But I did it anyway. Dumb, dumb, dumb. See, it turns out that "beef striploin" is a code word for over-seasoned, not tender or juicy, over cooked piece of horse meat. I really should give more stars and not blame the restaurant for my error in choosing the "beef striploin". After all, if it was a real steak, they would have called it something that people have heard of before. Oh, and if you like to drink more than 1 glass of water over a hour and a half dinner out, perhaps you should bring water with you. Our server wasn't very focused on that aspect, and also wasn't thoughtful enough to just leave a pitcher. And the chips with goat cheese dip was good too... and so were the cheese curds. Just don't get the "beef striploin". It's a sad, sad piece of horseflesh pretending to be a steak. read more
