We came to this place as it was recommended when we were in search of something similar to this korean bbq spot that is found in Hawaii. As far as the food is concerned, they meet the mark. Everything was tasty and being able to build your plate exactly as you want it is incredible. The meat was flavorful and tender. The sides were also very tasty. The restaurant itself offers no seating and is a to-go based experience which is completely fine. The food took about 15-20 minutes to be completed from ordered as I believe it is made to order, I would recommend calling ahead to place your order, or ordering online to save some time. The reason the review is only 4 stars as opposed to 5, is because the service was not the greatest. The gentleman who took our order was very short and appeared as if he was annoyed with any questions or that he had to be there in the first place. Typically, service isn't that important to me as long as the food is good, especially when not at a sit down, fine dining type of place. Also, the prices were definitely on the higher side but not insane. The smaller of the two sizes is what I had ordered and is in the attached photo, perfectly fine for 1 person, or 2 who do not eat a-lot at a time.

Meat Jun, w/ Japchae, tofu and fish cake. Always delicious!

We've come to this Korean take out for quite some time and never been disappointed. Service always very attentive and food comes out quick! Always enjoy picking out the sides our plate, with so many selection to choose from. We always get the Japchae (glass noodles), fish cake and tofu. Always get their Meat Jun, Delicious! Ambiance is not much as it's only take out, but always clean and presentable. Thanks, Mason!

This has lived up to all of the hype. The meat jun is so ono! Reminds me of home. And to have your choice of multiple sides...oh yeah We ordered the mini spicy pork plate and the regular meat jun. the difference was the amount of rice and sides you get. We will definitely be back for more and add this to our list regular joints to visit in Las Vegas.

This was our first time visiting Hippo Grill. They are very friendly however it is weird that you are not able to sample the sides. We weren't asking to sample all of them just one. They advised they don't do samples. Either way we figured why not let's give it a try. It did not disappoint..... we ordered 2 different mixed plates. Since they don't have tables available they advised they would bring it out once it is done. The overall wait was approximately 15 minutes which isn't bad for good food. The plates had some weight to them to say the least. We had to wait to get home before trying it since they are strictly a take out location but it was still good. Would I say it's the best we've ever had, probably not. Will we be going back anytime soon? Probably not. But if we happen to be on that side of town maybe.

Delicious!! The grilled bbq chicken is delicious! Kimchi, cucumber, japchae, cabbage, corn and Mac salad all tasted great! Their spicy sauce is unique. Great customer service too. Check them out! I'll try the Kalbi next time.

Such a good fast-casual spot for some Korean classics. Service is always friendly. The portions are enough to share and most food is cooked hot and ready when you get there. Definitely try a combo.

Kal-bi plate with vegetables which is called ban Chan which wasn't even tasty and the kim chi wasn't great either!

This place is a rip off we paid $34.00 for 1 plate. I ordered a combo mix plate that includes Kal-bi and meat jun. They charged as an ala carte for the kal-bi is $13.99 for what 2 slices that were cut up to look more on your plate! I am boycotting this place we are never going back!

This is like Subway for Korean grilled food, but the food quality is very high. We have been coming here for a few years now and this review is well past due. First note that this is a takeout only place. You can't dine in. Also, note they will cook your food to order. The food isn't sitting on a hot food line, so be prepared to wait (or you can order online, but they don't take phone orders). The main option is to pick your meat(s): chicken, beef, pork, or shrimp. Then you either get 2 sides (mini) or 4 sides (regular) plus rice. When I was there people two people came in and got minis... I didn't understand.. for a few bucks more you get more food which heats up really well for second or third meals :) The sides are so good here. You have your choice of in house made banchan (e.g., kimchi, bean sprouts, japchae, potatoes, mac salad.. and way more to list... that's what i should've taken a picture of). We've tried a lot of the menu, but my go to is the spicy pork. It's full of flavor and is a lot of meat. Their meat jun is also a great option if you're feeling beef. I will say the times I've had the chicken, I've not been as happy (consider that it's sitting while you get home or somewhere where you can eat so maybe that's it). The service staff is always friendly. This isn't fast food, but it's well worth the wait!

    Mini meat Jun.

This place reminds me of the Hawaiian style Korean fast food restaurants back home in Hawaii. I was surprised how much food was given for their mini plates. The meat jun was really good and the Korean chicken was good but needed more sauce. Sides were ok.

After coming here many times, I was compelled to write a review. My interaction with JB or JD- whatever it is; well I'm delighted to say, it was very personable, and informative. The food, as always.. it's amazing, no doubt about that, but today; simply amazing! The meat Jun was absolutely flavorful and cooked to perfection, my all time favorite; plus the side dishes, never lack flavor! All-together, I would always recommend this place to anyone looking for some hearty Korean food; this place is well worth it. Also, whoever is complaining about prices, get over yourself- it's 2026, nothing is going down, everything goes up; if anything, this place has gone up, in flavor baby! Highly recommend, great local spot, worth the wait, worth the drive, worth your dime!

Combo meat jun and BBQ chicken. They forgot to give me ANY SAUCE for my meat jun!

This was the 4th or 5th time I have ordered via UberEats. I usually order meat jun and BBQ chicken. The first couple times my food was great. Reasonably priced, good portion sizes, cooked well and tasty. Since then the quality has gone down significantly, the portion sizes have decreased and the prices have increased. One time I had egg shells in the egg covered my meat jun. Last night was by far the worst. I ordered meat jun, BBQ chicken, potato salad, cucumber and regular kimchi and fish cake. The potatoes were undercooked. And everything was SO BLAND. There was hardly any flavor in anything except the kimchi. The chicken thighs were so dry that they were almost powdery in texture and had hardly any flavor. It was as though they had been cooked earlier and reheated, because there was no moisture at all. Pretty difficult to do with chicken thighs! To make it worse, they failed to give me any sauce for my meat jun! Anyone that eats meat jun knows how important the sauce is to the dish. When I contacted the restaurant, the person working insinuated that I was lying. I told him that the only thing in my bag other than my food was the utensils and napkins. He claimed that they always put the sauce into the bag when they put the napkins. I told him to check his cameras (I assume they have them) because I had NO SAUCE. When I asked him what he could do, he said the only thing he could do was give me an extra sauce the next time! WHAT A JOKE! What would an extra sauce do for me next time when I 1) don't have any sauce for my meal that night and 2) I don't need extra sauce! He got my address and phone number and offered to drop off some sauce after they closed at 8:30pm. Mind you, I placed my order at 4:45pm and called him at around 5:15pm. So I would have to wait 3 hours. I asked him if he would throw in some fried mandoo or something for the inconvenience and he refused. Well, 8:30pm came and went and he never showed up. I had a feeling he probably wouldn't. Receiving such a crappy meal that was missing a key component and pretty much being blown off after spending $30, I probably won't be ordering again. UPDATE: I contacted the restaurant and spoke with Mason, the manager. He was very apologetic and offered to make this right. Unfortunately, I would have to visit the restaurant in person, which is a big inconvenient. But I do appreciate his effort and will take him up on his offer when I can. Thanks, Mason.

Been craving garlic shrimp, and this is the first place in Vegas that really delivered. Not exactly like the ones I had in Hawaii, but the house sauce won me over. I'll be back for sure!

This place is in a "plaza area" and its surrounded by a bunch of different types of shops so parking is plentiful. The joint itself is clean and functional on the inside. Plenty of tables, quick /friendly service, and a bunch of options for eats. The menu is broken down by Soups, rice dishes, hotpot, jovial, soondae, bbq items and then some "app type bites". The menu is expansive but I can confidently say, I have not been disappointed yet. Over the last few trips, I have had the naengmyrun, the soondae soup, the spicy pork belly soup, and the bossam.  The banchans are good and they offer a small but delicious assortment. The Bossam was delicious, with no smell on it and good portions. The soups are all fantastic (absolutely delicious), and the naengmyun is absolutely delicious. Pair this with a nice cold bottle of soju and this meal has been hitting home every time ive been there recently. The Service is absolutely fantastic. They are super friendly and honestly so efficient. This joint is my current favorite... Just good food, good service, good eats, and reasonable prices.  Approved!
