Instead there is a surcharge so all employees can have a livable wage and that's so appreciated and you can tell by the service. Everyone we encountered had a genuine smile on their face. But for today I decided on an order of Brisket and Beef Ribs with no sides. The Brisket looked pretty damn well made to me, the smoke rings were clearly visible. Then I took my fork and easily sliced through it like a hot knife through butter. And as I did I could see the lucious meat juices drip off my fork. I couldn't wait to place it into my mouth. Once I did I was in love with it. So so tender and a good smoke flavor to it, not overpowering. As for the Beef Ribs, they were big and flavorful! Easily fall off the bone and amazing juicy! Besides the meat I also got a side of their Spicy BBQ, and I have to say I liked it a lot, probably my new favorite BBQ sauce! I was suprised at the smokey character of the sauce that prevents it from being too sweet. It had enough spice that I could taste the heat but it was nothing no one can handle. I am glad they gave me 3 dipping cups of that BBQ sauce, gladly dip or paint it on any meat I get. This truck is another winner for me and I am so glad to see lots of Hmong food trucks popping up making outrageously good food! Also the owners are friendly and provide good service. Dong Hae 2 is located in a shopping plaza so there is plenty of parking. We ordered the AYCE which consists of Korean BBQ and Sushi. The cost was $45/person. They give you order sheets and you fill them out for each order. For the Sushi, we concentrated on the Salmon, Yellowtail, Escolar Sashimi (which you can order 4 at a time). For nigiri , we tried our standard Yellowtail, Salmon, Eel, Escolar. The sashimi was pretty good and the size of the pieces was generous. The sushi was okay. A little too much rice for our taste. For the Korean BBQ, we got the Kalbi, Brisket, Pork Belly, and New York Steak (1 per person). Each portion was a generous size and should be taken into account when managing your portions. The mood was very pleasant and everybody seemed to be enjoying their meals. The servers were also all very attentive.

But the building itself is an old A&W drive-in fast food joint, built in 1953. Very cool! Most people seem to drive around the back of the building and pull into one of the parking spots that were "order from your car" spaces back in the day. Or you can just park on the street. Then you walk up to the window and place your order. Easy, right? This is where it starts to get weird. The sliding order window has 2 basement window well covers bolted over the sliding doors, like a big clam shell. The owners cut a flap in the bottom that only opens from the inside. Apparently, this is some sort of home-made do-it-yourself security thing. It seems to do the job...but you can't talk to them and they can't hear you until they slide open the door and then shout through the clam shell. And they don't seem to be in a hurry to do anything. I stood around like an idiot for a while, watching the lady, until she FINALLY slid the door open and talked to me. Kinda hard to hear through the big plastic clam shell. Speaking of shouting...you wait in your car or stand outside for 15 or 20 minutes and they yell when your food is ready. You can't hear what they're saying when they shout...but it all seems to workout okay. Like I said - quirky. LOW CARB: Okay, on to the most important thing: the food. I got the rib tip combo meal with a big hot link. Both were excellent. The rib tips were amazingly tender and lathered in generous amounts of a sweet sauce. Great taste. My hot link was huge and flavorful. For some reason, it reminded me of a big blood sausage. Good stuff. Unfortunately, you can't get any meat without sides. And all of the sides are plants. So in addition to my meats, I received and payed for unwanted carbohydrates of coleslaw, white bread toast, and a huge mountain starchy of fries. Those all came home with me to feed the Blue Jays and the Squirrels. That was kind of a waste of food but I had no choice about the high starch carbohydrate sides. I like this place.
