Had the worst experience tonight. We tried to get our servers attention for a while. We were told a half hour that the pizza oven was broke. We say that we would have salad and go. Our salad came with multiple hairs. The management said go and we will take care of the bill. An hour later we got a call from the police. Pizza is pretty good, and service is friendly. But not a single server or bartender was wearing a mask. They had them around their necks or hanging from an ear, but watching them breathe and talk into and around the food and drinks was a little unsettling. Also, I ordered a pizza to pick up and they told me thirty minutes. But I was still sitting waiting for it over an hour later. I totally understand businesses being understaffed right now...but it was a bit ridiculous for a pizza pick up order. read more

Nice neighborhood bar. There is a dining area, small game room and bar. Had the thin crust supreme pizza. Very typical bar pizza. They did not skimp on toppings and the edges were nice and crispy. The chicken wings were fried nicely and juicy. We opted for the sauce on the side. After eating we played in the game room for a bit. There are 2 pinball machines, a couple video games and a hockey game. Bring some dollar bills. They have daily specials with half price pizza. Service is friendly. I ordered by calling to place an order for two thin crust pizzas on Friday June 14th at 4:33 PM. I was told the order would be ready in 25 minutes. I arrived to pick up the order just after 5:00 PM. The pick up counter was very chaotic, but I was able to pay for the order and told the pizzas weren't ready. I waited until 5:25 when the pizzas were finally ready. Many servers just walking around near the pick up counter. One of the servers asked the woman who was in charge if she could help with anything and she was dismissed. A young man appeared to be training during a very chaotic time. I was told the kitchen had an order for six pizzas and the order caused the delay. I had guests at home waiting for dinner. The pizzas were mediocre at best. Poor management, poor service. read more

Came here after a kids soccer tournament. They had plenty of seating and service was fast. The food was delicious. We all got pizza. The BBQ chicken is awesome. Meat lovers is awesome as well. If ever in Libertyville area for kids events this place is great for groups. read more

The food was good, however the service by Michelle was outstanding. We had a party of two with a large party of over 15 behind us that she was also serving. Went here today to watch the Broncos game. When I got there I was humiliated by the owner who saw my Denver Broncos shirt wouldn't even stop to talk to me but rushed past and said "not now maybe later". Not sure what that meant but he said "we don't have that subscription". Unfortunately I had to go to Buffalo Wild Wings. Won't be going back to Hitz. I Met a Saints fan at BWW who also went by Hitz and got the same reaction. Bacon goes great on everything. Especially a BLT. So why not cross a BLT and a pizza? Well Hitz did! This is one of the best pizza joints and sports bars in the area. The food is really great and the service is typically spot on. You can usually find me swinging through on Monday's to carry-out one of their half priced pizzas! The BLT pizza is my wife's favorite, but they have lots of fun combinations worth trying out - not to mention that their regular ol' pizza is really darn good too! A great neighborhood restaurant which is good for either going out with your friends to have a few drinks, or coming with the family. This is possible because they really keep the two areas separate.... the bar and then a dinning area. (of course you can get food and drinks in both areas). What I found striking is the menu as it is versatile; covering a wide range of foods. i would say that it will cater to just about everyone in the group. For our first visit, I got the Philly and my daughter ordered a Pizza. BOTH where outstanding! The wait staff does a real good job in answering your questions and helping out in deciding on what to order if needed. They also make sure that the drinks keep coming and don't give the kids the chance to make slurppie noises made with a straw and an empty glass. So, not only do they have a great wait staff and outstanding food, the prices are very reasonable as well! What a great combination to have in a single place. read more

Hitz did again! The pizza was amazing, no surprise AS IT ALWAYS IS, but the new pot pie soup with a side of garlic bread is the BOMB! I used to love this place, but after tonight, never again!! I ordered a Bird Club, sub cajun chicken. I got a plain grilled chicken breast. Maybe they were busy, fine. Maybe they couldn't accommodate the special request, fine - although I don't see why not, I've ordered it this way before - but call and let your patron know then, don't just be like SURPRISE! Moving on, the menu specifies the toppings as Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon and mayo, with a side of fries and cole slaw. I didn't get my cole slaw, which is a shame, because they make the best, but that's not the main issue here. My sandwich did not have any cheese on it at all, and there were onions on it. Sure, if I didn't like them, I could've just picked them off, except I'm allergic. This was NOT specified as an ingredient on the item I ordered, so I didn't specify my allergy - I trusted in the restaurant to not put it on my sandwich - shame on me I guess. While I understand that restaurants make mistakes, my expectation is that they rectify the situation, and make it right. This did not happen tonight. I first contacted Grubhub, as I placed the order through them, who in turn reached out to Hitz. They returned stating that the restaurant declined refunding the item, because I had special instructions on the order. Seriously?! What about all of the other errors?? Then the restaurant called, and of course I was ticked at this point. So, before he could say anything, I'm like look - enter all of the above - why tf should I have to pay for that?! He comes back at me with a defensive attitude, saying they checked my order and it was right!! EXCEPT IT WASN'T!!! So, I'm like are you kidding me? That's offensive, you're going to argue with a paying customer, and basically call me a liar?? Do you need me to send you a picture as proof? Finally, he's like how do you want it, so we can prepare it correctly. Except at this point I'm livid!! I don't want a replacement, and I want nothing to do with this restaurant. I worked 15 years in the restaurant industry, and I would've been appalled if my employer treated one of my customers in such a manner, especially when there were so many errors. Give me my $9 bucks backs, and do better next time. Now there won't be a next time!! read more

This used to be our place to go on Friday nite for a pizza and beer. And now? Not. I don't know what happened but service went to shit and their pizzas are turning into after with cool, not ice cold beers. Went there again I. Case it was just a bad nite, but no. Toppings are getting scarce on the za and some of the meats seemed on the raw side. Plus they took off the 3 little piggies sandwich that killed it as far as sandwiches go. Great place to watch sports. Lots of TVs and a large menu selection. The food is average and over the years the portions have gotten smaller and pricing has gone up but it's pretty much what you expect from a sports bar. The venue is split into two a restaurant side good for family's and a bar side made for drinking, eating and watching sports. All you can eat pizza night. Do I need to say anything else about this place??? I went here with my sister on a Tuesday to take advantage of this amazing deal. The also have trivia night on Tuesday, so the bar area is crowded but there is a ton of room in the dining area. You can order as many one topping pizzas as you want (one pizza per person at a time). I enjoyed the pepperoni and Italian beef toppings. I wasn't a fan of spinach as a topping. It was bland and tasted like frozen spinach. The all you can eat pizza deal also comes with all you can drink soda. So definitely pass on this place if you are dieting :) read more

Edit my review since they have made lots of changes: The fries used to be amazing, now they are generic frozen things. The burgers are dry. The menu is for some reason very snarky about making substitutions. I used to go to trivia every Tuesday, but they really pack everyone in and with the new menu, I decided to stop. They also took away floor space for a little arcade type area. Pizza is still good and 1/2 price on Monday, but this is no longer the Hitz I knew and loved. Former review: I love going to Hitz, as I can be confident that anything I order will be delicious. Love their thin crust and pan pizzas, tacos, soups, amazing burgers, homemade chips, and even Sunday roast. They have really decent specials each day, so check which one is on before you go. The bar area has nice, new TVs everywhere along with table seating so you don't have to go to a dive bar just to watch the game and have a good meal with friends. I used to come here when they were Kaisers and was SO GLAD to see that they didn't change the recipes! Obviously-the pizza here is stellar. They also have some very good salads (cobb salad is my favorite) and burgers too. I sat at a high-top table in the bar once for lunch and wasn't expecting great wait service from the bartender- but I was wrong! He was very attentive to my table, while manning the bar too.
