I just stopped by this adorable little shop for some treats for my team, then devoured what was by far the most delicious cookie I've ever eaten (salted caramel chocolate chip). I also grabbed some gorgeous cupcakes and am ordering a birthday cake for next month. LOVE this place, am so glad to have them in the community and will be a regular customer going forward. The Oatmeal Cream Pie cookies are the best in the entire world. Love their cinnamon rolls- both regular and vegan. We just ordered the best cake I have ever had. We ordered a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. It was expensive and WORTH EVERY PENNY. The cake was dense chocolate and the frosting was amazing. It tasted like a cross between the most delicious buttercream and whipped cream combined. I wish we lived closer so I could come by more often. This has been a wonderful addition to Flower Mound. The only thing better that is better than their delicious items is their customer service! Always greeted warmly and with a smile from the staff. I am a cupcake connoisseur and I research reviews before I decide where to buy cupcakes. Cupcakes are my religion. I read rave reviews about these cupcakes. I am happy they have a following who adore their cupcakes. However, I do not care for them at all. I ordered 6 different kinds to taste test with my family. We did not like any of them. They are extremely dense and very dry. While I respect the cupcake to frosting ratio, the icing and fillings are way, way too sweet. It made us pucker. Love Hive!! We have been twice on a wknd day for a treat - and they have amazing stuff. They also came in clutch for me when the woman I secured to make my sons bday cake bailed on me last minute. I called Hive the day before the party, and they got it done literally by 10am the next day! The kids at the party loved it (chocolate), and the adults came back for seconds! A friend and I stopped by the hive bakery after lunch on a whim. A wide range of gourmet cupcakes, cookies and bars were on offer. I quickly decided upon the cookie dough cupcake, with its scoop of cookie dough perched atop a cloud of chocolate chip studded buttercream frosting. I expected an airy, super-sweet concoction, but am always intrigued by chocolate chip cookie dough mash ups. What followed will sound a bit overdramatic, but truthfully I was stunned. I usually don't like anyone's frosting, I scrape it off, but I dipped my finger in for a taste of the buttercream and I thought "whoever made this is channeling my soul mate" ( who I believe to be a French pastry chef, that loves to give back rubs). Buttery goodness greeted my tastebuds, studded with very chocolately chocolate chips. I waited to get home to try the rest, and when I did I found that not only was the buttercream rich and buttery, and not too sweet, but there was another scoop of cookie dough in the middle of a super dense moist buttery cake. To date, this was the most perfect cupcake I have ever tasted. Well done Hive! read more

Ordered a Reese's peanut butter cake today for my wife's 30th birthday. On the website it clearly states that it has a chocolate ganache drizzle on top. Opened the box and ours doesn't. I called and made sure that we had the right cake and spoke to Haley the owner. I told her ours doesn't have the drizzle and she says "yeah we changed our design". I told her that we were torn between two cakes and the one that prevailed was in part because of the ganache on top! Her only response was that yeah I guess we have to update our website Lol. Had to take my doggo to the vet hospital down the street so used that as an opportunity to try a new bakery (This one). Wowza! We picked up a variety of goods including a 6pack of cupcakes, Reese's brownie, monster cookie cheesecake bar and three different cookies. All were outstanding! Our cupcake favs were raspberry almond, white chocolate salted caramel and death by chocolate. The flavors are amazing. Saw a couple of reviews that called the cakes "dense". We thought some were closer to pound cake like, but that's not at all a bad thing! Also- the Reeses brownie was unbelievable and weighed about two pounds - they don't skimp on portions!! We will be back as it looks like they change things up daily. On a customer service note- I ordered online and then looked at their Instagram. Saw they were having an Instagram inauguration special on cupcakes and I could've had a six pack for almost the same price as the two I had just bought. Called them up and they happily added 4 more to my box- for free! They've earned our business! read more

Not gonna lie. Most of the ridiculous one star reviews on here are comical at best. No Brenda, you can't order 500 cupcakes last minute. You know good and well that your home baking doesn't taste as good as this bakery. Your not a "cupcake connoisseur ". And stop expecting to have a full menu of bakery items an hour before close. Bonus: Nobody cares that you don't like that a business also participates in social justice. It's totally reminiscent of the demographic of the area this bakery is in. Here is the deal. The best time to go here is right when they open or to order online. Everything is fresh and a lot of items will sell out early. They are creative and do not offer the same things everyday. Especially on Friday and Saturday you will find extra offerings like vegetarian kolaches. They also carry gluten free and keto items in their rotation. My fiancé ordered a cake here for my birthday and it was awesome. It tasted great and I'm not a huge cake fan. Give this bakery a try and if you don't like what you get try it again and get something different. Try it a few times. Give it a fair chance before you write a one star review on a small business that made it through a pandemic. Overall I would recommend this bakery to anyone. I have absolutely loved their creativity and offerings. The sugar cookies alone will make you want to slap your mother. Those that I already have tried it have loved it as well.
