We ordered delivery since we live so close to the restaurant and we drive past it daily. Our order consisted of onion rings, lobster bisque, a beer burger and a cheese burger. The lobster bisque was delivered in styrofoam coffee cup which made it harder to eat. The onion rings were so burnt that the actual ring of onion was almost non-existant. The beer burger was ordered with ketchup on it (an additional charge!!!) and it was forgotten. The burger patty was so over cooked it was black and charred. The burger was over flowing with lettuce to the point where you could hardly eat it. We had ordered extra onion (another additional charge!) and there was hardly any on the sandwich. The cheeseburger was also over cooked and smothered in lettuce. Overall, we won't be ordering again. It was too expensive to be that poorly made. read more

When the food arrived me and my brother were excited but... We put our order in online at 5:30PM and didn't come until 9:00pm. We understood that there was a accident in the area and our food was delayed. We got a call at 7:30 telling that our food would be there in a hour and a half. It took two hours because the delivery guy didn't know where our house was in Brighton. When the delivery guy came we gave him a tip of 3$ even though we gave a tip online. We ordered a -sausage pizza medium with Onions A vegan calzone with spinach French fries (Vegan) Fried dough A brownie Overall the food was really good my brother is vegan so he had the brownie and the calzone myself had my sausage pizza, it was extremely delicious but I thought it was a little small. My brother said the calzone was a 6/10 my sausage pizza was a 9/10 and the deserts were absolute Bomb! They were so good. We called at 9:20 to see why are food wasn't here and a guy named frank explained that he was so sorry and he will give us free deserts next time. Overall the food was pretty good. Nice little place on Scottsville rd right before the jefferson rd intersection. They have a few tables to sit at . Staff was friendly. Tried the fish fry and loved the fish! Had amazing crunch on it, fries were pretty good but I was't a fan of the coleslaw. It was missing that semi sweet factor to it. I'd definitely check them out again though. :) read more

2nd visit for Hoagies and I was not disappointed. Had a slice of pizza and a large steak sub. Brought two coworkers and all were very pleased. Large sub had peppers, onions, cheese and horseradish. Again the meat tasted very fresh and the sub was well made and delicious. See photo. Previous 4 star rating was because first visit sub was not toasted (personal preference and I did not request it). Brand new. Clean and friendly. A great menu of subs, hoagies (go figure) wraps, salads, pizza, calzones. There are two tables inside, but it's a little crowded, several nice tables outside if the Rochester weather is cooperating. The menu's written on the walls with chalk, but it's your typical deli/pizza fare. Since it's brand new, everything is spanking new and looks great. Friendly service with an attention to detail. I got a Salami Sub. The bread tasted yummy and did not appear to be from any outside source. Assembled nicely and tasted great. I also got a Mac Salad. I am bit of a mac salad freak, and I loved theirs. I'd driven past this place many times out on errands around Henrietta/Rochester, when yesterday my curiosity reached its breaking point. All by itself on this stretch of Scottsville Road, I wanted to know what brought them to choose this location and whether the food was as good as I figured it had to be. The place is right next to Jack Greco Furniture (there is no affiliation with Hoagies other than proximity) and has a separate larger building for dining indoors just behind the main building which is too small to seat more than maybe ten guests at a few tables. Owner and sweetheart "Mama D" works in the kitchen where they make homemade meatballs and pulled pork as well as some wonderful smelling baked goods. "Mama D" was happy to answer my questions about the place and was quite friendly. After some small talk, I was told the Philly Cheese steak was a bestseller, so I decided to try that for my first visit. The steak was moist and flavorful and the peppers and onions were ample. I prefer my hot subs toasted and they apparently do not do this by default so if you are like me you'll want to request your sub be toasted when you order. Overall, the quality of the sub was excellent and I enjoyed my visit. I will be returning to try their homemade meatball sub soon. This is the first place with real food in the RIT area that is open late. It's a mom and pop shop and they honestly make delicious sandwiches. They accept tiger bucks, which is a big plus for me. Decided to order from this place for the first time today. Ordered delivery and received it over an hour and a half later (max 2 miles away). Pizza looked like it had been sitting out for awhile and was unappealing to taste as well. Medium boneless wings were alright but easily mistaken for mild and fried pickles were alright but again appeared to be cooked much earlier. Won't be reordering after trying to place grubhub order today. "Tuesday special" clearly says lettuce, tomato, and your choice of dressing. When I went in they had "adjusted" what i payed and extra $3.46. The lady said something about toppings extra $0.80 but that doesn't make sense when we added black olives, onion, and sweet peppers. Basically if you order the cold subs, its just meat and bread. does not come with toppings advertised or cheese, and if you add toppings itll cost you an extra meal. There is no way to add these other than in special instructions, so beware that each topping will be $1.12 or they probably don't even realize lettuce and tomato are on the item description. Its so intuitive to use grubhub its weird they either can't figure it out or won't spend the time to actually put their menu on it. read more

Would love to give this a better review for our first time ordering, but when calling, we were told we could not pay by card over the phone and had to order online or through GrubHub. Well, went into their website, put in all information for order and card info, and was told store was closed so could not place order. Mind you we just called and they said open until 4am... It says 11pm they open on the website so we could not order through their site because it was only 10:30pm. Had to go on grub hub. Ordered grub hub from them twice. First time food was alright. Decent steak sub and chicken wings. But delivery took almost 2 hours. That's a bit much no matter how busy or what time it was (Sunday at 7 for this expeirence). Second time delivery time was more reasonable at just under an hour (weekday at 1p) but the pizza was aweful. Crust was stale and dry. Cheese was sparse and not fresh. Apparently the order didn't show the wings... so from a customer service standpoint you see an order with blue cheese milk shake and a 2 litter the blue cheese alone should raise a red flag where you would call the customer to confirm the order. Stopped here after a nice bike ride. Greeted with an amazing smile and cheerfulness. I didn't see what I wanted on the menu and the women was so kind that she said they would make anything I wanted. The grilled chicken wrap was excellent. My friend had the cheeseburger with fries. He said it was very good and I had some of his fries which were nice and crispy. Read the other reviews of the pizza and they must not have been to Hoagies. Pizza was great and the wings were awesome. Tried the Pulled Pork Sub all I can say is I had it for lunch and dinner. Tried Mama D's new HOT Sauce. I love hot sauce that is HOT and has Flavor and this has it. Also heard a rumor that they are going to be coming out with a Pretzel crust for the pizza, that will be a must try. Honestly I wasn't expecting much more than warm food and I couldn't even get that. When I called to complain about my food taking an hour and thirty five minutes rather than an hour, I was informed that it was grubhubs fault for not adjusting their quote times. I told the women on the phone I understood that weather would effect delivery time however my food arrived cold and my Mac bites were burnt. She then began to fight with me on the phone saying there was no way they were burnt because she made the food and I must just think they "look" burnt. After five minutes of arguing she transferred me to a manager. I was awfully confused when Frank answered the phone with an even worse attitude than his employee. He seemed not to care that he had an employee fighting with a customer and was no help to the situation at all. In the end he offered to send me something free next time I ordered because it would be more convenient for him to do rather than refund my money. Super unhappy with them as a whole. Antiquated website with inaccurate pricing. They failed to mention the delivery fee was 2x the amount listed on the website (because I'm not a college student) but luckily that's why they have a fine print disclaimer that prices are subject to change! I am not sure if anyone will even care about my complaint, since it appears this place is run by kids that have no idea about customer service at all, but I needed to at least voice my complaint. My husband and I have ordered food through Grubhub from your place several times. Last night, I decided to order directly through your website. We got a small order of wings, an order of poutine, boneless wings, fried pickles, and a burger. I got my confirmation e-mail at 10:28pm. At 11:07, I got a phone call that they were out of gravy and did we want cheesy bacon fries instead. To which I said that was fine. (Now please keep in mind that I had worked all day starting at 8:30am, then I had one of my college classes until almost 9pm. I hadn't eaten all day by the time I placed the order for food. I also had to be up at 6am for another college interview.) At 11:49pm the food was still not there so I called. I said "Hi. I placed an order over an hour and half ago and it's still not here." They asked me my address, then I get the response "Oh, yea, he's leaving right now." I said "He's just now leaving??" Obviously irritated at this point, and they said "yep." And that was it. Not an apology, or any type of response to the fact that once we will have gotten our food (that we spent nearly $50 on), close to 2 hours will have passed. At this point, since it was nearly midnight, I went to bed and left the money with my husband. I heard them knock on my door at about 12:10am. This morning I asked my husband how everything went and he said that the delivery guy did apologize but that when opened the containers everything was cold. He had to microwave his food it was so cold. I brought my food to work today and put it in the microwave for a whopping 90 seconds and it's so hard I can't even get a fork through the chicken. I don't know what the heck happened over there, but I am completely turned off, and where I once recommended your business to people, I will no longer. Zero customer service. Zero concern for the money that we spent, just awful all the way around.
