A couple months ago the wife and I were bored and decided to take an impromptu trip to Naples... took the drive across Alligator Alley, took a nice hike/stroll through Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary (surprisingly hot but nice), visited some great restaurants over the next 48 hours;AND NOW, it's time to pack up our bags, grab lunch and drive back to the east coast.... My wife wanted to make sure our last meal stands out, since we had such great meals so far... she showed me HOGFISH HARRY'S online and was convinced this is the place we need to be. Driving into the community where Hogfish Harry's is located, weren't completely sure we found the right area; after all, it's not on a main road or in a retail plaza and there is no other businesses around, just residential communities. Turns out the restaurant is located on an island within a residential community and overlooks the community pool, which is very nice with a lot of lush landscape built up on a hill side. It feels like this building was once their clubhouse but this is unique and has a great atmosphere. Along the lake that surrounds the restaurant and pool is plenty of beautiful landscaping and nice pedestrian bridges. The decor and atmosphere is very Key West vibe... coincidently there is a Hogfish Harry in Key West but it is not related to this gem. We had a great server that made great conversation, excellent menu suggestions and was on top of filling our drinks before we ever had to ask. We shared an order of PEI MUSSELS (in a tomato and garlic broth with some chorizo and served with some herb focaccia bread for dipping). Our appetizer was absolutely delicious... Afterwards we ordered sandwiches, My wife ordered their BLACKENED GULF GROUPER SANDWICH and loved it. You can also have it grilled or fried, if blackened isn't your thing, and it's served on a brioche bun with lemon caper tartar sauce on the side. Surprisingly, my wife got asparagus instead of fries. I went for their MAHI-MAHI NEUBEN SANDWICH and I had a grin from ear-to-ear... nice piece of Mahi-Mahi with swiss cheese, coleslaw and thousand island dressing on marble rye bread... And served with french fries. Since my wife didn't use the lemon caper tartar, I decided to dip my fries in them (quite good). And it was then that I realized whey the wife didn't order fries; she picked at mine and got to enjoy some asparagus at the same time. As we walked off the island, we noticed a front office and we inquired about this place... turns out the community surrounding the island/pool/restaurant is a rental resort called Park Shore Resort Rentals (may even consider staying here in the future). read more

Food was a strong 9 Service was a 10 Ambiance a 10 My husband and I were in Naples for the day, just took a drive up from South Florida the morning of our 9th wedding anniversary . The food was great and so was the service. Very friendly and knowledgeable. The ambiance was very bohemian chic and relaxed. After spending the morning at the State Park Beach, we decided to pop into Hogfish Harry's after a quick search; this was our first visit. We had a fe things: 1) the fried hogfish sandwich (10) It was delicious (crispy, flaky, flavorful). We added the house salad (10) instead of the fries 2) the grilled chicken club sandwich was also really flavorful and the fries that came with it were a 10 (crispy fresh tasty). 3) For appetizers we had the coconut shrimp (10) and the crispy wings (9). Both were excellent. I would say the wings could have been fried a little bit longer; while they were cooked through and tasty. They just weren't crispy 4)pineapple upside down cake 20/10. Just delicious, only wish it was a bigger portion. Overall, this place is a strong 9 for us and we will be back the next time we are in Tampa. read more

Fun place, absolutely weird location. Is it a residence, a hotel? I'm not sure, but I needed to get out of the car to read the sign that said the restaurant was through the lobby. Walking there you cross a bridge and if you look on a map it makes sense. Going through the doors of the place it feels more like you are in the Keys than in Naples. Of course with the name of the place and me not knowing what exactly a Hogfish was I had to try the Spiced Hogfish - Coconut Lemongrass Jasmine Rice / Haricot Verts / Pineapple Ginger Butter. I had a wonderful day in Naples, and the highlight was definitely my visit to Hogfish Harry's. I tried hogfish for the first time--and wow, it was delicious! Light, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Their salad was also fresh and satisfying, making the whole meal a memorable one. The ambiance added so much to the experience. Set within a hotel, the restaurant has a relaxed vacation vibe, complete with a serene lake view, a beautiful red bridge, and a poolside setting that felt like a hidden retreat. Ok, the reason why I gave it 4 stars was because the ambience isn't quite there. We were hoping to hit the bar for happy hour, which we were there about 3:30 and it was full up. We decided to just get our table since we had reservations for 4:00. We were seated at a very nice table when it started to drizzle. Unfortunately we had to sit outside along a covered patio that butted up against the pool area. Meh, okay but do I want to hear kids yelling in the background? The inside is nice but loud and it's hopping. All said, if you are going for an outstanding meal then this is the place. If you're going for ambience and an outstanding meal move on. We started with an old fashion for me and a beer for my husband. Old fashion was delicious. We ordered fried green tomatoes which were the best we've ever had. Definitely order those when you go. We both ordered the hogfish entree which was the best prepared fish we've tasted. We've never had this type of fish and wanted to try it. Awesome! The meal was outstanding, would I go back? I love this quaint little hideaway! I don't know how my friends found Hogfish Harry's because it's not an easy place to find. It's in the middle of a condominium complex but it's definitely worth a little detective work. We all had the lobster rolls and they were delicious big chunks of lobster. Prices are reasonable. Things started off well, but once we placed our order, our server and her trainee spent a lot of time standing around talking with another worker rather than checking on us or their other table. Considering it was between 2-4 (a slower time) and she only had two tables, we expected a bit more attentiveness. On the positive side, the gentleman running the place was very kind, welcoming and interactive.. which we really appreciated. Came to Hogfish Harry's for a late dinner after a very long day of traveling. The service was amazing, they did a phenomenal job at communicating with us to ensure we got our meal in time before the kitchen closed and that our meal tasted great. I got the PEI mussels, which were absolutely delicious. I don't usually go for a tomato based broth but this shocked me, it was that good. It came with this beautiful focaccia bread that was gone within seconds. Plus we met the kindest people, who told us to give them our forks so we could try their key lime pie! Food, on the whole is good. Fried calamari with sweet and hot peppers was delicious, as well as the Brussel sprouts. Hogfish blackened or fried is a favorite. I deviated the other night and had the lobster roll. This was a big miss because for some insane reason there is Cole slaw on the sandwich. The Cole slaw overpowered the delicate flavor and sweetness of the lobster. I thought I was eating a Cole slaw sandwich. Do not waste your time on the lobster roll. Restaurant is a bit difficult to locate as it's in the middle of a hotel/resort, but the atmosphere is beautiful and everything is clean and well-presented. Our hostess, Summer, was super sweet and able to get out every dish for our party of nine within an hour so we could leave for the airport. I wasn't very hungry, and not a fan of seafood, so I ordered the kids mac and cheese with fruit - it was delicious, but the parmesan on top caused it to be too salty. No complaints except for the salt! I would not come back simply because, again, I don't like seafood, but it would be a delight for anyone that does! The entire family is satisfied :) read more

I wish I had a better experience- I came here based on other reviews and the many items on the menu that stood out to me. It was a very busy night and as a solo diner, I chose to sit at the bar. Those bartenders were working like crazy! They were so busy and trying so hard to keep up, they should've had help. A bar back, someone running the service bar, anything would have been helpful. As a diner, I saw stacked up dirty dishes, dirty glasses, and the most egregious thing was a server, putting his fingers in dirty wine carafes and handing them to the bartender to reuse for table service because the glassware was so backed up, waiting to be cleaned. It was very hard to enjoy my meal with all of this going on around me. and $63 for coconut shrimp, hard rice, cold green beans and a subpar drink is excessive. The place is surrounded by a small pond and the pool of a resort, with lots of landscape, ducks and herons. When you cross a wooden bridge you reach this hidden gem. All the staff is super friendly and the food is great. We had the baby back ribs and it was a big and tasty plate. We will try the hogfish on another occasion!!!!! We went for happy hour with friends. I have NEVER encountered such rude staff in my life! From the two hostesses outside to the wait staff and others we were treated with absolute disdain - maybe because we were early birds. We live here year round and often host visitors; we will not be taking any of them to this place! We had to pay for one extra piece of bread to mop up remaining sauce, just to rub salt in the wound. This spot is away from the crowds , which I love. The ambiance is quaint and modern with inside and outdoor seating. There is a waterfall in the distance and what feels like Asian gardens with small bridges that cross small rivers with a ton of adorable turtles. Hogfish eat crabs and therefore taste like crabs. It is light and delicate and the sauce they have surrounding the rice and fish is AMAZING!! Our waiter was very friendly and very knowledgeable on celiac disease. This restaurant is tucked away by the pool in the center of vacation rental condo buildings. But, don't let that deter you from going. There is valet parking available but you can also park on the west side of the condo parking lot. Look for the Hogfish signage. This review is from 2 visits we made while visiting Naples. Both nights we sat at the bar. While the place seemed busy there were tables available. I'm sure reservations are needed during the season. On our first visit we tried the PEI mussels and the fried grouper sandwich. We fish and eat fish often. My husband declared it THE BEST grouper sandwich he ever had! The French fries were also crispy and hot. The mussels were also very good and came in a tomato, garlic, chorizo sauce. We usually consider service at the bar very good but on both occasions we had to continually flag down the bartender to request refills of water and adult drinks. The second evening we ordered fried calamari, maple Brussels sprouts, the soup of the day and bayou shrimp. The calamari comes in an orange sauce that, while tasty, makes the calamari a little soggy. The Brussels sprouts are overwhelming sweet and if you don't eat them quickly they are stuck n the hardened syrup. The cup of tomato bisque soup is thick and flavorful. The bayou shrimp were a nice size and cooked perfectly. The sauce was not as flavorful as the real Louisiana BBQ shrimp but still ok. My husband and I agreed that that better bread and rolls would have enhanced the sandwiches, soup and shrimp. The rolls taste like typical bland diner bread not something that should be served with these good eats. Go for the grouper sandwich! read more

This restaurant continues to be one of the best in Naples which is why it is always packed! I had scallops here for a second time because they were that good, and everyone I know loves their Hogfish sandwich. Also their fried green tomatoes are super delicious! I would suggest that they have a better beet selection for those that want beer, there were only two options on the menu, but that won't stop me from eating here again and again!
