I was super impressed by how much flavor everything had! The rice and beans were delicious, and I really Enjoyed the tinga chicken taco. The birria Taco was good, but you really needed the consume to make it flavorful. Queso was good (make sure to mix it) and the guac was the best part for me. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5, was obviously because they have "cerveza" plastered everywhere but don't actually serve alcohol, and the bathroom situation is a little off. There is a house located next to the lot that Hola is in, a worker must walk you to the house (yes regular house) next door, unlock the house, then you go upstairs in this house and use the restroom. It's a bit creepy, not saying Lakewood is THAT dangerous, but being alone in a house you're not familiar with.. weird situation. Hope they end up building their own bathrooms in lot! Will be back. Definite let down. I read a few reviews claiming this restaurant to have "the best birria tacos in all of Ohio" but was deeply disappointed. The food looked amazing however, the birria meat was tough and chewy. Certainly seems as if it was a very cheap cut like an eye round or something. The meat lacked flavor and seasoning as it was too bland lacking adequate salt, spice, and fatty richness that I crave from traditional birria tacos. I've personally had amazing birria in Chicago and San Diego to name a few and those experiences are far superior and don't even come close to what I tasted today. The consomé was very bland and lacked the rich fattiness derived from the beef. My speculation is that a very cheap cut of meat was used based on its lack of tenderness and flavor which drags the overall flavor profile of the consomé with it. The servers were friendly so 5/5 for them. However, each birria taco was priced at $4.50 and was simply not worth it. The carne asada taco was also subpar in flavor since it lacked spice / salt. Perhaps I may give this place another try some other time. The spicy red chili salsa wish came included with my order however, was the highlight of this meal. The green salsa was also very delicious. I was so very excited to try this place, finally made it after moving to Lakewood from downtown. If I could do 3.5 stars I would. I don't feel like it's quite that bad to only put it at 3 stars. This spot is carry out and an outdoor patio and it is BYOB which is kind of nice because you save money on booze, but I would like to have the option of ordering a margarita or mojito there. But I understand that a liquor license is expensive and this is more of a taco stand vibe, so I'll just have to make some ahead of time! The hot sauce was also yummy and the avocado crema. I do think it's quite odd that they bring you Tostadas that you have to break up yourself, I wish they would just make chips. I had the al pastor and one of their fried braised beef tacos. I loved the Al Pastor and the pineapple salsa that came on it that one was a 10/10 for me. I also enjoyed the fried one that's their "signature" taco, but my boyfriend ordered 3 of them and they were a wet greasy mess and they were falling apart and they made his stomach hurt afterward. Tried Hola Tacos after a friend recommended me try their Birria tacos. I was pleasantly surprised. Ordered the chicken birrias and the beef birrias. They were delicious! It was so refreshing to call in to make a reservation and to be treated with such kindness. It didn't stop there! The exterior along with the interior are bright and cheery, even on a rainy day you feel transported to somewhere warm. I don't know what was better, the food or Victor are server. To say he is amazing is a total understatement. This place is a must visit! I went with my family for my daughter's third birthday, but I would go with friends too. Love this new taco spot in Lakewood!! First off it's BYOB so you can bring your own drinks and sit on their adorable patio while enjoying some amazing food. My friends and I brought a bottle of sangria to share and had the best time. FOOD: first off I love that they bring chips and salsa as soon as you sit. The salsa was delicious also. We ordered the guac as an appetizer and it was some of the best I've ever had topped with jalapeños and onions. For tacos I ordered the al pastor and the chicken tings. The al pastor was tasty but a little smaller than the other tacos. The chicken tinga was my favorite because it had so much flavor. Hola has officially opened and based on my first experience I'd say they are A-Okay. Looking forward to trying them out again in a couple months after they improve a bit more and get their flow going. So here are the details. I arrived around 5:30pm during the week and scored one of the 5 parking spots on site. Otherwise you'll need to find street parking. There were two friendly guys outside ready to take my walk up order. You can wait there next to the counter by some heaters or you can sit in your car and they will bring your to-go to you. Again, friendly and helpful staff. For food I went with the mix and max taco option where tacos are $4.25 each. I think the price is a little high, but I still bought them. I went with the al pastor/pork, chicken tinga/chicken, and the birriacoa/beef tacos (total $12.75). I also got sides of rice $2, refried beans $1.50, and the esquite/corn $5. For the tacos I thought the chicken was dry and it appeared to be missing the pickled onion & habanero salsa and queso fresco. The pork was hard and dry and it was on a smaller tortilla shell than the other tacos. The beef was the best of the three tacos that I tried. For the sides I thought the refried beans and rice were too salty and I did not finish either of these. I don't put salt on anything though so it comes on strong to me, but it might be just fine tasting to others. The corn was very tasty and I would definitely get this again. For sauces I liked them all, you've got a spicy one, an avocado cream, and sour cream. These were definitely needed for the dry meat I was served. Their soft opening menu had different items on it that are no longer offered (like molletes, birrias de res, and the quesadilla). I was told this was because they do not have the space to make them but might do so in the future if they get another grill top. All in all not a bad visit, there are just several places you can stop for good tacos on the west side so they need to be on top of their game if they want repeat customers. I will give them another try, but at this point in time I've had better tacos elsewhere. Their mother restaurant, Barroco, is tasty so hopefully Hola will get on that quality/tasty level soon enough. read more

I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The outdoor seating and overhead music is lovely. Your meal starts with a whole corn shell and a sauce. I wouldn't call the sauce salsa.. it was note like a marinara. There is no alcohol on the menu. I had the carna asada. It was okay, not the vest I've ever had. The tortillas for my carna were hard in some spots, but the meat had good flavor. We ordered guacamole which comes with a side of full, baked tortilla shells as chips which is an interesting idea and this is the guac that is whipped up smooth which to me is perfect, I hate chunky guac. Outdoor seating only and BYOB at this location but a fun experience. I got a few tacos. The Birria is their famous taco with braised beef, but I found it very greasy and didn't finish it actually. I also got the Al Pastor taco and the Chicken Tinga taco. The flavors on both of these were good and they were stuffed really full of meat and toppings. If anything, I found them a bit dry though. Next time I go I'll get the burrito. Someone else at my table got it and it was a huge serving. They had a long list of popsicles for dessert which were seemingly homemade as they were served in short little plastic cups with traditional wooden popsicle sticks stuck in them. We wanted to try a new Mexican place and chose Hola. First of all, 90% of their seating is outside. Although the food wad pretty good, not outstanding, it was vastly overpriced. Everything is a la cart. If you want to walk out with a full belly, it's going to cost you. The two of us paid close to seventy bucks for two margaritas and tacos with a couple of sides. Can't remember what it was called but it had rice and refried beans on it. It was delicious! Of the times I have been there the food was super fresh and served hot. We went there on a weeknight and sat on the patio, servers were super friendly and we had a good conversation with ours about motorcycles and Puerto Rico No liquor license (yet) but they had a selection of glass bottle pop that was just as refreshing. Let me start off by saying I have always yelled that La Plaza has the best Tacos & Quesadillas in Ohio & no one could change my mind. I've ate here twice since opening. I love the layout and the setting of this place because it's nice for the summer time. First time I ordered tacos, the Chicken tinga was good. I also got Al pastor too. But pastor had too much fat on it. Making it chewy and no meat to eat. This is the biggest disappointment for me. Because I've also experienced this at La plaza three times. Growing up Mexican that's not how we sever our meat with so much fat if your a good cook. I also tried a side of Mexican rice. It's not real Mexican rice. No flavor and half cooked.
