Delicious breakfast spot! We were so pleased to find this breakfast place and we'll definitely be back. We had to wait about 20-30 minutes for a table, but it was worth it. While we were waiting my husband went up to the counter and ordered an iced mocha. We had it was okay, a little too bland for this liking. For breakfast I ordered the California Benedict (with over hard eggs), my husband ordered the 2x2x2 and we split a side of biscuits and gravy. Everything was delicious! My benedict came on this super delicious & fresh focaccia bread. I recommended ordering it with the bread not toasted, this really showcased how fresh the bread was. The biscuits were also delicious and the sausage gravy was perfect. My husband loved his simple breakfast of eggs, bacon & pancakes and especially loved the blueberry pancakes. It took a very long time to finally receive our bill when we were finished - but other than that it was an excellent meal & we can't wait to go back! read more

Excellent food- no question but would advise in the high season on a Sunday in my experience to get there early in order to get a table for a large party. A member of our group went ahead to wait for a table at 7.20 am on a Sunday in late August for breakfast. She was given the magic buzzing flashing device which eventually went off and we were seated eventually at 9.05 am !!! Our order was then taken at 9.30 am Great food and the wait staff were very good and attentive and smaller parties were getting tables quicker just tough on large families and groups. read more

we are a family of 4, excitedly & hungrily came to the hole in one this past Sunday morning 8/20/2023 for breakfast at the Orleans location. we were looking forward to the drinks and great looking food as we'd done our research on instagram & read reviews online. immediately i was impressed as The coffee was really outstanding and it seemed that even though there was a line they were well organized & kept everyone moving along & you got your drinks immediately! you wait outside for them to bring out your food, with the tip bucket next to the register inside so you have to tip ahead before you've even gotten your food or had any kind of positive or negative service. We went outside to wait for our food, it was a good 30-40 minutes until it came out. They use a system of calling out first names & as we were waiting, we had been discussing a number system would probably work better, as we've seen it work well in our hometown. So we were aware of our timing, sitting & seeing when those around us arrived, so we do have to contribute part of the blame to the other party waiting who arrived ten minutes after us, that were unaware of their surroundings or how to interact with other people or hear them. A young man came out with a tray of food, mumbled a name & we called out KNOWING it was ours due to the timing. But he proceeded to their table as they called out, waving their hand having NOT HEARD THE NAME he mumbled !!! We watched with our mouths open in between calling out to them that the food was ours, he proceeded to pass along all of the food as they all opened each container shaking heads, passing it back & forth to each other as he kept trying to give it to them, not "hearing" us tell him it's ours! A Suggestion to owners would be that the food runner MUST SPEAK loud and clear which is definitely needed NOT someone RUDE, socially inept, timid or shy - mumbling a name! And When they finally were done touching all of our food & breathing on it, he turned around to bring us the tray! instead of apologizing when we said we were trying to tell you that was our food he said "dude it's not my fault! What do you want me to do bring it back and get you a new order?" & I said to him if we hadn't waited 40 minutes for the food, YES, ABSOLUTELY, but knowing that it will take that much longer to get our food, we said no we'll have to take it. but really??!! DO SOMETHING AT THAT POINT, go inside & tell someone ! His RUDE, unapologetic, miserable attitude made me want to go inside and find the manager or owner, but my family persuaded me not to. Food here is OUTSTANDING - if you can get past the ridiculous front end shenanigans. The first day (yeah, we went twice because the food was THAT good) I had the corn beef hash benedict and the boyfriend had the corn beef hash meal. Both were outstanding! They let me pair the potato pancaked with mine and I couldn't have been happier! They were a bit puffier than what my gram makes, but I loved it! They were crunchy and full of flavor. The second day I had the biscuits and gravy - wow! So much flavor!!! The boyfriend had a traditional eggs, bacon, toast breakfast but kept stealing mine. He had major breakfast envy. On our way out we stopped to grab some donuts. I picked the apricot shortbread bar - HOLY COW IT WAS SO GOOD!!! The boyfriend picked out a couple of donuts that he snacked on through the next couple of days and liked those as well. The front end - sheesh. I don't get it. You walk into a very small front area and there's no one standing there but a bunch of people trying to put their names in (same story for both trips). The hostess comes back from where ever it is she disappeared to, calls out one name and walks away. This is without greeting anyone new or putting any more names down. She then disappears for another 10 or more minutes. Not cool on regular day but especially not cool on a busy day. There were easily 5-7 groups trying to put their names in at once. It's almost like they wait for an entire area of the restaurant to clear before seating more people. The hostess from our first day was the same woman who helped us with donuts on the second day. She didn't seem to understand much of what we were saying because we kept having to repeat ourselves. For example, I ordered a raspberry iced coffee with cream and sugar. She looked very confused when she went to make it but came back a few seconds later with the cup. There wasn't any cream in it so I asked if she had put cream and sugar in. She came back with a funny look on her face and as soon as I walked outside and took a sip I knew why. She made raspberry iced tea with cream and sugar - LOTS of sugar. Visited here two days in a row for breakfast on a weekend and loved every bite! First off this place gets packed if you do not get there before 7am so make sure to make it a point to get there before the line starts forming outside. You can visit here for the homemade hand cut donuts and fresh coffee, or you can sit down and eat one of their creative concoctions from delicious potato pancakes to all sorts of eggs Benedict and omelettes and egg dishes. The staff is quick and friendly and the place has two level seating and is kid friendly. Prices are decent and it is worth the visit! read more

Forgive me for this review. But it was painful to watch not once but twice how your staff handle a couple of man, maybe in their late 80's who walked straight to a table and sat down. I am fully aware that a waiting list is in place for everyone who wants to have breakfast here. However you can totally tell that this two gentleman were unaware of how he system works and they just wanted to seat down and eat. They were not a couple of teenagers trying to cut corners. They are just two old man trying to enjoy each other's company. I was so sad to see how twice they were rejected and escorted out in front of everyone, their expressions were so sad, they couldn't understand what and why was this happening. I understand there are processes in place and in order to have a flow you have to follow them, but in SERVICE it is mandatory to have common sense and understand when there is an exception to the rule. Breakfast was ruined for the 7 people who was in my party and who had to witness this. Managment here is what you need to do: You have very friendly staff who is eager to to the right thing. TRAIN them! The way hey handle this was a reflection of their lack of experience, teach them about curve balls... What makes us great as an establishment and what builds our reputation as a honorable business is how we handle curve balls and address this type of situations. These two gentleman could have been your grandfather! At least have an adult with experience guide them if they do not know what to do and how to handle a difficult situation. Pretty simple. Came here for my bachelorette brunch. I'm from the cape so I know how busy these brunch spots can be. Seeing a line out the door must be a good sign. Oh how wrong we were. After an hour waiting, one of my bridesmaids took over the host stand- because the hostess disappeared for over 15 minutes. My bridesmaid took other guests info down on the list and my remaining bridesmaids scoped out tables that needed to be bussed and got customers on a more accurate wait. When the hostess returned my bridesmaid instructed her what to do next. AND THE WOMAN LAUGHED AND WENT ALONG. There was no management present and that much was obvious. The servers working had no idea what they were doing and had no leadership to guide them. Another party was there for his wife's birthday. Other guests clapped and cheered when we got them seats and we even got high fives when WE finally got a table- 1 1/2 hours after arrival. Sit down and we're given complimentary donuts for our wait. And it took another twenty minutes to get our food order taken. Another 25 to receive said food. Not once did our server check on us after the food was dropped. We had to walk to the server station to pay for our check. The service was appalling and the food was mediocre. If we were in a happy go lucky mod we would have left way before. We paid for the birthday guests meals and the servers acted like it was a crime. Absolutely insane. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I am almost unable to write this review as I have never had an experience quite like the one I had here. Let me start by saying the food was good. And our 1st of 2 visits was perfect. But its the second visit I am writing about, and unfortunately, the merits of the 1st visit will get washed away by the sins of the second. Let's start the adventure. To begin with. On our first visit, it was packed, yet we were cheerfully seated with a declared 10 minute wait, which was accurate. great! But, on the second visit, the place was only 3/4 full, there was NO ONE waiting and I peeked at the waiting list and it was BLANK. So my wife and I felt assured we would be seated at a table right away. This hope would soon be stomped on as the young woman who approached us confidently said it would be 15 to 20 minutes. WHAT? ridiculous! This was obviously a ploy to disarm us psychologically for what was coming. So, instead of waiting this mythical "15 to 20 minutes", we decided to sit at the bar. "Sit" being the operative word, as the touchstone of our visit would be the round stools at the bar. We sat near the back edge and I noted that the last 2 stools(of which we were seated at 2 of them) were smaller than the rest. This was especially noticed by my wife who found the child-sized stool she was sitting on very uncomfortable. So, I remarked in a passing fashion to our waitress about the size difference, and while my ears were preparing to hear her say " yes they are", instead, the logic side of my brain was jolted by her actual response "no they are not". WHAT?, so I asked again, this time using my hands to demarcate the beginning and ends of the stool's differing circumferences. She again balked, exclaiming that they were in fact identical in circumference and further squawked that she didn't care to argue the issue. I sat there in front of my food dumbfounded. Was this simply an error in visual ballistics on her part, was it an optical illusion(a feature not advertised at the door),OR as I finally decided, was it an intentional psychological mind-scramble being executed by the staff for some devious reasons. As I was pondering how deep this mental conspiracy went, I noticed the man seated next to me (also in a small stool) had a dirty spoon, ( I knew this because I had previously switched the spoon which was originally mine, with his), I decided to be a good neighbor and inform him that they had tried to pass off unwashed utensils on him. He was appreciative and told our waitress, she apologized and started to replace his spoon with a clean one, when.....he ..... declined! Stating he has no use for a spoon!!!!! How did this misfire connect with the stool radius and the overstated waiting time? Was I sitting in the middle of a flawless performance of an evil cognitive symphony? YES. And I feel like I live in a larger, colder world because of it. read more

I've been searching for a good coffee shop on the Cape for awhile - nothing against Dunkins (not ubiquitous on route 6 anyway, believe it or not), but when I go elsewhere I like to sample the local flavor. Based on a hot tip from a local, we checked out Hole-in-One for our morning pastry and coffee needs while staying on the Outer Cape. In general I'm not big on donuts or muffins at breakfast, I'd say I am in the mood for a pastry-centric breakfast usually twice a year or so, and when I am, I am not about to mess around with preservative-laden, mass-produced inferior product. Well. I will refrain from making any golf-based puns that the establishment's name is making so easy for me, but let me just tell you that I willingly stood in the line that snakes out the door two mornings in a row in order to get my Hole-in-One fix. There is a mind-bending selection of donuts, muffins, bagels and other goodies, and everything I tried was fresh and delicious and perfect. They get major points for having wonderful and not-overly-expensive iced coffee and even major-er points for the speed and friendliness of their service-- I know it cannot be easy to serve so many jerks on vacation with a smile. But then again, there's something about the place that makes you smile back. It's a classic mom & pop joint, and don't let the length of the line scare you off-- it moves quickly, and the sour cream donuts and cinnamon chip muffins (just to name a few) are worth the wait. read more

Hole in One? More like triple bogey. We frequent the Eastham location and were in the area so we decided to try out the Orleans one. Might as well be North and South Korea. We noticed a sample basket on the counter and decided to give the donuts a try. Immediately upon reaching into the basket we were visually attacked by Judge Judy behind the counter. If you want samples, stick to Sarku Japan. We ordered coffees and were ganged up on by the cashier and a nosey barista on a power trip because we didn't pay all together. This place ruined our morning and possibly the entire weekend. We were going to stay for breakfast but couldn't support such blatantly abusive lack of customer service. If I could give no stars I would! The service at the hole in one is awful! Starting with the hostess, told us it would be 30 min, 45 mins went by asked again she said 5 more mins then 20 mins went by I went back and said hey it's been an hour and 20 mins how much longer and she said it is what it is. After waiting an hour and half we ended up just getting in line for take out! Still never heard our name called. Even in the take out line the service still sucked I asked for a large hot coffee and a lg iced mocha I got a lg iced coffee and a lg hot mocha ! After I got the coffees I ordered two egg and cheeses on everything bagels and a cinnamon doughnut he rang me up I paid and then asked for the doughnut and he was like oh you wanted a doughnut to???!!! I was so frustrated after paying with a card I just told him I would pay cash for it because he never put the doughnut on that order. Meanwhile there is a women behind the counter worried about the door being open rather than making sure customers where getting the right orders done. The door was open because people are waiting in line for food!! So all in all the service SUCKS at this location in Orleans I will never ever be back to their establishment!!! read more

I'd like to give more like 3.5 stars. This is a nice little cape cod breakfast place with a classic menu and something for everyone (even those who are gluten free, vegetarian, etc) . Waitstaff was very nice and personable. The hostess, however, was a bit difficult to deal with. She seemed pained to be doing her job and didn't have much interest in whether people stayed or left. Efficiency seemed to be an issue all around ... as someone who works in the service industry, communication seemed to be lacking a bit. Also the set up of the dining room was very odd. We sat in the upstairs area where they easily could have put two more tables and cut down on the wait time significantly. Overall, it was alright. Don't be offended if the hostess is rude to you.. she seems to be that way to everyone. Kind waitstaff and acceptable food. The wait ? It's up to you to decide if you'd like to stand for up to an hour for breakfast. read more

In search of a new breakfast joint, we ended up at Hole in One. I regret to inform you that we opted out of trying their donuts/pastries - there's always next time! Breakfast was a decent experience. Arrived around 11am and there was a predicted 40 minute wait. It ended up being more like 60 minutes. Luckily for those of us who are impatient, you can enjoy a coffee or a pastry while you wait or even browse the neigboring stores. The wait was worth it for me at the time because I was curious to see what the hype was all about. As for our actual meals, we ordered two Two by Two's and the Hole in One Breakfast. The Two by Two was a rather small meal. I wouldn't recommend it unless you had a tiny appetite. The Hole in one breakfast was great (as it should be) - you should never have to choose between sausage and bacon! The service was decent, though I did notice our table was ill-eqiupped. Ketchup bottle was nearly empty and jams were running low. The wait staff seemed shocked by the condition of the table condiments when we had to ask for more ketchup. Overall this is a good breakfast joint for sure - no real complaints about the food. I would recommend visiting Hole in One if it's an off hour with no wait. The food was just too mediocre to wait 40+ minutes. A breakfast with equal quality can be had elsewhere with better timing. read more

I went in to the hole in one yesterday afternoon (May 3rd 2017) and had probably one of the best mocha lattes I have ever had! I wish I thought to go back and look at the name tag of the girl that made it (brown hair, ponytail), but I hadn't tried my drink until I got in to my car. We were eating here and overheard the hostess inform the manager that it is time to start "re-using" the food from the sit-ins for take out since the line was getting to long. Let me state this again, your food may have been on someone elses plate! Pretty gross, but true..... these people were not joking and we were not supposed to hear that. This place is awesome!!!! We've never been for lunch but are frequent breakfast patrons. Such a good menu and such great service. Yes, there can be a wait but it goes pretty quickly. The hostess is super nice and patient, and you can get coffee (and a delicious donut) while you wait. It opens super early too (wish I knew about this place when our kids were small). I got my eggs over easy and they came with a cooked yolk... Fine. I was too hungry to say anything. The rye bread was barely toasted and the French toast was good. Ate here for lunch. A decent place. Not good, not bad. We visited on a week day, and the place was packed. About twenty minutes for a table of three. The hostess was not overly friendly. There's really nowhere to wait while waiting for a table so it gets extremely crowded near the door while waiting. Our waitress was friendly, but not too attentive to our table, which is sort of understanding given how busy it was. Service was super slow. I ordered soup and sandwich and the other two in my party ordered eggs and pancakes. Food was as decent, nothing to rave about. Prices are a bit higher than expected, but it's a touristy area. Just like everywhere else on the cape (that is worth mentioning) there is always a long line during peak hours. This is even after they have done a remodel to fit even more seats. There staff is trained well and they know how to keep things organized (with the lines and turning over tables). The food is quality for breakfast foods and their baked goods are good enough that my wife remembered them from last year and wanted to go back. Beyond the good food and the hard working staff, they go over and above and care about details when it regards customer service. I arrived with my wife and my one year old. We did have to wait quite some time for a table but when we were finally seated, without asking, they had a place ready for my daughter consisting of a high chair, napkin, and a spoon. It may seem odd but it shows they were trying to accommodate and it made things a lot easier to start. Great place... I will definitely go back as the customer service puts them above the rest. read more

Very good lunch at hole in one. The corned beef Reuben was delicious. Very reasonable prices for kids meals and lunches for the cape. Kids loved the hot chocolate and pancakes and French toast sticks for lunch. The fresh, warm, homeade kettle chips were to die for and worth it. Next time will have to try a donut.
