Do not order the BBQ here. This is the worst BBQ I have ever had. The mac and cheese seemed to have come out of a box. The fried Catfish had an off putting flavor as if it was old. I had high hopes when I walked in because it smelled like a bbq- but was disappointed by the bland flavor of the food and the portion sizes. $10 for a small pulled pork sandwich and a small cup of mushy bbq beans was very aggravating. Plus the appetizer of fried okra was very small and at a cost of $4. I've been to numerous bbq places that give much larger portions and 2 sides for the same price. Unfortunately, I won't be going back, and it's a shame because they need more variety of restaurants in Springfield. As far as the service was concerned, it was slow and no one ever came to fill our drinks back up or ask how the meal was. I have been here twice and while the food smells amazing the taste does not live up. The service is terrible i was ignored being seated because the waitresses are to busy trying to cater only to the people they think are going to be big tippers. My first time there was about a year ago at which time i did not order any food i used the bathroom to wash my hands but there was no soap i asked an employee if they could get more soap in the bathroom and sat there for 20 minutes while i waited for them to refill the soap (in which time several employees had used the bathroom and returned to work) finally i asked to speak to the manager and told him i had witnessed several of his workers use the bathroom where there was no soap he assured me they all washed their hands in the kitchen ok i said you are going to get someone very sick and i left. Flash forward a year to last sunday i decided to give them another chance and try their all you can eat brunch buffett. when i entered i was not greeted and the hostess rang up 3 different groups of people before me (only one of which was there before me) finally i said am i invisible here or should i just leave? They appologized and with in 10 minutes i was seated (after a group that had came in after me) So i finaly get to the food the Eggs were disgusting as was the gravy and dont get started on the soggy pulled pork (where was it pulled out of?) and at least one of the sausages i ate was pink in the middle. The only food that was not disgusting were the waffles (which i hate to give them props for something, But the waffles were delicious albeit i would have like to have seen more toppings for them besides just syrup and butter) The next day about 20 minutes into my shift at work i experienced violent persistent diahrea that lasted all day monday and most of tuesday. I have only been this ill from food poisioning once before in my life and that was from KFC. Please if you value your health and the health of your family avoid this place and their under cooked breakfast meats but if you must eat here here be prepared for crappy attitude from the stuck up staff and do your stomache a favor and order the waffles. read more

My Aunt and Cousin and I went her on Friday for my Birthday. I chose this place because of its proximity and because I really like their smoked meats. Dinner was pretty good, and I do like the staff! Zack was our server and he was pretty funny, like a free floor show with dinner! My Aunt and I had the 1/4 chicken and my cousin had the beef brisket. My sides were the green beans and a salad. The barbeque sauce is kept at the table, and I'm quite fond of their brisket sauce. The salad had a kind of southwest-y dressing, which was excellent. My green beans were very good, too. My cousin had the potato salad (I've had hat before and I didn't like it) but he liked it as well as the macaroni and cheese. We cleaned our plates thoroughly, and the price point is appropriate with the quality. I've been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but this was my first Birthday there. Zack insisted I choose a dessert to take home with me since I was too stuffed to eat it there. So, for breakfast I had their berry crumble, and darn if it wasn't great!! We ordered catering for a small event- 30 people. I think we ended up with enough for probably 40! The smoked chicken and pulled pork were amazing and the sides (baked beans, Texas potatoes and salad) were plentiful and so delicious. This place was excellent as Far as the food was concerned. The service wasn't the most prompt although their waiting couches were super comfortable. My daughter and I were told after 5 min. To have a seat and it would be about 10 min. 15-20 min. Later we were seated. I don't know why it took so long, because nobody left while we were waiting, but when we were taken to our table there were 4 dirty tables. My beer had a gnat in it and was promptly replaced. OMG the ribs were amazing! Fell off the bone, smoky flavor that was great even without the amazing the sauce. OMG the sauce!!! Loved the fries too: home cut with skins, not greasy. We have eaten at the West 11th location several times but this was our first visit to the Mohawk HITW. We came for a late lunch and I was thrilled to find our breakfast was available till 2:00, since breakfast is my favorite meal, eligible for consumption 3 times a day. I ordered the Haystack Hashbrowns with brisket, pepper jack (but request a 1/2 portion of the cheese), and eggs over easy, which I promptly moved on top of the Haystack and broken the yolks for maximum seepage into the potatoes and meat. Delightful! My spouse had the Q Tater with brisket -- very good, but would have benefitted from a 1/2 cheese request as well. As a super bonus, they serve diet Dr Pepper, so that was a win! The two meat plate included the pork and chicken dark meat and the turkey sandwich was turkey, bacon, cheddar, Swiss, and regular sandwich fixings. As far as the bbq plate the pork is standard moist, tender, crisp outside. The dark meat chicken was great! Moist and tender yet crispy skin on the chicken quarter leg. The brisket is so delicious and tender it really doesn't need sauce. The pulled pork really does melt in your mouth. Also, sauce is unnecessary. The flavors of the meat here stand alone just fine.French fries are fresh and cooked to order. I like mine soft, a very difficult thing to convey, but these are perfect. I came in to eat a few weeks ago. It was a Thursday. We came in just for the smoked bacon cheese burgers. Lisa was our server. She was the worst server I'd ever had in my life. She was loud, rude and just an all around unwelcoming server. We got checked on more by the lady that was not our server then we did from the one who was supposed to be taking care of us. We ordered the take home Thanksgiving dinner. It was totally awesome and delicious. The smoke turkey was phenomenal, the stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams, green beans, cranberry sauce, and rolls and cornbread was really good. This serves about six people so it had lots of leftovers. Very impressed with this joint. We were greeted warmly from the get go and were walked through the faux rock arches into the dining room which had booths and what looked like a stuffed cougar. Drinks and bread came quickly and the server answered all of our questions. I ordered the half chicken and my SO ordered a few vegetarian sides and a salad. The food was brought out pretty fast and tasted fresh. The chicken was especially tender and smokey. Ugggh! So I wrote a review about the burger special... So tonight, I called in an order for the French Dip that was the special of the night... So the guy on the phone said, 10 to 15 minutes . I got there, and two older women came in after me and made their orders at the counter, I might add these women weren't together.... They both got their food before me!! I said come oh guys I ordered my food 45 minutes ago... Then they said oh hold on and brought my food right out to me, so at this point I'm already irritated.. I got home to eat my food.. My fries were soggy and dripping with oil... My French dip was nothing but fat. I was feeding my dog the fat... So I had pretty much nothing but soggy bread. Lovely! After my last review I thought maybe they were having a bad night... I'm more disappointed then ever.. Sorry hole in the wall. You lost your charm and great food. read more

Got food to go and when I got home the restaurant called. The dessert portion of the order didn't make it in the bag. The manager took down my address and brought the desserts within 20 minutes. We have been coming here since they opened and it is just not the same place it once was. Food was good, but service has continually gone down hill. I miss seeing the regulars who know what customer service is! I had to flag our waitress down since they all seem to keep from making eye contact! Drinks have been empty for half the meal, even when the glasses went to the end of the table. We did however get our check early in the meal. My guess is to avoid having to come back! Driven by this place a few dozen times decided to give it a shot.... started of by calling my order in the lady who took my order was super rude over the phone by the end of the call I thought to myself that I could one not give them business because the lady was super unprofessional or two go ahead a try it. Well I chose wrong and gave it a try. I order $40 worth of bbq and I wasn't impressed at all. I live 4 min away and bbq was cold and dry. Fries were soft DO NOT get the cheesy potatoes not even worthy to feed to your pet. Chicken was mediocre and so were the ribs. Brisket was chewy you think they would have it down by now. I tipped them more than they deserved I for one will not be coming back. Life is precious don't waste it here read more
