Decent pizza place at Midway airport. They make you order through a kiosk. I got a breakfast wrap thing and waited forever for them to then tell me they didn't have it (they should have some way to indicate the unavailable items on the kiosk so people don't order and pay for things that don't actually exist). So instead of getting a refund, I got a pizza and had to pay more because I also got an OJ. While trying to determine type of pizza the second one was, the woman yelled at me saying this wasn't sanitary. My response is they're not well defined with a lazy line with a poorly discernible marker in the side. She said she had to waste the pizza now and that I had to order at the kiosk. I had a very disturbing experience at the Homerun Inn Pizza location inside Mid-Way Regional Chicago Airport on 5/23/2026 between 4pm-5pm. I witnessed behavior from employee Daniel Oquendo that appeared discriminatory and unfair toward Black customers and people of color. Three women of color were sitting at the bar when Daniel approached them and told them they needed to either consume something or leave. Not long after, a white male sat at the bar for approximately 30-45 minutes, and Daniel never approached him or said anything at all. Later, another Black male sat down for only about five minutes, and Daniel immediately approached him with the same statement: "consume or leave." The difference in treatment was obvious and did not seem fair. I was personally sitting in the corner seat and witnessed these interactions myself. Management should review the security camera footage between 4pm and 5pm on 5/23/2026 to verify what occurred. Everyone deserves to be treated equally and respectfully regardless of race or skin color. This experience left a very negative impression of this establishment, and I hope management takes this complaint seriously and addresses the situation appropriately before more customers are treated this way. read more

Grabbed lunch here during my connection at Midway! Nothing to write home about, but it's pretty decent and a good option if you're in a rush. As a fan of The Bear, I had to get the classic Italian beef sandwich. Honestly, it wasn't too bad: the jus was piping hot & flavorful; the pickled peppers gave a spicy, acidic kick to the sandwich; and the bread was good. The meat itself wasn't seasoned super well, but I guess that's why you have the jus and peppers. I certainly won't base my entire opinion of Italian beef sandwiches on this, but it was decent. Home Run Pizza is a set between B17 and B18 gates and offers about 40 barstool seats allowing travelers to belly up to the large rectangular bar to grab a drink and/or bite before or after a flight. We were flying out of B17 and had a bit of time to spare, so we grabbed two seats and ordered a pepperoni pizza along with a few draft beers. The pizza, a 12" double pepperoni, was decent. Nothing spectacular, but hit the spot as needed. It was a bit greasier than I would have liked to have, especially before boarding a flight...but a few dabs of a napkin, and we were ok. Service was ok. They only had 1 bartender during the time we were there, and with a full bar, they had her running. This meant drinks and such were delayed a bit, but we were not in a hurry, so no big deal. Overall, nice space in a decent location within B terminal. read more

Whether said as a joke or not, that kind of language is completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and disturbing in a customer-facing role especially in a busy airport restaurant. Located in Chicago Midway Airport, the pizza is just as good as I remember as a kid. The original location was near White Sox Comiskey Park, hence the name. This spot has kiosk to place your order to go or you can cop a squat at the table/bar. I did both. I got settled and ordered a cheese and sausage for lunch at the counter and took one to go on my flight home. Cool place, right in the center of the southwest gate, enough for 20 people to sit comfortably and several beers and spirits to choose from. If zero was an option. We celebrated our family reunion at this establishment today. Upon entry the staff were young girls, the place was rather empty. The wait was 20-25 minutes. The young lady took 18 of us to the back and we sat. She never assigned a seating area so we walked and sat wherever. Few minutes later this white manager walked over, exhausted trying to tell us that " yall just can't walk in here and sit wherever ". He was nasty and very unprofessional and rude.
