The first time I came here was to grab a bacon donut for my brother and I took a bite of it but it was too sweet for me. This time I went there for breakfast and it was alright. If I have to choose a place on Park street this would probably be my first choice for breakfast. Having tried so many breakfast and brunch establishments a few years ago I would rate this place an average if I have to compare. I ordered the classic breakfast, which came with either 3 piece bacon or sausages, two eggs, hashbrown and toast. The sausages I chose were a bit different from the typical sausage links I usually get a breakfast joints but they were ok. I got my eggs sunnyside up and it was perfect. Hashbrowns were a bit on the soggy side and not crunchy. For toast you get the option of wheat, sourdough, white or english muffin. Service was nice and friendly. read more

This experience was a trifecta, the coffee was perfect, the food was great and our server, Alex, was amazing. When she took our order she wasn't writing any thing down, then she took another tables order. So we were sure our order would be wrong in some way. Well, it was 100% correct. To start the coffee was smooth and extremely hot, which is the only way to drink it. I ordered the original eggs Benedict, the eggs were perfectly poached and the hollandaise was delicious. My sweetheart ordered the classic breakfast and he had no complaints and we also had French toast to share. The French toast was light and airy with the right amount of sweetness. I had such high hopes for this spot. I always see it on yelp. Decided to try it today as a breakfast treat for Halloween. It definitely wasn't what I expected. The pancakes were Dark and tasted burnt, the bacon had no flavor and it felt like I was chewing on leather. The eggs were okay but I paid extra for cheese and there was barley any added. The customer that takes their time to come into this establishment are treated as a secondary priority to DoorDash/UberEats/Grubhub online customers comfortably sitting on their couch. We waited (in the rain) about 15 minutes before getting a table. Once inside, there were no menus on our table. The hostess did, in fact, apologize for the delay due to an influx of orders, so we expected to wait a bit. Our arrival time was 10:30am. Seated at 10:50am. Menus were not on the table until 11:10am. A group that entered 15 minutes after us got their order taken first at 11:50pm. Order taken at 11:55pm---FOR BREAKFAST. In the meantime, as we sat for 1 hour sipping coffee awaiting this waitress, we watched as over 20 dashers (NOT AN EXAGGERATION) left with bags (and sometimes boxes) of prepared food. For the wait, they offered donuts since that was ready to go. We figured it was a situation like "oh, we're so sorry it's taking so long, here's some donuts on the house..." but it was not. When the waitress came to take our order just before noon, she asked what donuts were on the empty plate on the table so she could tally that onto our bill. We were tired, hungry, and appalled that the online orders clearly take precedence here, and people who came down, found parking, braved the weather, and waited outside AND inside were the least of their concern. We had asked if we could speak to the manager, to which she replied: "no one is a manager here." We asked if we could speak to an owner, to which she replied "I don't even speak to them, they are somewhere in San Mateo." OMG. At around 12:30 or so food showed up. Well, a plate of pancakes showed up. My son and I came back inside from stretching our legs out in the fresh air as we have been there nearly 2 hours now with horrible service, lots of coffee, and some donuts. We all took a dive into the pancakes...warm--not hot--and cakey and dry. My son's food showed up next, and he began to dig in. My food (along with my wife's food) showed up when my son was already half done. At that time, we requested to return the pancakes due to their temperature and dryness. She asked if we wanted something else, and my wife stated: "No, we just want to go home at this point." to which the waitress gave a nasty look to her. Overall, the food was OK, maybe a 5/10 for the Benedict, a 6/10 for the Bird's Nest, and 2/10 for the Hippie Hash. My son made his hash browns flavorful by adding syrup. My wife and I are breakfast place junkies. The best breakfast place we have ever eaten in is only 1 1/2 blocks away; we wanted to give a chance to other local businesses, but this is what you get when you try and copy what the best (Ole's) has done for decades: balance great customer service, great food quality, and find a way to manage online deliveries while prioritizing in-person dining in a post-COVID world. Home Skillet cannot currently do this. They need better staffing, and a "customer in hand is worth two online" approach...immediately. The place is the definition of hole in the wall. I walked past it twice before I found it. Being it was a Saturday morning, it was no surprise that the place was packed. However there was a good flow of people coming and going. My breakfast was delicious. When I sat down, the first thing my eyes landed on was a sign for Nutella filled pancakes with Strawberries, it was a must have at that point and I add some tradition breakfast sides to go with. From the menu, we had the sunny chorizo and the belt sandwich which was primarily a BLT with eggs. The sunny chorizo I would recommend trying. It included sunny side up eggs, toast and potatoes which was a treat. It was lightly salted and filling. It was a large serving, enough for me to share with my co-worker comfortably and still have for me to be overly full! The belt sandwich was also delicious. Not the best place I've been to and surely not the worst, there was a wait but , thank goodness the sun was shining while we did. Although I wasn't greeted with the warmest welcome the food was served fairly quickly and although they did forget to bring the birthday boys breakfast out and we had to remind them . Everybody was fairly happy with their food except for the person who ordered the omelette which he said they probably should have a little more peppers and onions in it, they should also work on their sign in procedure because it looks kind of in a disarray and like a board of graffiti. This is a great little place to stop by and grab a bite to eat downtown. I ordered a very normal breakfast of bacon, eggs, and hash browns with coffee. I asked for my hash browns to be extra crispy, and they brought them out that way, and they were delicious. I'm really impressed with the food, service, and price point. The portions are rather large, you could easily split a breakfast plate with another person. Also, I noticed a lot of people walking in and getting their donuts. I really want to love this place! This place has the potential to be five star! I came in contact during Covid so Ive only ordered via DoorDash. Bitter Sweet memories because the food does not come hot by the time it gets to me. The grilled cheese is way too good very delicious. However fries were inedible by the time it was delivered. The donuts on the menu via DoorDash need to have more variety please! The blueberry donut I requested and got only once was the best donut I ever tasted. It seems like if you go in store you can get more variety with the donuts but not ordering for delivery. The service was amazing, as all the workers were extremely friendly, helpful and attentive, without being pushy. As this "was" the go to spot for me and my family.... Our perspective has changed....BIG TIME!! One weekend, my family and I were having our usual breakfast. We encountered an altercation between the 2 hostesses (heavy set Caucasian lady and a Vietnamese lady) against a customer who was also Vietnamese descent along with her 2 other friends. They were not being seated after they had been waiting for quite some time; honestly, they were there before us. They were waiting for 45min. Anyway, she was asking politely in a very low tone when she and her 2 other friends will be seated. The 2 hostesses were very DISCOURTEOUS towards them, practically yelling. I believe the lady was also indicating that one of her friend was diabetic and really needed to consume something or else the friend would go into diabetic shock. The Vietnamese hostess didn't care and told her that she can wait and that she was done with her. Meanwhile, the other hostess interrupted and told the customers you can wait!! Wow!! This is what you call customer service?? We felt that they were very RACIST TOWARDS THEIR OWN KIND (Vietnamese)!!!! We were very disappointed and disgusted on how they treated a group that had been waiting for 45 min. We decided not to leave a tip and have spread amongst our friends and family to not support this local joint and their behavior. Disappointed in this place after reading so many good reviews. Small portion for the price. One slice of toast, cut in half...cheap. The Hippie Hash was all onions with few shred of potatoes. It also had so much water for some reason; they overcooked the veggies or something. The worst part was the hotcakes! We got the seasonal berries hotcakes; well there were only few strawberries on top (like u see in the picture). There were no "berries" (notice the "S" means more than one kind of berry) on top or inside of the hotcakes. Basically you are giving me original hotcake and charging me extra for couple of strawberries on top? That is cheating. Also don't call it "seasonal berries" (with the "S")... when you're basically using only strawberry..... Service was good and attentive. Not going back. I honestly like the home feel of this place. The food isn't that good to be honest, but the portions are pretty large so maybe that's why people come here ‍ it's a good place to enjoy a regular breakfast on a Saturday morning since it's also located in a downtown so you can find other interesting things to do after. On weekends, the waiting line can get long and you can end up waiting 45 min for a table. The space is very tight so there is not a lot of seating available, hence the long wait. And another issue is parking! Like any downtown city, it's all metered and you may have to drive around until you find an open spot. I forgot to mention!
