Delicious tacos, quick service, the kindest employees. We loved how bright and airy the place was with seating inside and out. There is only street parking and it seemed to get busier around 10:30, but before that the place was almost to ourselves! The trinity was a classic breakfast taco, paired with their green salsa was so good. Their brisket taco was a little oily but with the most amazing flavor. The prices are a little steep but for how quick they fill you up it's definitely worth it!

Home state was a pleasant surprise. We were looking for a quick place to eat before a show. The food was really good, I even bought a bag of tortillas from them because they make them in house. Out of all the things we ordered I liked the chicken taco the best. The flavors were perfect. They even provide house made salsas for you to try and both were delicious. Not too spicy. The service was excellent. The indoor and outdoor seating is also great. The only thing I have to complain about is the bathrooms. I believe they share them with other businesses but they were in horrid shape. Out of the 4 individual bathrooms available, one was in good shape. I'm not going to be specific with what was wrong but it was gross. Let your imagination fill in the blank.

Was craving food and honestly I was like let me get a salad, but my drive lead me to this place and they pretty much said "mmmm perhaps not!" Ended up getting a delicious chorizo with egg bowl that had tortilla scrambled in there as well. Came out to $12, it was actually pretty filling and helped me get through my day not too hungry afterwards, I will definitely come back to try their tacos to give a review on their flour and corn tacos. Thank you for the meal and the green sauce was bomb highly recommend dumping it all over your bowl or taco. Vegan options are available as well and i am certain they'll be as delicious as well. The vibe inside is very rustic and nice great to come here during the day and have a nice meal and walk around.

Well I was def surprised! Everything we ate was bursting with flavor! The tacos were bigger than expected, loaded queso was soo good Customer service was super friendly and I liked that they checked in on us to see if we needed anything. Very genuinely nice! Chill spot and you can even have a beer with your tacos! Love it

Breakfast tacos.. I really wanted to love this place but sadly could not. We came on a Saturday for brunch and it was pretty packed. The food looked promising as their tortillas are hand made. I paid $85 for 6 tacos, a queso dip, a paloma and a ranch water. The tacos I had were the vaquero (braised beef) and the chicken taco. It just wasn't special. Nothing tasted unique and I want to say it was closer to the bland side. I also expected a lot more from the braised beef and it didn't deliver. Their tacos are $6 each and though they are massive, the taste was not worth it for me. I will admit their salsas were good and the queso dip was delicious. It was the only wow for me and loved that it came with ground beef but the queso alone wouldn't be enough for me to come back.

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed the food! First of all, I love Torchy's Tacos in Texas so I was super excited to try this place! I was hoping for some good chips and queso in California and this place hit the spot! Service was friendly, decor of the restaurant was cool. There's some inside seating and more outside. Good variety of choices on the menu, prices on the higher side in regard to the portions. What I ordered: -Don't Mess with Texas: This was pretty simple but filling because of the beans. Definitely bland and something you could make at home. I also wasn't a fan of the salsas. 3/5 -Brisket Taco: This was actually really good, but they are stingy on the brisket. The tortilla is too large for the amount of filling so it totally looks like a skinny underfilled taco. Guacamole did provide a delicious, much needed flavor. Brisket was good but wished there was more. 4/5 -Loaded Chips & Queso: SO GOOD! Not as good as Torchy's but will satisfy the craving at home. I enjoyed the added flavor and texture the brisket added to the queso. Chips are unlimited when dining in! 5/5 -Salted Chocolate Chip Cookie: Delicious, quality gourmet cookie! Sea salt and dark chocolate complement the buttery cookie perfectly! 5/5 Overall, I enjoyed my food here but was a little disappointed in regard to the portions as well as flavor. I think that I'm used to Mexican tacos which are so much more flavorful and heavily stuffed with ingredients. But I really enjoyed the chips & queso here. If I'm ever in the area again I'd come back for that and to try the cookie milk latte!

I'm so disappointed that they changed the queso recipe; now it's all hard and clumpy, not even good for dipping.

My parents live nearby and it's one of their favorite local restaurants. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. Whenever I visit, we grab takeout. There's something for everyone. I love the vegetarian options. Unfortunately, during this visit, they were out of The Batman. We ordered 15 tacos and a salad at the counter and went for a walk in the area to kill time as we waited for the food. The area (Glendale Bl.) is adorable with many unique shops and restaurants. When we returned, our food was packaged up and ready to go. When we sat down to eat our food, it was warm and delicious! The tacos look small, but they are quite filling. I ordered five for myself, but was full after the second one. My parents love the brisket taco. Customer service was friendly and helpful. * Metered parking is located on the street. Parking is free on Sundays.

I'm not a fan of Texan queso so I was hesitant to try this restaurant out. Turns out they have non dairy options and you can also get the charro beans without cheese so I was pleasantly surprised. I had their brisket and chicken tacos on corn. Both packed with juicy and flavorful meat instead meat. I liked both but I preferred the brisket because it wasn't as juicy as the chicken. The charro beans could have more bacon or something because they tasted like pure beans but still good. Next time I'll try their signature flour tortillas for their tacos. They even sell a dozen for $8 not bad since they probably make them in house with lard. Can't wait to try the rest of their menu!!!

Always a nice vibes here. Heard they had a new margarita and had to come try it. Mango !!!! It was really delish. It had a spice to it that complemented the mango and citrus flavors. Come give it a try. We also ordered a brisket taco, loaded queso and guacamole. All really delicious.

HomeState is a Texas Kitchen in Southern California that serve lunch, breakfast tacos, queso, brisket, house-made flour tortillas, and coffee. This location is at Atwater Village neighborhood of LA. I came to grab a coffee and four pollo tacos on flour. I was humbly greeted by a staff as I stepped inside like a VIP. Lol. Service was on point. Atmosphere was chill. Finding parking was a breeze. Prices were a bit pricey compared four years ago. Overall, it's a modest spot to grab a quick food and drink. I recommend HS.

Just a quick review as we stopped by for a snack. We got the chips and cheese with pulled beef. For the price it was worth it. It's pay first and that wasn't so bad as they delivered the food to your table. Ambiance 9/10 Food 9/10 Service 9/10 Cleanliness 10/10 Value 9/10 Will I Return? Most likely

My husband and I were out doing last minute Christmas shopping. We stopped by for a quick breakfast/lunch 1 breakfast taco & 1 chicken & crispy potatoes. Excellent service and great busy location. We enjoyed it and continued our shopping now comes dinner time he says let's go back, I'm like are you serious . Well we came back and ate more and had margaritas. Julio, Chris and the very nice guy brought out our trays(sorry I missed your name). I must say absolutely delicious, very very very clean place. Everyone had their area to organize and clean, refill and all the ice tea containers cleaned, I mean thoroughly cleaned each container & Dispenser. It's really nice to see how clean it is and how much they are doing. I found out by Chris, she said it's a female owned business . We will definitely be back

The menu is quite simple, but beware that no prices are listed on the main menu, but they are on the paper menus. They accept Apple Pay/credit cards. I ordered the asada burrito and the pollo caramelo and added the grilled poblano (as recommended on Yelp!). The tortillas were the true stars -- soft, nice chew, with a buttery mouth feel (probably lard). The fillings were just ok. The inside reminded me of a Taco Bell 7 layer burrito -- a lot going on but all the flavors kinda blend together. I (incorrectly) thought the beans were refried, but they are not. Whatever is going on inside, I didn't find much structure. The burrito was the best. The caramelo was a lazily folded burrito. I read that it was like a quesadilla, but I couldn't disagree more. I would skip this next time. I spent $25 and it was a lot of food, but I wasn't impressed, especially given the hype and the fact that LA should really be the pinnacle of Mexican food. Not sure if I'll make a second trip here.

I came here for dinner on a week night and my experience here was pretty good. I had the asada and al pastor tacos with all the toppings and they were both so good and full of meat and heat. The toppings can be spicy for some, so be warned. My favorite of the two was the all pastor which was flavorful and I did like the thinly shaved meat. It was not dry at all and was fresh. I also tried the mulita with al pastor meat and that was also soso good. Cheesy, meaty, and indulgent. The additional topping section had good variety with pickled onions, cucumbers, etc. and everything seemed pretty fresh. Unfortunately, they were pretty much out of the roasted pepper and grilled onions at the time I went. To drink, I had the horchata and that was also very delicious. It was huge, sweet, and creamy. I also loved how it was not grainy at all. A good pairing with the rich foods. They also have a good amount of seating at the stand with a long table and multiple chairs. Having been to so many taco stands, I think what makes Tire Shop Taqueria really stand out are the right-off-the-grill charcoal-grilled meats, the freshly made tortillas literally in front of you as you are waiting on line, and the free guacamole that comes with each taco. The ordering process is like any other taco stand, though one difference is here the salsas/guacamole are all handled by the staff. If you'd like more of something, just ask them instead of reaching for the ladle yourself. There is a separate area though for grilled onions/peppers and radishes you can serve yourself. I got the asada, chorizo, cabeza, and al pastor, and they were all so good. The asada and chorizo are specifically grilled over charcoal, and that flavor really shines through. I loved how meaty and tender the cabeza was too, and the classic al pastor hit the spot. They have large communal tables setup, so it is a great friendly vibe to enjoy your meal I will say, the surrounding area is not the best in LA, especially given how the taco stand is only open at night. The parking lot is quite small, so I parked on a side street that had some abandoned cars, but of course, if you are in/from LA, this is not that new for us. I would hesitate if I am a tourist though to make it out here. Anyhow, the food really is worth it here, and I can't wait to be back!

While the shrimp itself tasted sweet, the scallop didn't taste like anything. The overall dish felt one-dimensional for the price. Ceviche de Rockot (Rockfish): More reasonable portion. Snappy texture. For a mild, sweet fish, this could have been a great canvas for creative flavors. Instead it's just lime-y like the prior dishes. While each dish looked aesthetic, they shared the same acidic flavor profile. I found myself wishing for more creativity and variety in the sauces and seasonings. It's mind blowing how a stand on the side of the road puts out better quality food than a brick/mortar taco shop..but these guys know exactly what they are doing and it was a pleasure to try their food. 20 out of 10 for this place.

I do like how they grill their meat though and they use the tortillas to scoop up the meat on the grill. Thought the al pastor was a bit salty and the cheese did not add much flavor to it, but that's probably a good thing considering the saltiness of the meat. Also, make sure you ask them for pineapples since they did not include it until we asked. They do have them sliced up in a container by the meats. Ambience is very casual and it's a stand while eating type of situation. Service was quick.

Came here late one night driving back from an event since I've only heard good things…read more I got 2 tacos (asada and cabeza, 1 pollo quesadilla, a bean and cheese burrito and small bag of chips and guac. Everything came out to about $26 which is super reasonable! Service on a later end of the night was great! Super friendly and quick service. No indoor dining was available since they were closing in 15 mins. Food was ready in less than 10 mins. Salsa is free which both were delicious and had great flavor. Overall the food was delicious! It hit the spot. Filled with meat and the tortillas were a hit on their own. I would definitely go back again and try the other items that they had to offer.

Driving by I always see a line and read an article recently that Sonoratown is officially…read morerecognized in the California Michelin Guide - makes sense! I like that they were open late to satisfy a late night taco craving. Even though there is typically a line they are quite efficient with orders and even have a parking lot/outdoor dining space in addition to their indoor space so it doesn't feel cramped. It was my first visit so I had to get a mix of their tacos and burritos with the various meats they serve. It was a nice fact to know their tortillas have some lard also so it adds a nice flavor as well. + Burrito 2.0 (asada) + Chivichanga (chicken and beef) + Tacos (chorizo, tripe, cabeza, asada) I enjoyed the burrito with asada and thought it was good portion size for the cost. The guac, cheese, and beans pair well with the meat and has a nice grill on the tortilla. The tacos were a solid size as well but I was surprised to find the tripe as my favorite because they fry it and it adds a nice crunch/texture change. The cabeza was a close second with the stewed flavors. The chivichangas were also tasty but not the traditional chimichanga I was anticipating. It's definitely on the softer side as everything mixes together and there's not much of a texture change. Worth trying if you are curious though. I ordered to go so I didn't see if they have a salsa bar but I did have to pay $.10 per to go container which would be nice if they were free. However, I liked mixing their red and green salsa with each bite. I am curious to try their avocado salsa next time. Overall, I thought the portion sizes were good for the prices and I felt full afterwards.
