We got the migas, 2 tacos and a chicken quesadilla. We did have a small problem with 1 taco that we requested no beans on. Took 3 tries to get it right but the service was very good and even gave us a free cookie for our trouble. Tried the spicy paloma, and it was actually quite tasty. My family and I had been to Homestate in LA so we were happy to see one open in Oceanside. We had high expectations because we already loved the tacos previously. We went here first for breakfast and had an "Andy's" egg breakfast dish. They charged for 2 small tortillas and this is off-putting. I pushed through the high price and nickel & dime extra for a tortilla. Breakfast food was good and the indoor atmosphere was friendly and inviting. We went back for lunch and tried the chicken and brisket tacos. Again we were charged 2 dollars extra for chips (this is free for a single serving at most small local taco shops) . Again pushed past this speed bump and had a couple of summer tea drinks. The drinks are elevated to the same importance as the food, so this might be a good spot to day drink. We both thought the chicken tacos were less than good. The meat (what could be found) was over cooked and not as good as other local taco shops. However, the brisket taco (simple with guac, cabbage and spice) was excellent. Salsas provided were very good. We will be coming back for the brisket tacos. This is an extremely competitive area for tacos. This shop will have to change somethings if it wants to be there for a long time. Parking is silly tight and the neighboring bakery is not open yet (if ever). I would recommend parking along the street and walking to this location , if possible. The service was relatively painless aside from asking if they had gluten free options but to be told "I don't know" by my server without any answer was a little off putting, however I decided not to care for the day. I have to be honest here, the ambiance and scenery are great it's definitely a spot with a decent vibe and a surprising amount of foot traffic which is initially what got us in the door. The service was fine, about what you'd expect anywhere else to be honest. We went here for breakfast and my girlfriend got 2 tacos one chicken and one brisket taco. I got the Migas because I looked up what it was and it looked and sounded good She said the chicken taco had no flavor at all, she had to cover it in green sauce to add atleast some flavor She said the brisket taco was decent , much better than the chicken taco Both of these tacos were extremely small, like the small tortillas you get from Albertsons or Costco Overall she said it was VERY bland and unseasoned The Migas I hate to say it were honestly so visually unappealing compared to what I seen online, it's like eggs with brisket and pico in a small cardboard tray like fries would come it. It was so soggy and flavorless that I'm personally turned off of ever going to the place again. I have nothing bad to say about the service or the location, it was clean and appealing I'm suprised to see so many overwhelmingly positive reviews about the food when it was probably the worst food I've had since school lunch in the 5th grade, even the Marine chow hall has better flavor when that stuffs cooked for the masses at a large scale. This meal was $40 and compared to what you can find in walking distance it is absolutely not worth it and I would not recommend.
