Great service and presentation combined with delicious food creates an awesome dining experience in my opinion. This dessert did disappoint (definitely shareable). And I appreciate the presentation with winning tic-tac-toe--nice touch & showed extra effort. I dined on the Clubhouse level--you can still order desserts featured in the Steakhouse. Alan--very attentive server w/o being overly present. (Striking the right balance is an art.)

Had an awesome time this weekend! The staff was entertaining and the food was amazing. The filet mignon was cooked properly and had so much flavor. The bacon Mac & cheese could bring a tear to your eye, it was so good. The drinks were strong and the convenience of horse betting was even stronger. I also haven't had a cheesecake hit all the right spots like that in a while. You will not be disappointed with Homestretch, definitely give it a try! Two thumbs up!

We enjoyed a nice meal with cocktails while dining in the bar area. Scot took wonderful care of us, as usual. The food and service are consistently good. On this trip, we enjoyed the wedge salad, French onion soup, 6 oz filet, lobster tail and veggies. All was very tasty! Tip: go before dark on good weather days so you can enjoy the nice view of the track and the grounds (with or without horse racing).

The parking lot tailgating before dinner is half the experience. Where else can you sip a drink next to a pickup truck, make friends with complete strangers, and then walk inside to eat a meal that makes you question every life choice that led you to lesser restaurants? The food is absurdly good. The famous Perkinsville Pork deserves its own state holiday. Portions are generous, flavors are bold, and the menu somehow manages to feel both elevated and unapologetically Hoosier. Service was friendly, the atmosphere was chaotic in the best possible way. Everyone having a great time. Come hungry. Come early. Bring a folding chair for the parking lot. Leave wondering why every restaurant isn't this much fun. 10/10. I'd drive past three chain restaurants and a dozen sensible decisions to eat here again. Will be back soon.

I can definitely understand why people will tailgate just to get in for dinner. We started off with the meatballs, the pork loin, and the pierogies. The pork loin is a must get, and the other others were delicious as well. For my entrée, I got the pork loin as well because it was so good as an appetizer, and before that I started with the tomato soup, which was also excellent. Addison was our waiter and was extremely attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. We had a party of over 10 people and he handled it flawlessly. If you're in the mood for something out of the city in a little bit of a change of pace, I would highly recommend trying here.

When I tried order off the menu to see if I could get a trout and steak combo, my server tried very hard to make this happen, but gave up. She could have asked a manager, but it was not important enough for me to pursue the matter. But, she was very sweet and was very helprul the rest of the time. Pittsburgh Rare steak preparation involves charring the exterior on a very hot flat-top and serving it rare. What I got was not this, as I could immediately tell by the fact that it had noticeable grill marks. They just cooked as usual for a rare order. With a NY Strip steak, you expect some connective tissue, but not this much. It was hidden also in the muscle of the steak. I had trouble hiding all the half chewed offal on my plate. Neither did it have a great beef flavor. This summary from the internet agrees with my idea of rice pilaf, "Pilaf is a rice dish where grains are toasted in oil or butter with aromatics like onion and garlic before being simmered in seasoned broth, resulting in fluffy, separate grains." What I was served was nothing like this as I got buttered rice that clumped together. No effort was employed in plating for appearance. I got a steak on a plate and a silver colored boat on which the rice was piled. The Cole slaw served as a salad was very good. The beer was cold and as expected.

As a result I tried a Bullet bourbon, special barrel, that was very nice. My husband had the Bloody Mary My husband had his heart fixed on a 42 ounce pork chop. I agreed to share. Two sides and a wedge. The wedge was like a head of lettuce with blue cheese, bacon and tomato quarters. Very fresh and nice Our waiter warned us that a party of 36 was upstairs and wanted to take our dinner right away. We wanted to enjoy our drinks first. He tried to work it out but I have to admit we felt rushed Next was our pork. To me it was a plate of lard. It was pork back and a small pork chop. The pork back was all fat and about 1/3 of the chop was fat I could not eat it and my husband said it was good. (I think to save face because he had longed for a big pork chop.) The sides were sweet potato casserole and broccoli rabe. Sweet potato was to sweet to enjoy and broccoli was swimming in garlic butter Neither was good When the waiter asked how we enjoyed our meal, I asked if always that fat. He apologized and said I am afraid so. I told him how much I disliked it but my husband ate some of it and thought it was good My husband said to bring a desert menu since I ate so little. The waiter suggested the carrot cake and then asked if we wanted to go. We said no and wanted coffee to enjoy with it He brought lovely fresh press coffee. Poured it and then started clearing our table. I asked if he was hurrying us and said just trying to stay ahead of the crowd $200 check our expectations we're not met but we feel there are better meats on the menu and will try again. At $9-10 each why not! Blueberry Lemon Drop was good, but the Watermelon was my favorite. We also tried the caramel apple and it was good too. For dinner I got the pork tenderloin sandwich with onion rings. Both were delicious and the server said all were made in house. What I loved about the onion rings was the super thick and crunchy beer batter. We also got some sort or chicken bowl that was a lot of food. Came with chips. That's not my particular thing but the person who ordered it loved it. They make all their own dressings and believe me when I tell you the spicy ranch is spicy. I loaded my onion ring up with that ranch and I thought I was going to pass out it was so hot. I still ate it just not as much at one of time. They have plenty of seating at the bar or tables inside and a few outside tables by the street where we saw people take advantage of the nice weather and brought their dogs. They have a small stage where they have live performances, I think someone was coming last night we were just there too early. They have pull tabs for those who are gamblers. The place was really clean and staff were friendly yet busy. Parking can be tricky so be prepared to walk some during peak times.

With this we ended up at Smith Family Farms Market on Saturday and purchased 3 beef filets for grilling on Father's Day. The service was great and the people were very friendly and helpful. BUT, the best part was the steaks. These were by far the best steaks we had grilled in a long while. They melted in your mouth they were so tender. I braised them over high heat for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes on each side. Then grilled them for 8 minutes on each side. They were very thick and turned out beautiful with slight pink center (temperature was about 150° - 155°). As said they were so tender.. We've found a new go to. Our thanks to the people at Smiths for making our Father's Day meal special!!!

This review is for Either Friday or Saturday Oct 8/9, 2021…read more I will say we tried them because they had 5 stars, but sadly only 19 people have reviewed the place, so either they have had more who do not use yelp or others do not leave reviews, which may have made up a difference, for as long they have been in business. I usually like to look thins up before trying local business, especially family owned one's out. I am giving two dates because right now I do not recall which date my partner went in to give these folks a try. Since moving down here we have been looking for a new butcher to shop at as our business was with another local butcher where we lived, so we were could frequent the butcher over store products as 9 times out of 10 butches product is fresher and better depending where you go. So like stated we wanted to give this location a try for the first time. Due to my current health situation with esrd, we tend to not go My partnered had picked up some jerky, a pork shoulder, and Italian sausages. So overall the jerky was ok, and everyone makes their jerky different, but I personally did not care for it, in cased asked why, it was too tough than what I am use to from others. The Italian Sausages, I will say I loved, and will definitely get more if and when we stop in again. Now the reason for 3 stars, I based on both the Pork shoulder and how customer service was handled. I would have given an extra star, but issue was not handled appropriately. I understand this is family ran, I understand how a business is to be ran as I had one for several years, I have as well watched a butcher work their business up north where I am from. The way this location handled issues when my partner called in is not customer service like. I am unsure if regulars get better care than new customers is all I am going to say there. My partner phoned in and the following happen: "She informed about the pork shoulder, was told "we have never had that kind of issue here" Rather than I am sorry and own up to the issue as if we were making something up, we got that and a store credit. So the way the pork shoulder was packaged was as follows: Saran wrap like plastic, and then wrapped in the white like paper. When unwrapping it on Sat or Sunday as it was never frozen, it was suppose to be fresh, I asked what the foul smell was, it was the pork shoulder. I am unsure if the meat was just going bad and this is why this was pushed over the tenderloin we wanted or what the issue was. To owners and staff, we may give you a try again in the near future, and then I will update this review, but until then this is my honest review of our experience of our first time with you guys. I wish it had gone better.
