Marvelous atmosphere with an interconnected beer garden in the middle. Stunning food offers that shine on their own and sing louder when paired with their beers. The fries are proper chippies, thick square cut and long. Crispy outside, fluffy inside. And there are so many dips to choose from. Salads are crisp and light and a marvelous side. We had a couple cocktails in here and the service was excellent even though it appeared they were filled to capacity. There were 4 of us in our party and we were seated at a table in the corner near the bar. Was definitely a cozy spot with so many people being in there and the bar being full. I had The Holy Ghost cocktail and it was a pomegranate hibiscus sour, it had just the right amount of sour! I do not like bitter drinks and this one was good and easy to drink. My husband had a couple of dark beers, I do not remember which ones but he liked them. They had a nice outdoor area but it was a bit too cool for that but it may be worth a return in the Spring to check it out. Bathroom was also really cool as the decor and theme spilled over into it. We will be back.

Their beer is fun, innovative and isn't afraid to explore. Although it may not be groundbreaking but making good beer doesn't always have to be. Even if beer isn't your jam I highly recommend stopping in and tasting the menu that Chef Kathryn Fink has created and Everytime I'm here there's always something new to try be it a weekly special or the ever changing menu. The smoked whitefish pate is outstanding and always a great starter. The look and feel of Monnik always reminds me of a cottage in the mountains and after spending time inside it's so easy to get lost and forget where you're at. As for the service it's always top notch and helpful. I've spent countless hours at the bar asking about different styles of beer and what makes them special. The best part about it is it never feels judgmental or pretentious just good service done the right way. Hats off to you all. Cheers.

It is a small neighborhood bar that has quite some years on it and you can tell. I was greeted by the hosts for the shuttle bus and got a complimentary beer for choosing Nachbar as my pick up location. I did get my complimentary beer and left a generous tip. They had Nords Donuts for food for this event. Beer and Donuts? Very odd combination, was hoping for The Post Pizza or something that was real food. It was free so no complaints other than it was an odd combo. Note: they don't serve food at Nachbar. The inside is kinda dated and there is good seating. Bathrooms are set up like Mag Bar and Kerns Korner. IFYKYK. The outside is more spacious than the inside. They do have a nice patio. As for the inside it looks cool and they have plenty of board games and plenty of local beer on taps that you don't see at most bars. I wouldn't come here on a regular basis but, the local beer selection is a hit with me.

They don't have the biggest dining area. So i didn't want the word to get out and it becomes impossible to get a seat lol, I'm a nice guy though. Everyone in the area should definitely treat yourself to their good food, good service, decent bourbon and craft beer selection. Not to mention their all you can eat days! The sushi was fresh and stacked--an excellent serving. I particularly liked my Spicy Storm: tempura salmon, jalapeno, cucumber with spicy crab and avocado, eel sauce, and wasabi sauce on top. Nice kick, cooled off by the crab and avocado. Great crunch, as well! The sleeper win was the cheesesteak. I went with chicken, which I rarely do. At first bite, I was a little confused, because the flavor isn't the Philly style I'm used to. I realized there were bits of bacon (says that on the menu-whoops), but it didn't over power the flavor, it add almost a sweet smokiness. And their beer cheese? SO GOOD.

It was still hopping, so I guess others had the same idea we did. I ordered the River City burger- pepper jack cheese, tempura jalapeño, egg, & river city sauce. I think it was special for burger week and not normally on their menu, but it should be. It was delicious! Added fries to my order & they were hot, & crispy. Beer prices were a bit pricy- even a burger week special wasn't, IMO, a special. Their location on Bardstown means it's a pain the butt to find parking, but that's true of all bardstown businesses. Not necessarily a deal breaker; Just another layer to think about when going to eat here. I definitely hope to go back to try their sushi & sashimi options.

I actually love a shrub (and they are great for your tummy). I might not get on here again. While, overall, the flavor was nicely balanced, something about it tasted just a tad off, maybe stale? It did come from the tap, pre-made, so maybe has something to do with that... They did release a new menu soon! I tried the cheesesteak. The flavor of the beef was good, but it was tough, borderline chewy. The cheese sauce was delicioius, a really well-developed flavor. And the sprinkle of herbs on top added a nice freshness. Though, solely because of the meat texture, I'd probably skip this in the future. Maybe go for cheese fries, so you can enjoy the sauce!

There are also picnic tables out front. You get a faint whiff of the grill/smoker upon entering. Kylie was our bartender and she was fabulous - knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all of our questions with patience. Wife ordered a mango margarita and doesn't like a lot of tequila, so Kylie went half and gave her a shot on the side in case she wanted to add more. It was wonderful. I had a couple of beers. We started with the fried mushrooms, which aren't what you would expect. It's two large portobellos cut into chunks, battered, fried, and served with sun-dried tomato mayo. They were great. I then ordered a duck taco, brisket taco, and a side of Grippo Fries with smoked mayo. I'd never tried duck but that taco was smack-a-lackin'. The brisket taco was also good, and the fries were fantastic - sweet and spicy, fresh cut, and crispy. Wife ordered a pork belly slider and truffle fries. She enjoyed the slider but didn't care for the fries - just not her thing. The portions here are large. A side of fries will feed three people. We took a hefty portion of them home, as well as some of the mushrooms. We could've sat there at the bar and spent 3 hours socializing and enjoying a smattering of cocktails - love the setting. Look forward to going back and trying one of the burgers at some point.
