We went on a Sunday afternoon and I was craving Korean BBQ. To be specific I was craving spicy bul gogi and kimchichiga. I went with my vegetarian wife and specifically explain to our server he I'm going to get the $40 all you can eat but my wife is going to have a soda because we were going to a get her food after. By the way-My wife was cool with this arrangement, we had specifically discussed it so it was gravy. Understood. Forget about it. I order my food and it hits the spot. No problem. The order was correct and I even order the seafood pancake. They bring me the really small mini version but my wife had some of it non issue. We get the bill and we are charged 2x for the $40 meal because my wife had half of a three inch seafood pancake and a soda! The manager was so unprofessional she actually almost provoked my wife! Shes the good cop in most instances!! I couldn't believe that I had to deescalate the argument!m! Long story short I got the manager to only charge us for one meal but the lady threw my check at me and huffed off like i caused a huge issue- very unpleasant. Look this place has been known to be rude but this was over the line after the manager raised her voice to my wife. The food was a bit different but still very tasty! Customer service has changed and lacks under new management. We were the only table there at the time. We were not offered drinks or rice. We received them once we asked for them. Seems like other reviews have mentioned this being an issue recently. I do want to mention that they apologized. Unfortunately, they also forgot to bring out items we asked for such as a side dish afterwards. When we asked for the last meat we were told that it was fine but were asked to pay the check first. It was supposedly due to a change in shift. We found it odd but figured our waiter was about to leave. But it became awkward since a another set of patrons arrived and were served by the same waiter but were not asked to pay. And after 20 minutes the waiter was still there....and even after we left and sat in the car. Overall, i wouldn't go back due to the customer service. SUMMARY: Even though we were the only table there, they made us wait about 15 minutes in the beginning to even start the AYCE (which is timed), forgot the dishes/drinks, and felt rushed at the end by having us pay before we received the last meat. I had high hopes when dining here since I heard good things about it. When arriving, there's a parking lot, which is convenient. There was almost no wait with no reservation on a Sunday, but there's still a good amount of people dining, so that was nice. At first, service was good, but only in the beginning. We didn't receive rice, but I thought was part of the sides. I didn't mind. The spicy bulgogi was good and the other meats as well. I was a little concerned when the raw meats were slapped on and splashed a bit. We only received a few plates of meat since the service got slower. We felt like we didn't get enough food for the price. We also told the waiters we chose the options that are $29.99, but was overcharged for the $34.99. I didn't realize until I left, but it is what it is. My fault for not checking the receipt. We did feel rushed towards the end also. Amazing Korean BBQ as they cook for you table-side. Calling all carnivores. Grilling right in front of you. This was back in the day when they were on Groupon. It was a deal. Wish they had an All You Can Eat (AYCE) option. Docked one star for that. Requesting AYCE lol as others have that on the menu. Weekends can get pretty busy. We had another great visit to Honey Pig, after craving Korean for lunch. It was a Thursday and not busy, so service was easy and friendly, and as always the welcoming environment and tvs showing Korean music videos were a nice distraction. The food (we had beef and octopus, and regular bulgogi, and bibimbap) was fresh and tasty. The banchan were also good and if we had wanted more, could have had more. Here you'll find the best pork bellies. Also the beef brisket is delicious. Your doctor might not approve, but since I stayed at a Holiday Inn, my prescription says it's a go! This place is a loud zoo and it is so much fun. Family took us here for a post Thanksgiving Thanksgiving. Fabulous. They knew to go early. Tables way open when we got there around 5:15. By 6, all filled and 20 people waiting. The meats to be honest were a little chewy and sinewy. I did not care. The overall flavors of all the side dishes were incredible. Those whipped eggs in a broth. Those cucumbers. The kimchi. The salad. Oh my. Best of all of it. The glass noodles. And the meats, if a tad chewy, were yummy. Take small bites. From a business standpoint, especially in Annandale where there are so many other great dining options, turning away willing customers makes no sense. We came specifically to support this restaurant, and this is the treatment we received? It feels like the management or staff are trying to close early and push people out well before closing hours. Such a nostalgic place. My friends and I would usually came here for Korean bbq in high school and we had a chance to revisit this area after four years so we came again. They have this AYCE option now which is really good. The service was pretty good since we came in at 2pm on a rainy day so there's not a lot of people. Came here for lunch around 12:30 on Memorial Day and they weren't too crowded. Food was excellent, the beef rib meat, pork belly, and bulgogi were tasty and cooked right at the table so it doesn't get any fresher. It came with a side of grilled sprout that I also enjoyed along with kimchi, bamboo and a couple other sides along with sticky rice. We also had an order of the steamed pork dumplings and enjoyed those. Portions are fairly large with 3 meats being enough for four folks. Everything is grilled fresh at the grill so you grab what you want from your total order rather than having your own meal. Service was friendly but I did notice they didn't offer water refills so I think you have to ask. You can split your total bill on separate checks but pay close attention so you don't accidentally way overpay (the suggested amount for tip includes the total amount not the split amount). They also have Korean pop videos playing in the background so if that's your thing you'll get an added bonus. Total was around $100 for three meats, dumplings and sides so it's not super cheap but it's worth the money. I'll come back here again for some Korean BBQ. read more

The restaurant was full of hungry people but we were seated right away. They lit up our bbq grill and immediately brought us water and banchan! Asked us for our drink order and after they brought the water she immediately took our order. We wanted dumpling wonton soup with rice cakes and japchae and bulgogi! Our food came out in no time and she cooked our meat at the table with a side of bean sprouts. The soup hit the spot because it was a cool evening. I love that soup. The bulgogi was perfect and the japchae was excellent. What I did not like about Honey Pig grill? I took my teenage kid and friends for bday celebration. There were 6 of them. We only saw the server once the whole time, we were seated on the room (not the main hall but sort of extension). When the bill arrived, paid it included the 20% tip. Looking at the bill closely, they already included the tip so it's doubly tip. What?? I have no issue tipping servers even the ones not doing the job right but unknowingly charging for tip is not right. read more

If you are in the mood for meat - Honey Pig is the place to go!  We have been coming here for years and years and always have a great experience. The meat meal at Honey Pig is such a favorite that one family member would break her vegetarian diet solely to eat a lunch there.  Our favorites are the spicy pork belly, bulgogi, brisket and boneless rib (we eat a lot!)  The food is always well prepared by helpful chefs at the big wok in the center of each table.  The meats used to be accompanied by one sauce (a second variety if you asked for it) but, on our last visit, there were three different sauces at each place setting.  The meal is also supplemented by an assortment of delicious banchan or mini dishes that vary from a potato salad to kimchis, a salad and more.  Each table also gets at least one very hot bowl of steaming egg which is also really good (just make double sure to blow on your spoon before you eat it!)  We always request some garlic and sliced jalapeno which are really good when you toss them on the sides of the grill to cook.  This last time, we added some dumplings which were ok, but we would probably not order them again.  The meat is and should be the star of the show (along with all the little side dishes.)  Honey Pig has a very convenient lot on the outside and lots of good food and fun k-pop playing on the inside.  I know we will continue to go back and enjoy. read more

This is the legit Korean BBQ experience. I mean, REALLY. We went there meeting friends who have also been to Korea and they were impressed that the restaurant was authentically set up. The food is prepped with excellence--thinly sliced meat and veggies that were easy to cook and cut up. The selection of sides is a wide variety--corn cheese, onion salad, kimchi, etc. The staff is friendly and very helpful. They have a mixed selection of drinks, just be specific if you want the bottle version or the cocktails. The all you can eat offer is worth it if you come in a bigger group. Had a friend that for years raved about Honey Pig and insisted that we dine here when we finally have time. Honey Pig shares the building with a karaoke bar and has plenty of parking. This was my first time having Korean BBQ and they fortunately make it easy. In the middle of the table is a large grill where they cook everything. This location of Honey Pig does not offer all you can eat. Table ordered several rounds of meat including Brisket, Kalbi Beef Rib, Bulgogi, and Duck. Brisket and Kalbi Beef Rib were good, with the Bulgogi being very flavorful due to the sauce. All of the sauces we had were good with differing flavor profiles. Sides included a bowl of rice, salad, and several vegetable-based items that were good. The steamed egg was interesting. We did overorder on one item because I wanted a side of Bibimbap for the table and it was huge. Even with three people we ended up only eating a little more than half. Overall, it's very much worth coming here and the food is good. Just watch the prices as it is not cheap. read more

We came for an early Saturday lunch with friends, first to arrive when the place opened at 11:30. No crowd at this time. Items we ordered were the vegetable japchae, spicy pork bulgogi ( bothcooked in the kitchen), beef brisket, and la galbi (cooked on the grill). They brought a light variety of tasty banchan, and grilled the spicy bean sprouts on the grill along with the meat. They made of point of saying that what we ordered would only come with three steamed rice servings, which since I don't eat much rice is fine but it seemed a little nickel-and-dimey given the priciness of the entrees. Everything was good - I personally prefer marinated meat to the plain brisket but that's a preference thing and this was the preference of one of my friends (we all picked one dish). The spicy pork really wasn't very spicy but had good flavor. The LA Galbi (my pick) also had very good flavor but it was not a very generous portion for the high price. It was $38.99 and came with three slices, which as we all know are nearly half bone. So since we were all sharing everything, I actually didn't get very much rib meat, and for probably the first time ever, I actually walked away from a K-BBQ still a bit hungry. The ambience is very bar like, and they did pass out drink menus that I didn't even look at it since it was so early in the day. All in all, I'd come back, but probably not if I was craving LA Galbi, unless I'd just gotten a bonus from work and didn't have to feel guilty spending nearly $40 on not-enough-ribs. I know beef is pricy and I care more about quality than quantity, but I'm used to an order of LA galbi being about 25-30, not 40, and a bit larger. read more

It's not just the food, but the service. I'm a total carnivore - so satisfying me with grilled meat is kinda a no-brainer. I've heard many great things about this place so it was on my radar for the longest time, but I never made time to visit. But lucky for me it's not too far away so I made the trip (twice now, I should say). From the outside it's very non-descript, and the inside isn't much fancier. But you don't come here for décor, you come to be fed. I'm not experienced with running these grills but the staff was happy to help me. It's actually very simple. Out of all the KBBQ joints in Annandale Honey Pig is still one of our favorites. Consistent quality, good value...the marinated kalbi, brisket, spicy cold noodles, seafood pancake are all delicious. Had the shrimp on a recent visit and that is also quite tasty. Nice vibe with the blasting k-pop music and videos if you are looking for a more casual ambiance.
