Grabbed breakfast with my wife, sister-in-law and her boyfriend. It was a busy morning, wait quoted was about right on. Our server was friendly and didn't mess anything up. I ordered the supremo chorizo skillet with a biscuit and gravy. Skillet was delicious, a little heat and a nice hearty portion. The biscuit was ok and the gravy was a larger portion for a smaller biscuit. My wife ordered a pecan roll which was really good. Drizzled with caramel. No complaints from the rest of the party, given how busy they were the kitchen made the food in a reasonable amount of time. Overall when we are in the area again we will definitely be back. I found this place on my way to St Louis from my stop along the way in Merrillville. I drove to Lockport to have breakfast here because I always research gluten-free restaurants on my route. I was not disappointed. The place was so cute. There was the most beautiful painting along the wall overhead. The atmosphere was cute and cozy. There were several people eating there and I could see why. My server was Rose, who was super friendly and helpful. The pancakes you cannot get gluten-free were marked by an asterisk, which made it easy to order. However, the red velvet pancakes were not marked, but I was told they couldn't be made gluten free. I felt bummed at first, but chose gluten-free French toast with cream cheese filling...OMG to DIE for. I love cheese danish and this was a lot like a huge danish...the best I ever had. I also had scrambled eggs and bacon, both very yum. The coffee was also very good. I went to pay and mentioned I had a free book card. I offer them everywhere I go, and the staff were so cute. Several got excited and lots of them took cards for free book downloads. They were all so friendly. They really made me feel welcome. The rest of the menu looked delicious too. Almost as much as I enjoyed eating breakfast here on 1/31/16. Unsurprisingly, there was a large line eagerly awaiting brunch, but after a brief 10 minute wait Jackie S and I were seated. It was then that I discovered one of the biggest breakfast menus in middle Earth. Pages upon pages of specialty pancakes, omelettes, waffles, crepes, blintzes, french toast, variations of eggs benedict, and so much more. In fact, the biggest problem I encountered here was deciding what to get! I finally settled on my 1st of 12 choices--narrowed down from roughly 27--the 'hungry man' 2x2x2x2x2. This came with 2 eggs, 2 sausage links, 2 pancakes, 2 slices of french toast, 2 strips of crispy bacon, and hash browns. I would say that this was precisely what the doctor ordered, but let's be honest, I would get SO scolded by my doctor for putting such unhealthy amounts of cholesterol into my body (one time I told him 'I want a second opinion', after which he responded "okay, well you're ugly too".) For a small fee, I upgraded my french toast to the bananas foster variant. Caramelized banana slices, crunchy granola, and a drizzling of praline sauce made for one heckuva way to start the day. Couple this with thick, excellent crispy bacon and it's hard not to fall head over heels in love with this Lockport gem. Our waitress was friendly and obliged my request for hot sauce. Dining room was kept pretty clean and management was diligent in turning over tables, ensuring that wait times were less than what was originally promised. Placed a big order for our unit and they got our order completely wrong. The bacon was so over cooked and inedible. Called to see what could be done as we wanted an exchange or refund for such low quality food and the employee denied any wrong doing. I offered to take all of the food back to show him how terrible the food looked and give him a chance to make it right but all he said was to never come back again. I love this place but after the customer service I received I don't think I'll be eating here anymore. Called to inform them my order was wrong, spoke to the manager for him to tell me that I was wrong and that's what's suppose to come with. I went here assuming a level of safety during this pandemic but was shocked by the utter disregard for public safety. Not one server wore a mask correctly. One kept her mask completely under her chin, even while leaning over us to refill coffee. The rest never had their noses covered. When I asked our server to wear her mask appropriately when at our table she shot one of those "if looks could kill" expressions. She returned more than once with her nose still uncovered. Fortunately the food was good and served promptly but I was shocked by the lack of care for the well being of the customers and employees. Kudos to the bus boy who wore his mask appropriately the entire time. Although I've been a regular at this restaurant pre-COVID19, I will never return. So disappointing. read more

Not once have we gotten the "are you leaving soon" gaze. Anywho, they have these teapots with all sorts of awesome teas that you can share with your co-diner. The menu is rather large but it all looks amazing & some things are very original. During my recent visit we had the homemade corned beef hash skillet (yep it's definitely homemade) & creme brulee french toast. The skillet was perfectly composed and very delicious. The french toast was okay, good but not amazing. I was hoping for more of a "brulee" flavor, you know? Didn't find that there but it was not terrible by any means.
