I got it. I tried it and rated it 1-10! Not even going to lie, this is probably one of the best places I've eaten at in the DMV. I got the chicken and waffle. The chicken was seasoned so well. The breading was flavored to perfection. The waffle was light and airy, but wasn't soggy. It had an outside crunch to it. The syrup and honey butter were *chef's kiss. Not too sweet, but just right. I was excited to bring my husband here for Father's Day after seeing their mouth watering Instagram page. We were able to get a seat immediately for brunch and we ordered the lemonade and a mimosa. The QR codes at the table made ordering fairly easy. We're living in the future! The wait for food wasn't long at all. My husband had the dark meat chicken sauced up and I ordered the seafood basket and a side of mac and cheese and seasoned wedges. The seafood basket was better than expected! My husband wasn't a fan of the fried chicken with the sauce so we ordered chicken to travel back to NYC with without the sauce. That too was ok. Fired chicken is one all my all time favorite meals so I'm always spectacle about trying some where new. However honeymoon chicken is some of the best chicken I've eaten in a while and I will now only get my fried chicken from here in the DC area. I came with a group of six and the staff was very accommodating and found a table big enough for us immediately. When you sit down there is a barcode for the menu in which you order and pay on as well so your able to itemize the order and only pay for your order. We had been salivating for months waiting for delivery to be an option (frequently not available), and yesterday was the day! We ordered a bucket plus coleslaw and Mac n cheese, along with the rolls. The chicken was overall dry and not flavorful, and not crispy--I tried both a thigh and breast. You could taste some seasoning on the outside of the chicken, but the flavor didn't continue to the meat. So sad! The food was decent and everyone was friendly, but there was no service. I sat down and was instructed to use the WR code to order. My food was prepared and brought out fairly quickly. I ordered the shrimp poboy, fries and rolls. The fries weren't fresh out of the grease hot like I like them and the poboy was slathered in butter. The shrimp were big, but there were only about 6. I felt like I was eating unhealthy (way too much butter), so I didn't eat the bread. At no point did anyone come and say, "how's your food, do you need anything?" They weren't busy (2:30 pm) and had time. By 3:30 I was ready to go. As someone passed and saw that I was idle and has things piled up on my primary plate, she asked if I needed a box. I told her yes. She grabbed it, but never brought it. 15 minutes later, I got up and asked someone else for one. Overall the food was decent (the hot sauce had a weird taste). Will I go back? Between the four of us, we tried the hot honey nuggets, hot honey sandwich and classic sandwich as well as the mashed potato's, fries, and Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious. I would like to go back and get non-hot honey nuggets because i think it overpowered the dips. They were still really good - good mix of hot and sweet. All of the sides were great. The food came out cold, which was a bit disappointing because the diner themed restaurant was packed. The chicken breast was crispy and juicy. Honey sauce was all over and plenty. I wish there was some spice/ heat to the sauce or seasoning because all I'm tasting is sweet, sticky honey, which was pretty one note. The brussel sprouts were fantastic, but I wish I got a side that wasn't permeated with honey because everything already had the same flavor. This place gets an A+ for vibes/atmosphere. The decor is really colorful and unique, like a trendy diner. I also really really loved the Toast Tab payment and ordering system. It takes the hassle out of splitting the bill if you're with a group. You order through the platform on your phone and it keeps tabs of who got what. At the end, you each pay separately for your meal. The waiters were very attentive and down to earth even though we ordered through the app. The food is good but there's room for improvement. I ordered the wedge salad and it came completely drenched in dressing (bummer). The chicken has a kick to it that some may enjoy more than others. I struggled to decide what to have on their brunch menu, but given that only one item had chicken, I figured that'd be the way to go since they're known for it. They have a chicken & waffles dish, but it's not just your average C&W... Like so many restaurants nowadays, you're allowed to pay and order through Toast Tab, and it made ordering the chicken & waffles so fun! While toasttabbing, I got to pick how I wanted the chicken -- did I want it spicy or mild?? Did I want whole wings, nuggets or drumsticks?? And how many of each?? Did I want white meat, dark meat or both?? I decided to go with 10 spicy nuggets, and my GOSH they were good -- nothing near the spiciest I have had, but definitely delicious. And the waffles were CINNAMON... and came with honey butter and a tasty syrup. That was one dish I thoroughly enjoyed with my strawberry pineapple lemonade mimosa and Tokyo Tea. The bartender is definitely on one. I didn't go inside until right before we left and I had to use the bathroom -- their wall decor is pretty cool... honestly, the bathroom door was nearly hidden. I was very excited to give this a try, especially from seeing the marketing on social media. The chicken is missing flavor. The Mac and cheese was dry and lack luster. The shrimp seafood basket is missing flavor, something must change to make it more flavorful. The food looks better in pictures than in person. I came here a couple of months ago with some friends after seeing a food review of the place on Instagram. I ordered the Hot Honey Dipped Chicken Sandwich, and it was easily the best chicken sandwich i've ever had to date. I'm not huge on spice but I can handle a good bit and this sandwich was the perfect blend of spicy, savory, and sweet. I don't know how you guys did it but keep doing it. The only complaint I have is the ordering system, instead of a traditional sit down and be served you look up the QR code and order online. This might be to save money in the long run or reduce turnover costs with servers but it wasn't something I was used to. Other than that, my meal was excellent. This place is super good, and the food is worth the hype. But is it worth the price? It's pushing the upper limit of what I'd pay for a chicken sandwich (around $40 for two sandwiches and two sides).
