They give ALOT of food for a good price and they can have you in and out during lunch rush in 2 minutes. Cool spot for some take-out because the inside is not that big and it does't scream, "come sit down and dine". Let me start by saying, my review is based solely on customer service, hence the two star rating. Customer service is horrible!! This isn't my first experience, in fact, it's my second visit to experience this unfriendly and horrible customer service. The gentleman is actually the owner so I'm sure he doesn't care and may even have the attitude, if you don't like it, don't come back. I'm sure a lot of customers feel the same way but here is the kicker.....Their fried garlic chicken is the bomb!!!! No kidding! 5 stars for that gosh darn delicious fried garlic chicken. I only get the party try of garlic fried chicken, and it's pretty good! Sometimes it can be really salty and other days it's made perfectly! It definitely wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, initially. It was 11:30 am on a Sunday. The MotoGP season opener was about to start on SpeedTV, but the Missus and I had no food. I haven't had food from this chain since I was in high school; when MSG didn't really bother me that much. We walked in and opted for the the 2 item combo. Most things looked kinda old, so we picked the freshly made stuff consisting of chow mein and orange chicken. I think I fell asleep for a few hours after eating. This usually doesn't happen unless I eat heavy food that is horrible for me. Enter Hong Kong Express! I've had much worse to the point that I was pleasantly surprised by decent quality of HKE. Please don't eat here!! I figured since it was in the shopping center next to jersey mikes starbucks ect. It would be okay.. BIGMISTAKE! I ordered a one entree combo and a one item bowl, the pork had a terrible taste like artificial and was sooo chewy like it had been there for days and through many reheats.. The chicken was disgusting and the teriyaki sauce tasted like watered down corn syrup it was the most unappetizing thing i have seen or tasted in a long time.. I dont know how this place is still even in business. It might have something to do with it being soo cheap but i would rather eat top ramen which i despise than to eat this places food. Got the 1 item combo with chow Mein, rice, and broccoli beef. The noodles were sort of bland and lacking flavor but the fried rice made up for it. Additionally the broccoli was extremely chewy. (Not really my thing) but the broccoli once again made up for the previous item. Parking here is a nightmare during lunch hours so try to come before or after the rush. Clean and fast ,got Kung pao chicken my usual go to i like some spicy I was a bit to much , my roommate who loves spicy tried a bite and the spicy for he being my dish was soupy was to spicy for her. Had to rinse the sauce of put my own and take out quiet a bit of the big. Fourth cut zucchini chunks what meat I did get was tough , fatty, gristly and chewy.
