This place is Fucking Garbage!! First of all they don't take fucking debit card but they sure as shit have an atm machine that charges $2 dollars for a transaction.. The chow mien tasted like burnt asshole. The orange chicken had so much sauce on it I thought I was going to vomit from the flavor over load.. The sweet and sour pork was dog shit, tasted like it was micro waived left over from last night and the pork/beef stick, idk what the hell it was, was all fat and burnt to shit.. I probably shouldn't let this secret out but I have to say they have the BEST fried garlic chicken wings! We go out of our way just to order them from this location. Crispy, salty and garlicky sweet! And they stay crispy for a long time (I know because it's a long drive home from this place). They must have their own recipe because it's different from the other HKE's in the chain that I've tried. Other than their very good Orange Chicken, the rest of their menu is average Chinese take-out fare, but they do give large portions. read more

My hubby and I use to come here all the time but it has changed a lot.. especially since the new owners took over. About a week ago we stopped by. My husband wanted some chowmein and I was craving a soup since I had a sore throat. The owner was there, the chubby lady, she took our order. I have never tried their soups so I asked her if I could try the soups she gave me this nasty look and rolled her eyes at me! Don't say you offer samples if it bothers you.. the food is not good anymore, chowmein is nasty like it's leftover and they just re-cook it in more oil and the soups are bland. read more

Typical mall style Chinese fast food...got the orange chicken which was had a nice flavor and was actually crispy and i also got the sweet n sour pork which was very bland even with a generous amount of soy sauce on top. Noodles were bland but the fried rice was pretty tasty. Overall I give this spot a 2.5/5 . FIVE stars for the chicken wings ONLY!!!! That's all we come here for, usually order a large size to-go about 30pcs fresh, then make our own sides at home. They must marinate it in a secret msg sauce!! They also have half/full pans great for parties if you order ahead. The rest is your typical fast-chinese food, nothing special. read more

Of all the cheap Chinese places around Gardena this may be the best. I actually pass another HK Express to go to this one, but it's worth it. It seems cleaner inside and with better quality food than the others. The location is good with plenty of parking. Came here today (11/16/14). Service was quick, but had to wait for them to restock on some food. Ordered 2 single items and 2 two item dishes. Didn't notice until I got home to give everyone their orders and the lady forgot to put the 2nd order of food in for the 2 item dish. Ended up paying for 2 two items and 2 single items and ended up with 3 single items and 1 double item... So make sure to check that your orders are correct when they have to wait for additional food to be put out for them to add in. read more

Don't get the teriyaki chicken! It was the poorest quality chicken ever given to a Bronze Classic like myself ever at a fast food Chinese place. Some of us watch our carbs, yes? Went into this place at Saturday afternoon for the first time, food selection and portion is good, price is good. However, the taste is just OK, fried chicken is too dry, very disappointed. The most dangerous thing is there's peanut in their noodles. My kids has allergy to peanut, and you never know they will add peanut butter as an ingredient to the noodle. So, just be aware. I got the 2 item combo for $6.50 and it was alright. The chow mein was yummy, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. I got the "spicy" green beans and chicken, but it was not even spicy. The beans were good, but I think they fry it because it was a bit oily. I also got the pork rib, and they gave me a big potion, but it was mostly bone. The sauce was delicious, but it was bright red/pink, so I know it was fake food coloring. The service was meh - I kept saying "please" and "thank you" but nothing was said back to me. read more

Tried this place today for lunch typical Chinese fast food. Good tasting, very fresh, and decent cost. I got the chicken wings with my normal meal and ended up with a heaping mound of food that I ended up sharing with my coworker all because the reviews for the garlic wings were overwhelming I had to try them. Now I am not a wing fan I normally find them to much trouble for very lil meat and taste. These were amazing! huge wings so much flavor and so crispy. Now they are salty but I love my food salty. So good even thinking about picking some up for the husband to try. read more

I used to go to this place off and on since its close and fast. The food wasn't that bad for the price. So I think maybe their owner changed a year or so ago? The people who work there are different now. So heres my review after going there the last four times. I usually get orange chicken there for at least one of my meat selections. Well the new workers will grab the smallest pieces off the bottom of the meat tray and only put about 2/3 the amount they used to in your plate. When i started to eat the food i noticed the meat was dried out and was all dough and super tough. The rice had dried up hardened grains so i couldn't even chew what was in my mouth. It felt like i had a piece of gravel in-between my teeth. So i had to spit out all the food. After the first time i just chalked it up to maybe its just this one time, but after for consecutive visits i now totally hate this place. It's a shame all the local food places in Gardena are going down hill. Oh yeah they used to water down their siracha sauce before, but now its way more watery. I wish they would close down and move out of there to make room for a better restaurant. read more

This place is awesome. They give you HUGE Portions and the food is good too. I had the sweet and sour pork, spicy chicken and half/half rice and chow mein. I paid about 6 dollars and it was good for lunch and dinner. The interior sat about 15-20 people but most people were getting their food to go. I went here with my girlfriend. We looked over the entree's and she decided she wanted to taste one of them. We asked the girl behind the counter and she gave her a mushroom instead of the meat. I was thinking are you kidding me?! My girlfriend said WOW! I wanted to taste the meat before I bought it! Are you that cheap and stingy you can't afford to give away one piece of meat for a sample!? Unbelievable and bad customer service if you ask me! Then the lady turns around and gets the new chow mein from the window in the back from the cooks. She takes the old pan out, puts the new one in and holds the old one over the new pan. It's literally dripping into the new chow mein she see's it and keeps on scooping it out. That was enough for me. Very unsanitary. For one, not sure when they empty that water that keeps the food warm underneath the pans. The pan could have had anything any kind of chemical/food on it from that water. Whatever it may be that was pretty disgusting. I would say if I seen that within 5 minutes then I'm sure they do some other things that are in sanitary. I will never eat here and I hope at least you give it some thought before you do. You should not have to question the sanitation in a restaurant serving you the food that you pay for. Hope this helps. read more

It was raining on Friday night and I felt like having Chinese food. So I yelped for a Chinese restaurant close to where I live. Hong Kong Express had some high reviews. Other people said Orange Chicken was juicy big chunks of chicken with lots of flavor, and they were right. The eggplant tofu dish was a split choice for me. Loved the tofu, and thought the eggplant could have had more flavor. They could apice up the fried rice too. The eggdrop soup was wonderful for a chilly wet night. I really like the eggroll as well. It was worth driving there on a rainy night. read more
